It sounds as though this 'rag end' place could easily be close to the sewer entrance we've been using. Yamyra certainly wouldn't object to a side trip .

Yeah it should not take more than half a day to enter the Crow via the sewer entrance and backtrack to the storage area where you found the clockwork servant.

As suspected, Gared's key does indeed fit the clockwork servant. Once he winds it up, the creature springs to life after a few shuddering fits and starts, then stands motionless until the person who wound it up moves. At this point, the servant follows that person, never straying farther than 10 feet away and acting as a bodyguard.

Here are its STATS.

Post will be incoming this evening.

Male Halfling Rogue 5; HP: 35/35; AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 15; Fort: +3, Ref: +9, Will: +3 (+5 vs Fear, +2 vs illusions); Initiative: +4; Perception: +16 (+2 vs traps), Passive Perception: 21

I received one of those great impersonal e-mails from the call center I applied to. I didn't get the job.

That sucks Horven. Do you have any other prospects for employment out there?

So I don't know if he needs to be rendered unconscious again, but at the very least I'm thinking Jasper's only lucid when he's in pain.

Carridan: Sorry about the misunderstanding here. I was not completely clear with Jasper's responses. I should have clarified his gaze was still unfocused after you revived him. In other words the fact he is in pain had nothing to do with his lucidity. I just wanted to emphasize his mental instability here.

I apologize for the confusion.

If you wish to reconsider your actions here, I will allow you to do so.

Well, Jasper did go full crazy again after the second bout of healing. And I'm alright with Carridan misunderstanding things in this respect if he turns out to be wrong. The simple druid is awfully terrible with people, after all.

Okay Carridan, that also makes sense to me. I have no problem with your actions here...AS LONG AS you are not being misled by my descriptions.

So Carridan will stick with his declared action?

I think so, yeah. I'll certainly stop if anyone asks me to, but I think it's the conclusion Carridan would draw given the sequence of events.
