You do seem to like Andoran don't you? :p Well it looks okay to me. There was a reference in there to Favoured Class (Bard) you must have missed.

I'd probably also change the second-last paragraph slightly, you state Lord Tharkin had heard that the Osirion Pathfinder Lodge was planning an expedition, they're kind of always planning an expedition :p More likely he would have just sent him to the lodge in Absalom, perhaps he had a contact there through his trading partners, and asked to send the ratfolk somewhere where he wasn't likely to return from, at least not for quite a while.

You also seem to have spent a bit too much cash. +1 keen, a belt and a headband would come to 16000gp by themselves, even ignoring the cost of the masterwork scimitar, plus whatever elven chain costs. You'll probably have to give up the keen property for now, he can be saving his pennies up with whatever his master gave him.

Seneb, you've got about a day and a half before I'll have to replace you too if you don't post.

Hi Last entry for your consideration.

A level 6 Ifrit Druid (Desert Druid Archetype) with a Desert Ape as companion. Racial ability to turn large Ape into Huge Ape!!

Efreeti Magic Some ifrits inherit an efreeti ancestor's ability to magically change a creature's size. They can cast either enlarge person or reduce person (the ifrit chooses when using this ability) once per day as a spell-like ability (caster level equals the ifrit's level). The ifrit can use this ability to affect other ifrits as though they were humanoid creatures. This racial trait replaces the spell-like ability racial trait.

Hope it can be done?

Background story: Just a summary if u guys like it then i will expand.

A druid that is a Guardian of the Desert in Orion. After the appearance of the pyramids, the ecology of the desert has changed. Something perverse has invaded, animals that died returned to a undead form. Plants start dying, oasis water turn poisonous. As a Guardian of the desert, she seeks to uncover the root of this corruption by joining up with the expedition.

So out of these 3:

Thordan= Ratfolk Cleric
Lorasaadi= Monk
Lanialiar= Druid.

i think out of these 3 thematically Lanialiar would fit in most nicely and I am fine to play her. Sounds fun. Like Captain Planet lol.

Yeah Lanialar does have the most reason to be participating it seems, though I'd probably want to discuss with you to figure out what it is that has made him so concerned.

Again you've spent too much cash, this time a +3 weapon, which is 18,000gp all by itself, and you only have 16,000 to spend :p

Was there a specific creature a Desert Ape? Or is this just the Ape animal companion?

Yeah do discuss with me on the best storyline.

Motivation as Mistress of the Desert She would want to restore the eco balance of the desert...maybe there is some more deeper reason since she is an Ifrit and the powers within the Pyramids do seem tempting...

Don't think an Ape would do too well in a desert... there's also the fact that getting a large (or indeed huge) animal companion into a pyramid or other structure might prove difficult...

If you do want to go with the large/huge animal companion there are other options... a Megalania (Megafauna Lizard), Arsinoitherium (Megafauna Rhino), a normal rhino, an Elephant, a constrictor snake... Ooh, there's options for a giant scorpion in Ultimate Magic. Some of the dinosaurs could probably work alright too.

Male Human Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 6

I only took a look at the statistics. That's because Algharud doesn't know the background too.

I like the Ratfolk Cleric most. I don't like the desert druid because we already have a wilderness guy (me!) :-).

The fire domain of the rat also seems a pretty decent help for our party because at the moment, we lack a full arcane caster and the fire domain makes up for this a bit.

Thumbs up for the Rat!

LOLI Either that I can skip animal companion and pick fire domain too as one of the Druid nature bond skill.

It works on Humanoid creatures as in creatures with the humanoid type, eg Humanoid (Human), Humanoid (Giant), Humanoid (Elf), etc, and Ape is an Animal. The way you might be able to use it by use of the uhh, share spells ability, in which case the type of your animal companion is irrelevant.

The fire domain might be a bit more practical for this capaign. On the other hand a giant scorpion would be pretty awesome :D

I'll check in to the game thread here shortly.

The Druid is an interesting idea.

The ratfolk Cleric appears to be built as a front-line combatant. Weird for both the race and the standard role of the class.

As for my preference? I stated my lack of direct preference a few days ago. Our Venture Captain best knows what we NEED. If he is satisfied that said hole is being filled, then the next concern is about everybody being able to have fun.

And that's as far as I care to go in telling somebody else what to play.

Hi updated my background. may not be perfect as I did it on my phone thus need to edit again. tell me can it work?

background:

Lanialiar was born out of a wedlock between 2 beings of a different plane. It is unknown how her mother met the effret but legends have said that the mother was a powerful witch that summon the being. She consummated the union and dismissed the effret and she labored for the pregnancy. When the child is born, she whispered the child's name into her ears before leaving her to a raging sand storm tempest that consumed the child leaving nothing in its wake.In the Osirion desert, the Old Magic still runs strong underneath. Lanialiar grew up in the desert on her own, her heartbeat resonating in sync witht he pulse of the Old Magic. It seems the desert speaks to her and meets her every need. Oasis forms at will whenever she is tired and needs a rest. The sand withdrawing into a whirlpool and fresh water gushed out to form a lake. Palm trees shot out from the ground and grow to a full grown tree in a matter of minutes instead of years. Lanialiar would then rest under the shades and converse with The Mother.

Lanialiar also soon grow in power both with her surroundings and herself. The horns starting growing full and thick as she learnt to encase herself in flames. She found that the flames burn according to her emotions from the smothering ember heat to a blazing fire tempest. She discovered she can speak the creatures and plants of the desert, they form her eyes and ears as the wind whispers to her all those things around her. More often than not, the wind whispers of the activities of men and she has grown to be aware of them. Every kind deed, trade routes, illegal activities, murder and death that is committed on the desert, Lanialiar hears of it. Sometimes she steps in to help a lone stranger or two in peril of robbery and death, usually in the night where men's sin is greatest. Under the pale moonlight, they see the feline form of a burning female with 2 large ram like horns. They call her the Mistress of the Desert Moon.

It is not known what has changed but when the earthquake happened, something about the Old Magic changed. While it was pure, robust, vibrant energy coursing through the entire desert, it started changing to a more tainted form. Creatures of the same kind started turning onto each other with intense primal rage. Some of these creatures that died came back to life but the pulse has stopped resonating in these creatures. Although they do not last for more than a few hours before shambling back to a corpse, it was destroying and upsetting the balance in the desert. Lanialiar also noticed the tainted pulse have started to seep into her being and it seems The Mother has started changing in her demeanor too. While the winds sigh and cry when deaths took place upon the desert sands, it now glees and crackles subtlety behind those sighs. Subtle but Lanialiar heard it.Determined and afraid, she wonders what is the reason for her biological mother to consummated with an effret and gave her away to the Old Magic of the desert. Though vague, she learnt of her whispered name through a flashback dream when she was 6. Trying to recall back the same dream 18 years ago, her sub conscious sang her a song...

open thy tomb
everlasting womb
jagged scarlet wound
bleed for me eternal...

When she repeats those words, the pulse of the Old Magic stopped abruptly. For the first time in Lanialiar's life, she experienced complete silence. In a heartbeat, the pulse resumed but this time at a increased rate. Lanialiar felt her own heart pulpatating faster and faster and soon it was in sync like a band symphony. She felt power flowed into her being as senses heightened. She can feel every grain of sand beneath her feet and if given eternity she would be able to number them individually. However beneath all, she still sense the lingering presence of the taint. In fact it seems to be growing faster along with the increased pulse rate. She recalled a certain individual by the name of Venture Captain Norden Balentii of the Pathfinder Society whispered to her by the wind, who walked upon the sands due east of her. Summoning her companion Selket, a large midnight black scorpion crawled out of the sand beneath her. She turned east and started walking to the man who she hope has the answers.

HI,

I updated the age.

Also I decided to go for Fire Domain for a little more offensive magic and using my other spells for healing. Reason because our group Magus have dropped. Partially also since we are in enclosed places, a pet might be tricky.

Thought it's ok since I have not made any mention yet of Selket in the gameplay thread.

Yeah that should be fine, and if you're concerned about the size you could get a giant scarab beetle. They'd only be Medium at most I believe :D

I'm looking for a replacement arcane type though so we'll see what ends up happening.

Cool, I guess, the fire domain combines extremly well with Algharud, because superstitious and increasing fire resistance help alleviate friendly fire.

Also, with Knockback rage power and wall of fire (later on), "Deathpinball" becomes possible...

Hi just checking how much would a darkleaf light armor +1 cost?

what is its armor bonus spell failure and dex bonus. was thinking of changing my leaf armor to reduce the spell failure component.

Uhhh, Spell Failure chance is actually only Arcane Spell Failure chance, divine spell casters such as yourself don't have to worry about such things :)

+1 Studded Darkleaf Armor (Studded Armor made of Darkleaf) would be 775gp, AC +3, Max Dex +7, Armor Check Penalty 0, and Arcane Spell Failure Chance 5% (which only affects Arcane casters, not Divine) and would weigh only 10 lbs.

Oh ok because I read if spells have somatic components there maybe a chance to have spell failure. So even if I wear medium armor I can cast with no penalty?

Yup! It's only Sorcerers and Wizard types that have to worry about armor :) Why do you think Clerics and stuff normally run around in chainmail? Of course Druids have the no metal armor thing, but you can still wear medium, that's why Druid are proficient in it :p

one more question....is a dark leaf Do-maru medium armor possible?

Male Human (Keleshite) Paladin (Sacred Shield/Warrior of the Holy Light) 4 | AC28 T11 F20 (27 w/ Shield) CMD17 | HP40/40 | F+10 R+6 W+8 | Init+1 | Per+0

Do-Maru consists primarily of Lamellar armor. Lamellar Leather is JUST less protective than Do-Maru while offering less Dexterity adjustment to be applied but more freedom of movement as noted by the Armor Check Penalty. That seems weird. Lamellar Horn is AS protective as Do-Maru, while having an identical Dex limit and AC penalty.

Since Do-Maru is PRIMARILY of Lamellar, I think it is safe to assume that if it was meant to be of Lamellar Horn, there would be differences other than price . . .. Based on that, I would expect that Do_maru is composed of Lamellar Leather as a primary component. If I'm right, then Darkleaf Do-Maru would be reasonable.

Now, in the Jade Regent game I'm partcipating in, the custom gear my judge provided me was a set of Mithral Do-Maru. Which assumes that the primary component of Do-Maru is metal, not leather.

In any case, the price modified for Darkleaf Armor is +750 GP for light armor and +1500 for Medium Armor. I found that by searching the PRD for darkleaf, BTW. I'm guessing he just forgot to add the additional 1,000gp for the magical enhancement on the darkleaf studded leather.

Horn Lamellar (or Darkleaf Hide) will serve your needs as medium armor if our Venture Captain decides that Do-Maru is not primarily leather.

Based on what he suggested previously (about bringing you in, actually), I imagine he's looking for the replacement player by directly sending messages to the previous applicants based on how well he liked what they submitted. But I'm guessing.

5th player. I've asked someone and he's interested, just waiting for him to make up a character.

Yeah my bad, 1775. Forgot about the enhancement bonus :p

Uhh, mechanically there's nothing wrong with it, but considering your character's history I'm not sure why she'd be wearing armor made on the other side of the world :p I dislike allowing too much of the Tian Xia equipment when it doesn't really make sense for the campaign.

Also, you can edit your posts within an hour after posting, rather than triple posting :p

EDIT: wow, well I really haven't looked into the whole Domaru/Llamelar thing, so I'm not sure. I'd prefer if Lanialiar just avoided the issue and went for somethign more appropriate for the setting :p

As far as the replacement, none of the other characters from the recruitment thread really grabbed me that much, except for Falstaff, but looking over his previous characters it seems he's not a fan of tactical/map based combat, which I will be using. Instead I have contact someone from another PbP I am a member of, just waiting for him to get back to me with a character :)

Well it'll be a while before we get into anything where we actually need stats hopefully, so if you get a chance then feel free to post. So everyone's clear I am intending to simply swap Seneb out for Zanos. Zanos was the one Mariui has worked with before, and Zanos was the one who the Venture Captain introduced as providing arcane assistance to the group. I'm hoping in that way we can get things moving more swiftly than having another late arrival.

So Zanos when you're ready if you want to just write up a starting post summarizing Zanos' actions during the meeting so far and introduce yourself to Lanialiar and we can continue from there. It can wait until after work if needed :)

If anyone has any problems with that please let me know.

Alright, I've been putting Lanialiar and Zanos through Hero Labs.

Zanos: Even with Expanded Arcana and the Human Sorcerer favoured class thing you still seem to have 3 too many 1st level spells known. You should have another 2 languages to select (another 3 if he's been raised in Osirion).

Ugh, why'd you have to buy/make a spellbook :p Those are a pain to price... You don't seem to have accounted for where he obtained the spells from (unless his mother was a wizard?)

Lanialar: You can only prepare 4 zero levels spells per day, not 14 :p In your fire domain slots you should have Burning Hands (1st level), Produce Flame (2nd level), and fireball (3rd level), not Wall of Fire (4th level), or Elemental Body IV (Fire, 7th level).

You've applied the Light Fortification to your armor, but in order to apply any special qualities like that the armor first has to be +1, so most likely you'll just have to stick with a +1 Kilted Darkleaf Hide Shirt unless you want to shuffle your equipment around to free up the extra 3000gp.

Finally skills... not sure how you're getting a +16 Handle Animal, you do know you can only have a maximum number of skill ranks in any skill equal to your hit-dice right? Because from what I can tell you seem to have but 13 ranks into it. Should probably put those extra 7 ranks elsewhere. Given your character history I'd suggest splitting them between a knowledge skill of some kind (nature or perhaps planes), and survival. I'm also not too sure why she has ranks in Swim considering she lives in a desert :p

You also seem to be Medium Encumbered, which means you've got an Armor Check Penalty and are only moving a 20 feet. If you sell your grappling hook (which you don't seem to have a rope to use it with anyway) and upgrade your backpack to a masterwork backpack then you should just be able to scrape in at light encumbrance. I don't normally track encumbrance too closely but at game start should make sure. This would leave you with 720gp at game start.

Male Human Sage Wildblooded Sorcerer 6; AC 13, flat-footed 11, touch 13; HP 38/38; Init +2; Fort +6, Ref +6, Will +9; Perception +12

Hmm...

Sorcerer 6:
0 lvl) 7 base + 3 from favored class bonus (1-3rd lvl) = 10
1st lvl) 4 base + 2 from Expanded Arcana + 2 from fav. class bonus (4-5th lvl) + identify from Arcane/Sage Bloodline = 9
2nd lvl) 2 base + 1 fav. class bonus (6th lvl) + invisibility from Arcane/Sage Bloodline = 4
3rd lvl) 1 base = 1

I bought the spellbook for use with the mnemonic vestment I added that he got it from a wizard that works at the Sothis Lodge.

Info:

After Zanos acquired his mnemonic vestment during one of his ventures, he commissioned his own "spellbook" from a fellow Pathfinder named Oublian who happened to be a wizard. Oublian, who works at the Sothis Lodge, has occasionally added new spells to Zanos' spellbook.

Price: 10gp (traveling spellbook) + 10gp x 9 1st lvl spells (90gp) + 40gp x 6 2nd lvl spells (240gp) + 90gp x 3 3rd lvl spells (270gp) = 610 gp total for the spellbook (pricing is in the CRB).

Good catch on the Languages (I forgot about the 2 from Cosmopolitan)! I added Celestial and Terran.

Sorry to throw you for a loop!

If you feel I should change anything, let me know. For instance, if you really dislike the spellbook I can just pick up a few scrolls. I prefer the spellbook, but I understand if I'm being a pain.

Hopefully you don't regret inviting me!

Wow, okay yeah my bad, I wasn't paying attention and added the bloodline spells a second time :p The spells work out okay now.

As far as the spellbook you've paid for the cost of scribing the spells into the book, but it also says you often have to pay whoever you're copying them from, I'll just handwave it for now, didn't see the bit about Zanos for some reason.

Nah, not regretting anything :)

Cool!

However, if you don't want to handwave it, you can have me spend Prestige Points (I'm not too clear about PP, but it looks like 1 PP covers a 150gp item, while 2 PP covers a 750gp item -- I'm fine w/ either amount).

That could easily be used to represent having a friend in the Lodge spend the time to write all the spells into a spellbook (after all, as a sorcerer Zanos can't 'copy' them -- he actually had to have a wizard do that).

Oh, and that little bit of flavor is actually under the 'Traveling Spellbook' spoiler (it seemed more appropriate there).

:)

Prestige Points is not a bad idea, I know I want to use them but I still ahven't gotten around to/remembered to reread the stuff of factions yet :p

You spent one too many skill points still :p I have corrected a couple of the totals there too (changes in bold)

argh dropping the rank in swim and am set now. Sorry to make you edit me so much, usually when I play I have a character sheet that does the totals for me, apparently I should always use that!

Thanks again. Really excited

heh, no problem Rameth. I use Hero Labs which does all the work for me, I just have to reverse engineer your choices, not that difficult :)

Thank you all for your patience, apologies about the delay. I've gotta say it was a hard decision, but I have finally chosen the two who will be joining, and they are Fairsplindle Shiningstar, and Rameth the Delver. Was an especially close call for Rameth, almost had two gnomes joining the party ;)

If we have any problems again I'll be sure to keep your names :)

Just a couple things I noticed for the two who made it:

Fairsplindle, according to Hero Lab you should only have 45 hitpoints. If you put your favoured class bonus into hit points then it could be as high as 51, but neither the 56, nor 62 you have listed on your alias, you also need to update the saves in the Class/Level bit, as they are all one too high. I'm also not too sure how you got the skill bonuses listed either. If you could tell me what you spent your favoured class bonus on, and what ranks you have in each skill that would be appreciated, thanks :) You should have approximately 480gp left over (I'm assuming the CLW, CMW, and CSW were scrolls, or are they meant to be potions?) Also what's a quickrunner shirt and where is that from?

Rameth, you seem to have one too many zero level spells known, and have overspent skills by about... 13 points (assuming all favoured class bonuses placed in skills); so if you could also list where you have put your skill ranks for me please. You also seem to have too much cash left over, I see ~252gp left.

Thanks for the selection. I am looking forward to your game. The game I created this character for we rolled hit points, so let me fix that. I thought I had. I redid the herolab, but then edited the profile instead of pasting in the new data, so may have not changed that. I would be happy to send you my .POR file for the character if you want.

The quickrunner shirt is out of the Equipment guide. It allows an extra move action once a day. Handy for someone with heavy armor and short legs, but if you do not want it in the game I would understand and will re-spend the gold. Ill post again as soon as I review and update the character.

OK. Repasted the data from the Herolab file, which I hope fixed everything. 48 hit points. Removed benefits of a previous +2 cloak, downgrading to a +1,which lowered all saves by 1. And to answer you specific question - 3 favored class hit points, 3 skill points.

I am ready to join in. :)

Have fun, guys. Don't get killed, cause Garion is waiting in the wings. :)
