Ameo Wanstell |
Hearing this strange voice in his mind, Ameo thinks to himself. I hope I do not regret this but they may be peaceful.... Or its a trap.
With that Ameo reveals himself. Unsure what to do, he just stands there Naked, Waves, and Says Hello. In each of his planets languages.

Skyscale went over to examine the critter that had attacked them... "Is this dead? Or is it still asleep? How do we tell?""
Ameo Wanstell |
Trying to talk slowly so she will understand him, he says:
I wish you no harm. I woke up here in a cage. My people are of Magic. If you are hurt, I can use my magic to heal you. Perhaps we can all find our way out of here together.

Once I have a start I try and work from that. Its slow, yours was closest to any of the languages I know, The other two us, one is a kind of fey talk I'm getting better with that, the new one using a logical mechanical from. that's harder much harder, Im mossing a lot of words. She walks over and looks at it.
"I have no idea, the implants mean I could not hold one and look into its mind. Also I was trying hard not to have them eat me."

"Come"
And starts to walk to the odd door with writing on it.
If they follow she will stop in front of it and try and read the text.

Rather bored at hearing a bunch of creatures babble in a variety of tongues he has never heard of, Korash enters a meditative trance, committing to memory the events he has witnessed in the last hour, as well as pondering his current circumstances and the philosophical nature of imprisonment. Autohypnosis: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Eventually, when everyone starts moving again, he'll follow.
Ameo Wanstell |
I do not know where those creatures come from. I had not seen them before this hallway.
Ameo Points at the door. Maybe we go through there. He then points at the pad next to the door that Calista is looking at. I believe that is just decorations. I examined it earlier. Very strange decorations, but hey I am not going to judge another culture.
Ameo attempts to push the door, then pull the door to open it.
Skyscale |
Vrog Skyreaver |
Arriving at the door at the end of the hall, you can see that it is the same as the doors you saw that led into the cells in the previous hallway. It appears similar to frosted glass, is sized for a large-sized creature, and has a rectangular metal piece built into the wall next to it.
The writing looks like a series of geometric shapes, although it's clear that it's some sort of communication because the shapes repeat.
As the previous doors, this one has no handle. From Skyscale's previous experimentation, he knows that the door is designed to sink into the floor.
As your group progresses down the hallway, Skyscale discovers something interesting about the flooring: his claws can penetrate it, up to a point. the black material it is made of feels.....soft where his claws push into it, yet it seems to resist scratches exceptionally well.
Examining the cracks in the wall, Skyscale discovers that like a tree, this wall appears to be made up of layers of metal that are somehow stuck together. Ironically enough, the flooring seems almost completely unaffected by her "spell", and it doesn't crack from the force of it, but it is depressed down and seems to be slowly rising back up, although given the rate it's going it will probably take several hours before it returns to it's former shape.
Skyscale |
He looks up.
"Trees are very tall on my world. They make up hundreds of my height. How tall do you think this tree is?"
Isabela Calista De Romano |
"That's good to know sky, some kind of metal laminate, we have that but on our space craft, its for shielding, when space stones or [unknown word] it it from a fun flare. I only know the basics, I my task was not to make such craft. The floor dos seem odd, my power had no effect on it that I could see as we passed. Could be designed to take impacts or [unknown word]. Its manufacture must be costly"
She says this is all the languages she is working with.
"Our naked friend here, says he dos not know anything of the spider-cats"
guys if you wish to ask or pass a message between each other Lizzy will auto-translate as best she can"
"Sky says the walls are some kind of metal laminate/layered/leaf layer build, but the floor is soft. This is a constructed place."
She now starts to push and pull all the parts and plates on and around the door, to see if any are buttons, switches, slots.
She also puts the text to memory,
Autohypnosis1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
As she works say says to him
"You look [near like me Male], but your not, I know an Aasimar or [unknown word] when I see one, had [unknown word] with more than a few. The eyes and the [unknown word] always give it, That [unknown word] touched, yet you don't know Root Celestial, odd. If you need clothing best use the red gel in a cell. Your about as close to a [unknown word] as I have seen so far. What's you name/called again?"
Ameo Wanstell |
I am known as Ameo Wanstell. You may call me Ameo. My people are very experienced magic users of all kinds. I do not know what an As..im..ar is. Never heard of that. I had a theory that there may be people from other planets. Is it possible that we are from different planets? And the fact that we look so similar. Is there greater meaning behind that?
Ameo turns and points at Skyscale. Calista, Does that beast intend to eat that man? Or is he looking for a place to bury him?
Ameo speaks to Calista, but it sounds like gibberish. At one point he quickly points to Skyscale, while muttering with Calista.
Skyscale |
Isabela Calista De Romano |
She translates, telling Ameo what sky said back.
She then bounds on all the panles , plates and parts of the door.
She looks at you oddly when you say magic, A little disbelief on her face.
"Yes we are from a number of different star systems, planets not in touch with each other.Hells they may even not be in the same Galaxy. My own Galaxy has something like 300 Billion star systems and some Billion Billion planets, it is some 100,000 120,000 light years Diameter and about 1,000 light years thick. And that's just one Galaxy there are some Billion Billion Billion in the visible universe. Ever hear of a black whole, I have seen two collide, makes planet so called dainties seem like a single rain drop in a thunderstorm. You want real monsters you go get close to a near infant gravity well. As for magic, no such thing, just unknown psionics linking to the lower sub space energy grid. Only primitives call it magic because they don't know any better."
She smiles, knowing you want get most of that
Ameo Wanstell |
You must come from a truly advanced civilization. I wonder just how far apart our worlds are. My people have not traveled to other planets, but we do have the ability to travel to other planes.
DM - can we tell if this door is air tight?
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Ameo will cast detect magic on the door.
Vrog Skyreaver |
Even with your knowledge of technology, you have never seen the type of tech it would take to make millimeter thin sheets of metal and layer them together, much less get them to stick. Whatever race made these, they are clearly incredibly technologically advanced.
As Isabela begins to beat on the doors, she has a moment of inspiration and hits the metal panel. It pushes in ever so slightly, and the door slides down with a near silent hiss.
The room beyond is a large rectangular room that is well lit with a large door set into the center of each of the walls. The color on the walls, however, is the most interesting thing in this room, mainly because it appears to be moving from top to bottom, rolling down the wall in a sharp red color. The door to your left is has darkness behind it, as does the one straight ahead. the door to your right, however, has light shining through the glass. You can see a large shape beyond that is not moving.
Isabela Calista De Romano |
"where I am from you think or talk at a door and it opens, this place is a crazy mix, tech so advanced I have no idea how they do it and stuff so old it's Anteek, like pressure pads, you depress them the door opens, like a old time elevator call button. "
Or push to open in each language.
She walks into the new space, looking at each door,
"if darkness means more spider cats, let's go for light"
She also sees if the is s close pad inside the room next to the door they just came in.
And close it, then try and open the door to the light.
Skyscale |
Ameo Wanstell |
Calista, I agree with you. Lets stay in the light for now. My only question is what is that behind the door?
Ameo points toward the door with light beyond as he talks.
Skyscale |
Skyscale keeps trying to pin the paint against the wall, using his foreclosed to try to make the red stop sliding down.
Isabela Calista De Romano |
She closes the door behind them.
"Sky asks should we open all the doors, I think not right now, right now we need to know a way out 1st, then yes. The whole place is showing signs of alarm and danger, red lights tend to show such. If the two dark doors are full of invisible spider cats, there is the danger, they must have been like us, but got away, feeding on others a breeding. You saw the doors, to the cells they can get past them. Hell they could even be in here now with us and how would we know. I think who ever took us made a mistake with the spider cats. For a start there is more than one, note there is just one of us each, one sample of our races. Yet three of theirs. So danger from the cats. Thats my current thinking. "
She opens the door the the light and the large object there in.
Korash the Spiky |
Korash follows, quietly.
Vrog Skyreaver |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
There is indeed a metal panel on the inside of the door, and when depressed....nothing happens.
Moving to the only door with light on the other side, you push the metal panel and it slides down, revealing a Massively large open space, which appears to have racks of objects in them. As this door opens, the door that you previously walked through slides closed.
The large object you could see through the glass resolves itself into a rectangle of racks, each of which holds about 50 objects that look like metal clubs, of varying lengths.
The far side of the room is just barely visible, and just as in the previous room the walls have the color red which is scrolling down from top to bottom.
As Skyscale discovered in the previous room, the color can no be stopped or contained.
To give you guys an idea of scale, This section is about a quarter mile wide and tall.
The objects you see are clearly some sort of rifle. There are several different variants on a similar design.
Skyscale |
Favorited for 'the color can not be stopped or contained' Also. The room with the storage room is that size?
"I think you are right, Calista. The ribbon does not stop moving, even when I try to pin it to the wall. I believe it is behind a layer. Would you like for me to try to dig to it? I would like to see what it is made from."
He looked over into the new room as it opened. It was large. And full of things.
"If this cave does not already belong to someone... Dibs."
Korash the Spiky |
Korash ignores the others' chittering, and goes over to investigate the weapon rack. He begins quickly weighing the odd clubs, looking for ones of appropriate shape or balance to make an effective weapon, since his fists seem to be having trouble staying solid in this place.
Appraise: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Isabela Calista De Romano |
Calistra takes a moment to look into the room, then seeing the guns gos over to a rack and pulls one off.
"There not clubs, there Projectile or energy weapons of some kind"
She says as best she can to the others, She picks one up and looks for the safety and firing system.
Korash the Spiky |
Korash doesn't respond to this; he doesn't much care.
Isabela Calista De Romano |
"No sky not much point, its just a warring sign. This room how ever has a very large number of weapons, somewhere there are beings who would use them, so where are they? I have a very bad feeling I may know why we where captured and why I have implants. Its not nice thought Sky. But I need more information before I tell the others. I think we where are, Life targets. This room in fact is a shooting range and I think we where or have been the training aids. If so then who knows how many times we have been in here in the past. My only hope is where there are weapons there tends to be other supply's as well, armour and medical stuff."
she carry's on, seeing if they have sights. If they have some kind of projectile clip or power pack to activate the weapon.
She sees that Korash did not seem to understand not keeps working with the club like things.
"This room is impressive this building must be large on the outside."
Skyscale |
He sobered up slightly as he looked to Calista, "Why do you have implants?"
'Dance': 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 2 = 21 Using hands for something delicate He babbled something else to Calista before putting the club down with both feet resting on top of it, and looking to her to babble some more in her direction.
Isabela Calista De Romano |
She looks at the other two swinging the guns as clubs.
"Well thats one way to use them"
She seems to be looking at the sizes off the things,
Then down into them and looking over them carefully.
As she dos she talks
"Korash, this place I think was a place of sport, you said you fight in and others looked on for fun. I think is room was the same. We the sport. I see you have implants as well Korash, what do they stop you from doing?"
"Your homeworld, did that have guns? things that could shoot small objects fast. Faster then bows and arrows? The objects here are like that, they shoot things. Also check your body do you have metal things in it like me and Korash things our abductors placed in us?"
"I think they put them in me to stop me using my gifts on who ever used these weapons. I can... do things, things like make others do things they don't wish to. If I had been aware of the danger here bad things would have happened sky. My worry is I may have just done that. What I worry is that the things mine and Korash's body can alter our memory's and minds. If that is the case then we have may have been in this room many times, used as live targets for others to try and kill. We would not do so willingly. Would you like others to play with your mind and try an kill you for fun, sport or games? They could bring us in here and have fun killing others they had taken just like us. We may just have not been picked yet. Then something happened, something went wrong. The lights seem to indelicate this place is now in danger, could be the spider cats, could be they where found out and the security forces have come. We just don't know. I need to find out more Sky its imperative."
She talks to each in the group one at a time in a questioning tone.
Skyscale |
Skyscale may take 10 to perform any basic trick of flight, including hovering. He cannot turn more quickly than a 45 degree angle for every five feet he moves, nor rise directly upwards faster than a 45 degree angle.
Korash the Spiky |
"I don't know what implants you say do, or if to trust your guess on this. But something keeps me from fighting at best."
Vrog Skyreaver |
Sorry guys, I had to take the weekend off. I worked almost 60 hours last week, so this might modify what you have posted.
As Korash is swinging the club around
1d20 ⇒ 18
nothing happens. As Skyscale follows suit
1d20 ⇒ 7
again, nothing happens.
As Skyscale drops the club
1d20 ⇒ 5
once again nothing happens.
nm. carry on then.
While the weapon is very much rife shaped, you can find neither ejection port nor a place where the magazine is put in or removed.
Korash the Spiky |
It's got an obvious grip. Korash is just curious as to whether the weighting of the thing will let it deal damage like a normal club, greatclub, etc.
Isabela Calista De Romano |
GM looking at the image it's got an obvious grip. She will shoulder it and see of there is a firing stud or means to activate it. Pointing it down range and away from the others.
Calistra brings the object up to her shoulder and taking hold of the what looks to be obvious grip and shoulder mount point, She points it away from you down the room. She seems to be pressing things on the thing wile doing so.
Ameo Wanstell |
Guns? I do not know what that is. Perhaps that is like the Boom-Booms that the Zippies have. They have all sorts of strange technology. Most of the people on my world, can shoot projectiles from their hands, so not projectile clubs needed. The Zippies have less magic than most and as such require more craftsmanship to accomplish their goals.
Ameo checks his body over for any metal spikes that Calista mentions.
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
After seeing the clubs on the shelves, Ameo looks for anything else in the room of interest.

Isabela Calista De Romano |
She smiles at Ameo as she try's to fire the weapon now it was powered up.
"magic... right, must be what he calls Psionics on his world"
"Well if I can get this to go Zip or Zap you will see what I mean"
You can see she is working to get the thing to do something but what, who's knows, She keeps her hands well away from the power build up and where it may head as a ray. She is looking to see things on it, just not look down the spiky end or place her hands in its way.
