Ha! I don't doubt that.

Did we lose Torque, now?

Paizo Employee

Male Human (Varisian) Fighter 3

Torque has ascended thanks to being exposed to religion. He will now be our patron deity.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Well damn, I'll keep that in mind the next time I create a character. Just not believe in a god then walk into a church and BOOM! instant divinity.

If Torque doesn't post by tonight I'll post for him.

Male Human (Mwangi) Artificer 3

I HAVE RETURNED

...though I'm sadly still a slightly weedy mortal

Paizo Employee

Male Human (Varisian) Fighter 3

Wow, I am honored you would give up your divinity to continue in the squad. It's quite the sacrifice and I applaud you.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Aww, we lost a potential patron diety with a potentially vested interest in our continued survival and success.

Male Human (Mwangi) Artificer 3

This is a pretty close approximation of Tok's attempt at lightening the mood

Keep practicing, you'll get it soon.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Hahaha, I love that scene. I really wish they hadn't cut it from the movie. Oh well, I have the director's cut and it has all the deleted scenes.

Hopefully Monkeygod will divide us up differently every time. Seeing the interactions between all our characters would be nice.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Poor Tok. Hanging out with stodgy monks has made him a little uptight and awkward.

Just wait till he starts drinking. He'll still be awkward, but far less inhibited!

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Sooo, Torque seems like a canidate for the Starstone according to the chatter here, hmm?? LOL

Oh and I will split you differently but l love way the current pairings are playing out. Stellar RP everybody. You shall be rewarded, this I command!!

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Wooo! Roleplaying rewards!

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Hmm, well let's see here. These sound nice:

Bacon, Ribs, Pork Chop, Sausage, Summer Sausage, Babe, Wilbur, Pork, and The Other White Meat.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I would like to be rewarded with a +8 to all of my board rolls. While my failure-to-smile roll worked for RP purposes, I would like to do a little better when hitting things.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Yeah, that's the problem with online dice rollers they use pure probability, but there's too many factors involved in dice rolling that affect things. Whenever possible I always try to roll real dice versus online rollers.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster
Tok Silverfist wrote:

Alrighty! Tok is getting a +8 to his board rolls. Whenever he needs to roll on a plank of wood, has to make a Craft: Carpentry check when it only deals with boards, or if he ever uses a wooden ball, but not in combat, lol. Unless he decides he wants to hit people with a board of wood, at which point he can also gain the +8. However since he said he wanted to do better at hitting things and not damaging them, the bonus does NOT apply to his damage rolls...

Is this fair to everybody else?? ROFL

Paizo Employee

Male Human (Varisian) Fighter 3

Seconded.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

You're forgetting the -4 for an improvised weapon. So really he only nets a +4 unless you're gonna give him the Catch 0ff-Guard feat for free. Then he'd have a total of +8. That'd be really useful if he's going into Drunken Master.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I'll take the +8 to my carpentry checks. I've been needing a profession.

And unfortunately, I can't flurry with an improvised weapon, so I won't be taking that feat.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

I think the drunken master archetype allows you to flurry with improvised weapons at a certain level. But I'm not sure.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

While Tok may gain that generous bonus to hit, due to his drunken ways of both the past and future, all boards he uses as a weapon start with the broken condition and deal 1d4-6 nonlethal damage with no Str or Focus bonus allowed nor can that damage increase ala unarmed strikes :-)

Male Dwarf Monk/2

Hmm...these restrictions seem too severe. I will forego my +8 board roll bonus and defer to whatever reward you deem worthy for our hard work, oh great and mighty GM.

Also, whose idea was it to introduce a rival carnival to the game? Do we get to fight some halfling clowns to determine which carnival reigns supreme?

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

Eh, just wait till I meet him. I might either be intrigued or may have to upstage him. But with his actual ranks in perform that may be difficult. If I see things going against me I may just use a Color Spray on him and pass it off as a trick. And should he fail his save I'll win!

First of all it was Pentor's idea. I'm just going to make his idea better, lol

Double, as of now, what exactly have you all done, as a group, that's even kinda carnivaly??

Tricycle, who says their rivals??

Hey, I used Color Spray. Bright colors and sounds are obviously carnival like, or rave like. But I also cast Grease to make the guy drop his crossbow, that's hilarity and crazy antics. Carnival like.

On further reflection bright colors and comedy slapstick would make me a clown. Nevermind, we're not a carnival.

At least not yet anyways.

Male Human Gunslinger (Gun Tank)/ Lvl 3

I just took major San damage from reading all of this. Crimson Queens may claim to be the strangest unit but I think that is our badge!

"Us Crimson are strange. Strange as in "wrong" strange. You lot are just strange... As in plain weird."

Runs off before Monkeygod realises his glue and glitter scheme has failed! heheheheeh. he. hehehe.

Male Human Sorcerer 3 (Abyssal Bloodline)

I think the word you're looking for Fury is disturbed.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Yea, we a strange crew, and I certainly don't help.

Reporting to the off topic thread... important post here? According to the in-game thread?

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Ok, so two things

1) you all get 500XP, 200 for the combat, and 300 for the awesome RP between the players and the town NPCS.

2) GM/Player Feedback: be honest, but polite and pleasant.

How am I doing as a GM?? what do you like about what I've done so far?? What do you not like?? and what could I do better???

and pretty much the same questions for your fellow players. as there are 6 others, you don't need detailed, long answers, but a least a decent sentence or two will do.

Male Human Gunslinger (Gun Tank)/ Lvl 3

1) Woop woop!! Who DOESN'T love Exp? Man I have a taste for more now! If I spend all night polishing Corporals shoes can I get more?!

2) Feedback is always hard for me... Monkey you are doing right well by us. I love your PC/NPC interactions especially. Your characters are fun and engaging.

Torque - Interesting and in depth. Love the difference having an Artificer makes to a party who wouldn't regularly see such a thing!

Tok - Holding my breath for you to fall of the wagon. Tok is funny already. To have him be drunk most of the time? Win!

Valen - Smartass Mage. And you play it so damn well. There is something oddly loveable about your rogue. Jax will still get angry at him from time to time though.

Gremm - Playing your part like a pro. Would like to see more of what Gremm thinks! :)

Acune - Loving the character. The Inquisitor is one of my favorite classes and you've built a nice one. Would love to see more of a female take on the other fools in the Squad! ;)

Hope that is what you wanted! :)We have a great Squad and I am proud to be a part of it. Kudos gents!

The Exchange

F Half-elf Inquisitor (Exorcist) 3

Well, what Pvt. Fury said
I honestly don't have anything to add... except I'd change the part about me to 'needs to be online more'. :)

And Jax-
Great job, and great job helping to keep the party moving forward. Love the 'friendly banter' between you and Valen.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I think it's been great. On the GM side, the posts are frequent enough and move the story forward appropriately - I've played some PbP where the GM doesn't push the story forward, choosing to treat it more like a RL game. I like that we're not drawing out anything too much.

I was curious about the pacing of leveling - are you coordinating with the other DMs to keep each squad around the same level? There was talk of swapping out squad folks down the line, and that will be difficult if it's unbalanced.

As for the PCs, I'm loving everyone's character development. I really do agree with everything Fury said and Acune added.

Male Human (Mwangi) Artificer 3

This is my firt PbP so I don't have much to compare to, but the quality of character development in this game is beyond what I've seen by this point of in the game in most of the face-to-face games I've played. In particular, I appreciate Tok for bringing up Torque's weird science regularly and giving me and excuse to ramble about it.

Likewise I can't fault Monkeylord's GMing style. I aggree that the pacing is good. The fact that I'm even allowed to play an artificer is appreciated as well.

Paizo Employee

Male Human (Varisian) Fighter 3

I must say, I am rather enjoying my time in the carnival. This is the first PbP that I've joined that has survived longer than a week. Everything is going dandy and I like all our distinct personalities. Currently speaking, Gremm doesn't have much to do, but that's just the nature of things. Soon enough, he'll be shining again, be it on the battlefield or by telling more tales of the merchants days.

Great GM, great players, and a very promising game so far.

Oh, and Gremm is not one to really shares his thoughts, but will share all the stories you ask of him. He has one for every nation in the Inner Sea.

Male Dwarf Monk/2

That raises a good point Gremm - Does anyone have some aspect of their character they would like the group to help highlight and provide opportunities for (such as my potential drunkenness and Torque's nerdy explanations)?

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

I *LOVE* the personalities of each character:

Tok's stoic, uncharismatic bluntness, Valen's pompous ass charismatic flair, Gremm and his stories and Ma and Pa wisdom, Fury being the no nonsense career military man, Torque's uber nerdiness, Acune being the quite, silent type, and Nine Tails being the lone scout whose found a love for the outdoors.

Now then, since it seems like I may end up fully taking over this game, and even if I don't I'm going to be the main GM, let me ask you all this:

1) Built wise, how do you all currently see your characters growing?? Does anybody plan to multiclass, or pick up a PrC?? Some of you have said you've planned your characters out to 20th(which is totally cool with me btw, Blaze is planned out pretty much to there as well). How do you see them at 20th level??

2) What kind of goals do you have for your character?? join/start a guild/organization/faction?? journey any place special?? rescue or find peoples?? etc, etc.

the more you tell me, the more I can begin to tailor this game to you all. I've already done this a bit for Torque, but I want to be able to do more for him, as well as the rest of you all. Your a great group and I plan to reward you all as best I can :) :)

Male Human (Mwangi) Artificer 3

Now that I've found a group that doesn't object to it I just want to push the technology angle as far as I can get away with. In the short term, I'm very interested to hear that the region we're in was hit by a 'lesser starfall'. I shall look into that further. As for longer term, I'm keen to go down the traction engine route and have that ready by 8th level (which means I'd be very happy to see fabricate scrolls in the loot), but beyond that I'll just see how the character develops as far as goals go. Since he's interested in preserving life on the battlefield, though, I could see some sort of steam-golem project being conceived if the rest of the party is ok with it.

Mechanically the artificer is terrible past level 12 or so, the tome of secrets guys dropped the ball there, so I'll be either cross classing or getting a prestige class. I haven't given it much thought actually - I'll work something out later tonight.

I took the liberty of summarizing what the party has learned. I posted it as OOC in the in-character thread for ease of reference.

At Paizo Con, it was revealed that the Player's Guide will feature for caravans such as leveling them up, etc.

I think this meets all our needs.

Player's Guide?? To Golarion? that would F'N ROCK!!

Male Dwarf Monk/2

I don't have any grand plans for Tok. A monk, by nature, is relatively unoptimized, so I'm playing for fun more than eeking out every point possible. That said, I'd like to explore the drunken master and perhaps incorporate a vow of some type from UM. Additionally, once UC comes out, if you're open to it, I might incorporate some interesting monk changes from that.

As for where Tok is going in-character, I'm not quite sure yet. I think it might be kind of fun to enter some kind of arena/colosseum event as a unit, as that's what inspired Tok ton enter the monastery in the first place.

Do not really want to ruin the whole squad 2 group chat but it a guide for Jade Regent MonkeyGod. They told some spoilers and stuff but your caravan will level up through out the AP like your army does in kingmaker.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Not ruining anythin buddy, thanks for the heads up. Will need to look into that, giving serious thot to buyin that AP anyways.

@ Tok and anybody else: With UM just released more or less and UC due in a few months, if anybody feels there is something that MUST be a part of their character, I am totally ok with remakes. Even if you don't want to go that far, and just for the right level to pick up a new goodie, no book is barred really.

Male Half-Elf Martial Artist /4

I was on the fence about it but based on the spoilers they gave for it I want to get it. Some examples of what they said they added a lot of stuff with Oni and gave examples with that. They also adding a new type of Asian themed dragons that will also be in the third bestiary.

1. I don't know anything about optimizing (at all), and so will build Acune just going on what seems to fit the fluff best. I probably won't multiclass, but I think I'm going to take the Exorcist archetype. I'll probably continue taking levels in inquisitor right up until 20th lvl.

2. Still a bit vague on this, but Acune plans on traveling a lot. I would very much like to visit Tian Xia. In the immediate future, her plans revolve more around hunting demons and other abominations (her backstory includes something of a vendetta against demons).

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

For the record, I did not mean, nor do I care about, optimizing. If you want to, feel free, but that's your choice, and I will do my best to make sure you all get a chance to shine.

I was asking more so i can get more of a feel for each character, based on how you want them to look down the road.

For example, right now, if you were to look at Blaze, two things would stick out: he has a +8 to both Initiative and Hit. However, as he levels, he'll eventually pick up a few levels of Duelist(he'll take Dervish Dance at level 2) and he's using the Dawnflower Dervish archetype, focusing as he goes on quick strikes, mobility, and finesse.

That's kind of what i'm looking for.

Male Human (Mwangi) Artificer 3
Acune wrote:

Wow, that's going to lead to some akward conversations with Valen once he unlocks a few more bloodline powers...

Male Human (Tian) Barbarian (Urban Barbarian, Spirit Totem) 3

Wow. Hadn't thought about it, but it would be pretty cool idea if the Carnival ends up in Varisia in time to run Jade Regent. It would probably require a little meta-tweaking as we probably wouldn't be 1st level by then but a cool idea. But new caravan rules in and of themselves are cool too.

As to Nine Tail, I don't know what the long term plan is with him. Interested to see the Spirit Totem in action. I don't typically play martial types so it will be an interesting exercise.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Where is our resident flaming showboat??(seriously, somebody should light him on fire for being late...)

can one be pre-flaming?? ....

WAIT A SEC, I HATE the use of the prefix pre!! Pre this, pre that, pre-heat the oven. THATS IMPOSSIBLE!!, there's only two stages an oven can be in: Heated and Unheated!!! Pre-board, how do u get on before you get on??? UGH!!

The proceeding rant was brought you as always by the late, great, George Carlin.
