I'm back.

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Hey Grimmy, check your email. Better late than never ;)

Grimmy, will you allow me to take Hellcat Stealth eventually?

@Q: Got the .por, thanks.

@Raz: Normally no companion series and golarion-centric crunch, but I remember you ran healcat stealth by me back in recruitment so it's grandfathered in.

Sweeeeet :D

I am just pondering where to take Raziel to, if he survives to actually level up, and taking a rogue level will give me a talent - pondering where to spend it, but Skill Focus: Stealth is looking good at the moment.

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Well you know... since spell like abilities count for entering classes you could just take 2 more levels of rogue and go into AT at 5. You get to cast darkness (a 2nd level spell) as a tiefling.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

I still think that SLA should not qualify. In addition, most of the classes require that the character be: "Able to cast 2nd-level divine spells and 2nd-level arcane spells". I have not been a great follower of the continuous updates to rules, however, if it says "spells" then it should require more than one. The editors know how to require only a single spell as seen with the AT which requires: "Ability to cast mage hand and at least one arcane spell of 2nd level or higher."

Of course, this leads to the additional question. Is a SLA "arcane" or "divine"?

Yeah I'm not crazy about the SLA as prereq's idea because it's a little narrow in the race/class combo's it applies for, but I do think it's cool they wanted to try something that makes prestige classes more viable again.

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Prestige classes are viable, but not the ones from the CRB. Like a Winter Witch is a nice thing to have in the Reign Of Winter AP, and a Hellknight is great for Council of Thieves and Wrath of the Righteous. Paizo has taken steps to tie prestige classes to their campaign setting which is something I can't say I totally disagree with.

That was actually going to be one of my next questions to Grimmy :D

Yeah that is pretty cool and puts the prestige back in prestige class. It's always cool when a prestige class is something setting specific like an organization you actually have to join or something.

I've heard about the nightmares at the end of 3.5 when every build needed a PrC but I wasn't around for that, so the a la carte toolkit approach to multi-classing has a certain appeal to me that those who played a lot in the 3.x era might be jaded on.

Monk (Zen Archer) 2 | Init:+2 Perc:+9 | HP: 13/20 Melee:+3 Ranged:+3 Flurry:+4/+4 | F:+4 R:+5 W:+7

Yeah. The multiple campaign settings and hundreds of supplements power creeped the hell out of 3.5. I like Paizo's, I'd dare say minimalist, approach to adding powers and their commitment to not front-loading classes.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

I went from AD&D to PF, so I missed all the mishaps in between.

Male Human Deep Walker Ranger 3 [Exp: 6290] [HP: 34, Init: +5 (+7 underground), Perc: +7 (+9 underground), AC: 16, Tch: 12, Flt: 14, Fort: 5 (+4 Endurance), Ref: 4, Will: 2] [Melee +8 (1d10+6/18-20/×2)]

I only played in one short-lived campaign of 4e before I found this site and moved to PF.

backgrounds

Spent years with AD&D and I remember it fondly, but then again we ignored like half the rules. Really liked the way multi-classing was handled back then. Went on hiatus and came back for 3.5, which is essentially pathfinder, and it's still great, easily abusable in terms of MIN-MAXing, but fun. Got into pathfinder when Paizo lost the publishing rights to the Dungeon and Dragon magazine when they went digital. My last dungeon magazine in my subscription ended up being the first pathfinder AP book

Played a bit of of 4th ed when it came out and I actually like it. Really like the concept of minions, but combat takes forever. Curious to see what 5th ed has in store.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

I still have most of my Dungeon Magazines, like from issue 89 to 240. Might have a few earlier ones as well. Probably have 2 years of Dungeon as well when it first came out, not sure on the volume numbers.

I pretty much stopped playing from about 1992, after college, until 2011 when I started playing PF.

Been playing various systems since I was a teenager. Most magazines and modules are gone now since I couldn't take them with me in my new place.

My first games were diceless affairs at school DM'd by a kid whose big brother wouldn't let him play. Never saw a rulebook, but with what I know now I can deduce that his big brother must have been playing 1E AD&D :)

When I got my own swag and started running games it was mentzer basic. The BECMI boxed sets starting with the red box.

Then I switched to AD&D 2nd Ed but I still kept a lot from mentzer.

Started with 3.5 about 3 years ago, moved to Pathfinder after finding out about the local PFS. Since then I've turned tabletop gaming into a hobby that has supplanted cured my unhealthy addiction to video games. I play all types now and have fun learning new systems with my friends. Its also a good way to stay social.

OK, just finished a long stretch at work, got the next couple days off.

I already have a good map for the hostage shack.

Haha, I bought Diablo 3 today. I was like "where have I seen this monk before" then it clicked. It's the image token I used for that Hecatite Monk that beheaded the paladin.

Well this was unexpected. Someone I work with went full retard and I had to actually escort him from Argentina to Quantico. My eight year old laptop officially died the night I got there. Have one more flight to get back to Arg, but I'll be available until that takes off tonight. Give me a few minutes to catch up. My life was never this exciting before I started doing PbP...

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

I'm sure, it was always this exciting, you just didn't record it.

What can I say? I'm an exciting person.

I added tree icons to the battle map to show where the grove is that the party is watching from.

I just drew in the front door, and the chicken coop (orange rectangle) and cauldron (purple circle) in the front yard.

Easter Sunday so busy, busy ;)

Bot Raziel if needed. You all know his drill - scout and report.

This should be an interesting fight but after that I hope you guys head to the dungeon soon. I ran the second level of the Mouth of Doom dungeon in table-top this weekend and I forgot how cool parts of it are.

You shouldn't have put a "damsel in distress" in front of a new group of adventurers then haha. Don't worry though, Eli is as anxious for it as you are and as soon as this is done and they've had a chance to rest, he's definitely going to be pushing for our first excursion.

The whole "Company of the Crying Maiden" was a randomly generated random encounter ;)

"GOGOGOGOGO!!!" /Raziel

gogogogo

Go-go

Stylistic origins : Funk
Cultural origins: Mid-to-late 1970s, US
Typical instruments: Drum kit, keyboards, synthesizer, conga, timbales, cowbell, bass guitar, electric guitar, saxophone, brass instrument

Go-go is a subgenre associated with funk that originated in the Washington, D.C., area during the mid-1960s to late-'70s. It remains primarily popular in the area as a uniquely regional music style. A great number of bands contributed to the early evolution of the genre, but The Young Senators, Black Heat, and singer-guitarist Chuck Brown and The Soul Searchers are credited with having developed most of the hallmarks of the style.[1]

I'm sure sure we'll get there soon, hopefully with these characters :D

I admit I am enjoying the sidetrek - I can't shake the sensation that it adds more depth to it all. I like it.

Sometimes random isn't totally random.

I designed my tables so randomly generated content can still have meaning. It makes it fun for me because I don't know what's going to happen next.

Not sure if I should bot the fella's....

Might as well

Raz just showed up, guess he was hiding in the furniture!

I already told you - Raziel is always around, you just don't see him... MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!

worried about hounds... blinding disease is nastay...

and q ;)

Please feel free if it's needed. This has been a long weekend already, and the next two weeks are only going to get worse, I fear. None of my inspections have ever gone like this, I was not expecting it at all. I just got home, it's 9pm and I've been awake/working since 6am. I'll be able to post once or twice per day, but all the posting sprees happen when I'm otherwise engaged. ALWAYS. Even on calm days... Whatever, I'll find a way to make it work.

No problem I was just trying to think of what you would do. Also I was checking if others were hanging around because if not, why not just wait right?

If other people are hanging in the wings it seems worth it to bot a PC though I think.

Yeah, by all means. Don't let me hold up combat. All I really do is hit things with the sword anyway. I forgot I have power attack, so I'll start using that more often. Out of combat I just grumble and go along with everyone else at the moment. Once we get into MoD, though, I'm really going to have to reign myself in so I don't run off and get killed lol.

Yeah don't go anywhere I've been reading some cool stuff that ties in with your backstory last couple days.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Good grief, I go out for a few hours and we have 17 posts. Hope I am still alive.

Hound thinks he's blind but he's not :D

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Bah, he is probably fighting using scent anyway.
