Alright!
This might be a mistake and it means I have to mod the AP a bit, however the final THREE are
Gorou-Something about the fat nerd who can fight just tickles me
Thribden-Several characters are excited about th eRP possibilities and I think we need some healing
Narissth-Loved the backstory, and I like Ratfolk
Thank you all for participating, really hard to turn the rest of you down, but I do not have the facility to run two games.
If we have a rush of players leaving I will come back to this thread to ask for replacements
DONT HATE ME!!!

Will submit this character, a paladin of Sarenrae. Need to adjust him to level 2 and 15 point-buy but the build will be an Oradin. So 5 paladin/ 3 life oracle/ 8 holy vindicator. I know you despise optimizers but there will be a little bit of that on my part to make him work as a dervish dancing paladin (which, in and of itself, is a pretty sub-optimal build for a paladin).

So that everyone knows. This is an unusual campaign in that MiniGM is allowing Prestige Classes from level 1 and waving the prerequisites. Please read the initial recruitment post for info on this.
We currently have:
Paladin/2
Veiled Illusionist/2 (Sorcerer casting)
Master Spy/2
Dragon Disciple/2
We really need healing, but feel free to be creative. There are all sorts of fun PrC classes that combine well with healing and give other interesting abilities. Use your imagination.

Hey! Thanks for the info. I read through the recruitment post and although I like that unique ruling, I think I'll stick with the paladin build I have in mind. Seeing the other paladin in the party, I'm sure he and I will be diverging quite a bit and the build as I've imagined it will be a pretty awesome healer none the less.

I checked the d20 for healer friendly PrC.
It says:
Pathfinder Player Companion: People of the Sands © 2013, Paizo Publishing, LLC; Authors: Shaun Hocking, Rob McCreary, and Jason Nelson.
Just asking if you would prefer someone with just the cure wounds spell or a bit more.
In my head I have that idea gnome alch1/Natural Alch 1
Or a dwarven Mystic Theurge (Cleric/sorcerer empyrial BL) heavy on buffing and clerical side.

Yeh, you need to check the actual link for the PrC on the d20 site. Many of the PrC are from Paizo publications that are not open license so they change the name slightly. For instance the Red Mantis Assassin is called a Crimson Assassin on the d20 site. However, they tend to leave the link to the original real Paizo name.

Koytine recommended the Evangelist, it is a great class, a theurge is a possibility. The problem with the alchemist is that it is really ineffective as a healer.
Other things to keep in mind the target is 2 posts per day, breaks are fine but you need to let us know you are going to be gone. I will be quick on booting players that are absent and don't let us know, because that is just rude to the other players.
I also have a different take than some on the relationship system. I do not give an auto point each level, but I also do not only give points via diplo checks other skills can be used if it is logical. IE a craft skill check to repair armor for an npc can raise the relationship etc

So I guess I should explain my healing expectations for this character.
First, after I get a chance to go home and tweak the character sheet, the character will take the fey foundling feat, which lets him heal +2 hp per healing die. Assuming a 14 CHA
Level 2 (Pal 2): Can use lay on hands 3x per day to heal 1d6 + 2.
Level 4 (Pal 4): Lay on hands 5x per day for 2d6 + 4 or sacrifice 2 uses of lay on hands to channel positive energy 2d6 + 4.
Level 5 (Pal 4/Ora 1): Choose the life mystery and grab the life link revelation.
Life Link (Su): As a standard action, you may create a bond between yourself and another creature. Each round at the start of your turn, if the bonded creature is wounded for 5 or more hit points below its maximum hit points, it heals 5 hit points and you take 5 hit points of damage. You may have one bond active per oracle level. This bond continues until the bonded creature dies, you die, the distance between you and the other creature exceeds medium range, or you end it as an immediate action (if you have multiple bonds active, you may end as many as you want as part of the same immediate action).
With that every time someone takes damage, they start getting fast heal 5 from Saif. Not to mention cure spells are on his list of spells.
Level 7 (Pal 4/ Ora 3): 3 levels of oracle give 3 life links to play with. If we take Channel Energy as a second revelation, we get a second channel energy pool that heals 2d6 + 4 (doesn't stack with paladin channel energy). At this point we will have made an effective healbot tank paladin with more healing options than your average cleric, albeit the cleric will be able to channel for 4d6 to heal 14hp on average, but with this character that burst shouldn't be necessary because his heals will keep on coming.
Level 10 (Pal 4/ Ora 3/ Holy Vindicator 3): At this point, any cure spell the vindicator casts on himself will be empowered. He can also continue advancing his channel energy class feature from the paladin levels, and his spellcasting class features from his oracle levels. So he'll channel energy as a 7th level paladin (4d6 + 8 *fey foundling assumed here*) and cast as a 5th level oracle. We'll stop progressing lay on hands but our other options will make up for that. Besides if we start running a little low, he could always pick up extra lay on hands.
Past that its all gravy really. Channel energy continues to progress, the party will have fast heal 5, and considering this is a dex based paladin he'll have the AC to survive most things that are thrown at him. It's an optimized heal tank, but only in that it makes for a decent frontliner and fairly good healer without sacrificing too much on either front. If we were to take it to 20 (which I doubt as this is an official paizo AP and only one has done that since the pathfinder system became the norm), he would channel as a 17th level paladin with fey foundling(9d6 + 18) and cast as a 10th level oracle.
So... Still worried about his lack of healing?
Unbeugsam |
This is my application!
Unbeugsam is a cleric / Sorcerer
He has the channel ability, he can heal with his sorcerer bloodline power, and he finally can spontaniously cast cure spells.
I think healing should be fine.
I know there are still a few things to be done, but the first idea is for you to see.

6 hp (my original hp will be lowed by 1 due to con reduction as mentioned below.)
+1 bab
+1 will save
6 skill points: know history, know planes, handle animal, prof merchant, diplomacy, survival
Detect undead bonus spell known and create water
+1 1st level spell
I also noticed that I am currently a 20 point build with 1 trait since that is the previous campaign. To comply with your build requests I will drop cha by 1 and con by 2. The extra traits will be 'Well informed' as a racial trait and 'Eyes and ears of the city' as a religious trait. The only thing left I believe is to pick a single item of 500gp or less. I will have that up for you shortly.

I am thinking of foregoing any prestige class as I like the basic oracle too much anyways. As for the item in questions it would have to be a MW chainshirt as oracles can only have light armor and the weight doesn't affect me due to the lame curse. That would too me off at the best nonmagical armor and give me a bit more survivability. Having a MW weapon would be a better use of the money but Mary is not about the mundane weapon attacks as she is about keeping others up and buffing them. Having the extra AC will mean less healing for herself and spells like shield other or the revelation Lifelink more feasible.
If it matters at third level thinking about taking reach spell. Spontaneous casters with meta magic feats are great for versatility and ranged healing and buffs are nice.
If selected I will change the character profile accordingly. Thanks for the consideration MiniGM.

Of course you could spontaneously cast cure spells as a mystic theurge, or you could be a double spontaneous caster mystic theurge.
Another interesting healer prc is Magaambyan arcanist which adds druid spells to an arcane caster's list.
Mary, there are a few nice prcs for oracles, I myself like the hellknight signifier as it continues to progress the revelations, exalted evangelist would also be a good choice as at level 2 exalted evangelist begins increasing your level in any one other class.
Mary Roseblossom |
Took a look at both of the prestige classes and neither appeal to me. Can't see myself as being a signifier with the hellknights. The exalted looks good but it is too religious for me. I don't plan on preaching the religion and trying to convert others to the faith. It does present a strong case for power though especially if able to be taken at first level and have oracles abilities tacked on immediately at 2nd level.
