Xannder |
Heh, that was my nickname in High School... What other alternatives do we have? I don't think I can stick stakes into my rifle, I don't have a lot of silver, I guess I could pick up a mirror from the Big Blue Machine before we head out there.
Xannder says with a chuckle.
Big Blue Machine is a nickname my friends gave to Wal-Mart.
Alisha Quinn |
Alisha says, "The problem with just trying to kill him with standard attacks is the the Vampire may have the power to turn into a Mist Form which may make him invulnerable and able to escape any form of entrapment we can try and contain him in. We should see if we can stake the vampire, whereas he will be helpless and then we can dispose of him by tossing him in the nearby river or taking his body out into the sun."
Alisha Quinn |
Alisha looks to Jon and nods in agreement saying, "Indeed, a ranged weapon like a crossbow would work. The weapon tip however will have to be silvered so that it can penetrate the vampire's natural defenses and the bolt will have to go deep enough to put a wooden shaft through his heart. We will also need someone who can hit a bullseye on a moving target and hit in such a place that the bolt would penetrate the rib cage. It would be easier if there was some way to immobilize the vampire, but I doubt we have a method to do so safely."
Alisha Quinn |
Alisha thinks for a moment and then says, "There is one spell that I have in my spell-book that will nearly guarantee an accurate strike on a target, called True Strike. The problem is it only works on myself. So if I do use it, I will have to be the person who takes the shot."
Jon Carson |
John frowns, he had hoped for more, but from working in his position as long as he had, he knew that you had to work with what you had instead of wishing for things you didn't "hmm, then we should save such for the head honchos how many vampires are we liable to face?"
DireMerc |
"If you storm the castle you mean? Four by my count although the count might have turned a few more since he arrived. He is ususaly very selective about who he turns so not many more than that. You also need to worry about all those he considered unworthy who will have been turned into ghouls, vampire spawns or zombies." says Urik
Jon Carson |
John blinks "oh, well then that's not near as bad as I was expecting, zombies are easy, and ghouls don't pose too much a threat if you keep your distance, the spawn concern me, but all in all, could have been much worse"
note I am not saying make it harder for us, in character he was staving off a mild panic attack and now he's like, "ok, incredibly dangerous, yes, but I wouldn't say doomed, especially given we won't be the only ones fighting" note this is an internal monologue
Domingo Santana |
I don't think we have a crossbow. So it's time for a visit to Ye Olde Sporting Goods section. I have a Wealth Bonus of +11 so I can foot the bill for whoever wants one. I'm assuming we all took 10 minutes to make crude stakes back with the elves.
"Well, let's go pick up a crossbow then. We're on the clock people."
Joey Konani |
Joey nods at Urik. "Sneaky is good. Though I wouldn't count on a vampire not having noticed a secret passage into his castle. Even when it used to be your castle."
Roy MacArran |
"Sounds fine to me," Roy comments. "Probably good to go back over what all we have for weapons and figure out what we're taking first."
To that end, I think I'll go through gameplay and take stock of what all we've found again, post in Discussion. Maybe make up a spreadsheet. Might take a bit though.
Alisha Quinn |
Alisha will request a dozen Silver Tipped crossbow bolts with wooden shafts and a crossbow. Just to add insult to injury, she'll get some holy water in order to bless the arrow tips so they count as Magical thus overcoming the Silver/Magical requirements. She also will be memorizing two True Strike spells from her spellbook.
Xannder |
Xannder will request enough Silver bullets for 3 Magazine for his M16, and as many surgery kits as he can get his hands on.
Even after reading the description for Treat injury 100 times, I am still unclear how it all works... I feel like I NEED surgery kits to heal damage though.
Joey Konani |
Joey asks Santa for 50 shells of silver shotgun ammunition, 10 shells filled with holy water for splash damage, 10 shells filled with anti-vampire tear gas (powdered garlic and silver mixed with holy water, I'd say), 5 magazines of silver ammo for his Glock, and the silver equivalent of brass knuckles.
Some kind of neck protection would be good, too, especially if it could be lined or somehow infused with silver. Oh, and a necklace of fresh garlic bulbs.
If he can get illuminators for his guns that put out UV as well as visible light, that would be great, too.
Roy MacArran |
Roy requisitions as much silver and white phosphorous ammunition for his weapons (.357 magnum, 9mm, and 7.62mm) as he can get, as well as garlic cloves (a necklace would be cool), any sort of UV lights, and flares. Beyond that, he just doesn't trust the Deppies as far as he can throw them. (And his Strength is 10, so that isn't very far.)

In addition, I will have gear distributed.
Dawn comes and you meet at the place agreed upon (The log cabin out in the woods). The werewolves are ready and so are the agents and even sir Urik joins you. The chopper arrives and gear is being distributed when Alisha gets a call.
"Looks like the vamp is making a move! Zombies are attacking folk at random all over town it's turning into dawn of the dead down there. We need to get down there and begin a full evacuation! We have to contain this! You continue with the plan and take that vampire out, take Jon with you! We will handle the situation in town." says Alisha
She jumps into the chopper with a few agents and they fly off towards town.
The werewolves agree to attack the front gate to create a diversion and they take off running into the woods.
Sir Urik leads the way and takes you north towards the east end of the castle. You climb the mountain and arrived at the castle walls. There Urik opens a secret passage, the entrance was damaged by the castles displacement but it's still there and looks like you can enter. Behind is a dark tunnel.
Xannder |
I will be happy to take point. Just don't leave me alone, would hate to turn around and not see you guys.
Xannder stands and loads his white phosphorous magazine into his AR. He turns on his flashlight mounted to the barrel and begins to lead the party into the tunnel.

Joey Konani |
"I'll take drag. Just somebody look over their shoulder from time to time, make sure I'm still there, okay? I'll wave. It'll be nice." Joey grins as he smacks a magazine of silver shotgun shells into his weapon.
DireMerc |
The dark low passage connects to a chamber deep in the bowels of the castle dungeons. you enter a small chamber that appears to be a dusty win cellar. There is a wooden door that leads out into a hallway you open the door and look left and right.
To the left is a spiral staircase that leads up an down and to the right is a door about 40 feet down.
"This way" says Sir Urik moving to the right and going to the stairs.
There is a click and sudden grinding noise and the floor suddenly lifts up and the ceiling opens up and in a moment Sir Urik is transported to the floor above. The sudden rising of the floor also has the effect of blocking the way to the stairs.
Domingo Santana |
Dom curses. "Okay, everyone spread out and look for a lever that can bring him back real quick."

Joey Konani |
Joey rushes over to join Xander near the door. "Let's hope there's some stairs on the other side of this door." He raises his shotgun and looks back at Jim, then nods at Xander. "On 3."
