Ting Tang |
At's what I's lykes, a bloke 'ats willens ta make a call, Shall we's 'en
ting moves with Alexos up the stairs into the hall toward the north eastern corner, searching for traps or foot prints or secret doors as they go.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 secret doors
survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 foot prints
traps: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 traps
Alexos Virden |
Alexos keeps his eyes open for doors, traps... treasure... lore... anything!
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
"I am surprised we haven't found any more antiquities yet... the Runelords were decadant, as were some of their followers... you would think someone would be buried with real treasure, unlike that fake illusionary treasure we came across."
Ting Tang |
ting turns and smiles at Alexos, as they are headed up the hall
blimey, Alexos, I 'ope 'airs a clergically feller up stairs 'at can 'eal yer eyeballs er whatevers wrong 'at ya can't see 'ow beautiful all 'at stuff was back 'air. But t'anks fer reminden me's, we's needs ta goes back an' gets it all, I gots so entertained wit Hans killen stuff, I abouts fergot, wroight?
Alexos Virden |
"If any were alive... er... re-alive.... you would think they would have attacked by now. Perhaps we just toss some holy water on it and see what happens?"
Alexos stands by in case someone decides to do so.
"Oh, and Ting... if I ask the priests for anything it will be someone with a wand of dispelling illusions to reveal the chamber for the trap it really is."
Ting Tang |
Part 11 is the disposal pit, the stairs from the intersection go below the disposal pit to -30ft to the big hall in the middle (8)... You can go north to the undiscovered parts or west to the big hall (8)
if I understand Hans right he means the bodies that would be in the disposal Pit. and since the passageway goes -30ft below the disposal pit we can't get to it from here. My original assumption was that the passageway was the disposal pit also and the tunnel running from the alchemists lab passed through it, albeit higher up. If Hans means something else ting would love to go search there, he is still a major suck-up
ting looks at Hans a little confused and replies to Alexos
finallies we's getten somewhere's you's understands you's 'as been illusionated, wroight
Ting Tang |
GM Baerlie, I just reread my above post, I didn't mean to sound so bossy. If we can go back and inspect 11, i.e. the pit from the lab, from here or if there is anything in the corridor, please let us know. I obviously didn't think we could. thank RH
Sefu Sekala |
"I'll take the wand, Ting," Sefu says. "Let me see if I can identify its potential use."
The magus takes the wand, if offered, and gives it a once over, turning it about in his hands and muttering intelligible words under his breath.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Sefu scratches his head and offers the wand to one of the other casters.
"Sorry, I can't quite zero in on its specific properties," he says. "Perhaps one of you could take a look."
Two successful DC10 Spellcraft checks to aid Sefu and we've got this wand identified.
Ting Tang |
ting hands the wand to Sefu
'appy ta oblige cap'n, I aint got no purpose fer it. Wroight
@Alexos, with as little luck as we have had throwing holy water, can we just dump it on someone and have them run through the pile? =)...any volunteers?
GM Baerlie |
I just looked up the description again in the module. It seems to go through to the staircase. Sorry for the confusion, you can search the content of the pit if you go downstairs. Just tell me where you want to go, 11 or 22. But I would not suggest to split the party ;)
11
The ceiling opens up between two staircases in this wide corridor, creating a shaft above the hallway. Ten feet up, the shaft appears to connect to another passage above running north-south. A grisly heap of decaying body parts lies at the bottom of the shaft. The air is rank with the smell of rot, corruption, and pungent chemicals.
22
This room is a charnel house of blood, bones, and scraps of rotten flesh. Strange runes have been sloppily drawn on the walls using some dark brown pigment. A moss-covered stone monolith stands in the center of the room, wreathed in gossamer wisps of gray mist that seem to congeal around the crumbling stone.
Ting Tang |
my apologies to Hans
seems lyke Hans had hiself a good ideas, lets head downs tha stairs an' check out tha pile o' parts he saw wroight.
with a quick nod to Hans ting heads down to the bottom of the first staircase room 11 and begins to take a look around for traps, hidden doors or anything interesting.
take 20 on perception, once he checks the perimeter he will wade through the heap of decaying body parts, he is a crow
GM Baerlie |
There are no traps or hidden doors, but Ting sees something moving between the body parts. When looking closer Ting identifies it as three diminutive crawling hands.
Init. Alexos: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Init. Felicitas: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Init. Sefu: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Init. Hans: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Init. Ting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Init. Viincent: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Init. Crawling Hands: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
Round 1

Hands
Alexos
Standard Pregen |
Hans winks at Felicitas.
"Oh, I don't know - I think we should all be able to 'lend a hand' to resolving this situation quite 'handily'! That said, at this rate, I would not be surprised if we were attacked by a swarm of eyeballs..."
Standard Pregen |
Fair enough.
Hans grins broadly at Felicitas.
"There is a time, and a place, to use hands and eyes for that, but sadly, this is not the time..."
Hans strides forward, standing 'shoulder to shoulder' (or at least, hip to shoulder!) with Ting-Tang, and takes a swing at a different hand...
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 = 18 damage.
Feli2 |
Felicitas takes out a pen and writes down the action of the battle for later reverence as a song. She assumes this is not too dangerous and she would be in the way anyway.
Alexos Virden |
Pouring some might help... or just pitching it.
Alexos rolls his eyes at the exchange, and at the hands moving.
Don't joke... I wouldn't be surprised by heads moving towards us by using their teeth to move at this point.
Alexos will wait for everyone to move before taking his turn.
Sefu Sekala |
Sefu casts some positive energy toward the closest hand.
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Standard: Cast disrupt undead at hand.
Ting Tang |
as ting is watching the hand move about sideways, because of the missing fingers,
Blimey, It looks lyke a crab on tha sandy sand,
he asks Alexos
Oy Alexos did ya say you's was agonna throw fire instead o' water, if'n ya are's I's'l, jump back, just asken wroight
then to Hans
watch out gov'n'r, I's 'av seen 'im throw, watch out 'at 'e don't scorch 'em white furs or 'em red eye brows, just sayen, wroight
never taking his eyes off of the crab like hands
Alexos Virden |
Don't worry, I'll only use it as a last resort. And if you both are clear. If you any are still alive after your attacks, pull back and I'll scotch them!
Don't worry, waiting for your attacks... just move back when you are finished... assuming there are any alive after.
GM Baerlie |
Sefu's disrupt undead spell does not harm the Hands, there is to many bones and flesh around them.
The two remaining hands jump at Ting and Hans and try to strangle them.
Attack Hans: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Damage: 1d1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack Ting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Damage: 1d1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Viincent is up

hand 1 -4HP
hand 2 dead
hand 3
Standard Pregen |
Viincent said that he was delaying, so I am going to go ahead and post my Round 2 actions.
Hans attempts to bat aside the hand attacking him!
Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, for 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 1) + 10 = 15 damaage.
"You're doing great, Ting-Tang! Now, finish it off!"
Ting Tang |
ok, me too :)
ting: bolstered by the encouraging words from Hans and secretly not trusting Alexos to throw "fire", notices a pattern in how the hand is moving and attacks with his sword and pecks for good measure
attack with sword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12, damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
and just for fun, a natural attack at -5 =)
natural attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10, damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
squawk, floggen', flingen',flippen', floppen' Frankenstein fingers g-rated cussing for the angry crow :0
"rule-wise" is that how to do a natural attack, as a second attack It doesn't read the same way a "two-weapon" attack does, if that is not right please ignore the pecking attack, thanks
Sefu Sekala |
Having deliberated far too long over his next course of action, Sefu withdraws behind Alexos.
"Go ahead, throw your flask!" the magus says once he is safely behind his ally.
Sorry about that guys - some weekends do not lend themselves to active posting. This was one of them.
Alexos Virden |
Well, here goes nothing... and really hope no one, including myself, is in splash radius.
Alexos nods to Sefu.
"Well, here goes nothing."
Alchemist's Fire Flask: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 191d6 ⇒ 5 Fire damage!
Think I did that right, it says its a touch attack ranged, so should be melee attack bonus, not ranged, correct?
