Alexos Virden |
Alexos smiles at the merry, if smelly, little bonfire he has created.
"Well that takes care of the hand, as well as any more that might have been lurking under there. Hope there wasn't anything precious in there that doesn't react well to fire... guess I should have thought of that first. Still, you have to admit it is pretty."
Alexos attempts to examine the flames, seeing if there is anything moving or salvagable.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Ting Tang |
so ting following what he believes to be Felicitas. instruction heads back up the long hall to the north into room 22

Alexos Virden |
Alexos nods, marks everything on his mapmaker and makes a note in his journal to have the priests send someone to bless the ashes afterword.
Hey, wait up for me everyone!
Yay, finally see the map... and updated my position on my own!
GM Baerlie |
This room is a charnel house of blood, bones, and scraps of rotten flesh. Strange runes have been sloppily drawn on the walls using some dark brown pigment. A moss-covered stone monolith stands in the center of the room, wreathed in gossamer wisps of gray mist that seem to congeal around the crumbling stone.
Two foul, undead creatures called festrogs (also known as “dog-ghouls”) occupy this chamber, fighting with each other over discarded bones and scraps of rotten meat. They appear as hairless, malformed corpses with gray-green, pustule-covered skin and oversized jaws that make them seem more beast-like than humanoid, but they retain their human intelligence. Risen from corpses sworn to the sin of gluttony, the festrogs are consumed with ravenous hunger.

while were waiting for Viincent a quick question, is the floor considered rough terrain or is a charge potentially possible, I realize you describe it as a charnel house, just checking, thanks RH
GM Baerlie |
A charge is possible, the bones are piled at the walls. But don't forget the monolith in the middle of the room.
Hans is the first to attack one of the foul creatures, but was not fast enough to hit it. Viincent comes up after he studied the last room thoroughly. Felicitas sings her song to inspire her companions.
The ghouls attack with their claws.
Attack red vs. Hans: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Standard Pregen |
"Right then let's keep moving. Ting Tang? Do you want to search the room before we move on? I will keep an eye on the corridor to the West whilst you do so..."
So saying, Hans moves over to the indicated corridor, and stands, ready in case something bursts through the door.
Alexos Virden |
Alexos shakes his head. "I'm not at least."
He replies as he investigates the room for any hidden items of interest, as well as inspecting the bodies (both those that had risen and the ones they were feasting on) for anything Ting will find to be valuable.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Ting Tang |
ting looks at Sefu and then Hans

Come on you's blokes 'is 'ere crypty aint getting any younger, wroight?
Ting Tang |
Ting follows Alexos through the door, hoping the rest of the party is not far behind.
Oy Hans ya wants we go lefties or wroighties. ta gets around 'is 'ere pit
@ Baerlie, sorry if it's improper, I moved the cover enough to see rooms doorway, so I would have context for the question to Hans. Thank RH.
Standard Pregen |
Hans shrugs.
"I can take the right, and you can take the left? It has worked for us so far..."
He will then move cautiously into the room, taking his time to actively look around as he does so.
Perception 'take 20' = 24.
GM Baerlie |
A thirty-foot-diameter pit fills this circular room, its bottom lost in darkness. The ceiling arches twenty feet above the pit, which is encircled by a narrow, five-foot-wide walkway. A door stands in the opposite wall of the room, across the pit.
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Hans finds a secret door at the northern wall of the room, the door is locked.
Feli2 |
"Very interesting. We could throw a torch down, but somehow I am not sure I want to know whats down there. But .. the motto of the pathfinder is explore not shirk from it!"
Standard Pregen |
Yeah... Let's *not* go there ;-)
"Why don't we finish checking this level out first? After all, that is what we were asked to do... By the way, Ting Tang, there is a secret door over here, which is locked; could you come and take a look at it?"
He then waits patiently for Ting-Tang to come and have a look.
Ting Tang |
ting goes into the room and looks around, searching for anything interesting.
he will take 20 on perception
Oy, Gov'n'r I's'l takes a look-see, but keep leanen in's, yer spinny-head-rock is lighten it ups wroight nicely
GM Baerlie |
Hans has a nose for this :D
It turns out that this vault was looted some time before. Instead you find a Iron Cobra guarding this empty vault.

attack. beak: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10 damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
five foot step, after attack, not a surprise round, correct?
Alexos Virden |
Heh... fun times... dibs on its fangs, my drinking horn needs an embellishment, ;)
Alexos, caught a bit unawares of the situation, stumbles to put his mapmaker away.
"Where in Irori's name did that thing come from? I dislike snakes normally... but I am just gratefull to find something living in here."
Given the confined nature of the space, Alexos will simply watch unless the snake escapes the room, at which point he will engage it. Translation: Bot me as waiting/defering/whatevering each round as long as it is in the 5 ft. square room.
Standard Pregen |
Hans nods to Ting Tang.
"Alexos, I think you might be disappointed - this thing appears to be made from iron! I suppose that you could melt it down and make a drinking horn from it that way, though..."
Hans will delay, hoping that the cobra will follow Ting Tang out (because frankly, I would like the flank!).
