I ignored the first portion of your post because it was settled. I voiced my concern. You saw the inequality, and you provided a solution. I'm not going to shower you with gratification. Hell, I should have never had to say what I did. But after you had come to an agreeable solution you went ahead and decided to push the envelope and challenge things further, bringing something completely different into the argument. No matter our abilities, class progression, whatever, wealth by level is equal. Just because I rely less heavily on equipment doesn't mean the WBL chart changes for me.

The bottom line is, Xi, you ignored me, repeatedly. Its messed up and I'm getting sick of it. Look to my post on Nov 1. I say if I can afford my armor without dipping into my personal money I would give Hera my left over gold for party crafting. Then look at my post at 2:34 this afternoon. I say again, "hey, I screwed up. Let me make some amends here and give Jaz the rest of the gold after I get armor I can actually use".

Where are these posts? I see none of them. Does anyone else see them? If so, I may have some sort of forum issue.

This is what I saw:

Akor wrote:

The Dragonhide Armor, what type of armor is that? +1 Fullplate with Shadow?

If so, I think I might sell it as there is too many penalties for that, and get a Mitrhal Chain Shirt possibly with Shadow if I make enough.

Provided I can afford a +1 Mithral Chain Shirt of Shadow, without having to dip into my own funds, if I have any left over, I will donate it to Hera for party crafting purposes.

Provided I was busy most of the week, which I said and you had pointed out. I did bring this up in a timely manner.

.
.
I'll leave it to Herani to decide, but I feel like donating gold for crafting purposes is ultimately going to be tough on her. She had only initially wanted donations to make her gear - beyond that we should be distributing the gold equally so we can buy gear from her at a much lower and reduced cost. That way she wont have all this 'donated' gold that she now has to equally distribute to the group.

Are we really fighting about loot, again?

If people are so concerned, why don't we all tally up our current personal net worths and post them to see if there's really such a discrepancy, then deal with that?

Xideus, don't count the magical bonuses to Io that you get normally from your class or from your boon as treasure.

Xara currently sits at 22434.5 gp, 16000 of that being my estimation of the staff (although now I realize that I forgot to factor in the unlimited use of detect undead, so it's probably worth more.

(Female Human(Azlanti Pure Blood) Wizard(Metal Elementalist)/2 - Cleric/3)

I have 10,900 worth of magic equip. 8k of that is the ring +2. I also have about 1500 worth of spells and probably a couple of hundred of other equip. I also spent 5600 on my crossbow, but do not have that yet.

(Male Aasimar Inquisitor 18)

As stated before, the bow is +2 so that's 8k, while the armor is currently in limbo, as I haven't officially sold it nor do I know how long before I get back what I want.

If you factor in the armor I desire, it's 12k-ish.

I also have the arrows, which I have no idea what they are, other than Silver.

Cheliax (Male Human Inquisitor/5)

I think I am missing something here. I am not sure whos mad at who and for what, I know Xideus and Akor have a disagreement, but I am not following it 100%.

A lot of this stems from the items I gave you. I know some of you took items that were ok for now in hopes of selling them to get what you wanted. Since this is a PbP I am going to try something a bit differant I think.

How about you all make a "wish list" of items you are seeking. I will try to have those items be the ones that show up instead of just rolling loot tables. That will cut down on some of the confusion maybe. I will put in paraenthesis whos list I took the item from so you know who it is intended for. I will try to give out more even things from here on out. This will also help Herani to know what she can craft for you should an item not become avalible for a while.

Lists should include 2 rings, 2 weapons/shields, special qualities of items, wands, rods ect.

(Male Aasimar Inquisitor 18)

I think the main issue, as far as I understand it, is that Jaz got pretty much nothing from the Hag encounter, while I walked away with a magical bow, suit of armor and some magical arrows.

I then decided to sell the armor, for something better. I also said I would give away any left over gold.

Had I bothered to look up the armor originally, I would never have claimed it. There are too many penalties that go along with it, such as a high armor check penalty and a reduction of speed. While Akor is an archer, I as a player, don't like giving up speed if I can avoid it.

Your solution is excellent Nimon, and one that I have used in a game I am running, and one of my GMs has done the same.

However, I would also caution that totally dispatching of the random loot tables will spoil some of the fun and excitement of defeating a monster, and getting its treasure. Sometimes, good stuff is rolled, stuff you may not have even thought of, but ends up being great for your character. And sometimes you get utter crap, and sell it. Its all part of the fun of D&D/Pathfinder to me.

Yes, I am bias since I am the one who spent my feat on a Creation feat, but I do not know if this is really good. Part of the fun of this game is seeing what you get. If it is worthless to you then it either goes to someone else, or else the party sells it and buys something else. Technically we all know each other, but we are not family, we are not lifelong friends. In the real world, if you were in a business partnership and one partner got something big, a huge bonus or a payment in the form of a material - say a home. You would not just say, well, you have a bigger family, I will wait until we get another house. No, you would demand that the person receiving the home made monetary restitution. This is what should be done. So far, this campaign has been very magic heavy. Based on the WBL table, we are all above, and likely to get even farther above with my ability.

My vote is to give out fairly random treasure. Yes, I would like a +6 Headband of Mental Superiority, but do not expect one. I may start creating a +4/+4 Wis/Int headband, but that is the game.

If your design as a DM is to buff us up and stick us against mega-encounters, that is fine. But the game is designed for a balance and we should keep it that way so that it stays mysterious and interesting. So far I am having fun, and hope that this group can get it all together. I don't agree with the methods and techniques demanded by certain individuals, but for the sake of the game, I stopped fighting. If I find that the play has become unfun, then I will post my concerns and if things do not change, resign. I hope that this does not happen, but it has before in campaigns I am in and expect it to happen in the future.

I only ask you Nimon, as the DM, to keep the game fun and challenging for you and for us. Do not make changes to appease 1 or 2 players which you will regret later when you have to start sticking mega-monsters to make any combat challenging. It is just as much fun to fight a tribe of tough goblins as a fleet of red dragons if the balance is right. In both the death of your character is possible. Lets keep it fun and make the game a challenge, both for our PCs and for our creative minds on how to handle difficult situations without just having a Wand of Kill Everything or a Potion of Immortality.

Anyone heard from Nimon? Something must have happened to him as he seemed pretty into this campaign. I will keep posting every day or two so that it stays live on everyones campaigns' tab.

Hmmm... It will drop if we don't post? That's good to know.

Bump...

(Female Human(Azlanti Pure Blood) Wizard(Metal Elementalist)/2 - Cleric/3)

Ok - remember, when the cat's away, the mice will play. You have all leveled to level 73, so choose 3 classes and take them to level 20 and pick a 4th for level 13 unless you are throwing in some interesting prestige classes just for the heck of it. Also, don't forget to increase you stats for levels 8, 12, 16, . . . 64, 68, and 72.

You know... if we had been playing this whole time this may have been a possibility.

Dot - hoping Nimon makes it back.

Herani:
I'm getting bad juju about the kingdom building extravaganza. Patcher had dropped from his games previously due to stress...

Xideus:

Understood, will just have to wait and see. I have several campaigns that are idle or dead at present, one thankfully as the DM was terrible. If you are interested in playing a cleric, I have one very active campaign which the cleric is likely going to leave. Let me know if you want to join and play a cleric/healer of some sort and I will talk to the DM.

(Male Human (Azlanti Pure Blood) Fighter (Mobile) 1/ Monk 3(Martial Artist))

Well it was really fun playing with you all as it seems this is another dead campaign ^^ it was very fun and hope I get to play with some of you guys in other campaigns.

Yeh - strange that the DM just disappears like that, but not unheard of. I will keep dotting this every so often so that it stays live in case Nimon returns. The problem with this is that it was so unique that I doubt another DM could realistically pick it up.

(Male Human (Azlanti Pure-Blood) Magus (Blade Bound, Kensai) 5)

Herani:
I'm totally down with playing a cleric or healer. Put in the word. I can draft something up over the weekend or maybe even later today. Hurray for short work-days!

(Male Human (Azlanti Pure-Blood) Magus (Blade Bound, Kensai) 5)

Herani:
I think I found the campaign: Heroes of Elsir Vale? Looks like a 25pt buy at level 5. But its looking like the cleric may be staying? Will a druid fit in?

(Female Human(Azlanti Pure Blood) Wizard(Metal Elementalist)/2 - Cleric/3)

Xideus Delorne wrote:

Xideus:
Na - the cleric is going to go, I know him and he does not have the energy for it at present. What were you thinking of? Cleric would be good, druid is probably acceptable, even a witch.

Just think about what you want, we are just starting out on this current part of the game and I think that a druid or a cleric would be fine. I will talk with DM Harpwizard and find out what he wants to do.

(Male Human (Azlanti Pure-Blood) Magus (Blade Bound, Kensai) 5)

Herani:
Actually a wich would work better for a healer/buffer/support type and fit what I am going for. Its tough to come up with a background without some insight into the campaign. It looks like the group showed up for a tournament?

(Female Human(Azlanti Pure Blood) Wizard(Metal Elementalist)/2 - Cleric/3)

Xideus Delorne wrote:

Xideus:

Yup - I joined a bit later when the original sorcerer had to stop playing. There was a tournament in Brindol and all the original five players were tournament champs. There was then a couple of other adventures - a halfling slaving ring, thieves guild, stuff like that to get us up to level 5 where the module/campaign actually starts. I would tell you to read it, but the campaign is up to almost 4000 posts which would take a while even if you are a fast reader.

If you were a witch, you could be living in the Witchwood (kinda funny how that works) and be fleeing from the hobgoblins or something. You could join the party to defeat the hobbys to get your home and land back or something like that.

Let me talk to DM Harpwizard and see what he wants to do.

Taldor (Male Azlanti pure-blood Bard 5)

My great skills bard, alas I hope to play him again one day.

Great gaming everyone hope to again soon.
