You clanking bucket of bolts!

The next few days will be busy for me work and game wise too (Rosey and I will meet the real-life creator of IT!) so no worries.

Coolio! Say hi to "IT" for me! :)

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I think Pat is at this point being shown the sights and sounds of small town Yorkshire. Or asleep with jet-lag! :D

Asleep with jet-lag. Some small sighting and seeing was done, but as Fabes will confirm, it's raining like it's Ashenport.

But with a delightful hostess and host, no trouble. Look forward to meeting Fabes tonight.

It really is Ashenport here today. Minus the beach. And fishmen. Cultists, yeah, we got them.

You shall probably see me carrying costumes galore.

Been a while since we used this thread! ;)

Just a note,
On Friday I'm escaping to the beach this weekend (again!) because my kids have a three day weekend from school. I might be in in the morning, but if not, I'll be back on Tuesday.

Laters!

Have fun. Every time I go near the coast these days I have a watchful eye out for pallid fishmen, but maybe that's just me.

I realised that Ashenport (although based on Lovecraft's New England) could also be Whitby.

It's also Castletown on the Isle of Man with similarly strange opening hours and incomprehensible groups of people moving around an eerily empty town.

I'm Baaaaaack!
Physically, have to wait till tomorrow for mentally,...
;P
Nighters,

PS-And NO fish men were spotted during the weekend! But there were several strange clumps of seaweed moving against the current,...

HAppy "Day After Thanksgiving"

AKA- "Black Friday"

AKAA- "I ate too much, so now I'm going to sit on the sofa and moan all day" day!

:)

Rags - can you explain "Black Friday" to an ignorant Brit?

I would be happy to over-ellucidate!
;P

Traditionally, all of the insanity known as 'Holiday Sales' start here with a 'big' kickoff on the day after Thanksgiving. Since Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday, the first day of sales is always on Friday. And 'Black' refers to the fact that no one in their right mind wants to fight their way through the crowds, but we always do anyway.

Nevermind the fact that the 'sales' are usually poorly lowered, (if lowered at all!) prices that have simply been hyper-advertised. And that every idiot and their dog will be out trying to take advantage of the nonexistent sales,.... and that you can easily save money by waiting a week or two and getting the same thing ACTUALLY on sale,... oh, wait, I digress,...

Um,... Clear as mud? Good! Glad to help!
:)

The more conventional explanation of it being "Black" Friday is that it's the day retailers start making a profit -- i.e., operating "in the black."

I've also heard that, in the days of overcoats, the streets would be clogged by shoppers in their black winter coats.

Thank you both kindly. It's like our January sales then, which traditionally start on 26 December.

Oh, we have those, too!

Dec. 26 has become the second busiest shopping day of the year, the stores taking advantage of everyone coming in to exchange unwanted gifts.

Heh. I think that Pat O's explanation of the 'black' may be more official. But I still like mine! ;P

Yep, the two days I try to NEVER step foot out of the house, the day after Thanksgiving, and the day after Christmas! There's just something about being in those crowds,... makes me want to pull out my broadsword and go medieval! ;)

It looks like Hopeless has vanished off the boards - not posts since mid-October. Do you think we should get someone else in to play him?

How much further do we have to go?

I've been wondering the same thing - he's in one of my games and was planning to be back at the end of October once he'd moved house and got re-connected. I know BT can take their own sweet time over that, but two months seems excessive.

I think given the time left, I might as well carry on playing him, upon reflection.

Too tired, and too sick, to post,

But MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

And to all a good nights sleep!

~Rags

Sorry all, been real busy, and driving to the land of the blizzard (Oklahoma) in the morning. Probably won't have access till next Sun or Mon.

Carry on without me if you must, I understand! But I promise to catch up when I get back!

And Happy New Year!

~Rags~

He's BAAACK! (SOrtof, physically,...)

Catching up to all as quick as I can!

Hope everyone had a happy holiday!

Welcome back. We've had snow as well. Still have it in fact. In some quantity by our feeble standards :)

<WARNING> <WARNING>
THIS UNIT SHALL BE OFFLINE (at home at least) UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

WHILE THIS UNIT ATTEMPTS TO CONSTRUCT A DIABOLICAL 'DO-IT-YOURSELF' FURNITURE UNIT

(IN other words, I have to take apart my little PC corner while I try to put together my new monster-desk. I HOPE to get it done tonight, but reality says it will take a couple of days. SO posts will be relegated to work hours.)

Thank you, and wish me luck!

~Rags

Rags, I just have this image of Manny fighting with an flatpack assembly kit and losing so, so badly.

"Well fraggit shrimp-mongering ... mumble mumble ...BIRTHDAY ... dangnabbit ... IT! ... why do you just hit things? Didn't I programme you to build desks? ..."

ROFLMAO!

That's not too far from how it went! (Maybe a little more cussing, and probably not nearly as funny, at least not to me!) ;P

But it is all together now. And it looks bee-yoo-ti-ful! NOW i have to go and ruin the effect by putting all of my junk back on it! ;P

I actually try to get a new desk every few years, because that gives me an excuse/reason/forces me too actually organize and clean my C!@# up! :)

As side note, I did NOT make the 32, but I will post my item online tonight in hopes that I shall learn something that will propel me to the top next year!

Shame about the top 32, but there are other years and I'm sure you'll get useful feedback.

The desk every few years is inspired. I may have to try that. Except, of course, my desk used to belong to my father, so although the theory is great, the emotional attachment is too great for that to happen. It should though. Clutter is what you can see on the surface of chaos.

I built a desk too on New Year's Day. :D

Finally got round to updating. Rags, I took Manny's turn.

Pat - IT needs to make a basic melee attack.

Hi all, as you can probably tellm you are drawing close to the final reckoning in dear old Ashenport.

Just wondering who will be up for further adventures with these guys? I have one in mind already which will be great.

Hey, Fabes, all.

I'm continuing to scale back (gradually, this time), so IT will probably pass on the next outing. Thanks, though!

That's cool; Manny can leave him in the workshop! Thanks for letting me know.

If Akahale survives, he's love to go another paranoid adventure. His player would rather like to rebuild him a bit if that's acceptable though.

Of course, and that applies to everyone as well.

Heh, Manny will miss having IT to grumble to/about!

But the manic mage is ALWAYS up for another excursion! :)

(male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact))

"Mage Mandrake, please be aware that there is a large pit in front of you. I shall take notes."

Redotting

A Question for you all (or rather, several questions):

1) Do any of you play Savage Worlds? Or would you be interested in trying it?

2) If so, would you like to be a player in a PbP Savage Worlds conversion of Kingmaker?

3) If so again, would you be averse to it being played on Google Wave?

I know, it sounds like a niche of a niche, but it would be interesting to find out as I really want to run it.

Hm,... I know not this 'Savage World' of which you speak, but I didn't know a LOT of games before I played them! ;)

I also don't know 'Google Wave' but as long as it isn't a paid service, Heck, I'll try anything once, twice if I like it! (That gets me in SO much trouble!) ;P

So yeah, I'm game! (Pun intentional) :D

Rags - The quick-start rules for Savage Worlds are Here.

Thx Rev, looks interesting. I'd give it a whirl.

BTW all, I am about to get SLAMMED here at work, so posting may be irregular for the next 2 weeks. I SHOULD have time to post daily, but they won't be my usual novelettes. ;P

Thanks all!

Repeat-
:(

Sorry for absence,
Tech week for the musical, (Which I'm also IN), so a little past insane right now.

SHOULD be back by the weekend.

Laters~

Redot... again. So this last fight was a level, yes?

It would appear so, but of course, you won't gain a level until you have taken an Extended Rest (not recommended at this point of course).

So for the first time in well forever I have my own home. Well a motel room. But no more sleeping on floors and hoping I can sleep a friend's of familys house :)

The bad news I'll be offline a whole lot more than norm. Not dropping out let me say that, but my posting times will be... delayed.

OK, thanks for letting us know. Hope it works out for you. Fingers crossed.

So I've learned that I will have to step away from the computer longer than I thought. While I jump on my families computer whenever I drop by, it's a 10 mile ride here. 30 if you include taking me home and traveling back. To add on to it having to follow the doctor's orders I need to lose weight. Even though he's at a loss for what I can do since strecthing, bending, walking long distances, jumping, ect are out. Anyway so he's having me look at gyms in town to enroll in.

Since being away extendedly and with this it looks like I have to walk away from alot of my favorite pbps... sob... sob. Gah this sucks, but life over gaming right? RIGHT??

Fabes thanks for letting me in and I hope I can jump in on another game in the future. Sorry to leave you guys hanging :(

I can vouch that the gym will have benefits. Good luck, and thanks for playing! I think we will all fondly remember crazy old Seram Zal; thanks as well for stepping in as Rowan. Take care.

Chris

Best of luck, Laz. Keep in touch!
