@ TCG - Ninja is a better mechanical class than rogue so I'll probably take your advice there. Thanks. Im playing one in my tabletop game so it'll be a good test to see what works well at higher levels.

Still not decided on wether cross classing or prestige classes will be worth it. Leaning towards shadow dancer PC or CC with Soulknife if Psionics are allowed. If so then I need to look at Psionic Races as well. I like the Ophiduan. Ill need a DM-Arbiter call on that though.

Oh, thats cool. I suspect that'll be one of my favored forms, perhaps with a disguise self overlay to appear as a winged elf. ;-)

Male Pale Master

Ok after lunch and contemplation Im scratching the Psionics spin.

Im pretty set on going Elven (wanna brother or cousin TCG?) -

and either straight ninja 18 or ninja 12/fighter 2/shadow dancer 4

WOrks for me. Perhaps actual brothers perhaps brothers in arms. Either is fine by me.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

@Tiny: Stoneskin's a good one. Iron body seems pretty handy for yourself. Outside of the obvious ones of Breath of Life, Raise Dead, Restoration, etc..., maybe Death Ward?

Freedom Of Movement? (Barring the fact that we all don't have such already)

Invisiblity, Greater; Invisibility Mass.

Dispel Magic, Greater. (REVENGE!!! Yes! Of course, this could be a personal issue.) :)

if youre still offering Permenancy options the I'd be in favor of Resistance and Telepathic Bond.

Just pay the gold and consider it done. In the case of telepathic bond I'll split the cost with you assuming I can still afford it after the crap ton of spell casting expenses. lol.

m Orc 8 Fighter / 2 Champion

GM, I had decided to be Middle Aged for flavor and a little extra boost to wisdom. I had actually forgotten about the monk ability to ignore aging penalties. Are you okay with me doing so? If not, I will want to use the Qinggong Archetype to swap that power for something else if I can as it won't be of any use to me.

m Orc 8 Fighter / 2 Champion

Looks like if I do swap it out, it will be for Restoration. As a spell-like ability, there is no material component. That should save us some money in the long run.

So Races are:

Elf
Elf
Human
Human
Dwarf
Aasimar

I have kind of built my character to be a bit of a crusader, so the Mendevian Crusade might be a good place to meet up. I could at least have met up with our Inquisitor there because of the high influence of Iomedae there. The destruction of demons as a common enemy is enough to bring friends together, as well as the ability to be comrades in arms.

The only problem with a story as such is that we would need a reason to leave said crusade to follow our own purposes. Maybe we were brought together by a beloved officer who saved all our lives at one point or another, and we ended up working with them directly. Perhaps our general was killed, and our loyalty was to him/her and not to the crusade or the martial effort there but to the general goal of the militaristic action and we are free to choose our own path.

A group name in this case would involve the name of our general, or his/her nickname. Such as "Hands of the Red Captain" or "Blades of the Fallen King."

What it says on the tin; Caffiene addict 20

I plan for my backstory to have my family/village/children murdered by fiends. Perhaps ones I summoned thinking I could control it/them. I would then seek out other groups that killed demons regularly.

At least it's a nice, fun background! ;)

Pc A: "Hello there, <insert Tiny Coffee's pc name here>, nice to meet you! I'm here to help rid the land of the demonic force that encompasses this area, because that's just the right thing to do!" He swings his fist through the air as if giving an atta boy. "How about you?!"

TCG's Pc: Smiling and in an equal jovial mood, "That's great! Me? Well I accidently slaughtered an entire village, my family included, because I wanted to see if I could control demons that I summoned! You know, I thought it would just be kinda cool. 'Cause summoning and controlling demons is cool. Like bowties. But whoaaa man, let me tell you, that was a sight! Blood, screaming, murder everywhere," he throws his arms out wide, demonstrating. Then slapping Pc A on the shoulder, "It was NOT pretty, let me tell you. So, you know, I figure, I guess I ought to go out and destroy the ones I haven't summoned." He shrugs nonchalantly. "'Cause that's cool too." He winks.

Seeing how Pc A has seem to grow pale and appearing as if he has lost his appetite, "You gonna eat that?" He grabs the food off Pc A's plate, motions with the fresh meat, "Thanks!" and munches down.

:)

I live to amuse.

Sorry guys, on Sundays I usually travel to see friends and family. Once I'm home I'll take a look at things. I'm disinclined to let any character have higher starting attributes than the others. You may certainly play someone who is older than normal, but I'm not certain about it allowing any mechanical benefit or detriment.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

If Slayer wasn't so badass, I'd take a few levels of Paladin. Combining Inquisitor and Pally would be so awesome in this game.

No biggie. I will put everything together as if he were not middle aged then and just call him old. Not a big deal. I totally understand.

I will take the Qinggong Archetype and swap the power for Restoration. And Slow Fall for Barkskin (self only) while I am at it.

My character just went to fight the beasts of the abyss because it seemed at the time to be better than to live in the same country as his wife. He stayed because he was right.

The only time I really enjoy multiclassing is when qualifying for a prestige class. But yeah, a paladin would serious kick some major tail against some demons. Heck, if I didn't have an abysmal Charisma (pun intended) I would be jumping into some paladin levels already, that is after 17th level. Ki Focus Bow is incredible!

What are people planning as far as Skills are concerned? Do we have the Knowledges covered? I know with an Alchemist and a Genius Theurge we should probably be okay, but do we have the social skills too? I was thinking about investing in diplomacy, but since I don't have a ton of skills it might be better to invest elsewhere.

I do have rockin' awesome perception and sense motive skills though.

It's always nice for at least one person to have diplomacy. I often grant circumstance bonuses when the PCs make a good argument or frame things in a way that will really influence that particular individual.

As for a low charisma, don't forget you can always buy a +6 stat booster, or the +3 charisma skill booster (or both in the same package if you pay the extra cost).

I'm almost home again and will look over the rest of the thread soon.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Yeah, ditto on the perception/sense motive bit.

No good on diplomacy though. Monk of the Sacred Mountain take a vow of silence. I can speak (and can see him doing so when not out an about destroying the bad guys) but I lose the ability for 24 hours. Which is no big deal as long as I'm not in the lair of the beast at the time. ;)

That and my charisma stinks. :P

Speaking of the vow of silence, I've invested in a helm of telepathy just so I can "think" to the others when such an occasion occurs.

Is that cool? Or would you deem that as cheating?

Human

Know for sure ill have
Craft Alchemy
heal
knowledge arcana
knowledge nature
perception
disable device
spell craft
survival
and my headband gives me
stealth
umd
acrobatics.

The Cracked Pearly White Ioun stone isn't a bad idea. You are correct, hit point damage cannot kill you if you have such a stone. You can also reattach severed limbs and body parts within an hour.

This wouldn't protect against effects that just kill you outright (symbol of death), but it will save money for situations where people die from simple physical damage and direct damage spells.

Regeneration (ex):
Regeneration (Ex) A creature with this ability is difficult to kill. Creatures with regeneration heal damage at a fixed rate, as with fast healing, but they cannot die as long as their regeneration is still functioning (although creatures with regeneration still fall unconscious when their hit points are below 0).

Attack forms that don't deal hit point damage are not healed by regeneration. Regeneration also does not restore hit points lost from starvation, thirst, or suffocation. Regenerating creatures can regrow lost portions of their bodies and can reattach severed limbs or body parts if they are brought together within 1 hour of severing. Severed parts that are not reattached wither and die normally.

A creature must have a Constitution score to have the regeneration ability.

I was unaware of the "no speaking" clause on the level 17 ability. I don't think that using a helm of telepathy violates that since it specifically refers to speaking. It will make roleplaying your character a bit more difficult, so I'll leave the decision up to you.

It does hurt to lose evasion and improved evasion, to my mind. Be sure you like what you are getting in return.

That's an interesting item. I sorta like it, but the idea of you guys having to buy it "just in case" does not sit well with me. For now, hold off on buying it yourself. I might have an NPC give you guys an item like that toward the beginning of the game.

If death is so common that it threatens to wipe out all party treasure, something like this will be needed.

Sounds like Labyrinth. I have a strong urge to build a devil based on David Bowie and send him over for a chat.

I'll look over the rules to make sure the individual bits of the plane conform to the rules once you're finished with it. But this is exactly the sort of things I expect the PCs to do in a higher level game. Sounds great to me.

Also, If I take one level of Inquisitor and the conversion Inquisition, then I can use my wisdom bonus instead of my Charisma bonus for diplomacy, and get a bigger bonus. With 18 ranks and a skill focus, I could talk anybody into anything.

Unless MG or Steihl9s wanted to invest in diplomacy, in which case I would let them. There is always intimidate though...

What if I just name my character Bowie and we call it a day. How about Ratheon Bowie. ;-)

On that note I am building the character profile today. Also if you need any input on the plane thing let me know. The Gamemastery guide is what I went by for the plane building. Specifically the ways to manipulate the Timeless trait. Frankly unless someone is stupid enough to follow me to the Labryrnth I suspect it won't be anything more than a respite should we need it. Also in the plane is a bunch of doors that lead to Mages Mansion's only they are also deathtraps with no discernible exit. Frankly a high int character with months/years to plan and access to high magic is going to come up with some really nasty suprises.

Male Pale Master

Im building my character now.

Going with Elven Fighter 2 / Ninja 12 / Shadow Dancer 4

Im definitely down for Teamwork feats. At least Outflank and/or Paired Opportunist or Stealth Synergy.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

I can be the party face, especially I take the archetype that adds my wis to Dip.

Also, I get plenty of teamwork feats.

We still have Zen Archer or did he switch that?

Male Pale Master

^ Cool! Im taking Outflank then.

and I'm focusing on Intimidate and Bluff.

Oh, I'm still doing Zen. Polishing off my skills, actually. I saved some room for a teamwork feat too, unless it isn't needed. I was just looking at possible level dips. I really hit my stride at level 17 and was wondering if dips in other classes were cool. One dip in Inquisitor for that would be worth it if we needed a diplomacy guru.

I will take a look at them again. And the teamwork feats.

Male Pale Master

Ok Im just about finished. Anyone else? Im getting curious to see the final party makeup.

I have it on paper. I was going to convert it digitially today, but between Paizo's site issues with my AT&T issues + Busy at work I havent had a chance to digitize it yet. Tomorrow should be slower and I shoudl be able to do it then.

GM, What you you feel about implanted Ioun stones? It requires a lengthy process, but it should be doable. Do you want to incur any cost to doing so?

Lol. Finding stuff to purchase has never been an issue for me. If you have extra gold feel free to buy the cleric supplies with which to ressurect/restoration/heal you. :-)

That's fine if you want to. I can assume there is no cost except time and you have done it before play. Just note where the stones are on your body and if they are partly visible.

Male Human Cleric 3 - Unholy Barrister

here's Stiehl9s character for review/approval. Might still make some slight tweaks.

yep with you. still gotta work out a paired background as well.

and I just realized that I need a big overhaul on gear. Somehow I thought we had 830 g's so I gotta drop 300 large real quick. oops!

Edit: for Tiny Coffee Golem

M Human (Taldan) 1 Zen Archer

Oterisk's Zen Archer--- work in progress.

Male Human Cleric 3 - Unholy Barrister

Gear adjusted. Still need to fine tune the profile and do background.

@ DM_Arbiter do you have a specific story to bring all of us together or are we going to go with us having already adventured together?

I'll leave the story of how you all met up to you. From there, I'll decide how this all starts for the group.
