If you can, grab two. I will have Fancy do the same.

Sure, I'll get one if I can. We have a heavy crossbow sized for her in our party loot along with 8 bolts that we can grab later.

Grand Lodge

Ganer? Come in Ganer...it is your turn to act.

(If Ganer does not post within 24 hours, I will NPC his actions.)

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

Well, poop. It seems I may have been misinterpreting the Slam evolution. Apparently, by strict interpretation, I need a pair of limbs for each slam attack; which means I need to convert one of those slam attacks into something else...
DM Eric: It's your call, is that what you want me to do?

Female Tiefling (Demonspawn) Sorcerer 5 (Abyssal) PP=11 HP: 36/39 AC 18 (Touch 12, FF 16) Claws 9/9

You could just call them "slap attacks" and continue like before.

Grand Lodge

Hmmm, after looking over the Slam evolution I see no reason to rule it takes TWO limbs to make a slam attack. Further, looking over the rules for Slam attack it is considered a primary attack. Common sense would say you only need one limb to make a Slam attack, so I rule Fancy is built correctly here. She may be a bit overpowered but so far it has not hurt the game so far. I also think due to a lack of a tank in the group it would be best to keep Fancy as is.

BTW, a quick note here: It may seem as if you guys are waltzing through this portion of the adventure and you would be correct. This part was built for 1st level characters and you are all 2nd level. Don't worry though, things will get tougher soon, he he.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

That was how I initially read the description as well. The subject came up on the lists this weekend & it got me thinking, so I figured I would make you aware DM Eric. Thanks for making the ruling.

Unfortunately, illness seems to be turning my brains into scrambled toast, so don't be surprised if I don't post for a day or so. Will be back when I'm feeling better.

So a bunch of questions: what kind of bow was the goblin using? Did it drop it on the rafters or into the sewage below? Any ammo?

I should've probably asked before delaying :P

Grand Lodge

The goblin was using a shortbow sized for a Small creature. He was actually standing on a ledge so you can recover his bow and quiver.

Did Yamyra just threathen to wash Natalya's mouth with lye? That sounds quite harsh.

Well, it would at least take care of the swearing problem. And probably also the "talking at all" problem...

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

Actually, lye-soap, not lye itself. At least that is what I meant.
An ex room-mate of mine used to make lye-soap & I always found it to be rather pleasant. Of course, I do prefer a more emoliating soap than a lot of people I know, so that might have been part of it.

I'll be heading out of town tomorrow until Wednesday for a family baby shower. Just go ahead and run Horven in the meantime. He'll drink one of his potions of cure light wounds on his next turn (I'll mark it off now).

Grand Lodge

Roger that Horven. BTW is that one of the potions in the Unassigned loot pile you are drinking? If so I can mark it off.

Female Tiefling (Demonspawn) Sorcerer 5 (Abyssal) PP=11 HP: 36/39 AC 18 (Touch 12, FF 16) Claws 9/9

Unless there is any reason to do otherwise, could we gloss over the act of backtracking out of the warehouse?

No, just one in my personal inventory.

Female Tiefling (Demonspawn) Sorcerer 5 (Abyssal) PP=11 HP: 36/39 AC 18 (Touch 12, FF 16) Claws 9/9

You know, I just realized that with her close and personal fighting style and the stab in the chest, Carmina's clothes are probably more than a little bloody. Going to be a fun little parade: A blood-drenched tiefling, a man with a feline head carrying an unconcious woman, and two halflings.

Damn it, fat change we'll be able avoid arousing suspicion with those halflings. :P

Male Halfling Rogue 5; HP: 35/35; AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 15; Fort: +3, Ref: +9, Will: +3 (+5 vs Fear, +2 vs illusions); Initiative: +4; Perception: +20 (+2 vs traps), Passive Perception: 30

Always blame the halflings!

Not certain how much I will be posting 'til Monday. I have family coming into town until then.

Wait a minute, the watch is helping us kidnap people? I love this city!

As Yamyra is still in her mind considering the group to be five people, she has claimed 233 GP from the total unclaimed loot & recommended that the gems be saved for traveling funds.
Having done that, she will show Horven & Gared down to the Keystone District, drop Gared off at Deadeye Lodge, seeming as it is practically the Northwesternmost structure in Keystone, and then show Horven Cynoshure Tower, where she probably owes them for healing the two Varisian thugs she sent there.
Once she has done that, Yamyra will probably be returning to Heidmarch Manor to converse with Natalya, unless others think that should be done first.

Grand Lodge

OK updated the loot list. Each player (including Gared, should he rejoin us) gets 233 gp.

Male Halfling Rogue 5; HP: 35/35; AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 15; Fort: +3, Ref: +9, Will: +3 (+5 vs Fear, +2 vs illusions); Initiative: +4; Perception: +20 (+2 vs traps), Passive Perception: 30

I'll take the potion of invisibility if no one objects.

male Tiefling (Rakshasa Spawn) Oracle 4 Passive Perception 14

Ganer is going to be getting his own rope, in case we need more, and a sling, because a bow of any kind just doesn't seem like his style.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

Just in case there was some uncertainty. I haven't posted yet 'cause I wanted Ganer or Carmina to have a chance to say something in the questioning. I'm about done with questions for Natalya, at least at the moment.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

As I expect we are staying within the city walls to head down to Shore, we will go by Deadeye's Lodge on the way to Cynosure Tower, so I would like to take Gared with so he can get acquainted there. We will wind up coming back for the most part to go 'shopping', but since we seem to be staying at the Pathfinder compound, we would be doing that anyway.

edit: Yamyra's 'shopping list' is going to include at least one set of Masterwork Manacles & lock/locks to go with, as well as Silver Blanche.

Grand Lodge

OK sounds good Yamyra. We can simply handwave this shopping trip but I do want to give Horven a chance to RP his meeting at Cynosure Tower.

Couple of notes...it looks like applying Alchemical Silver to a weapon is a permanent process so keep that in mind. You already have a MW silver dagger so just let me know what additional weapons you want to purchase. You can get the manacles, along with the Blanch, at book price BTW.

One final question, has anyone heard from Gared's player?

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

This is what Yamyra was referring to. Although after reading further, fairly certain it would work best for bolts/arrows/sling bullets...

Also, I would like the opportunity for some RP with the Desnan Priestess as well.

Female Tiefling (Demonspawn) Sorcerer 5 (Abyssal) PP=11 HP: 36/39 AC 18 (Touch 12, FF 16) Claws 9/9

Weapon Blanch only lasts for one succesful attack, so it is kind of useless unless used for ammunition. (In which case, it's pretty sweet.) A light silver weapon only costs +20 gp, so it's not that expensive.

Male Halfling Rogue 5; HP: 35/35; AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 15; Fort: +3, Ref: +9, Will: +3 (+5 vs Fear, +2 vs illusions); Initiative: +4; Perception: +20 (+2 vs traps), Passive Perception: 30

I haven't heard a thing from Gared's player.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

What kind of knowledge check is required for lycanthropes?

Grand Lodge

Hmmm...my first impression would be a Knowledge Nature check, however according to RAW it looks like it would be a Knowledge Local check. I say go ahead and roll Knowledge Local, however I an going to scale the difficulty of the roll up to learn additional details.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

So...
Horven has the most practical experience with Lycnthrope weaknesses...

I like it!

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

It will take a knowledge check to know if Lycanthropes have darkvision won't it?

Unless someone else has a better idea, Yamyra is going to be in favor of heading for the Crow the next night. It will be very difficult to sneak up on any watch-girls keeping an eye from the Crow during the day time, the piling is out in clear water with no concealed approaches. We can practice maneuvering the rowboat during the day beforehand.
How many will the rowboat hold?

Female Tiefling (Demonspawn) Sorcerer 5 (Abyssal) PP=11 HP: 36/39 AC 18 (Touch 12, FF 16) Claws 9/9

Carmina is fine with going at night, having darkvision and all. (And because it means that she'll be able to sleep long in the morning.)

Also, buying a silver morningstar.

Grand Lodge

If you are concerned about sneaking up on the Crow during the daytime, then the locals in Magnimar also know there is (usually) fog in the early morning hours just after the sun rises which can also be used to help hide your approach to the Crow.

Male Halfling Rogue 5; HP: 35/35; AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 15; Fort: +3, Ref: +9, Will: +3 (+5 vs Fear, +2 vs illusions); Initiative: +4; Perception: +20 (+2 vs traps), Passive Perception: 30

Going at night would disadantage Horven since I would need a light source and both hands to fire the crossbow. Maybe I should've gotten that hat with the candle on it.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

Except we will need those once we get inside the Crow anyway. Yamyra will be carrying a torch for herself & Horven since neither of them have darkvision, she just won't be lighting it until they have already gotten inside the Crow.

That said, the morning fog idea also has merit.

male Tiefling (Rakshasa Spawn) Oracle 4 Passive Perception 14

So what you are saying is that you and horven will be relying on the two more. . .whimsical members of the group to guide us in the dark? This is about the point where I start with the villain laugh, by the way.

Halfling Summoner 8, HP 64/64, AC 16/t 12/f 15, F 6 /R 7 /W 9, Init +1, PasPer 11, Sp (1st) 6/6 (2nd) 6/6 (3rd) 3/3, SMI, II, III, IV 8/8

Sigh,
I was really hoping you wouldn't notice that part...

There might be enough room for Fancy in the boat as well.

Grand Lodge

The rowboat can carry 4 Medium sized persons, so since there are 2 Small characters in the party you can fit Fancy in the boat (although Yamyra and Horven would need to sit close to one another ;-)

BTW, the wiki where I host the maps is currently down...I will let you know when it is back up.

Male Halfling Rogue 5; HP: 35/35; AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 15; Fort: +3, Ref: +9, Will: +3 (+5 vs Fear, +2 vs illusions); Initiative: +4; Perception: +20 (+2 vs traps), Passive Perception: 30

Yamyra is used to sitting in Fancy's lap in such circumstances thank you very much.

edit: Of course, there is a strong possibility Fancy may be the one rowing the boat...

Female Tiefling (Demonspawn) Sorcerer 5 (Abyssal) PP=11 HP: 36/39 AC 18 (Touch 12, FF 16) Claws 9/9

Hmm, this might be a good time to mention that Ganer came to Varisia with a brand new, still in the wrapper chronicler's kit. . .
