Deep in the halls of Kel Mar, the last dwarven stronghold, an echo stirs. Heroes are called forth to save their homes and traditions, lest they be lost forever...
It's official, not only is sarcasm completely lost in a pbp, irony is apparently indecipherable as well. ;) I just saw a preview for The Hobbit yesterday... if that helps.

Maybe it's just text in general, whatever the medium. I thought the hobbit reference would do the trick, that and my possibly incorrect assumption that everyone is a Tolkien fan? The whole native English speaker thing would probably be a contributing factor, I agree. On that note; where are you all from? I live in Utah, USA.
MA USA born in KA tho lol Sarcasm is def lost in txt. I should have gotten the reference... sad day. On the other hand a snow white reference may have been lost in translation too.
My poor sense of humor doesn't translate either. Sorry. It was supposed to be facination.
Ferbell you are correct sir. Had I thought about it I would have said spelling police lol.
Americans, in general, use poor grammar. When speaking with someone, and the speaker uses incorrect grammar or incorrect words, someone listening to the conversation will point out the speakers mistake. That person is then given the nickname 'grammar police' because they are seen as more concerned about correct grammar, rather than just continuing the conversation.
You pointed out Kilaim's misspelling of fascination, "facinatiln." So he jokingly referred to you as the grammar police.
Ha ha ha...we are so funny :P Nice to see the group we have here. As soon as I can type up the story I'll post it in the gameplay section.
As to the locale it's a homebrew map I've created, because I don't want to get caught up into Pathfinder lore(I don't know much.) The essential is that your race of dwarves is a sect that was split off from the main group in Varisia thousands of years ago. You have your own timeline(that you will have a hand in crafting) but retain much of the culture and customs. The main place you need to know is the Marzol mountains which span the north east corner of the world which you live. Throughout these mountains are various dwarven settlements with Kel Mar being the dwarven capitol. It's there that the story will begin.
When I can I will post a map of the area, but I don't know when I will get it up.
Just a quick background on me, Im from Connecticut, originally but have been doing some international consulting work for awhile... But I am really stoked.
Been too a busy day, last night the wife and kids got home from being gone 3 weeks! So I took a day off work (and posting) and had me some family time! Now, sunburned and sleepy, I shall dive right in. Sorry for the delay!
I hope the fish out of water mechanic works for my character. Can I name "the Expanse" for this setting or you would like to because its your world? :)
