Whenever you roll a ten in damage, you basically get another 1d10 added.
You keep rolling tens, and watch it blend.

Turning at the sound of the bang, Emerik grunted as the cultist fell. Keeping his guns up and pointed, he moved to the body. You never knew if there would be more.


So Albaras, the fallen cultist lays in a T-intersection; do you want to check the flanking passages, or just bull out into the center of the intersection.

I suspect that the question contains its own answer.

Running out blindly and screaming 'For the EMPEREROR!' is the Uplifting Primer's tactics section.

Aiming a gun down each of the other corridors, Emerik checked to make sure they were safe.

He didn't quite hose down both with automatic fire on the theory that it would make them safe, but was quite prepared to do so.

Hammered mercilessly by Albaras' storm of bullets, the cultist's flailing body is driven down the corridor.

need to clarify. You get an extra hit for every DoS? If so. He will be hit a total of 6 times. Scatter +1 for every 2 DoS

With Full-Auto weapons you get an extra hit for each degree of success, up to it's total burst number. For my auto-guns that means up to 10...but it also means I fire ten shots each time. They also have the small problem of poor armour pen, making them less than ideal against anything with good armour and toughness. I have a Long-Las for those.

GM, am I above these mourners in Initiative, or have I just gone?


Konstantine: A pair of slugs neatly amputates the right arm of the Mourner nearest you, who goes to the ground in a bloody heap.

Konstantine I believe that with that particular gun, you get either a Single shot or two shots; or are you taking another attack this round?

And yes, this a new round.

Emerik glanced at his jammed gun with a sigh. Then he aimed his other gun at whatever was left after the shotgun blast and reduces it to mush.

Konstantine. Oops. I missed that. Still the first two hits were sufficient to kill him. Albaras, you're firing again at the downed cultist?

"Haarlock returns, and black vengeance follows!" The remaining cultist screams, in a psychotic fury, as he flings himself upon a quivering Mayweather.

Mayweather screams piteously, however it doesn't appear that his wound is necessarily fatal.

No, I was shooting at whichever one wasn't dead. Sorry I didn't make that clearer.


So just to recapitulate:

1st round: Konstantine fires at cultist in intersection, dropping him. Albaras runs up, sees second cultist around corner.
2nd round: Konstantine fires at 2nd cultist, wounding him. He fires back at Albaras, missing him: Albaras returns the favor, killing him, but jams his gun. Two cultists skulking behind you, rush your small band.
3rd round: Konstantine blasts one of the cultists in the back. The other one remaining cultist knifes Mayweather.

Mayweather is staggering between the pair of you, and the remaining cultist: Konstantine, your shotgun, with its scatter, will certainly hit Mayweather as well, if you fire now. Albaras, your shot will be at -20 (if it is a miss, but still less than your unmodified percentage, then you hit Mayweather).

Emerik took a moment to make sure he wasn't too likely to hit Mayweather. If he did...such was the Emperor's will.

Shot 1 - Pen 0: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

The Mourner is staggered by the hit to his body, but does not fall.


The Mourner makes a clumsy attempt to grapple Mayweather, but Mayweather, his face a mask of bovine terror, stumbles away.

Lacking the scatter function, Emerik simply shot the Mourner again.

Konstantine, your shots destroy his right leg, and screaming, he topples over, to be hit again in the same leg by Albaras's shot.

He whimpers, spits up blood, and then dies.

"I think we have a first aid kit, somewhere." Emerik attempted to unjam his weapon. Sadly, it was more likely to serve the Emeperor than Mayweather was.

Murmuring a prayer to the Omnissiah, Emerik tried again...

...but managed to get it jammed even tighter. Cursing, he muttered an ancient Enginseer's charm that involved coaxing the machine spirit with a great lack of hammers in its future if it behaved.

Finally, the dented round ejected. Emerik cleared the magazine for later examination and reloaded it.


Mayweather : "This black pit will be my tomb!"

Konstantine : There is a lot of blood, but don't believe that Mayweather is dying; he has a lot of energy left for piteous moaning.

Albaras: In fixing your gun you badly bent the lip of one of your magazines, if you're going to continue to use that magazine, the gun is going to gain the Unreliable Quality. You can, of course, if you wish, transfer the individual rounds to another magazine.

Emerik stashed the damaged magazine away until they had a moment. He wouldn't get caught with his pants down, so speak. He had several empty magazines now if they were able to safely take a break, and more ammo in others if they didn't.


Binerith, with the abstracted air of a sleepwalker, is shuffling down the corridor.
