Ting Tang |
if my math is right this puts Hans at 15, Felicitas started to sing already, Alexos attacked the one Ting will flank, Hans attacked the one nearest him, so they get attacks and Ting (assuming he is still conscious after the red ghouls potential attack) will also attack, clear as mud :)
Squawk
ting flanks the attacking ghoul with Alexos and attacks with his fancy new exotic bastard sword and then pecks for good measure
MW bastard sword attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 13 for damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14
pecks attack: 1d20 - 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) - 1 + 1 + 2 = 3 for damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM Baerlie |
Guys, did you check the map? I'm a bit confused. How does Alexos get into a flanking position if the crypt is only 5-ft wide? Or does he want to delay his action after the ghouls and wait for them to come out? I will go with the delay for now, if it's not what you want to do I'll change it.
Felicitas starts to sing a song about bravery while she sees one of the ghouls getting out of the crypt. Ghoul red double moves outside Alexos and Ting immediately attack, but only Alexos is able to hurt it. The other ghoule blue also gets out of the crypt AoO for Ting and Alexos and tries to bite 1d2 ⇒ 2 Ting but Ting is fast enough to dodge.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 + Disease
I will wait for the AoO before doing Hans' Action, maybe there is only one ghoul left.
Ting Tang |
I assumed Alesox was waiting for the red ghoul to come out for a flank also, ting was originally going to throw a chakram, but there was not a good angle due to the crypt, sorry for the confusion, like I said "clear as Mud" :)
Squawk
As the blueghoul comes near, ting takes a swing at it also.
attack of opportunity, MW Bastard attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8 for damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13
wow, ting didn't hit Alexos by accident did he?
Alexos Virden |
Sure!
Alexos attempts to punch the "blue" ghoul as he passes by to Hans.
Unarmed Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 61d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
sigh, why is it that my attack scores are always the lowest when I get really awesome damage rolls?
Alexos Virden |
OK, think I am going to do this right... correct me if I am wrong.
Alexos, still inspired by Felicitas, and flanking the ghoul with Ting, unleashes a flurry of blows against it.
Flurry of Unarmed Blows: 1d20 + 1 - 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 - 1 + 1 + 2 = 71d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 51d20 + 1 - 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 1 - 1 + 1 + 2 = 111d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5
Ting Tang |
I realize the red ghoul has an attack, I am going to go ahead and post tings attack and go to bed.
squawk
ting swings his new sword at the ghoul and pecks out of shear disgust.
sword attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 21 for damamge: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
peck attack: 1d20 - 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 1 + 2 = 4 for damamge: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Standard Pregen |
With a roar, Hans takes a swing at the remaining ghoul!
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 5) + 10 = 17 damage.
Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 = 16 *ADDITIONAL* damage.
Heh. The law of averages strike again :-P
Feli2 |
Nevertheless, if I am not completly mistaken you cut the ghoul in half!
Holding her wand ready Felicitas looks at her companions and stops singing. "Excellent work. I think one or two more rooms and we have cleared all"
Ting Tang |
while Hans checks the crypt ting starts to take his pack, armor and buckler off. he takes out his lock picks and approaches the next statue.
wells you's blokes 'ave done yer fairs shares 'at fer shure, I's'l do tha next one wroight? I's'l see if I can pops at bloody ol' trapsy, foist, wroight?
with that ting sets his tool to the trap to try and disable it.
disable trap disable device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
well that must be a personal worst 8( enough of that, once ting gets healed he will just push the statue aside and take the second shock
Squawk, a lit'le 'elp 'ear please
GM Baerlie |
It seems that the ghouls were not protecting something. Hans finds only dead bodies.
Ting gets nervous while he tries to disable the trap at the next statue. His hands get slippery and Ting touches the statue accidently. He gets a shock, but the trap is disabled.
Shock: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 DC12 Ref for half
Ting Tang |
save reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 so minus four
ting puts his armor back on and pushes the statue getting shocked again and hopes the door will open
save reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Oy, tanks fer tha healing, Miss
he then looks inside the crypt for anything interesting
he will take 20 on perception
@ Felicitas are you sure you want the last crypt?
GM Baerlie |
Ting opens the door to the next crypt. A plush red carpet runs down this narrow corridor between wood-paneled walls polished to a high sheen. Floating lanterns cast a gentle glow into each alcove flanking the corridor, where bodies wrapped in pristine linen are laid to rest in niches. Rather than the clammy chill of most underground rooms, this chamber is pleasantly warm, and the soothing sound of chimes tinkles softly in the distance. Ting opened the door to the Crypt of Pride.
With his sharp eyes Ting can see a trap between the first pair of alcoves. It's a Color Spray Trap.
Ting Tang |
sorry, not thinking of context :)
ting starts to grumble to himself as he takes his armor off, looking at the potential wealth beyond the trap, his greed getting the better of him.
bloody buggers put's a bloody traps in tha middle of at noice crypty, I tink it's a color spritz traps, or somethin' akin's ta one, I's'l see's what's I's can do, wroight, Watch yer eye-balls wroight
disable device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
ummm, I don't think this is good 8( reflex save?
reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
GM Baerlie |
DC 12 Will save :)
If failed:
unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round
The priests also left a guardian to finish off any intruders who trigger the crypt’s trap—a single gore-soaked skeleton lurking in the second alcove to the north. It emerges as soon as the trap goes off, attacking anyone in the crypt or within 15 feet of the entrance.
Init. Alexos: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Init. Felicitas: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Init. Hans: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Init. Ting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Init. Skeleton: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Round 1

Alexos
waiting for Ting's will save before doing an action with the skeleton
Alexos Virden |
hoo...boy.... this is going to be interesting. Might not be able to post later, so my move will be to defend.
Alexos, busy writing everything in his journal, notices the skel coming out of the alcove.
"Hans, think I will let you smash the gore off of its bones."
Standard Pregen |
Well, on the plus side, Ting Tang is out for the count, so Hans can just move into his square...
Seeing Ting-Tang dropped to the floor, and the gore-splattered skeleton moving to finish him off, Hans roars, and charges forward!
Greatsword, Rage, Charge: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 + 2 = 18, for 2d6 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 + 3 = 19 damage.
Feli2 |
I have heard of some strange grey unicorn charging enemys. I doubt it does more pain than hans.
If the skeleton is still alive Feli will try to trip it with her whip
trip: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Standard Pregen |
@Alexos: Now, now. No need to taunt the GM - we are a party of four with limited healing - if we can't nuke the encounter in 1-2 rounds, things will probably go badly for us...
@Ting Tang: You are out for 8 rounds, so hopefully Hans will not still be standing over you when you wake up ;-)
Alexos Virden |
Fair enough, not really meaning to "taunt" as such... it is just reminding me of a time when I was playing Time Crisis 3 with some friends of mine on console. All the unlimited ammo settings had been unlocked, so I was going with the grenade launcher. My friend was going with the shotgun, and at one point complained to our other friends: "He is killing them before they even spawn on screen!" You, my friend Hans, are the Pathfinder equivalent to a grenade launcher. ;P
Ting Tang |
ting looks around the crypt, seeing the skeletal remains, pick himself up and walking out, he puts his armor back on, thinking to himself
needs ta figure a ways ta do 'is wit tha armor on
Oy, did I's miss any'ting important-lyke, or's do I not's want ta know's, wroight?
looking at the rest of the party
one last stature, since I's just had a nap I's'l do it, wroight
ting pushes the last statue, after the shock he will inspect the crypt
taking 20 on perception
reflex save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Standard Pregen |
@Alexos: Fair enough - I wasn't being serious; I was just gently ribbing you ;-)
@GM Baerlie: I assume that you mean Ting Tang, not Hans ;-)
Hans patiently waits for Ting Tang to wake up, and once satisfied that he is okay, begins to carefully search the area, before moving on to the last door.
"Lucky last?"
GM Baerlie |
Gasp Trap 9g: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
This crypt is noticeably colder than the surrounding rooms, and a rime of ice crystals coats the walls and the remains of the dead interred here. The Crypt of Envy has become infested with brown mold, which grows in four 5-foot-diameter patches in the alcoves in the far eastern portion of the catacombs. The mold is covered in a thick layer of dust.
Brown mold feeds on warmth, drawing heat from anything around it. It normally comes in patches 5 feet in diameter, and the temperature is always cold in a 30-foot radius around it. Living creatures within 5 feet of it take 3d6 points of nonlethal cold damage. Fire brought within 5 feet of brown mold causes the mold to instantly double in size. Cold damage, such as from a cone of cold, instantly destroys it.
Standard Pregen |
Will: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1.
Hans looks around the room appreciatively, then shakes his head.
"Well, it looks pleasant enough, but I doubt there is anything particularly valuable in here. Let's see what is behind the last door."
Standard Pregen |
@GM Baerlie: None of the remaining party members has Knowledge(Dungeoneering)...
Breathing a sigh of relief when nothing jumps out to attack the party, Hans cautiously motions Ting Tang forward, and moves to cover the plucky Tengu as he searches the crypt.
Alexos Virden |
"Hm... odd that the room is so cold. Perhaps the priests can use it as a preparation chamber or something."
Alexos notes as he enters the oddity in his journal.
"I think there are still a few areas we still need to explore before calling this complete... back where we first started for example."
Standard Pregen |
Hans nods.
"From what I can tell, there is a door near the entrance we have not explored beyond, and there is also the chamber beyond the refuse pit that we did not look at."
Heeding Alexos' suggestion, Hans meanders his way back to the door in question, allowing Ting Tang to have a chance to inspect it.
