"That just means that whatever is here is extra dangerous to make up for all this nothing."

Ashur will follow Erin to the door also being stealthy.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

The door opens onto a Patio, open to the outside but sheltered by the roof two stories above. A simple waist-high metal railing separates this patio from the cliff side to the north. A few serviceable chairs rest near a large free-standing brass telescope aimed at the heavens. Broken statues of foo dogs and other mythological animals litter the floor along the southern walls.

Erin:

As you opened the door you thought you heard something behind one of the statues on the other side of the Patio, and perhaps movement out of the corner of your eye, but when you look over, nothing is there.

Erin moves directly up to the statue, with one hand on a siphon, the other on her short sword, waiting for whatever it is to jump out.

Before I progress with the plot, I want to check what everyone else is doing as Erin walks up to the statue. Are you joining her, following at a distance, hiding in a corner with a blanket…?

As Erin cautiously approaches, the large Dog statue starts moving. It gets up and opens its mouth, revealing a set of large, jagged teeth. It’s not alive, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to keep it from trying to eat you.

The Dog leans back and howls. An ear piercing cry of anger and a warning of danger. It then steps forward, next to Erin. If anything it looks a little larger and more menacing with the flames highlighting it’s stark features.

Shadow Lodge

GM:
Am I able to know whether it is immune to electricity or not?

Oh, I forgot to mention the result of the Howl. When the Dog steps up the wind picks up significantly, like a turbulent shield of air around and next to the statue. It’s strong enough that it may make ranged attacks more difficult to aim at him.

Arkwright:

You think it is probably not immune to Electricity.

GM:

"I do not think this thing is a typical house pet. A little help up here please!
Erin lets out a squeal as the dog advances on her and catches on fire. She then drops into a low stance and pulls a second sword, beginning to circle around the beast.

Shadow Lodge

Male Half-elf Magus

"Be right there, Erin!"

With a muttered curse, Arkwright waves his blade in the air where it gleams for a moment in the light. In his other hand he charges a bolt of electricity, then he moves forwards and strikes the dog with his blade, channeling the lightning.

Yandu tries to figure out what foul magic this is:

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

GM:

I assume this is a Wind Wall. I just wanted to get Anya airborne ...

Anya - you better stay on the ground.

Actions Anya:
Move: Anya takes a 5 foot step sideways to avoid cover from any of her comrades. While stepping sideways she retrieves a tanglefoot bag.

Standard: Aiming at the stone dog she throws it:

Touch attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 - 4 = 18
Point Blank +1, throw anything, into melee -4 DC15 reflex or being glued to the ground. I assume Anya can avoid an additional -4 for cover.

Yandu moves up behind Anya - his mace ready.

Yandu:

Yep, looks like a Wind Wall to you.

Can Anya speak, or does she just communicate mentally with you?

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

Oblivious of the effects of the wind shield, Tanrov levels his bow and takes a shot.

Moving into position to avoid cover.

1d20 + 6 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 1 - 4 = 4 (-4 if cover is unavoidable)

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

Anya speaks common and Yandu tends to speak to her.

Anya herself will speak openly to Yandu and it depends who it is how open she is to the others.

Anya herself is a little bit shy - especially with big Tarnov around. She seems to like him - but better from at least 10 feet distance and if he isn't looking at her.
She is much more open to Erin and Charlotte. She is unsure about Arkwright and seems to avoid Ashur.

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

Miss chance Tangle Foot bag:

The mass of the tanglefoot bag seems not to be affected at all by the wind.

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

"Tarnov - that is a Wind Wall. You won't be able to shoot through it. Neither arrow nor bolt will work. You need something heavy enough that carries through - and even then it might be blown off course."

Ok, Erin moves, Arkwright attacks and hits, Anaya throws and hits, Yandu moves, and Tanrov misses with his large, barbarian bow.

GM:

Will Save:
Arkwright 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Ashur 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Erin 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Tanrov 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Anya 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Erin, Ark:

As you encounter the Dog, it fades to a mere outline of it’s prior ferocity, and you realize that it’s all an illusion. But the wind continues to blow.

Yandu:

Anya turns to you with a confused look on her face. There’s nothing there.

Ashur growls as he hears about the magical wind protecting the dog. He moves while drawing his glaive to 10 feet away from it and strikes it once.

Dog continues to burn.

Fatigued + Power Attack
1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 - 1 = 24

1d10 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Oh, BTW, Charlotte Cast Bless on her Action. +1 to all Attacks and Saves vs Fear. (Forgot it was in a spoiler)

The Dog stands there as a strange, small, grey-skinned humanoid appears floating off the east side of the patio. (Looks like this) With incantations you don’t understand, he releases a powerful lightning bolt from his hands, catching Erin, Arkwright, and Tanrov in it’s path before hitting the wall you just came through, causing it to explode in a shower of splinters. He giggles with glee as he rises higher in the air, behind the wall of wind.

Erin, Arkwright, and Tanrov take 8d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 3, 1, 4, 2, 4) + 4 = 32 Electricity damage. DC 19 Reflex Save for half damage.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 59/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

Erin yells.
"Please Yandu do not tell him to throw something heavier. I have already had a handful of sharp or exploding object flying over my...."
She bites off the end of her sentence and ducks quickly barely getting out of the way of Ashur's glaive.

Erin effortlessly moves out of the way of the bolt unscathed.

How high is he off the ground?

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

Brute, I had moved before to avoid cover when I shot at the dog, but that was before our minis were moveable on the map. I'll take the lightning bolt anyway.

Tanrov growls in frustration as his already poorly aimed arrow is blown completely off course by the magical wall of wind.

Reflex - 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 1 = 11

He shouts in surprise as the bolt of lightning appears suddenly striking in the center of his chest, burning him badly.

"Hey, you're not a spirit!", the young barbarian says as he levels his bow at the newcomer.

1d20 + 6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 1 + 1 = 23
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Well, now he's about 50 feet up from 15 feet off the edge of the Patio.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 59/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

Erin sheathes her swords (move), moves 15ft. to the south east and draws bow (move.)

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

Oh, I missed the part about him being behind the Wind Wall.

In that case:

"I'll be right back!", the still-smoking barbarian shouts as he bolts out of the room.

Leaving to get Glory.

Again? Why? You can't reach him riding your horse. You could chuck a Javelin, or drink a Potion.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

I can reach him riding my horse if I borrow Ashur's glaive! Drinking a potion doesn't really seem like a winning plan. I don't think I can outheal 32 damage lightning bolts by drinking potions.

In all likelihood Ark will kill it before Tanrov gets back anyway. Leaving to get his horse will be his running gag.

Glory might help if he comes closer, but no way you are reaching him 50 feet up. I just want to voice my concern that running out on a combat is a bad idea.
And why have you not purchased your own Reach weapon yet?
