Dorgrin Ironbeard |
Dorgrin walks up to the lemures, opens the flask and pour its content out onto the wounded one.
Pour holy water (ranged touch attack)/red lemure: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 8
Damage: 2d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2, 1) + 1 + 1 = 5
GM Baerlie |
Miro continues singing while Ragnar changes his weapon and goes into flankin position with Tenderstump. Dorgrin pours the holy water at the lemure, but not careful enough to make it wet. Kyroden swings his weapon at the Lemure in front of him and hits, but also this wound Closes fast.

Dorgrin Ironbeard |
Cursing his clumsiness, Dorgrin moves toward the back of the room, making sure to avoid the claws of the devils.
Withdraw action
Shouldn't the red lemure be at -6 hp instead?
Miro Ammars |
Miro continues to sing, hoping the extra added morale will result in his companions crushing these creatures.
"Press on, my friends! Our victory is all but assured, and we have three dwarves to rescue from a fate most foul! Or to avenge, if needed!"
Dorgrin Ironbeard |
Actually, and unless I am mistaken, in the first round, Maeon and the treant did 7 and 8 points damage to the red lemure for a total of 5 points by counting the DR.
Afterwards, Ragnar did 6 points damage with his klar (for a total of 1) and so, in the end, the lemure should be at -6 ;-)
Maeron Calaerdaer |
We did do 7 & 8 in the first round.
Maeron sheaths the wands before joining Tenderstump again in their attack on the lemure.
Masterwork Longbow: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 4 = 31d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Slam 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Slam 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 201d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Net total of 1 damage after DR then...
GM Baerlie |
You are right, I removed it somehow while copy & pasting, sorry :( -7 should be correct now after Maeron's and Tenderstump's attacks.
Maeron and Tenderstup attack the lemure, but only one of Temderstump's slams hits the target.

Miro Ammars |
GM, I believe Icarus already stated his action above. He moves into the room, advancing on the Lemures if people have moved to allow him space.
GM Baerlie |
I see, sorry for that. I thought there is something coming after everybody else moved ;)
The lemures attack with their claws.
1d3 ⇒ 3 1d2 ⇒ 2
Attack red vs. Kyroden: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Miro Ammars |
Miro moves to just inside the doorway, getting out his sling while he sings of his companions exploits. He wished they would exploit a little faster, as he can't keep up the song forever.
Miro will delay until after Icarus, and will move into the space Icarus now occupies. Otherwise, he moves right outside the door. Draws his sling. Sings round 3 of Inspire Courage.
Maeron Calaerdaer |
Maeron and Tenderstump unleash another volley of attacks into the lemure.
Masterwork Longbow: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 - 4 = 61d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Tenderstump Slam 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Tenderstump Slam 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
But Maerons aim faulters and Tenderstumps attacks fail to deal any substantial damage.
"We need to bring some force to bare on these beasts, we're barely scratching them."
Garret Powers |
Kyroden offers healing to anyone who needs it.
I am out of town right now so I may drop off.
If you could 5ft step somewhere I could assist with the battle.
Dorgrin Ironbeard |
Dorgrin picks a silvered bolt from another quiver, puts it into his crossbow and lets it fly towards the devil in front of him.
Attack heavy crossbow/blue lemure: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 12
Damage: 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10
GM Baerlie |
While Miro continues singing his bard song Kyroden offers healing. Dorgrin shoots a bolt at the Lemure, but the shot was not targeted precisely enough. Ragnar swings his hammer at the lemure in front of him and smashes it into small pieces. While Maeron misses his target, Tenderstump hits twice, but again the wounds close fast.

Miro Ammars |
Miro moves closer to the devilish thing, singing all the while. No dirges of doom here, just inspiring little phrases and verses. He starts swinging his sling around, aiming not to hit the beast, but to make it off balance to provide Ragnar with an easier target.
Sling Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 4 = 0
Geesh
Maeron Calaerdaer |
I think you need to threaten with a melee weapon to aid another anyway Miro, so slinging wouldn't help.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Maeron gestures for Tenderstump to switch his attack to the remaining lemure, which the sapling quickly does.
Slam 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Slam 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Maeron himself then launches another arrow, hopeful his aim will pick up.
Masterwork Longbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 41d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Dammit
Dorgrin Ironbeard |
Dorgrin takes a new silvered bolt and shoots at the remaining lemure.
Attack heavy crossbow/blue lemure: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 26
Damage: 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4
Miro Ammars |
Kyroden said he would be out of pocket, I believe. He said he would heal if needed. I'd like to also believe he would back away to allow Icarus an opportunity to bust this creature in the grill. Lol
Icarus Freson |
Seeing an opening, suddenly I charge forward screaming, not really wanting to be anywhere near the melty looking creatures
Crowbar: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 18
damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9
I swing viciously connecting with its head.
Maeron Calaerdaer |
Glad that's finally over. They were a slog.
Maeron breaths a sigh of relief as the evil creatures are finally destroyed, patting Tenderstump on the shoulder to stand the treant down.
"We should quickly tend to our wounds and push on. If there are creatures like that here I fear for the lives of those we are seeking."
Miro Ammars |
"Good show, Icarus! You showed that...whatever it was who was boss!"
Miro nods his agreement to Maeron and moves to inspect the door next to Ragnar. He also gets out his shield.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Maeron Calaerdaer |
Maeron draws his wand of cure light wounds tapping his plant companion with a charge as he recites the activation words.
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Miro Ammars |
Miro shrugs at Icarus's suggestion. "One way is as good as another, I suppose."
He will go back out in the store room and check out the door Icarus unlocked, as well.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Maeron Calaerdaer |
Maeron nods.
"Icarus is right. Let's check the storage room first, then return here, but we must be swift."
The treesinger follows quickly behind Miro.
GM Baerlie |
The storage room and the hidden room do not contain anything useful. Only old plates, spoons, glasses and other unused stuff from the inn.
Acutally, it doesn't matter which door you open, they both lead into the same room.
This area is bare save for a rickety side table and chair set against the north wall. A set of keys lies on the table, alongside a browned, half-eaten apple, stale crust of bread, and dull paring knife. Ironbound oaken doors lie on the eastern and western walls, and a door-lined corridor stretches to the south.
Miro Ammars |
Looks messy. Miro will search the room for anything else.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
If he doesn't find anything useful, he'll grab the keys and check out the western door.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Miro Ammars |
"There might be more to our mute stable boy, my friends."
Well, he had never met a door that didn't want for opening, so he twists the key and opens the western door. As he does so, he attempts to hide behind the opening door, peeking around it.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
GM Baerlie |
A wooden ladder descends from above into this cluttered and dimly lit L-shaped room. Crates and bits of furniture are stacked against brick walls and oaken doors lie to the east and south. The crates contain extra linens and tableware for the inn, as well as a variety of men’s and women’s clothing from a number of different cultures and races.
Dorgrin Ironbeard |
While his companions are searching the rooms, Dorgrin tries to retrieve the silvered bolt that missed the ennemy.
retrieve bolt (1-50-->find it): 1d100 ⇒ 16
He finds it undamaged and, satisfied, puts it back in the quiver.
He then reload his crossbow and watches the doors and the corridor.
Miro Ammars |
"Ladder going up, probably into the Inn proper, and two more doors, one to the east, one to the south."
Miro ponders, then closes the door, relocking it with the key. He'd prefer they clear these known rooms, first, before putting more doors at their backs.
Icarus Freson |
"Wow, a lot of doors in this hall."
I will pick up the box of hair and blood, if for no other reason then to destroy the contents later to make sure they are not used for ill.
I follow Miro as he looks in the next door.
