...for those who are still around: setting aside discussion the shard with Fintan, what do you have in mind to do? More "magical" adventures such as seeking the Spear of Lugh and the Sword of Nuada? Do you want to get involved in the political in-fighting that is going on in light of the upcoming crowning of a High King? Or perhaps you would like to get involved in the affairs of the Church of Ireland?
Inquiring minds want to know in order to prepare accordingly!
I won't lie I want the politics... I know that's bad because my character isn't built for it in any way, but I just enjoy that kind of thing so much! XD
My second one would he hunting down the spear and sword. I mean we have one piece may as well collect them all.
I am pretty easy either way, although the more 'magical' would be where I would naturally lean. Having said that, Ruadhán's kids probably push him more towards the political until he can get them out once he feels he has earned a place in Tuaim. I will admit that I myself am less used to the more political games (although interested) so my responses are often slower when I have to think out my character's position beyond hacking and slashing.
Shadow is dealing with RL and I wish him the best. Thorun is on vacation. So I'll wait for O'Maille to share his interests, take a few days to prep things, and get the ball rolling slowly...
In the meantime, a few things:
1) You may end up being able to do a bit of this and a bit of that, keeping in mind that you'll have to travel and that you can't very well travel without meeting people!
2) For Ruadhan: my assumption is that bringing your kids to Tuaim would require nothing more than the permission of any ocaire of boaire (or any noble, to be clear) willing to vouch for you and take the kids under their roof.
3) Aoife, your assumption is quite right: playing politics as a slave will be near impossible! Patience... I'm just waiting for the right time to... Well, I guess that you'll have to wait and find out...

Hmm.. Well, the magical artifact gathering sounds fun, but at the risk of sounding cliche, what would be our motivation to do so?

@Amergin. Yeah, I figure Ruadhán would want to have proved his worth, preferably to the King (or Fintan) as well. So he isn't quite ready to start asking people for shelter.

@ O'Maille: Motivation...? Well, you already know that there is more out there than God. But these artefacts could change everything, decide the course of the war to come, and potentially do great harm to the church if the narrative is not controlled.
So... Find the items to make sure nobody else does? Find them to make sure they end up in the hands of the church, keeping in mind that pagan artefacts were often reinvented as Catholic?
Or because – and this is probably most important – your God-given vision led you this far? Don't forget what you saw in Boho before the battle...
FYI: I will be AFK pretty much all weekend, but I'll get things going anew on Monday.
At this point, I am giving Brother O'Maille a chance to intervene. Also, I think that Thorun just got back... In any case, I am moving in the next few days, so I don't expect to get the next chapter started until the beginning of next week – which gives you all a chance to discuss what you would like the next chapter to be!

Magic item searching is always fun, and the politics sounds more interesting to me than the church. So yes, the consensus of the group matches what I desire as well.
However in character Thorun will likely be too inwardly drawn to voice an opinion for the time being.

If RL isn't leaving room for PbP, I totally get it. And I am fine with leaving characters in Tuaim for a while, while players deal with stuff. The door is always open if ever you want to take a leave of absence and come back!

Still no news from O'Maille. I hope that he is ok. I'll give it another day and allow Thorun and Kassidy time to intervene as well. After that, We'll evaluate how to proceed. I am entirely ok with leaving some characters in Tuaim...
That being said, I don't think that I would move ahead with fewer than four characters, so I may end up recruiting one or more new players.

...to answer your question about Beltane, Cobhlaith: obviously it is a pagan holiday, but pagan beliefs and the church have long co-existed. For fun, and to pay homage both to these old ways and to Saint-Patrick who once lit a fire as a means to contest these pagan practices, we'll say that the current tradition in the 12th century, in this neck of the woods, is to light a great fire in the middle of the night, like in the old days... and then to pray until dawn for some sort of redemption!

I can recommend Notepad++, it's what I use for writing up character sheets and lengthy posts. It keeps a copy of a draft even when the programme is closed. You have to actively close the tab with the draft before it even asks whether you wish to save or not.

I just noticed my phone changed Daire's name to Dalre... well we can neither run with it as she was likely young when he left and never really knew him or you can play pretend and keep what she said.
Fun fact: in 1166, the date for Easter was April 24, barely a week from Beltane.

Do you really know the date of Easter in 1166 off the top of your head? Or would you have had to calculate it, as i did?
I was just mentally meandering about spring rites and Beltane and it popped into my head to figure out how closely Easter had lined up that year, so then I had to go figure out the date for Easter.
