I'd like to say 'not Skyscale' but I'm fairly sure that's exactly who's being waited on in a literal sense. But I dunno. Maybe the DM's waiting for you guys to say you're coming to check on the MIA dragon? Did they mention I'd be gone for a while in one of the spoilers?
Skyscale |
Now who will be Skyscale's scratching post..? *eyes Korash*
Good luck in future endeavors!
Isabela_Calista_De Romano |
I'm going to drop out of thus game, sadly. It's not that I don't enjoy it, I do, but I can't seem to make myself post. :(
good luck DB3, and I know the feeling, slow start games where your off on your own for ages, it can get you like that.
----------Game----------
I'm waiting on the GM, she has an hour before sky comes back so she is trying like mad to get the gun/what ever to fire shoot. If it was a culture gun it would have an AI and ask her who she wanted to shoot, Also Calista can use firearms, but I'm expect more "nope" on that front.
As for levelling, has her powers are being blocked, as a PC class that's ALL about their powers it dos not really matter if she levels, she gets a few more HP and Skill point and more "nope"
so until she can be of use power/guns It will be you guys dealing with the spider cat infestation
GM
"The race that took all of you were certain that they were being beneficial when they did so."
so we where dead, now alive, AARRRRR its a ship of Zombies and we are he Zombies, the egg like thing, Sky dos it have a face on it, and is there a pee shooting plant?
Korash the Spiky |
Sorry to hear that, dude.
And Skyscale: You know Korash is covered in leaves and thorns, right? He's basically a tiny acacia tree
Skyscale |
:p that's why he's eyeing you :P
Korash the Spiky |
No I mean you scratch this guy, you come away with a paw full of thorns.
Skyscale |
Then he'll just have to be groomed first.. :3
Isabela_Calista_De Romano |
I think is funny that calista has some idea of what tech is, most of the stuff in her culture is Psionic based, but has no idea of magic and no idea how this super high really woks
Then her trying to explain to the other three,
"Look I think it's a techno babble echno babble echno babble, got that "
Hehe sky and eggs perfect.
Skyscale |
Skyscale has pretty much figured out that 'Tech' is the word Isabela uses for magic that she doesn't understand :P
Isabela_Calista_De Romano |
stumbled? o your pour sweet GM, nothing I ever say is stumbled. hehe
Sky that's perfect and just about true, if it was not for the fact Isabela knows magic is not real.
Arthur C Clarke's
Three Laws are three "laws" of prediction formulated by the British writer Arthur C. Clarke. They are:
1:When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2:The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
3:Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
or as as the Culture saying gos.
"If your technology is distinguishable from magic its obviously not advanced enough"
That's a joke within SC as magic is not real.
Skyscale |
Wombat... you're a monkey with a typewriter with your theories. :P You're just throwing pasta at the ceiling every minute to see when it sticks :P
Skyscale |
Since you enjoy theories: First theory was Arc. It went to Zoo as soon as we saw multiple of the same creature... although, it's entirely possible they breed by eating, like graboids.
I don't think alien tech is the problem we're going to run into. I think the problem is lack of understanding of each other. Things can and -will- use a Han Solo approach, so it becomes monster-of-the-week in many ways. Which is cool.
I'm suspecting the implants we have are more health regulation. Things like keeping us hungry, and happy and healthy and such, so the ship (and those on board) knows when something is going wrong. Specifically, something has gone wrong, and I'm fairly certain we haven't seen it, yet. Point of fact, I think I'll know it when we do.
Right now, the stuff we've ran into reminds me of Green Lantern more than anything. It suited us up to use the weapons that are available to us... once we found it... and perhaps we're meant to represent our people directly.
Finally, the universal sign for 'out of ammo' on any video game gun is a blinking series of numbers... so the gun probably isn't ready to be used.
I'm also fairly certain that if we paid attention, Korash and Isabela are both able to manifest their powers at the same time. Sky has no way to test that, though.
Skyscale |
On the front of leveling up... I tend to prefer to level -organically- rather than just going for what makes me strongest. Are there any skills or feats you think would fit Skyscale's playstyle so far? That's a question addressed to everyone that's read his goodies.
Also, Vrog: Do you happen to have any idea what the prereqs are for the Taninim feats?
Skyscale |
I'll probably invest in the pdf sometime soon, then. I -really- like Taninim, and having the full knowledge of them and what they can do as a race would go a long way in one of the adventures I'd like to one day run. :)
Skyscale |
Do you have anything against me taking:
Natural Sorcery (Su) The draconic exemplar has unlocked his latent draconic talent for arcane spellcasting. He gains the spells known and spells per day of a 2nd-level sorcerer. The draconic exemplar gains no other class features of a sorcerer, and does not gain access from this gift to the sorcerer/wizard spell list for the purpose of using spell trigger and spell completion items. If the draconic exemplar also has levels in the sorcerer class, he increases his effective sorcerer level by 2 (to a maximum of his character level) to determine spells known and spells per day. This gift can be learned up to three times. Each additional time this gift is learned, the draconic exemplar's effective sorcerer level increases by 2 to determine spells known and spells per day. The draconic exemplar must be at least 9th level to learn this gift.
And then dipping into it again by pretending I know what the prereqs are for Skyscale to take Extra Draconic Gift? If it's cool, I think I'd like to take it at level 9 and maybe 11. That'd mean I'd have 4th level sorcerer casting after level up, and 6th level sorcerer casting at level 11 or 12, but nothing else from sorcerer. That would also mean I'd have access to a few personal polymorphs for Sky to help him fit into the less 'dragon-friendly' places. :) I foresee a transmutation focus, for things like beast shape, alter self, and a few other buffing spells.
And yeah, I recognize he loses almost all of what he is when he transmutes into other forms. Which sucks. But a dragon's gotta do what a dragon's gotta do!
Ameo Wanstell |
So Ameo is still naked. Am I to understand he can wear the eggs as a space suit?
Skyscale |
Yeah, but I'm not really a fan of the way it works. Picking one single form to take 3/day, or getting a few relatively weak spells several times. I'd prefer the 'caster' format, I think. Natural draconic heritages are cool.
So 2x Natural Sorcery at 9, eating feat and gift? :) Cool.
Skyscale |
Actually, on that front, while bathing a dog, I thought about it. I like the idea of making it a more natural progression. At 9, feat and gift -> Animal and Humanoid forms. At 10, he gets the 'I can use wands as a wizard/sorcerer'. At 11, he'll gain Sorcerer 2 spells. At 12, sorcerer 4 spells, and at 13 sorcerer 6 spells. Optimized? Not at all. But organic? Heck yes.
Sound good so far?
Now if only there were a good 'castery' Draconic defense to take at 14, so that when he picks up air mastery to be able to become a cloud he'll have only been expressing further evolution of his magic all that time... I guess spell resistance is the best there is... I guess bleed resistance also represents his form control?
Korash the Spiky |
Right now, Korash can turn into a big tree. At level 10, he will be able to turn into a bigger tree. There is a feat I can get to turn into a *very* large tree, but it would set my standard size to large, which could be problematic (and it also requires a period of continuous access to sunlight as one of its prereqs). Then again, I'd also be able to get Gargantuan, which is of course comedy gold.
Skyscale |
Right up until the party builds a house inside of you :P
Hope you don't mind that he's trying to follow in your footsteps, Kor :p
Korash the Spiky |
Heh, you gave me the idea to consider gargantuan.
Skyscale |
I have no idea what that means :P
Skyscale |
Yeah, I saw in the Godhoodie thread. Seems odd. *shrugs*
I'm still a dragon... a stealth assassin ninja dragon! :)
Ameo Wanstell |
Really? Isabella seemed way into the character to just disappear like that.
Korash the Spiky |
Yikes! Yeah, that's a shame. Huh.
Skyscale |
You could also see if any of the others that -didn't- get to join would like to join. :) You started with 6 and now have 3, after all.
You can just pretend it was your plan all along!
After all, we both know Skyscale was always going to be the heart and soul of the party! Regardless of where that party might go...
Korash the Spiky |
Considering the plot of this game so far, it seems entirely reasonable to have others wake up a few hours later in another room.
Ameo Wanstell |
Also Ameo has a pretty decent Linguistics skill, so perhaps he could learn the others languages.
Skyscale |
I vote the whistling language of the plant. :)
Skyscale |
The worst things you have to worry about with me when it comes to dyslexia is me telling you I didn't understand you or -possibly- teasing you for it, but I'm always well-meaning with it. One of my online friends is so terrible at spelling they might as well be dyslexic, and I -greatly- enjoy correcting their spelling. I hate correcting their grammar though. Because that tends to be a -bad- idea... because they don't believe in the whole concept of 'the comma is absolutely necessary, without it, you're saying something -completely- different'
Korash the Spiky |
Heck, everyone makes typos on the internet, and I just usually limit my focus to keeping my own spelling and grammar clean—the point of PbP is to understand each other, not write publishable history essays.
Ameo Wanstell |
Honestly I am so bad at spelling and grammer that I will probably never notice. Seriously though...
One of us! One of us! one of us!
Ameo Wanstell |
Just remember that Ameo has never met Calista's race before. Has never healed her race before.
Skyscale |
Well... technically... dhampir tend to have an allergic reaction to positive energy.
GM Lucid Nonsense |
nope did not forget just had not posted it, but she dos not know anything much about magic, so she dos not know what he is going to do, now he has she will need to know what it was he did.
also This is my new profile GM I dropped the old one to not see PMs from a few I did want to talk to about my spelling
Skyscale |
Pretty much what Cali girl said. It's completely in keeping with her character to not know what positive energy -is-. Where she's from, healing is healing. A guy stitches up your wounds? Cool. A guy latches onto your brain and forcefeeds you psionic healing? Cool.
Given her background, she's likely never had a paladin lay hands on her :P
