Welcome Gamers!!

Use this thread to;
-Perform downtime activities between live sessions such as, retrain feats and skills, expand the business, create scrolls and potions, etc.

-Ask questions regarding the live sessions, lets try to keep all of the info in one convenient place for easy reference.

-Light, fun roleplaying between session's! Watch for NPC's to post! They will taunt, they will inspire, they will enlighten.

-I will post weekly clues, hints and facts in this thread about Chandar, its residents, its destinations, its history, etc.

Have fun!

This weeks hint may or may not be the title of the first act of the campaign!!!

The Drunken Ogres cannot stand little school yard sissy tattle tales.........your day is coming!

Rusk cannot stand bullies that beat up old men. Bring it on.

Surely this is no way to make friends Jamien. Russk, is it true that "Fitzie" folded like a cheap suit with one blow? Oh...wait; my apologies. I had forgotten that you weren't there. Tsk tsk.

A group of minstrels wander into the Jolly Well. They have no coin, but offer instead to trade trinkets and small wondrous items in exchange for some meals, drinks and warm beds. Anybody posting in this thread within the next 24 hours gets to role one random small wondrous item on the honor system. At 1 PM on September 15, 2014 this expires. See you soon!!

Welcome to the Jolly Well! Have a seat and enjoy the finest food in Chandar.

"Do any of you have any interest in becoming regular entertainment at the Jolly Well?"

"Don't concern yourself with the drooling wolverine at your feet he doesn't enjoy the taste of minstrel"

Me me me!

Elbrecht2112, please identify yourself. The rest of you can role up your small wondrous items. The minstrels cannot stay. They are passing thru, hoping to find passage in the harbor. They have heard East Island is lovely this time of year.

Could you send a link to the item list you are referring to. And Elbrecht2112 is Bob from 2 years ago.

Is it this list - http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm

In either the GM guide or the CRB there is a chart to role random minor wondrous items. If you can find a replica of said chart online, feel free to utilize it. Can't reference the link right now.....

Mike rolled a 98 and I rolled a 39. = periapt of health and a type 1 bag of holding. Just letting you know. I think this earns the minstrels a token for half off 1 grog at participating Jolly Wells(they'll have to share it)

^^^ Posts like this are why I get out of bed in the morning. That's funny stuff. Thanks for the laugh, but one question....why so generous with the grog? You gotta go all the way to Rivermead for more. Unless you can lock down local suppliers.....I wonder why Fitzpatrick never did??

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Stone's Throw is wedged between the northern peaks of the Erastil Mountains and the frigid waters of northern East Sea. It is believed to be the ruins of a great dwarven fortress that pre dates even the great partition. Rumors abound about the ruins. Rumors of great haunts, undead squatters, awful curses and portals to evil dimensions have left the area mostly unexplored.

Appropriate knowledge checks (local, geography, history) can be rolled to expand on this basic knowledge.

Targoth rolls a 28 for local knowledge. I've always kept my eye the local ins n outs.

(28) If you remember the stories properly, Stones Throw was legened to be somewhat of a technological wonder for its time. Also, you have no knowledge of any entrance to the ruins or underbelly thereof that exists on land......

This story is either well hidden or kept a secret all this time. Further research needed.

PACKERS VS. BEARS, PACKERS VS. BEARS!!!!

In honor of Packers vs. Bears...post your D100 rolls in this thread before the end of half time. you can choose and change which die is your first (i.e. you can swap the ten's spot with one's spot if you so desire). Whoever is closest to the combined score of both teams will win!!!

1st place: Handy Haversack (this should "Pack" plenty of items, see what I did?)!!
2nd place: 1d4 Lasting* Potions of "Bears" Endurance"!! *=special duration, these bad boys last 1
entire session each!!
3rd place: 1d6 potions of Cure Light Wounds.

Post any questions and I will check the forums at the start of the 2nd QTR.

Be sure to check the forums Monday for a special message from an NPC!!!

Russk reaches into slot 35 of the mistrels' wares, and pulls out an Amulet of Natural Armor +1.

He also places his bet on 39.

bob - 9+6
mike - 9+8
TJ - 5+4

Ohhh, I get it now. I'll pick 45, and I'll guess on mike and bobs as 89 and 69 dude.

Numbers are in fellas!!! Good luck!

1st place TJ at 10

2nd place Bob at 14

3rd place Tim at 16

Last but certainly not least... Mike at 34.

Thanks for playing and be sure the check here tomorrow!!

Safe travels old man, perhaps when next we meet you can explain a few things.

A type 1 bag of holding and a handy haversack!

I've got more extra dimensional storage space than M.C. Escher's walk in closet.

^ Ha!! What does "power-creep" mean?

Power creep is the gradual unbalancing of a game due to successive releases of new content.[1] The phenomenon may be caused by a number of different factors and, in extreme cases, can be damaging to the longevity of the game in which it takes place.

As new expansions or updates are released, new game mechanics or effects are introduced, making it increasingly difficult for older content to remain in balance without changes. Usually, this means new content releases grow successively more powerful while older content becomes regressively outdated or relatively underpowered.

This term is used outside games as well.

hrm, learn something new everyday.

Thank you for that extremely thorough explanation. You should find a way to utilize the feat ring to further increase your storage capacity. Then you wouldn't need a donkey as you would become your own pack mule.

Toad is gonna be our pack-mule

This coming from the kitchen-b!%+*.

^^ is that in the advanced classes book?

It's the only prestige class in Ultimate Equipment.

Brimwood sap is highly sought after for its delicious flavor and healing properties.

"The Ghasts" never stray from their home of Gryphon Point. This makes it easy for The Free Council to simply pretend they don't exist....rather than be rid of them. Rumored to be undead, no one knows for sure as those who have the courage to travel south and study The Ghasts seldom return.

Logan likes sap on his waffles.
We should check this place out , if for no better reason than to feed a hungry wolverine something other than humans.

You should follow that statement with knowledge local or knowledge geography checks!!

Knowledge check (geography) 22.

Your knowledge check of 22 reveals;

Brimwood sap is more abundant in the North Brimwood; however, it is much more dangerous to harvest.

More dangerous due to what dwells there?

Indeed. Uruk-Har orcs........

No thank you.

Pretty sure my mad DMing skills will get you to head up there at some point ;)

I'm sure that will end up occurring at some point.
It should be noted however that Orc meat gives the badger terrible gas.

Every 1d4 rounds for one day following the consumption of Orc Logan will gain an anal breath weapon, 30' cone, same effect as the cloud kill spell.

"Say hello to my stinky little friend!"

I'm gonna start interviewing farmers/refugees for jobs at the Well.
