Dungeon Master S |
So many moving parts, forgive my lack of prose.
Paeter does as he does, dashing to the thick of things.
Black Musher: Dashes forward with a javelin and hurls it at Pandoor! ATK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 for DMG: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Red Musher: Stays back a bit, but hurls a javelin at Paeter: ATK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 and misses by a mile
Green Musher: He joins the other to target the brave halfling too ATK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, and is no better
Blue Musher: Takes a long throw at Syrak ATK: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 - 2 = 18 and connects! for DMG: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Yellow: Also going after Paeter, the first of a pair of Aspis agents tries to trip Paeter up with bolas. Trip!: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 - 2 = 14 but misses
White: Joins her partner with the same Trip!: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 2 = 25and trips him!
Purple: Double Move
Grey: The last agent holds aloft a holy symbol and a scythe of pure force appears near Syrak Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14, but Syrak's faith is greater.

Pandoor Flaxseed |
Hahaha ^^
Dungeon Master S |
Well played! Paeter's words bring mirth to the battle field, but also potential death, as all of the foes are at least partly human.
Black Musher: Looks to disrupt Falco's spell Javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9, but misses by a mile.
Red Musher: Continues to keep Paeter at distance. Javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 but rushes the throw

I thought I had deleted all the references. I edited the post, and must have missed it.
Syrak's slash takes the woman's head in a single, powerful, swipe. The others all look at each other as she drops. On the Dragon there is no place to retreat to. This ends in victory or death.

Falco is most concerned for his own life primarily so he summons a wolverine behind one of the nearest baddies (black).
claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

He then sends a set of missiles at the one going for Pandoor (purple):
force: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) + 3 = 11
Dungeon Master S |
Whatever the man expected, it wasn't an animal who just don't care. It mauls the man in seconds, leaving a screaming man who quickly dies. The missiles seriously injure the rogue sneaking around.
All in all, Falco 1.5 - Aspis 0.

Dungeon Master S |
Pandoor escapes the net, but doing so opens him up for a shot from the very injured half-elf looming over him: ATK: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11, but the wounds and cold are too much.

damage: 1d3 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 + 2 + 4 = 12
Dungeon Master S |
Paeter's trident is off but the shield is right on target with a massive smash. The breaking bones are loud even over the mountain wind. With a grunt, the ranger falls dead.
Red Musher: Trying to bring down Syrak, two mushers throw the last of their javelins at the paladin. ATK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Green Musher: Seeing his teammate miss he does his best. ATK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 and does even worse.
White Ranger: Closes with Paeter, with twin short sowrds: Left: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 and Left: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 but hits absolutely nothing.
Purple: Keeps the pressure on Pandoor, but then edges towards Falco. Rapier: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 and doesn't fare any better

damage: 1d10 + 7 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 6 + 2 = 18

Syrak: Kill
Falco: Go Wolverine done
Green Musher: 7
White Ranger: 7

Falco Flaxseed |
Falco keeps his distance from the Aspis agent and sends another set of missiles at the man. Purple near Pandoor.
force: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2, 2) + 3 = 11
Pandoor Flaxseed |
I was just waiting to see if Falco kills purple.
Dungeon Master S |
Indeed! Falco's missiles finish the job. Unfortunately it looks like the mushers would prefer death to surrender..
Round 3:
Paeter: Kill
Aspis: ATK
Pandoor: Go
Syrak: Kill
Falco: Kill
Green Musher: 7
White Ranger: 7
Pandoor Flaxseed |
Keeping his inspiring words up, the bard tries to enchant the aspis agent attacking Paeter.
"BoooH!" he shouts.
Casting "Hold Person" on white, will DC 19
Dungeon Master S |
Pandoor weaves a spell Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
When the musher freezes in place the fight is all but over. In a matter of seconds the quartet of heroes (and one very angry wolverine) whip up the field of enemies.
A search of the Aspis turns up little in the way of immediately usable gear, aside from a pair of boots that radiate magic. Otherwise the only magical items are the cleric's armor, and the ranger's bolas. The agents badges and coin purses are taken as restitution for damage done.
The sounds of the arctic beast men begin to creep back into hearing... They haven't forgotten. They seem to be headed parallel to you. At first you're thankful for the respite, until you realize that they're probably not headed to you, they're headed to the CAMP!!!!!

You estimate that it's about a 30 minute ride to camp! Take your actions. Once everyone checks in I'll advance.
Syrak Divinion |
Syrak heals himself with a wand.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"We better get going, toss anything valuable in the back, we'll sort it out later."
Falco Flaxseed |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
"Ah, how nice!" Falco says as he feels the fur inside the boots of one of the Aspis agents, pulling them off and putting them on his own bare feet.
Hearing the snow men, he leaps back onto the sled. "Right, let's get going!"
Dungeon Master S |
Drums and smoke signals swiftly spread the beastmen’s voices through the lower peaks. The violation of the holy lands, slaying of their brethren, and butchery of their most sacred creature has roused them to war, including the small waystation at Cania’s Drop. You make it back just in time to see that the tribes of the lower hills have already laid siege to the waystation!
As you approach the camp, you can see plumes of smoke. The shock is that it's coming from all over. Gouts of thick black smoke smearing angrily across the pale sky and smell the scent of burning wood assail you. The waystation is under siege and its roof is burning! As your sled comes speeding into the area you see the waystation's brave men and women rush out. Their clothes aflame, they drop and roll in the snow only to meet with the vicious fangs and claws of waiting beastmen. You have only a short time to come to the aid of the besieged waystation before all perish to the enraged beastmen!
The fire has consumed a portion of the waystation and if it isn’t extinguished quickly, the flames spread out of control and the waystation burns to cinders and ash. Pathfinders what will you do?!
You pull into the area nearest the flames. You're surrounded by a handful of the beastmen, with one clearly strong than the others.
Falco: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 (always acts in surprise)
Pandoor: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Paeter: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Taer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Syrak: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Dungeon Master S |
Round 1:
Falco: Go
Pandoor: Go
Syrak: Go
Paeter: Go
Taer: TBD
Dungeon Master S |
Syrak prepares, while Paeter rushes in. The trident impales the beast, leaving a LOT of blood. This taer is larger and strong than the others, so it'll take more than that to drop him, a lot more.
Round 1:
Falco: Go
Pandoor: Go
Syrak: Embiggen
Paeter: Stab!
Taer: TBD
Pandoor Flaxseed |
Pandoor begins to do what he does best, shouting tactical advise.
"Remember guys how the society helped to defeat trolls and giants in a fight to help half-orc clans!" he yells.
Inspire Courage is up, folks! +2 hit/dmg, +2 moral bonus to saves vs charm and fear!
Dungeon Master S |
Falco's spell indeed dampens the flames, but by no means puts them out. Still, it buys the Pathfinders time. Pandoor's oration bolsters the group just in time as the beastmen take the fight to you!
The leader pummels the halfling with fists before biting at him!
Left fist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Right fist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
All teeth!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
There is only the sound of ringing metal as Paeter's armor protects him.
The one with the black stripe also closes with Paeter:
Fist: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 to equal effect.
The others opt for what they hope are easier targets. One charges Syrak! Fist: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 = 9, but sometimes even snowmen slip on the ice.
Falco and Pandoor each get their own personal foes too:
Yellow v Pandoor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 for DMG: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Red v. Falco: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Round 2:
Falco: Go
Pandoor: Go
Syrak: Go + AoO?
Paeter: Go
Taer: TBD
White: 10
Green: -2 AC for Round 2
Pandoor Flaxseed |
Still encouraging his friends, the little bard draws a crossbow, steps behind his paladinish friend and casts a spell to hinder one of the foes attacking Falco.
"βε στιλλ!" he shouts.
Casting Daze Monster on Red, will DC 19
Falco Flaxseed |
Falco curses under his breath as one of the snow men swings at him. He steps back and takes out his wand to blast them with fire.
Hitting yellow and red. DC 11 Ref for half.
burning hands: 3d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7
Dungeon Master S |
Nice phoenetic Greek :-)
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Pandoor's words scramble the taer's mind, it lasts only a few seconds, but a few seconds is all it takes.
Round 2:
Falco: Go
Pandoor: Daze
Syrak: Go + AoO?
Paeter: Go
Taer: TBD
White: 10
Green: -2 AC for Round 2
Red: Dazed, no action in round 2.
Syrak Divinion |
AoO: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Syrak takes an AoO at the approaching Taer before he finishes embiggening himself, giving Pandoor a bump out of the way.
Syrak then drops his glaive, pops claws and tears into the Taers with his bigger, better claws.
Claw: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 - 2 = 27
damage: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 + 4 + (1, 6) = 22

Dungeon Master S |
The glaive bifurcates the taer! Then he fights the way the taer themselves understand, practically slicing one's head off and dropping him dead in the snow! His "tear" ends with a miss but not before dropping a pair of them.
Paeter focuses on the toughest one, and while he scores a solid hit it looks like it'll take one or two more to triumph.
Round 2:
Falco: Go
Pandoor: Daze
Syrak: Kill
Paeter: Hit
Taer: TBD
White: 22
Red: Dazed, no action in round 2.

Falco sets off his wand one last time, dropping it to the ground now that it is a useless piece of wood.
fire: 3d4 ⇒ (1, 1, 2) = 4
DC 11 Ref for half; hits red.
Dungeon Master S |
The final charge isn't the most powerful fan it's ever released but the taer fear the fire nonetheless. REF: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 even if it dodges most of it.
Two taer gang up on Paeter, showing no mercy, nor sense of self preservation:
White Left fist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
White Right fist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
White Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Black Right fist: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Black Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
The master of fury and defense takes it all without a scratch.

self vicious: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
Let me know if the first attack hits so I don't need to take the second vicious damage

Paeter dodges the taer blows and continues his assault on the big one.

Pandoor Flaxseed |
Pandoor leaps forward to shield Falco and tries to daze one of the monster harassing his cousin!
"בי שתיל" he shouts, still inspiring courage to his companions.
Another Daze Monster but on Black Taer, will save DC 19
