Nearly a month since his last post using any of his aliases.

Kinda scary, thinking about the variety of things that could lead to said absence.

I agree. I am worried about him having a complication.

Is there anyway we can find out? I know that Paizo probably can't release any information, but this is unnerving wondering if he's okay or not.

I don't usually do this, but in this case I made an exception--a google search on the name from his profile shows someone who might be him on FB, with the last post over a week ago.

okay I think I'm going to start requesting GM emails.

Did he say anything about complications or being busy?

I give out my email to the people I'm running for online.

I've logged out so I can't check again, but IIRC it was September 14, and he posted about not feeling that great. Two comments on the post, neither from him, and no one else posting on his timeline.

I guess the game's off for the time being then. Here's hoping that he comes back.

Did we want to recruit for a new GM through recruitment? I know some folks had volunteered to stand in, but I think those are exactly the folks most interested in the characters they're playing :) I could be wrong about that though.

We're coming up on 2 months - it's probably time to re-launch or retire.

I've started up a thread in 'recruitment', advertising for a new GM. I've got specific verbage below, with a link to the actual thread. I'm planning to put this out in a few of my other groups (in case anyone's harboring a yen to GM). I'd encourage y'all to also promote forward this way, and maybe ask your fellow players to take it viral.

We have a great group of 6 players assembled (and started off) for a Rise of the Runelords (Anniversary Edition) game.

We had a GM, but he has disappeared on us. We believe this is a medical issue - and we all understand (though we're a bit worried). It's been 2 months now since our old GM last posted on the boards anywhere, and as a group we've decided to either draft a new GM, or give up the ghost.

This is a good group - great characters, good interaction, good pace.

If you've considered running an RoR game, please take this as an opportunity to have a proven group, with lists and logistics and whatnot already set up.

I have one response in hand: nO417. He/She/It appears to be relatively new, but has a decent message count under one alias - probably the first healthy game nO417 got hooked into. I haven't had time to read through any of his/her/its posts yet, but will in the next day or two.

Thoughts?

Also - nO417 doesn't have the AP. I can't fix that for RoR AE (many other APs, but not that edition of RoR). Any help on that?

Finally - if anyone wanted to post to the recruiting thread, it would help put it back near the top (and not be me self-promoting the thread...)

I've taken a look. I'll need to look some more before I can give you more than a gut feeling, and that feeling is I'm not so sure he's the one either.

so - recruitment out for about a week. One nibble, one hit. The one hit we've got, it seems we're likely to throw back.

I'm thinking either we give rogerGilbert a time-boxed opportunity to succeed (say, 3 weeks, after which we decide to continue or disband), or we call it a day and fold up the tent.

Well, seeing as we don't have much biting, I say go for it.

I am around but been sick myself so have stepped back as had some games went wrong here. If needed let me know but otherwise will probably just stick with my active ones till they are done then call this done for. Great fun with everyone but I end up forgetting but I am also not getting updated that activity is going on in threads.

Likewise--it's worth a try, and I'd like to see more of the homicidal (goblincidal?) gnome.

I'm in. It's difficult to get a homebrew class allowed as it is.

All right. At this point, it looks like we're down 2 players and a GM. I say we call it off. I'll be keeping an eye out for another RoR:AE, and if I see one, I'll be sure to let y'all know.
