Ok PbP'ers. I have an entirely homebrewed campaign I've restarted after a long hiatus. I've recovered 2-3 of the original players but I would love to get two more in the mix, possibly three. We're not very far along and it would be easy for a player to read up on the story so far and integrate themselves. What follows a is a detailed explanation of the campaign:

Spoiler:
Game is a 24 point buy. Characters start at level 2. Starting gold and gear is per Core for 2nd level characters.

Core, APG, Beastiary 1&2, ultimate magic/combat only please. Small additions from other material possible but at GM discretion.

If your interested message me or send me a skype message at tommy.sauter

Six maximum players three minimum. (We currently are down to two, with an optional third.)

See you all soon!

The players will start in the city of Azir in the Kingdom of Rahadoum where a great celebration is taking place. For the second year in a row, the Men of Rahadoum seemed to have beaten the perpetual famines that plagued the land for decades. It seems the Gods have become bored of torturing the unfaithful but stubbornly resilient populace.
Drunk with joy, literally and figuratively, a large party of the populace is celebrating a month-long feast along the shores of the inner sea.

The adventurers will find themselves in attendance to one of these parties, dancing and drinking along to calm shores of the Inner Sea.

In the middle of the party an Oracle of the Waves will stumble ashore, seemingly having walked up from the bottom of the sea itself. Bloodied and with many broken bones, she babbles (almost) incoherently about the cauldron "bubbling over" and the revenge of the "wavebourne exiles."

As she speaks, some zombies, skeletons, and other assorted undead shamble onshore, causing panic among the party goers. As the local guard tries to contain the crowd and deal with the threat, the adventurers will find themselves balancing saving the oracle to learn her secrets, assisting the guard, and protecting the party goers.

The result of the battle will drastically alter the lives of the PCs and determine, at least partially, what routes are open to them next. Where did these undead come from? What says the king? His loremasters? His Wizards and Sorcerers? What of this oracle predicting strange dangers? Who hurt her? Is it happening elsewhere? Is it an invasion? Or something more?

Answers may be elusive. But will the people of Azir, indeed the people of the Inner Sea, learn what is happening before it is too late?
Adventurers will simply need to justify their presence at the party. We can handle the rest from there :)

Lookin' forw'd t' playin' along with who ever joins in. (^_^)

Um, there be no 're-apply' stuff needed, right? >_>

phew...! You like to play I see :) ..........Azure you can play whatever you want. Feel free to just pick something and send me some flavor. I hate to railroad PCs into classes they don't reallly want to play.

Here's the campaign if you want to see what's happened so far.

yo dawg...

Oops :P

ACTUALLY the campaign

it happens.

How do you feel on custom content or 3pp content?

(I have made loads of things for 3.5 (and compare to make sure power does not get to out of hand), and can convert stuff easily and well or even tweak them)

Well as I still have yet to be allowed to play this character (just havent been picked) I offer Magnus

I would reconfigure for your game (love homebrew) but just let me know what you think and thank you for your time

Hello I would like to submit Khaod my Half Orc Armored Hulk thank you :) would reconfigure for your game certainly look forward to playing this :)

I'm going to go ahead and rule out outside content for now. Although I do appreciate your willingness to be creative :)

I was thinking of a Cleric (of Cayden Cailean) with my base version race of succubus-touched (or half-succubus) or yuki-onna-touched (or half-yukionna) (a demon or fey blooded child who serves a good aligned deity, what)

I would like to submit Dim, a gnome cleric of Desna.
Will still have to spend some $ but other than that he is ready to roll.

Ok,

Dim, Magnus, and Khaod: If you don't mind, I'd be curious to hear what your characters would be doing in Azur then I'll give some feedback.....especially the cleric. Rahadoum is somewhat....hostile...to religion

Azur: I'm sorry man I'm going to stick with these three for now. I'm relatively new to DM'ing and I don't think I'd do you justice.

I am getting used to not getting in a game and I'm new to PBP GMing, but if you need a hand, or an idea, I could give you one.

Hope you have a good game and for consideration
I wish the best of luck to the lucky 3.

I'll make a pitch to join, since I had a character all made up to join Sunny just before submissions were closed last time.

Will you accept a psionic from Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed? I present Gustav Stonecutter the Younger, the spoiled darling sculptor who needs some maturing, fast, to become a true hero.

Not DM- The Infinite Watery Grave.

I asked him on 3pp content and the answer was no and I think he found his 3 players.

Really wasn't looking at the location but funny enough is that Dim has the Birthmark trait which means that he doesn't have to carry a holy symbol as a focus.

Dim is if nothing a bit of a wanderer, curious about most things and wanting to learn. His trip to Azir is at this point nothing more than part of his journey of discovery, he just doesn't know what he is discovering. Desna guides him where he needs to go and right now that is here.

Many thanks DM :) well with his backstory, Khaod is a mercenary out on his own, thus he would be also termed as a sort of wanderer, going from place to place in search of jobs to get him some food and coin then he continues on. Khaod isnt free with who he works with either, he only takes jobs that serve a good cause, he just has a round-about way of getting it done and saving those he can. he doesn't have much knowledge of the law, because to him, such a thing shouldn't prohibit a person from doing the right thing in any given circumstance, just his point of view (also Barbarian out of game knowledge XD)

So i will get to work IMMEDIATELY on reconfiguring Khaod to level two and with 24 point buy :)

Well, even if DM- The Infinite Watery Grave says "no" this time, I'd like to be kept in the wings for future involvement. I can keep updating my character as needed.

Gustav,

I'm going to stick with Khaod, Dim, and Magnus here for now. Thanks for jumping into the fray though :)

I think I remember someone else asking me about psionics when I started this up last year. Sorry if you are having trouble getting into a group!

Welcome guys!

Ok, so, has recruitment closed or is it still open?

If it is still open, would you mind me using a Cavalier Archetype for a Samurai? The only ability the Archetype replaces that the Samurai class doesn't have is a bonus to handle animal checks for training at level four (Expert Trainer), and I'd be fine with giving up the Samurai's mounted archery ability that they get at level four.

The theme for the character is a overconfident, unintelligent, but charismatic and physically powerful Ronin who likes to show off by switching between his katana, wakazashi, pistol, and dual wielding any combination of the two. One level dip into Mysterious Stranger Gunslinger.

I think its closed for now. I know that was quick but I just picked up the first three that fit. Sorry! Feel free to keep the dot for later!

Attention all PbP'ers! The Infinite Watery Grave is recruiting again! For explanation of this campaign and its rules, see the top of the thread!

At this point, we have 4 PCs, so I'm looking for two more, preferably healers of some sort. However, as one of my PCs put it, I'm looking for people who CAN heal. We aren't just trolling for a white mage :P ...All types welcome!

Post below with questions and submissions. I'll consider on a rolling basis, first come first serve.

Thanks community!

Trying (yet again) to apply for the Infinite Watery Grave. Yes folks, I'm like the bad penny, I keep coming back.

Presenting Gustav Stonecutter, Psion (Shaper), for party crafter as well as battlefield control. I tend to go for Jack-of-All-Trade types, so if you give him a few levels, he'll be able to heal others. I am aiming for a high UMD for Gustav, to use wands and the like; he already has the Heal skill and a healing kit. He's Level 2 right now, as I've been following the IC/OOC. His backstory even has him from your original city.

Don't have a character yet but I can try to crunch it tomorrow.
What about Bard-Oracle. I would like to try with a cheerful personality. Someone who doesn't take himself too seriously. How would that fit in the party?

Never played a Oracle so I'll go and check the rules. Should I still build a 2nd level pc?
Any suggestion are welcome.

Yes for second level. Go read up and drop something here. I'd love to see it. Fee free to browse the game thread too to get a feel for the game and the party :)

Awww Gustav. You've been so thorough and respectful. Let the party take a look. I will honestly give it a second look. I'm just biased against psionics. I'm not used to bringing them into my games/worlds. I also have a cerebromancer in one of the campaigns I play irl and he is COMPLETELY broken. I know you aren't trying to munchkin your character (he's a crafter after all), but it poisoned my view.

I just wanted to give you the response you deserve :) That and the sheet you submitted must be the most thorough character sheet ive seen in a long while. (In a good way).

I have the same opinion of psionics as DM-The Infinite Watery Grave.

psionics can be used in a very badly broken way,
I have seen it everytime their is a psionic character in a game,
hence why I ban it from all my games as well.

Would you consider allowing a Lizardfolk Paladin? Raised by a human cleric and seeking to prove his worth to his diety and his 'father'

We already have 2 paladins just to let you know dude.

Ya we kinda need healers just so everyone knows

Dark Archive

I might be able to rescue a healer character from another campaign (died off) he is lvl 1.

Khaod Argus wrote:

Well, it'd be easy to adjust the concept to a straight Cleric :)

Ok, here is the crunch of my Bard 1 / Oracle 1

Description:

Bardolin ia a funny fellow. He likes everything: he is wondered by the tiny and amused by the huge. He loves playing his stringed bongos, and art is his dream. Often seen as a fool, he certainly lacks the wisdom of the common man in regards of staying out of trouble and live a quite life, but the world has such wonders is impossible to resist.
Everybody loves Bardolin, even if his behavior is "out of line" at the least. Inappropriate most of the times, people bear him regarding him as a harmless guy.
Dangerous he is not indeed. Singing, playing and exploring the world with true friends are the sole aims for Bardolin, and he could have had that, if it was not for his bad luck.
Chosen by the gods, he is the reincarnation of the wise guide of his ancestors. Regarded as a saint man in his little village he was educated to be a spiritual guide.
The training of the elder were to narrow for joyful Bardolin so he ran from home to explore the world and to play his instrument.
But the wise men were not completely wrong since, now and then, this artist shows himself as much more than a street performer and traveler, such curse follows Bardolin remembering him what he is supposed to be. If only he could focus on the same idea for more than five minutes...

Off game, Basically is an half-elf bard, he wants to be one, he behaves like he lives in a parallel world that only he is able to see. He is highly charismatic in the sense that in the end whatever he says or does, people laugh at, or with, him instead of punching him in the face. He also has this oracle "curse" that follows him, to him is just a minor bother.
Oracle wise he has the Life Mystery (so you get your healing thing), and the Haunted curse. I was thinking at the latter not only as described in the manual but also with a kind of clumsiness that makes him always tumbling and falling around, kicking things and such, with the difference that in the end he has a very high dexterity, so rolling, tripping everywhere but in the end he gets where he wants, maybe not the way he wished...

The concept is quite strange, and is a long-shot even for me, I'm still trying to calibrate on the concept. So if you don't feel comfortable with such build I won't bother. I still have to choose spells and traits but I'm thinking nothing too fancy.

BTW if you are wondering what a stringed bongo is, check on you tube for a song called "Tom's drums" performed by Tommy Emmanuel, immagine the pathfinder version of an instrument able to do that, and there you are!

CREEPY PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!

Yea sorry we're full up on Pali's :P ....but go ahead and show me a cleric if you like.

We had a wondering traveler type before so this is fine. I'd love to hear more. Also, don't feel compelled to play a life oracle if you don't want to. Bard's offer plenty of support in there own right. I'm not making this a race to see who can offer the highest number of healing spells. :)

No problem at all, I never played an Oracle, so this is good exercise, and I'm growing kind of fond of this strange concept.

I finishing the stats right now, should be online soon.

Here is the Bard / Oracle
the formatting is not the best, I'll get to that.

Equipment is coming, but 1 weapon 1 light armor and some standard traveling gear, nothing more.
About HP, how many? Shall I roll or 1stmax+average?

Any news about who made it in the cut?

Not yet. I haven't heard from anyone but you and the psion. So you are it for now. Character looks good flavor-wise. Slap some AC on the dude! :P

I'll let you in after this next encounter. Probably by the end of the week. I've also got to run it by the party but they're probably ok with it.

As for Gustav; I'm sorry man but maybe later. My party is really warm to having a psion either. I'm sorry.

I can continue to wait, updating my character to keep up with the party.

Is this thread closed for Recruiting? I do not have the Crunch right now but I wouldn't mind getting back into actual Gaming with a Half-Elven Ranger Two-handed Polearm/Archer/Dual-Wielding type. WHichever of those you like best I'll make up for you to look at.

Grand Lodge

I am very interested. Are there any spots still open?

The character I would like to put forward is a Human Gunslinger with a Suffer Not Injustice complex. The whole suffer not injustice thing does mean he'll be a bit of a loose cannon and respond in a very old testament, bullet to the head way if he sees someone being abused, tortured, attacked with provocation etc. Would love to see how a paladin responds to something like that lol. His scores are as follows...

Str 10
Dex 18 (Including Human +2)
Con 11
Int 15
Wis 15
Cha 10

I went with standard gunslinger with alignment LG, pistol starter with a short sword for backup. Trained in Acrobatics, Bluff, Craft(Alchemy), Heal, Perception, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand and Survival. (Extra skill from favored class.)

There's the bare bones of it.

EDIT: Feats, forgot the feats. Went with Point Blank Shot and Extra Grit.

Still looking for one more. Go ahead and post it.
