Shadow Lodge

Male Half-elf Magus

"Hence the reason for the habit" Arkwright chimes in.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

"Fried frog-people", Tanrov replies to Erin's question about the local delicacy. "Horns seems to like it."

Shadow Lodge

Raging Tiefling Ranger(Guide) 4/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 2 (HP: 64/94 ; AC:20/22, T:11/13, FF:20/22; Fort:+15/12 Ref:+9 Will:+7/5 (+1 versus poisons, disease, fear, and confusion); Init+2; Perception+12

"No aasimar around. Not worried." Ashur takes a large bite.

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

Yandu takes several bites before he answers - a smile on his face

"This is deliciously strange and awful. Thanks for the recommodation - I would have missed something interesting in not trying it.
Please let me know when you have more great advice like that. At least something I don't mind only have tried once."

It seems Yandu is fighting to eat the whole plate as it clearly isn't his taste - but a smile never leaves his face - so you wonder - in some respect he seems to love it to have tried.

"But shouldn't we be resting to be on our way early tomorrow. I would like to be fit to ensure I'm not missing the slightest exitement that we might encounter in the manor."

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

Erin orders something a little more mundane off the menu, and then responds to Yandu.

"Well, you have to live a little between missions. Honestly, the thought of dealing with ghosts, or spirits, or whatever it is up there is not very enticing. The later I am up today, the longer it will feel before I have to deal with those things tomorrow."

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

"Why are you worried 'Rin?", Tanrov asks in disbelief.

"If anything really bad shows up Ark will just magic it to death", he says while swinging a chopstick around in demonstration.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

Erin looks over towards Tanrov.
"True. I know we can count on Ark for those sort of things. I am just much better equipped to handle the mundane over the supernatural. Ghosts do not bother you?"

Shadow Lodge

Raging Tiefling Ranger(Guide) 4/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 2 (HP: 64/94 ; AC:20/22, T:11/13, FF:20/22; Fort:+15/12 Ref:+9 Will:+7/5 (+1 versus poisons, disease, fear, and confusion); Init+2; Perception+12

"We're pathfinders. We leave the whole notion of mundane at the door. Gotta be ready for anything." Ashur says before slurping a straggling piece of food.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Cleric 11

Looks at the bowl of food that was brought to her. Although she has never tried Tian food, she was taken aback at it's complexities and it's unique textures. She takes a little bit of salt and says a small prayer to Sarenrae and then begins to eat the food. It's quite delicious and satisfies her palate. I will definately have to tell my sisters and brothers about Tian food's uniqueness.

GM:
Just in case, I casted Purify Food and Drink on the food presented before me.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

Erin slyly looks back to Ashur with a smirk.
"If I would have left the mundane at the door when I joined the society we would have had to scrape you off an angelic statue a couple weeks back."

Shadow Lodge

Raging Tiefling Ranger(Guide) 4/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 2 (HP: 64/94 ; AC:20/22, T:11/13, FF:20/22; Fort:+15/12 Ref:+9 Will:+7/5 (+1 versus poisons, disease, fear, and confusion); Init+2; Perception+12

"Uh, well the problem there is they didn't leave the mundane at the door." This is where Ashur would turn a little red, if he wasn't already. "Stupid aasimar temples, always trying to kill me..." He mutters under his breath.

You guys can continue to RP tonight. The night at the Inn passes uneventfully. We will head out to the Mansion tomorrow.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

"Therein lies the problem. We are Pathfinders and should be ready for anything, but we always are on the enemies turf, playing by their rules. The fact that I know significantly less about what we will be facing this time than I have other times is what bothers me."
Erin states, then stares off into a far corner of the room deep in thought.

Shadow Lodge

Raging Tiefling Ranger(Guide) 4/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 2 (HP: 64/94 ; AC:20/22, T:11/13, FF:20/22; Fort:+15/12 Ref:+9 Will:+7/5 (+1 versus poisons, disease, fear, and confusion); Init+2; Perception+12

"Welcome to adventuring. Sometimes its on your terms, but mostly it's on theirs. If you have such a problem with not knowing something, find out about it."

The morning mist still hangs in the air as you set off early. The townsfolk who are up at this hour whisper together at your passing, and make signs to ward of evil spirits. Apparently, rumors of why you are here have spread rapidly. You follow the verbal directions Gansukh gave you, for he absolutely refused to come along, “not even for all the tea in Tian Xia.”

As you approach, you can see the top of the mansion peaking out from overgrown trees. Meandering stone steps, overgrown with vegetation in places, climb the slope of a hill underneath the sheltering trees. On the final landing before the mansion itself is a freestanding moon gate - a circular stone gate that opens between the trees. The surface of the landing itself is stone and decorated with a sundial fashioned from colored tiles. The sundial’s blade rises two feet from the landing like a shark fin pointed toward the moon gate. Beyond the gate, a final set of stairs ascend to the house.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

"It doesn't look so bad", Tanrov offers. "Come on. Let's get inside."

Shadow Lodge

Raging Tiefling Ranger(Guide) 4/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 2 (HP: 64/94 ; AC:20/22, T:11/13, FF:20/22; Fort:+15/12 Ref:+9 Will:+7/5 (+1 versus poisons, disease, fear, and confusion); Init+2; Perception+12

"Ladies first." Ashur will follow Tanrov and Erin into the house.

GM:
Perception:
Arkwright 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Ashur 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Charlotte 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Erin 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Tanrov 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Yandu 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Ashur 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Charlotte 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Ark, Ashur, Charlotte:

As you approach the Sundial, you hear cries of “Hurry, hurry, don’t be late,” and a child crying. It sounds close, and yet far away at the same time. In any case, the voices make your skin crawl.

Ark, Charlotte:

You may quickly perform one standard or move action if you so choose.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

"Thanks, we will go by the same rules if we find any loot."
Erin states flatly over her shoulder as she takes the lead, and throws a wink to Charlotte.

She then approaches the moon dial pointing at the gate.
"This likely has some sort of important significance to the manor. Seems too prominent to be decoration."

She checks the dial and stairs up to the door for any dangers and motions for the rest of the group to hang back by the dial.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 +2 Traps

Oh and I don't know if you missed it from last mod, but I have the favored terrain class feature, so my init is 3 higher and my perception is 2 higher here. Don't think it would make a difference, but FYI.

"Eh, fair enough." Ashur answers to Erin.

"Did anyone else hear that?" He asks before he is interrupted by something.

We are in Forest now, some distance outside the town. It looks like you only have Urban.

Shadow Lodge

Raging Tiefling Ranger(Guide) 4/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 2 (HP: 64/94 ; AC:20/22, T:11/13, FF:20/22; Fort:+15/12 Ref:+9 Will:+7/5 (+1 versus poisons, disease, fear, and confusion); Init+2; Perception+12

Ah, I thought we were still in the city. Apologies.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

"Hear what?"
Erin asks questioningly as she heads up the steps.

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

"Why all the rush? Anya could have gone ahead to fly over it. Would you mind if I summon her - won't take that long."

Yandu will summon his Eidolon - unless everyone rushes ahead.

Takes 1 minute and Yandu was taken by surprise that after nothing happening everyone storms ahead.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Cleric 11

Charlotte winks at Erin in response and then hears the cries of the the child. She immediately unsheathes her Scimitar and pulls out her Holy Symbol. Looking around and seeing no children, she immediately deduces that there is something that is very foul amiss in this area.

Who is there? She asks I command you to show yourself, we mean you no harm, little one.

GM:
Perception to see if there is anyone there 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Six ghostly figures appear before you on the landing. Apparitions of a woman and two small children huddle together, flanked by spectral armored figures with drawn blades. A robed and hooded woman stands apart from the others pointing down the stairs. The children sob as their mother pleads at you to hurry. The hooded figure calls out sharply, You’re too late! It is sundown. Their lives are forfeit! Despair, futility, and the feeling of being tricked wash over you as the spectral soldiers raise their blades and fall upon the family.

As the image of slain children fades, you catch the breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Your body becomes tired, as if you had just worked a full day of hard labor.
You all are now Fatigued.

GM:

Arkwright 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Ashur 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Charlotte 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Erin 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Tanrov 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Yandu 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Charlotte:

You feel like you recognize the ghostly image of the hooded woman. Perhaps you have met her somewhere, or a close family relation?

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

"Anya - please come to me. I feel lonely."

Yandu starts a ritual to get Anya with him to ensure he doesn't feel alone.

GM:

Unless you decide I would have done so already before. I didn't try to avoid her being fatigued - but there wasn't much real time to post between leaving and being haunted.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Cleric 11

Charlotte immediately sees the figures above her and feels a sense of nostalgia. But she did not know how this was possible.

[Spoiler=GM] I breathe out and as that happens I grab my holy water and begin to bless the area.[ /spoiler ]

Yandu:

I’m not sure what you just said there, but if you are saying that Anya would not be Fatigued, yes, that is fine.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26

Tanrov gasps at the scene before the party.

"Unhappy spirits!" he shouts.

"We shouldn't be here. My brother told me about spirits that dragged a paladin he knew into a well..."

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

GM:

Well - I had said that in the village Anya was dismissed - to ensure there are no repercussions while doing deplomacy.
I didn't wanted to assume I would have summoned her on the way up the mountain while I didn't post.
So being taken by suprise (in person probably as much as in character) that I hadn't her back I try to rectify this now as quickly as possible.

Charlotte:

Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Umm, nevermind.

Andoran

Male Gnome Summoner 6 49/49 hp / AC 25 temp (20) / T15 / F16 / F +4 R +5 W +6 / Ini +4 Per +5

Yandu gives Anya a long hug when she appears.

"I was missing you. I feel safer now that you are here to help me."

Anya will give Yandu +2 AC/Saves while in reach - shield ally.
Unfortunately I seem to be the wrong time zone as it seems action is just about to start at a frentic pace. Will be back tomorrow.

Yandu, thanks for mentioning that. I will assume she stays within arms reach unless you say otherwise.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

"That was extremely creepy."
Erin states quietly from the stairs, with a look of worry passing over her face.

Shadow Lodge

Male Half-elf Magus

Arkwright begins muttering quietly and passes his hand before his face as he casts a spell.

"Creepy with a dash of terrifying. Like a living flashback..."

Casts Detect Magic scanning the whole area and particularly the ghosts/where the ghosts were.

Ark:

You detect one faint aura, on the moon gate.

Shadow Lodge

Male Half-elf Magus

"There's something ahead on that gate..."

Arkwright steps forward carefully, scanning for traps as he gets to the maximum distance to discern the aura on the gate.

Shadow Lodge

Male Half-elf Magus

Hmm I should probably have taken 10. Oh well.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Cleric 11

Sorry about tag being weird. Was on Kindle posting and was not going well.

Charlotte completes her blessing of the area with holy water. She takes one more look around trying to figure out where the source was coming from.

So were those wisdom checks?

"What in the nine hells was that?" Ashur looks like he wants to sit down.

Grand Lodge

Yandu lays his hand on Anya's shoulder and incarnates a spell. (reduce person). Anya shrinks further - being the size of a bird.

"Go and fly above the area. Let us know how the layout looks like or if you spot any dangers. B careful and come back if you are attacked."

Anya takes to the air - carefully and trying to fit in with the birds.

Stealth Take 10 - should be 30 not taking bonuses for tiny into account.

Sczarni

Female Human Rogue 7 (hp 49/59) | F +6 R +9 W +8 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 CMD 24

Erin continues to examine the arch and stairway for dangers.

"Well that confirms that the place is haunted. That dial did something to me though. I feel so...
She stifles a yawn.
"...tired all of a sudden.

Yes, they were Wisdom checks. Charlotte, you don’t see or hear anything else. Erin, no Traps.

Yandu:

When Anya returns she tells you what she saw. The mansion is built from wood, with a second story that is smaller than the first. A wood porch encircles most of the building, except for a Patio out back. Around the left are two gardens, one inside, protected by the roof, and one outside. The morning mist still hangs in the outside garden to the east. This place gives her the creeps and she would rather leave.

Shadow Lodge

"I'm not going in there. You can't fight angry spirits."

"I'm inclined to agree with the sentiment. I'm feeling a little worse for wear myself. But if we go in without you, you'll be out here all by yourself. With possibly angry spirits. I think you'd be safer sticking with us."

Shadow Lodge

Male Human [Shoanti] Male Shoanti Barbarian/Cavalier 8 (hp 77/77 + 0 nonlethal) | F +12 R +6 W +5 | AC 24 T 12 FF 23 CMD 26
