Adya climbs on the things back, and puts her hands on the sword.
"One... Two... Three!"
and she yanks it out.
The gorrialia yanks hard and the paladin precisely slices into the beast
Ellen rips both fangs out with a show of brute force.
As soon as it's master started pulling a small invisible creature begins flying backward with all the strength found in it's tiny body while gripping onto the wing, reveling in destroying such a large creature
the creature falls apart, all that remains the torn off parts.
The gorilla pounds it's chest before fluidly transforming into it's natural form "La'Vassa gets biggest part, La'Vassa is strong!"
"Then what about a spar."
Ellen challenges while getting into a relaxed fighting stance with a excited grin on her face.
"La'Vassa has biggest part, there is nothing to contest there, you can also be strong, La'Vassa supposes"
"fine, ruin the fun." she says with a sigh. stepping out of her stance, Ellen looks around at the battle field.
"now, here is a question. just where are we? last thing I knew was running in to some ruins to fight a basilisk, a portion of the fight, then I woke up in the ruins and my team was gone. Most likely I was petrified. so better question. Just how am I alive?"
with the battle over and actually finding other people her situation starts to dawn on her.
"La'Vassa has answer and guess, Answer first, we are just outside Erith, very fun town, many varried peoples, as to guess La'Vassa guesses that magic is why you are alive, perhaps fate"

"Ellen, was it? without your shooting it out of the air this would be a much more chalanging fight. Adya, wrestling the dang thing... That was amazing, maybe a little bit insane, but nonetheless very impressive, and Ruby, your speed and agility were a sight to behold, you did a great job distracting it so that it wouldn't finish me off, and I'd love to look at your weapon later, it looks to be of fine craftsmanship, and La'Vassa-"

Adya twirls her sword before she sheathes it.
"Fate's just as much a load of nonsense as luck. I say we all just keep moving on and living our lives, you know? We choose who we are, and what we do. And reality decided how things work out from there."
"And none of that information helps me figure out why I am alive."
Ellen mumbles to herself. Then zones back in and hears what Ayda says.
"yeah I could drink to that." as she says this her hands wrap the fangs in some spare cloth.
"Pretty boy paladin here would probably tell you is good luck with the magics of the area or the will of the gods the lady here would probably tell you is fate, preordained, paladin's scaly friend would point to mortals in need of your skills . La'vassa tell you that you need not care, you are alive, so live! No use worrying about why, it'll cause grey fur"
"Hay, hold on! Yure a coriour, right?"
Ruby pauses "Yes I am, do you want something delivered?" Her eyes sparkle with greed.
"No, not at all. In fact, I'm offering you, all of you a new job. This town does need some new faces. People to be on top of it all- people to respect and revere, people who will make people feel safe from the primal beasts."
"La'Vassa is indeed worthy of being respected and revered you are not the first to task her with such."
"Antony, no, not really. And... Ruby. I will tell you this once. Do not. Call me. A kobold. my name is Adya, and I am the captain of the town guard. If for some reason you must refer to me by race, I'm half kobold, quarter elf, quarter human."

Adya sighs."And I'm sorry about my outburst. I doubt you really understand why I'm angry, having never been on my side of the issue."

Adya starts to twitch a bit, her temper starting to get the better of her. Indeed, she Probobly does have dragon blood, like all kobolds- for what, but a dragon could turn from calm to unrelenting wrath in a mere moment?

Adya reaches up to shake the hand and nods.
"Sorta. I need people willing to take on the primal beasts, and act as faces for the town. People to help give people hope that we aren't just going to end up killed by those things. And considring what we've done here... I think we're on the right track."she sighs.
"But it doesn't pay much. We can offer a house in the town, food, and more or less any minor luxury you'd like, but... That's about it. If you get enough people to respect you, you might get gifts, but I don't have any real power over that."
"guardsmen, hmm, not a bad job,.. wait what war?"
Ellen takes a thoughtful position by leaning on her bow, and realizes just what Ayda said.
"if it means protecting innocent people then you can count on me."Ruby sighs looking down in mild shame " And I am truly sorry for offending you, I... I did not mean to do so."

"Ah well, the leader of the Devils used to be Asmodeous, paragon of law and evil, but he's stepped down a while back and promoted this beurocratic devil who turned hell, or at least the section under his direct control into a beurocy instead of the usual fire and brimstone... From what I've been told it's definitely an upgrade for the souls within, but maybe not much of one. These new Devils claim ethical neutrality and uphold law as the cornerstone of society. I'm not sure I trust them, but I'm giving them the same benefit of the doubt I try to give to all sentints until I knew more"
