Alisha Quinn |
Alisha gives a bow in the direction of the voice, "Indeed Lady of the Forest, the Witch Maria took the power of the Fane and intends to use it against our mutual enemy who no longer benefits from its power. I request that the villagers be released from the curse and that you gather your forces for an assault on the castle. Its time to bring this undead fiend to an end."
Domingo Santana |
"We understand that this may displease you, but please do not void our bargain. The innocents you have gathered should not be cursed to walk as beasts and fight a war they can scarcely understand."

"Thank you, my Lady. You have been very generous. But many of our group have been hurt. Do your people have any healing powers that they can use on us?"

Joey Konani |
"That's what I'm here for." Joey had slung his shotgun over his shoulder when the blindfold went on, to prevent any unfortunate accidents. He was near the back of the group since he didn't have the relationship the others did with the Lady.
Ha. Yeah. 'No blindfold, please.' ...goes blind. 'Totally worth it!' :)

The lady uses mass cure light wounds on the group. Healing everyone for 13 points.
"I will go tend to the villagers, I have left you another gift to aid in the coming battle. The Sunblade, it's wilder can call upon it to let daylight shine. The Sunblade will then sheds a bright yellow radiance that is like the rays of the sun and has the same effect on creature of the night as the sun would. You may open your eyes now."
When you open your eyes she is gone and a sword has been put on the shore of the lake.
Once per day, the wielder can speak the command words "Let daylight shine". The radiance begins shining in a 10-foot radius around the sword wielder and extends outward at 5 feet per round for 10 rounds thereafter, to create a globe of light with a 60-foot radius. The radiance then fades to a dim glow that persists for another minute before disappearing entirely. The sword is also a +2 Longsword.

All these old weapons, haven't these people ever heard the expression "don't bring a knife to a gunfight?" If it really does what she says, I guess that means it's magical. Who here was in one of those medieval combat groups and feels good using Excalibur?
Xannder looks at the rest of the group.
Domingo Santana |
Dom took a deep breath and took the sword in his hands. He drew it and tested the weight. He then expertly swung the weapon.
"I'll take it. Reena showed me how to use one of these once upon a time."

not technically true, though as a rule of thumb that works for most, some monsters are just that fast, or have magic that counters it, or can heal before your eyes, that's why I use magic, and guns, and any tech I can get my hands on, when I get the time I'll learn some martial arts, just for principle's sake
Domingo Santana |
Dom sheathed the weapon.
"I don't disagree, Roy. But like the man says some things only die with a judicious application of bladed violence, so I've learned to make do. But all the same, let's try to shoot this guy first. I'm not exactly itching to test how my sword lessons have held up."

Joey Konani |
Joey nods. "That's a good idea. Vampires mean holy water, garlic, crosses... uh, silver? Or is that just werewolves?" He shakes his head. "Anyway, hitting up a Catholic church would be good. And a grocery store."
Domingo Santana |
Dom rolled his eyes, but smirked good-naturedly. "You must be real popular at the company picnic, Carson."
Jon Carson |
John smirks right back "as if there were any doubt"
He then turns to Jim I'm not actually sure, I can't be expected to know everything, I think it differs from vamp to vamp, some being hurt by bullets, some you'd need silver, some wood, some you'd need a magic weapon, I'd need to do some research to tell what kind this is.. Course I might be thinking about some other monster he shrugs
Roy MacArran |
"You wanna kill a vamp? Silver bullets. Fire. Sunlight. Hold them underwater. Stake them, cut off their head and stick some holy wafers in its mouth. Mirrors and garlic hold them off, same with a cross. They don't like running water and can't do private homes... But yeah, silver bullets do the trick." Roy pulls his Beretta out and loads it with his mag of silvers while talking, obviously making ready. "Don't suppose Harv sent you out here with more?"
Xannder |
For the record, totally kidding about the whole Blade-sword thing... Xannder says rapidly and quickly corrects himself.I mean... Glad to know I could contribute to the discussion. Let's go get some pizza ingredients and invite the vamps over for a slumber party.
Alisha Quinn |
Alisha says, "Vampires have many deadly powers but also many grave weaknesses. Holy symbols also are an effective defense so long as you wield them with a degree of faith behind A vampire would have to exert great will to attack someone protected in such a way. But this does not prevent the vampire from doing ranged or magical attacks. As for the running water I believe it only works with full immersion. You can't harm a vampire with a super-soaker unfortunately despite it literally being Running Water."
DireMerc |
Hurnn enters the cavern.
"The lady is curing the villagers. I am glad that it didn't come to using them as soldiers. Living with the werewolf curse can be difficult. While my brothers enjoy it and consider it a blessing and spend most of their time in wolf form I have tried to resist the curse. It has been three years since my last change but it grows difficult especially on a full moon. I should warn you that staying here tonight could be dangerous. The bloodlust during a fullmoon is hard to resist."
Xannder |
Xannder thanks the man and begins heading back to his car.
So we should probably get some supplies if we are going to take down Dracula. You guys know of a Hunters-R-Us around here that would sell what we need pre-made? I'm all for DIY projects, but I think we are on a bit of a time crunch.
Jon Carson |
John will report to his supervisors all that had happened over the course of the day and then he will go to the neerest electronics store and see if he can buy a UV light commonly used to aid in the growth of plants, hardening various plastics and revealing secret messages if one is not avalible for purchase he will simply go to the neerest church and ask for holy water, anointing oil.
Joey Konani |
Joey goes along, as well. If they have a priest friendly enough to bless a bathtub full of water, he gladly buys a super soaker to put it in. He'll also make sure he has garlic and a cross necklace.
Domingo Santana |
Dom moves his hand to rest on the sidearm under his leather jacket. He didn't want to believe that the mountain of a man had done all this. But he wouldn't put it past him either. He hoped the man hadn't simply snapped from culture shock.
"Urik - tell me what happened," he commanded gently.
