Male Human Inquisitor 9 (Guardian 2)

"I'm sure this thing has a body within a mile or so."

Chancre wrinkles his nose. "Probably smell it when we get close. If there aren't too many other ghouls, ghasts, wights, weebles, tuna fish, or spectral capers around."

Ghoulish Ambush - Round 2

"Okay, then. If we're going to waltz, stop stepping on my feet." Chancre takes out Steve, looks at the incorporeal berbalang, and says, "ٹیگ. تم وہ ہو." However, Steve's force rapier just misses the wispy undead.

Abyssal:
"Tag. You're it."

Míril decides that the time for sniping has passed, so she drops her bow in favor of her short sword. Dancing around the ghoul so as to flank it with Konstantin, she slices at the ghoul's undefended side. her sword cuts deeply, easily bypassing the creature's armor, cutting through the torso and leaving the ghoul in two pieces - utterly destroyed.

Roshan motions towards Samirah to take his place and flank with Chancre, then steps towards the oncoming solid undead releasing several blades, the second of which would have released a gout of arterial spray, had there been any blood flowing through it's unliving veins. A swift pivot low on the ball of his right foot, left sweeping out behind in counter-balance and Radiance again arcs towards the insubstantial berbala-whatsamacalit leaving shards of whispy darkling shadow trailing behind as it passes through its center mass.

The undead creature lashes out at Chancre unerringly, almost seeming to remove something from the jovial odd man. (Chancre takes another 2 points of Constitution damage - but just managed to not be criticalled by the berbalang.)

Samirah growls in frustration and moves to attack the Ghoul Leader, until she realizes Miril destroyed it. Instead, she flanks the berbalang with Chancre. Her scimitar cuts a deep wound in the spirit creature even if it draws no blood.

Konstantin:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Konstantin takes a step back, his forearm wreathed in frost. He hurls a hard-packed ball of ice at the incorporeal leader. The ball looks to be going wide, until Samirah shouts a word and the universe bends just a bit and instead the ice slams into the berbalang - dissipating it from the world.

Male Human Sorcerer 5/Dragon Disciple 4 (Archmage 2)

"Thank you, искра," Konstantin murmurs to Samirah, punctuating it with a quick squeeze of her shoulder.

Then, to Chancre, "Do you think we could find this lair?" Then, a pause, confusion wrinkling his face. "And also, what is a weeble?"

Female Half-Elf Sanctified Rogue 9 (Trickster 2)

Míril sheaths her swords and retrieves her bow.

"So, this berbalang thing will be back?" she asks. "Do we want to try and find its physical body now or wait till daylight?"

Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

"Let's find it now." Samirah says, brushing her fingers along Konstantin's hand before turning to Miril. "Waiting until daylight could mean it conjures up more mischief in the meantime." Then she glances back at Chancre. "It should be easy to find if we are tracking by scent."

She pauses, looking thoughtful. "And perhaps instead of 'weeble', what Chancre meant to pronounce was 'Rimu', and since he does not speak Ignan, did not pronounce it correctly. A Rimu is a large, horned oxen, and they smell horribly."

As usual, she sounds very sure of herself.

Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

As though the tangential conversation jostled a memory loose, Samirah looks excited. "The cemetery! Anevia mentioned ghouls there, and strange shadows. This would be a natural place for a monster to hide a body while its soul took a walk elsewhere. Though we may be in for a very large fight when we get there."

Female Half-Elf Sanctified Rogue 9 (Trickster 2)

"Well, before we head off to seek danger, we should take stock of ourselves. Chancre, how are you? It looked like that berbalang-thing connected a couple of times."

Male Human Sorcerer 5/Dragon Disciple 4 (Archmage 2)
Samirah Basri wrote:

"Oh," Konstantin says, nodding in apparent understanding.

Male Human Inquisitor 9 (Guardian 2)

"I would rather find it now," Chancre says, pausing to cast Lesser Restoration on himself. 1d4 ⇒ 1

...and then casting it again 1d4 ⇒ 4

"A weeble is a special type of vampire. It hops rather than walking. If pushed over, it springs back upright. People who live in weeble territory build their houses with low lintels so that the weeble cannot enter. They are vulnerable to holy scrolls stuck to their foreheads, and ..." Chancre wrinkles his own forehead as he thinks.

"Some of them can be stopped with a bowl of rice grains. They have a counting compulsion. They're not very smart, and they don't smell very good. There's probably a different name for weebles, but this is the one I know them by."

Male Human Sorcerer 5/Dragon Disciple 4 (Archmage 2)

Konstantin shakes his head. "Southerners," he says with a trace of wonder.

Once the first aid has been applied and discussions of hopping vampires has been concluded, the group is able to pick their way west towards the vast cemetery. As you go along, the city buildings vibrate as a deep roar rocks across the city from the north.

You get to a gully of the Ahari which blocks off the south bank from the land of the undead, which is spanned by an old wooden bridge. Although the bridge is clear of the undead, on the far side, a few hundred feet away you can make out forms moving in the weak moonlight.

Female Ifrit Swashbuckler 9 (Marshal 2)

Samirah makes a face at Chancre's response. "This cannot be a real thing."

When they make it to the bridge, she makes sure she's got nothing jangly on her arms that would make noise, and creeps across the bridge to get a closer look at the probably-ghouls.

Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Female Half-Elf Sanctified Rogue 9 (Trickster 2)

Quiet as a shadow, Míril shadows Samirah out to scout the undead.

Taking 10 on Stealth for 25.

Samirah and Miril make their stealthy way across the old wooden bridge, which seems to do fine under their slight weights although it shifts alarmingly with the gusts of wind coming down the gully.

Perception DC 15 (Miril/Samirah):
Looking from this closer angle, there doesn't seem to be that many ghouls in the graveyard - at least nothing comparable to the hundreds that Anevia reported while scouting. There is, however, a crypt on the southern side of the graveyard that all of the walking undead seem to be giving healthy berth to.

Perception DC 18 (anyone but Miril/Samirah):

"That seems like a good place to visit once we clean out the infestation."

She seems perfectly content to move ahead and start the fight, and does in fact move a few inches forward on the bridge.

Samirah and Miril:
Actually already have you past the bridge, on the far side of the gorge from the rest of the group.

The Three-Headed Beast - Surprise

From the west, the sound growing in volume as the creature roaring speeds over the broken roofs of the city, is the deep penetrating demand for attention that announces the beast of Drezen is hunting.

Chancre, quick to act as always, casts a protective spell and places himself as guard between Kon and the chimera.

The three-headed creature beats its wings in a fast peace, cutting the distance to the bridge in half, about thirty feet above the ground.

A glance back behind his left shoulder, then a sudden quick spin and the golden glowing blur of Radiance arcs up into the midnight darkness of the night marking it's path like a tracer round, hitting even at the extreme distance. A surprised and angry shriek soon follows, piercing the inky blackness.

Ice forms in Konstantin's hands, waiting for the creature to move within range of the hard-packed spell.

The chimera zips forward, it's mouth opening...

Konstantin:
Spend a mythic surge 1d6 ⇒ 5 and hits!
And Konstantin then hurls a snowball at the dark form. Even as the creature lets loose of its cold breath thick with chunks of razor-sharp ice, its wings seem to seize up, dropping it down 10-feet.

K:arcana DC 19:
The creature is a chimera with a white dragon's head, a goat's head, and a leopard's head. It also seems to have a demonic taint to it. It also is far faster and stronger than any known chimera, seeming to draw further power from the purple energy that crackles over the body occasionally.

Although the creature has white dragon blood and breathes ice, it gains its resistance from its demonic taint - making it only resistant to cold and fire but immune to electricity.

Her goal is to try and work with another team member to get herself up to the chimera so she doesn't have to wait around for it to land. If she can't achieve that within a round or two, she will let the others handle it and move back towards the ghouls.

Samirah curses in Ignan. "Would someone be so kind as to give me a hand?"

Konstantin/Miril/GM:
If there's any way to get her up to the chimera, be it a magic spell or a grappling hook and rope launched up at it, I'd be much obliged. If that doesn't work out or is a waste of your round, she's going to move ahead to fight ghouls instead of waiting, depending on how long it takes to bring the thing down.

The Beast of Drezen - Round 1

Chancre gestures with Steve. Steve's force rapier appears in mid-air, skewering the chimera. "Are chimeras intelligent or mere beasts?"

"Can we talk, or are we limited to death?" he calls out in a loud voice. One of the creature's heads turns in Chancre's direction, tracking the talking-one, but verbally the only response is the bleat of the goat head - so much quiter than the dragon's roar.

Clumsy from the cold, the creature wings about in the air, landing with a loud thud on the edge of the bridge. But is stymied by the ice and can not attack.

Miril:
In order to get you in range for the surprise stike, I did a double move.
Seeing the chimera distracted by Kon's ice, Míril runs forward, drawing a bead on the Beast of Drezen's underbelly. She shoots an arrows into it.

Samirah:
Full round action - run. x4 movement.
Seeing her chance while the beast is on the ground, Samirah sprints nimbly over the bridge, jumping over broken planks that drop into the dark gorge to flank the monster with Chancre.

Roshan unleashes a handful of metal shards as covering fire as he sprints forward, not quite managing to get up to the hovering monstrosity. Red lines mar the great creatures coat as two of the deadly cold iron weapons manage to draw blood.

Konstantin looks the chimera over. "Resistant to cold and fire, but immune to lightning. Не хватает устойчивы, я думаю."

Hallit:
"Not resistant enough, I think."

His hand and forearm once again frost over, and he hurls another snowball at the monster. But in the crush of combants right in front of him, the magic goes wild.

A momentary pause and much of the cold-caused wounds heal.

Not put off by Konstantin's step back to use his magic the chimeric dragon steps forward, around Chancre, only the white dragon's head snapping at the silver-scaled man. (1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 242d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 5) + 5 = 13) The teeth sink in, but the falling shards of encompassing ice keep the creature from attacking further.

The Beast of Drezen - Round 2

Chancre triggers Steve a second time, and now there are two force rapiers attacking the Chimera. However both rapiers just bounce off the creature's heavy armored hide.

The chimera blows a huff of freezing fog in Samirah's direction before whirling back towards Konstantin. Teeth, horn and claws - all aimed at removing the sorcerer from the world - all hitting. The bites sinking in and holding pulling flesh in opposite directions. (Konstantin takes 49 points of damage. This will put him at -11 hit points and stable.)

As Konstantin falls, the chimera whirls onto Chancre, jaws dripping with blood.

And behind him, ice coats over Konstantin's body, his wounds healing (2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8), but not enough for the eyes to open.

Samiarh:
2nd attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 121d6 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

Samirah, now comfortably in her element, lunges forward with her red-hot scimitar to attack the creature. Her blade cuts into the chimera - the steel hurting where the fire doesn't.

Roshan's blades slice into the base of the draconic throat, burying themselves in a tight pattern and a small fountain of gore.

Now completely focused on Chancre, the chimera snaps and claws at the healer. Although Chancre's armor abosorbs the blow of the horns and one claw, he is still battered and bloody by the attack. However, the massive rending of the two fanged jaws that took Konstantin down does not happen to the stalwart inquisitor ... this time. (Chancre takes 33 hit points.)

After watching Konstantin fall to the chimera, all of Samirah's fire is in her eyes and the smile on her face is a lot like the one a predator might wear before catching its prey.

"তিনি ইচ্ছা করলে তোমাদের নিজেকে হত্যা করতে পারে না হতাশ হতে হবে."

Ignan:

"He will be disappointed he could not kill you himself."

Rally second attack

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Determined to convey her deep displeasure with the chimera's choices, Samirah climbs onto the beast and attempts to remove at least one of the heads from its body before jumping back to the ground near Chancre. To everyone's eyes, her second swing merely bounces off the thick hide of the beast, but her image flickers, distorts, as though she's gone back in time for just a moment to swing a third time before she jumps.

Bane - Magical Beasts as a Swift Action

As promised, three rapiers ... but two are Steve rapiers, and is Chancre's

Chancre draws his corkscrapier and attacks the chimera directly. "Meow!" he says to the leopard head. "Baaa!" to the goat. Random syllables from Samirah's comment to the dragon: "শীতকালীন!"

Round 3:

For this attack, Míril shall use her 4th expenditure of Mythic Power for Surprise Strike (via bow and arrow). Hopefully she's still close enough that she doesn't have to double move again.

Seeing the chimera take down Konstantin, Míril grimly draws another bead on the Beast's underbelly. She shoots two arrows into it.

First attack using Surprise Strike. Second attack is a normal attack.
