Outside of the temple, unaffected by the energy Jost calls forth, the wolf raises its own hands and makes two quick motions in Jost's direction before clasping them above its chest.

A whispering can be heard around it but the words are indecipherable. They first seem to be a language you might know but soon reveals itself as an alien tongue with alien sounds.

Gezzo and Lryhla seem to not be affected by the wave of energy emanating from Jost, but Thorgrim feels it slam into him for 10 points of damage!

Flug casts a spell at Jost 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 1 = 14...and his foe seems suddenly to become paralyzed and freezes in place!

While Celif loads her crossbow, Nastrod casts a spell of Doom at Jost 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17. . . but it does not seem the spell was effective.

Rufina moves to L-13 and attacks Monk-J with a flurry of blows!

Thorgrim and Imowen get hammered by flailing fists, but luckily neither is stunned by the attacks.

Imowen strikes Monk F with her mace, which seems to leap at the foe of its own accord! It strikes the monk in the head, crushing its skull and rendering it instantly dead!

Gezzo lashes out at Jost and strikes him for seven damage, while the monk stands paralyzed!

Jost seems to come to his senses, and he takes a 5-foot step away from Gezzo and points to the floor...and instantly two skeletons appear and attack Gezzo with their claws!

Thorgrim steps forward and attacks Jost who is up on the lecturn (higher elevation and partial cover = -2 to your attack roll; but, you still hit him.). The barbarian's greatsword is swung with such force that it cuts Jost in two, killing him!

Gezzo and Lryhla also attack, striking at the skeletons summoned by Jost, but both attacks miss!

Group 2: The Monks

Monks A and D start climbing the western steps to the lecturn, and A tries to attack Gezzo Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 and somehow it overcomes the protection from evil and strikes with its claws 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 and 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21, striking him for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 seven points of damage!

Monks C, G, H and I surround Thorgrim, each striking out with a flurry of fists and feet, elbows and knees...

Just as his lame leg hits the ground, Nastrod pivots on it, using the weight of the magical blade to continue in an arc towards the walking dead monstrosity.

Nastrod steps forward and swings his flaming sword at Monk B. The blade successfully strikes critically, killing the creature with one blow and reducing it to a burning pile of flesh!

Flug advances and attacks Monk K, and his morningstar strikes the creature, but does not seem to cause much damage!

Celif:
As you advance toward the columns with the glowing orbs, you can sense a powerful aura of evil permeating the area. Jost cast a spell before his demise that may be the cause. An adequate skill roll might determine what is going on.... Also, Flug just struck a monk, but didn't seem to cause much damage. Knowledge Religion would aid the group in determining the best way to defeat the remaining foes.

Gezzo:
As you gain the top level of the stone lectern, you notice that there are three glassy areas built into the railing portion, all pointing north. They seem to have images in them, although it is difficult for you to determine what they are showing during the heat of combat.

At DC 11 it probably wouldn't have mattered, but I didn't spot any Will saves against the Sanctuary. Auto-succeed?

The breath knocked out of her, Celif staggers to the side (5' Step to I12) before summoning all her strength and flinging her hands outward as she rises unsteadily.

Rufina seems to be affected by the healing, as she gasps, but remains unconscious...

Your knowledge lets you determine the following facts. Jost cast a Desecrate spell within the temple, designated by the grey circle. The spell provides bonuses to any undead within its boundaries. It may be undone by casting a Consecrate spell. Both the monk zombies and the skeletons have resistances to certain types of attacks. The skeletons are best harmed with blunt weapons, and the zombies are best harmed by slashing weapons.

You cannot step to K-7 - the lecturn is 5 feet high above the floor, and would require a climb action. You can move to K-7 up the eastern stairs, but that would provoke attacks of opportunity. Please rethink your after-attack options.

Thorgrim heaves his greatsword and strikes in a circular fashion! The heavy blade smashes into monks H and C, thoroughly destroying both creatures!

Gezzo and Lryhla both attack skeleton #1, and between them both manage to inflict enough damage to destroy it!

Gezzo:
The glass panes appear to be connected magically to some of the holy symbols in the area. One shows an image facing south from the chapel of the monastery grounds and entrance; one shows the interior of the chapel, facing west; and one shows the courtyard area between the monastery and chapel, facing south. You remember seeing large symbols facing each area, in locations unreachable without special equipment.

Skeleton #2 tries to claw Gezzo Will Save:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 and it manages to overcome the Protection from Evil and strikes 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 and 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21, raking him for 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 three points of damage!

Monks G and I continue their pursuit of Thorgrim, flailing in fluries of blows with fists and knees:
