With how Triel is specced out, she could eventually pull that off. :)

I like the idea of signing an infernal contract, and then taking the Test of the Starstone at level 20/tier 10, thereby becoming public enemy number one for Asmodeus. :P

Actually played a Devil-Bound tiefling once who signed a contract with the devil that advises Abrogail Thrune.

I already submitted a character I'm stoked with, but god I feel tempted to see the reactions some kind of Planar Binder would get, running around calling Angels & Devils, asking them to team up to face down Deskari. I couldn't imagine the conversations you would get.

Question for GM: Would you allow Ilinica reanimating a few skeletons before the campaign begins? I'd pay the material costs, of course, and they'd be the regular human skeletons from Bestiary 1. Just a thought.
Since I'm allowing pre-game crafting, sure. Just don't go overboard with it. Limit it to just a couple of servants/bodyguards.

Thanks, I'll reanimate 2 skeletons (costs 50gp). And a good ruling on not to go overboard, because at this point I could control 12 skeletons for a mere price of 300gp. :P

Poor Asmodeus won't stand a chance.

Asmodeus is one of the oldest and most powerful deities in the setting. A setting where gods aren't statted (which means they have infinite power, essentially).

Tar-Baphon is a bonafide badass, but he's still "merely" a level 20 Lich Wizard with 10 Mythic Tiers (he IS statted, and is therefore finite in power).

It's not a contest. Deity > Not a deity in Pathfinder. Tar-Baphon isn't even a match for a widely worshiped demigod (at least in pure CR...Wizard power probably trumps regardless).

Perhaps more tellingly, he's only slightly higher up on the food chain at CR 26 as a CR 25 Infernal Duke...which Asmodeus is provably FAR more powerful than (these being a step below Arch-Devils which are in turn at least one step below Asmodeus).

Take a joke, will ya.

I traded my sense of humor for an encyclopedia of useless facts long ago.

It would be a shame to let it go to waste.

Don't forget that Tar-Baphon's original plan to ascend to godhood required a god to kill him. That's why he went out of his way to pick a fight with Aroden (though Aroden was smart enough to not take him up on his challenge).

Maybe he wants you to get Asmodeus to kill him...

Sounds like a job for Mythic Command Undead. Hey presto: You have a free wizard lich for a best friend!

Good luck getting past his Will +22 and channel resistance +12.

Hmmm...:
10
+10 (1/2 cleric level)
+5 (Cha)
+2 (Improved Channeling feat)
+1 (Sacred Conduit trait)
+5 (1/2 mythic tier)
= DC 33

Not enough... damn.

I decided to stick with a Human Bloodrager, let me introduce my swordsman Elek Kardforgató

The crunch is finished, but I still need to do the fluff, I should have it posted in a couple of days. The mythic path I see him following would be champion or marshal.

fighting style:

When I started to consider a swordsman I wanted to describe his fighting style similarly to how some of the styles were described in “The wheel of time” series; using names and titles for moves and Kata’s. I started thinking about options and developed my idea a little further. My original idea was that the character would practice sword kata’s, the offensive kata’s would be named after animals, the defensive kata’s would be named after elements. There would be four “style” named after the four element, using animals that corresponded with them.

Example: As the orc rushes forward Elek realizes ’I need to be able to parry that great axe.’ Grasping the bastard sword with both hands he pivots on his right foot arching the blade high, using ‘tenacious wind’ to slap the axe away and then dancing left, transitioning to ‘landing crane,’ he slashes the orcs ribcage, spraying blood as he steps past. Following up, releasing the blade with his left hand, he changes forms. The sword whistling through the air using ‘singing swan’ he hamstrings the orc, dropping him to his knees.

That is the basic idea I started with. The element is air, so defenses use air references and the offense uses animals that do well in the air, ie. birds, and the overall style would be swift and storm like.

Another theme from “Wheel of Time” is that the swordsmen would focus their thoughts and clear there mind. Having chosen a bloodrager, I thought it would be interesting to play a bloodrager that way. Intrinsically changing the nature of the bloodrager. Instead of getting really angry and releasing the power inside, what if the “Rager” centers and focuses, calming himself to release the energy.

The third portion of Elek as a bloodraging swordsman is his bloodline. Since I have chosen celestial, I decided to make the meditation almost religious in nature. So instead of focusing on a ‘void’ or emptying oneself he will focus on light, filling himself with light. To add a twist to the process he worships Aroden. He is a descendant, the last of his kind, of the Knightly Order of the Light; the militant arm of the church of Aroden in Cheliax. A precursor to the Hellknights. When the wormwound was created after or because of the death of Aroden they determined that they should go fight.

He learned his fighting style from the descendants of these warriors. So whether the bloodline is a parting gift from Aroden, a byproduct of some long lost celestial forefather, the gods attempting to help these lost souls or just a result of his own mental discipline; is yet to be seen. So the Example paragraph read something like this.

Example: As the Tiefling cultist rushes forward, Elek releases the chaos of battle, forgetting the carnage, focusing on the light. Time seems to slow, the light pushes away the fear, his features radiate the light as his mind and soul center. He realizes ’I need to be able to parry that great axe.’ as thought and action become one. Grasping the bastard sword with both hands he pivots on his right foot arching the blade high, using ‘tenacious wind’ as the light strengthens him. He slaps the axe away and then dancing left, transitioning to ‘landing crane,’ he slashes the orcs ribcage, spraying blood as he steps past, not seeming to notice the gore, his features tranquil. Releasing the blade with his left hand, he changes forms. Crouching, the sword whistling through the air using ‘singing swan’ he hamstrings the tiefling, dropping him to his knees. Standing upright he transitions his bastard sword into ‘Eagles Eire’ and strikes the cultists head from his shoulders. Elek, releases the trance-like state, the physical glow disappears, fatigued from holding the light, he is again only human.

I don’t know that I can describe all of that in PBP all the time but that is what I have in mind.

---=== Background - narrative ===---:

Sold to hell

Rosa remembers a time of rooms and play, Her and her sister in the house of her farther, there Nana would look after her and tell them story’s of the world outside. Rosa knew she and her Lilly could not go out, it was a bad thing and if ever there father found them close to a door or shaded window, he got very angry.

"You must never go out, the world out there is changing, a new force is rising and the hate beings like you and I, so we hide for now."

There father was strict and they did as he commanded. All the servants where magic but for Nana, her Horns had red gold tips and she told the best story's. Of Devils and demons, angels an saints.

In there great court yard of the Keep, life was sunbeams for shuttered trees, play and sleep. The magic servants had a party for them, and Nana gave them both a new dress. Rosa had just put it on when her Farther came. He told Nana it was time and they where to come with him to his workshop. Nana was a little upset, but lead Lilly and Rosa behind their father. The workshop room was deep below ground, it was big and Rosa looked at all the books and bottles. A strange Patten had been made in the middle of the work area floor. Something was there, a monster, Rosa was not scared but Rosa was not. Monsters before.

Her Father looked at the Monster, and taking Lilly lead her to it, she was crying.

"Take this one, and the bargain is made, We survive this night, all I ask she that she must not die in the hells."

The Devil looked at Lilly and then shook its head, it pointed at Rosa

"No! that one and the deal is done, the energy of our master come this night, none left in this house hold will live."

It held out a scroll,

"This is the spell you wish, now take it and I will take her, to serve my lord, and she will live."

Her father came to Rose, he picked her up and carried her to the monster, Lilly pulled at her legs begging that Rosa stay. Rosa was in shock. He father said,

"To save us all Rosa, I have sold you to may lord, his to do as he feels it, its this or death for us all tonight."

He placed her in the patten close to the Monster and took the scroll, he then pulled Lilly away.

“You come with me now”

Rosa looked at her Farther who just nodded, She new her duty, Rosa held her hand out, the Monster teeth beard in a grin, She did not complain or cry, she had been trained never to do such. She did as told. Lilly called out crying.

“The deal is done, you have want you wanted “

There was a flash of red and Rosa was in a hot place, all around Monsters walked and worked, One came over grabbed her and with out a word placed a metal collar around her neck.

“You is slave now, you work here, carry and fetch from kitchen do fast or pain”

He placed a drinking jug in her hands and shoved her and then her mind fogged over.

The war tent

Time passed, she worked with others like her, sold slaves. The great tent made of skin and bone. All she did was work, eat, sleep. If she was slow they crushed under foot, only to awake the next day in the blood pits, Her body whole once more, dragged out and sent back to work carrying food and drink to the Monsters.

The tent moved as its owner the lord of hell willed and she with it, she never once looked outside the tent, she knew only work, pain and sleep.

Then came the time of a fight, another slave, a new one was being slow, he would not move quickly or let her past from the kitchens, so with one swing she smashed he head in and walked over his body to the tables. The Monsters seem to think this was funny, one of them picked Rosa up in its clawed hand,

“Fine one this, she has fire in her, you wast such fire on a slave, place her in the army, she will do well or suffer.”

With that he broke her neck. When she came to she was in a blood pit she had never seen before, it was a cell and standing over it was a Devil Monster holding large knifes. There was others around her,

“worms you are mine, so heed me well, lean to fight and die well and I may let you live again, you will fight and you will die, each time as our lord wills and you will do so no matter what”

with that he throw the Knifes into the pit, there was 12 of them and only three knives.

"Last one standing gets out".

Rosa did not win that day or the next or next, but she learned, soon she did and in doing so joined the ranks of hells army. There she became fodder to fight and die in Hells endless wars. All manner of weapons and armour where given to her, Devils trained her in cut and thrust, throw and smash. She was a fast but her body was weak, The blood pits can do that, make you fast of mind bit weak of body. She used her mind, she learned to force is past the norm, making her will and focus do as she wanted.

The sword

Time passed, then came to time of the sword.

She and others had been sent to frontally attack a rebel Devil, who had called on Demon help.

“You will charge this filth all of you and keep it distracted while and agent of our master deals with it, A Hound of Hell kills it. Most if not all of you will be sent back to the blood pits and death, this is what you are meant to do, and what you are ordered to do, you have Armour, you have weapons, use then on his hoard kill them and make a way for the hound. Now go and die has our lord wills”

They ran over the fire covered hill and down to the waiting Devils/demons, and they died, Its Minions fell but its its grate hammer smashing them while it tail flicked from side to side. Rosa was hit and thrown next to a large rock, her body broken, there she waited for death.

But as she lay dying she had time to see a shape move up behind the Devil. This traitor to the hells was now eating some of her fellow dead unaware of the thing behind. The Shape held in its hands a large black and red sword, closer and closer it moved to smite the Traitor Devil, but somehow it gave its place away, the devil move so fast, it span around and cast a chaotic gaze on the Devil with the sword.

“Do you think you could get me like that hell hound, I could smell your reek of law a mile off!”

One with the sword stopped dead.

Why is he not moving? why do's the one with the sword not strike the corrupted Devil?"

Rose thought, and then she could see, he had become stone.

“Silly little hell hound”

The now demonic devil said,

“He should know better than to send the likes of you, such and INSULT!!!,”

It screamed the last part

“if he wants ME! He can come himself”

with one move of its tail it smashed Stone form of the hell hound, for it had been made into rock.

Rosa closed her eyes as the rubble and stone of the thing fell around her, she could hear the Devil had gone back to its meal. When she opened her eyes again, the pain was grater, but she could also see that the hounds sword had fallen by her side. It was not rock, She looked at it, it was a work of art, the runes on it seemed to flow and shift, so pretty, slowly she moved her hand to touch them, then a voice in her head.

“Arr, a gifted one, so you know that child, there is a spark in you my last owner did not have. Now who do we have here, weak and small but there is room for improvement, you are one with a soul, but life yet, you must do, now lets crack that mind open and get to work, our master will not be happy if I fail”

Then there was great pain in her mind, as the sword poured into it new Knowledge. Knowledge that ripped her mind apart and remade it, Knowledge that found magic in both faith and herself. She could pull power from her own mind and from her master realm. She grow in power and awareness.

They found her 2 days later, Still holding the Sword in the Back of the Dead Devil. They went to throw her back into the blood pits but the sword spoke.

"This one is mine now, She has gifts few have, Make her whole once more and send her for Cleric Training, she is to be sent back with me, our master has given us a new task"

This is how Rosa's life as a Cleric and mind mage of Hell, and they sent her back to the prime.

Looks

Rosa is striking in looks, other worldly odd looks, disturbing looks. Her skin is metallic white scales, fine white metallic sliver hair that always seems to be moving all the time. Her cold metallic sold silver eyes seem to look past you, where who can say. She is very tall (7'4"), age wise she looks around 30, She has metallic horns and a tail that flits about. Rosa walks with grace and pride, and always keeps herself clean and well kept. Her Clothing is of a Cleric of Asmodeus, Black, red and silver. She will never pass of any thing but Hell Spawn and dos not try to.

Personaolity
Rosa dos not hide who and what she is, she is not in any way a Tiefling who lives in Shame. As a LE Cleric of Asmodeus Rose is forever bound by law and she shows the world this. She can be cold, hard, unfeeling, but not cruel with intent to be so, Law is all to her, evil is just what she dos enforcing it. She takes no joy from what she dos as a Hound of hell. She hunts down and beings back the souls of the guilty, the law barkers. But as a new hound she has yet to gain in power. Her mind is sharp, her wits fast, her will like steel. Do not try to plead with her, or look to her good side, she has none. She can be however very diplomatic, and works well with others if they fight for law or to stop Chaos.

Faceless I was wondering if you would be interested in working with me on creating a Deific Obedience for Charon. I'm going to be making a oracle who goes into Soul Eater and thing it would be good for fluff.

This is Sach's submission. Equipment still needs to be finished but the broad strokes of the character are put together.

This campaign is really interesting and I'm really excited to see where it goes!

Bumping the spreadsheet.

I wrote:

Updated the spreadsheet, hopefully it worked. Going for trickster path.

I think I've decided to go for the Kyonin refugee for my character. I'll just have a much easier way to work with the flavor of that than the tiefling alternatives. Might have some problems working with a Drow character, but then again he'll definitely be very much an ends justify the means character, so he could do that temporarily (or if it's a race-traitor I suppose). As a follower of Calistria he'll be wanting revenge for what happened and nothing less than the complete destruction of the race can satisfy that. Is that too extreme?

Grand Lodge

How do you feel about using Benevolent Boon pre-errata? I wanted a trickery domain ability for my occultist build but I realized that It's gone from nifty to a waste of a feat. Thoughts?

So, whilst the Variant Tiefling Heritages doesn't require the Fiendish Heritage feat, what about the Variant Abilities and Physical Features? If allowed, I won't ask to be able to select either, simply roll. Through I would like it if I could roll more than once.

I'd be willing to work something up. PM and we'll work details.

I'm going to say no on that one. Some of those abilities are extremely good and the random number god can lead to silly things.

Alright, that's fair enough.

Now then, is the Trench Fighter allowed? I was planning to go Picaroon 1/Pistolero 5/Picaroon X, but I've noticed that the Sword and Gun feat has Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Snap Shot and Weapon Focus (for Snap Shot) as requirements, which is a LOt of combat feats. That's on top of the Weapon Focus + Fencing Grace I'm gonna need for the melee side of things. So, I kinda need the extra feats ASAP. Plus, I think Trench Fighter would work better fluff wise as well, as I don't have much wisdom, but quite a bit of Con, which seems to me to suit Trench Fighter much more than the Gunslinger does.

Apologies. I made the mistake of reffering to it as "Benevolent" rather than its actual name "Believer's Boon".

Dos that mean NO Variant Abilities and Physical Features for both Tiefling and Aasimar races GM?

If so Ill have to make a whole new PC

F. Castor, Mighty Glacier, you guys are my heroes for doing this.

I'm putting together a campaign to run on the boards in a few weeks. It's nice to have a template to organize character submissions.

By the way, I have also taken the liberty of adding Robert Henry's and Sach's characters to the spreadsheet, as well as changing CaptainFord's character from a Paladin to an Inquisitor.

Anything purely aesthetic is fine. Anything with mechanical effects I would rather avoid.

Ah, yes I see it now. I think the pre-errata version would be okay. It seems like the main change was screwing over the number of times per day that you can use it.

Firstly, we appreciate your work in the organization of these submissions, Castor. Thank you!

Secondly, as I make the final tailoring to Tosk's story, I feel I should mention he would be a candidate for the Marshal path were the mythic categories to be an applied label. Though paladins are martial by nature, Tosk takes the "civil savage" approach in his nature, playing his heritage and environmental necessities off the aspects one would expect a paladin of freedom to uphold.

GM, though Gorum simply revels in general battle, have the actions other gods have taken thus far nudged him to ushed his followers in any particular direction of action? The same question answered would be useful to Tosk to know also, though to a lesser extent, for Desna.

Okay, I couldn't resist:

Try #1:
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 3) = 11 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 6) = 15 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 4) = 15 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 3) = 15 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 2) = 10 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 4) = 14 = 13
14 points

Try #2:
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 6) = 20 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 4) = 13 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 1) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 2) = 7 = 6
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 2) = 18 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 4) = 16 = 14
Not sure what the 6 is worth, but pretty sure it puts this under 20 points.

Try #3:
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 5) = 16 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 3) = 16 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 3) = 17 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 1) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 4) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 1) = 11 = 10
16 points

Try #4:
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 5) = 16 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 2) = 13 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 4) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 2) = 19 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 4) = 14 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 2) = 19 = 17
32 points - I'll take it!

GM, would you be willing to consider the gungineer class from Into The Breach - The Gunslinger by Flying Pincushion Games? It's a fun tinkering class that makes your gun modular. Otherwise, I'm going to work on a gunslinger concept.

GM, though Gorum simply revels in general battle, have the actions other gods have taken thus far nudged him to ushed his followers in any particular direction of action? The same question answered would be useful to Tosk to know also, though to a lesser extent, for Desna.

Gorum has more been siding with the Chaotic Good gods and their followers recently. Meaning his followers have a rather large presence in either militant rebel groups or in the Free Nations. It helps that the majority of the evils (other than the Worldwound, which no one likes) are Lawful Evil and consider Gorum a loose canon. He's not fond of them.

I don't have access to the details on that one and it sounds a little too advanced for Golarion. Firearms are still relatively uncommon there. I'm going to have to say no.

Good luck getting past his Will +22 and channel resistance +12.

** spoiler omitted **

Its doable I think, but requires a bit of support. Necromancy Wizard bypasses channel resistance (but only at level 20 x_x), or you can cast spells such as Kiss of the First World, and Light of Iomedae. The rest is just cranking out your DC. That said, its really going to devolve into Wish/Miracle rocket tag but hey, imagine how amusing it would be if you pulled it off. I think I'm getting off topic tho ^_^

Hey Faceless, I love Automatic Bonus Progression (since it keeps me from being torn between selling off the cool things I found or having suboptimal stats) but thinking about a druid I'm considering building, I have Qs for you about exactly how you'll play it.

* Is there a way for a wildshaping druid to make use of weapon attunement, the way she would have made use of an amulet of mighty fists? e.g. can she attune to an amulet?

* What about her companion? In the old world, I'd have just bought magic barding and (eventually) an amulet of mighty fists for a melee companion. How does that work with ABP?

More campaign specific Q: Can you say how much of this game will be fighting demons? If it's a lot (and therefore a lot of DR/cold iron), it might make sense to go a different direction from a natural attacking druid + companion...which is fine because I have a couple other ideas I'm excited about too.

Thanks!

1) You can attune natural attacks like an amulet of mighty fists.

2) There's not really an equivalent. This means that animal companions will be somewhat less powerful overall. I will be playing with enemy stats a bit as well, so hopefully it won't be crippling.

3) Part of the campaign, especially earlier on, but they are far from the central point of the game.

Greater magic fang can still work right? Lots of classes have it worse than a druid under ABP. My Magus should be able to benefit from most things though :). There are ways to overcome DR as a natural attacker too (spells, weapon blanch, pummeling style, simply having high enough bonus, etc).

Yup. Greater Magic Fang is fine. So are things like Magic Vestament, Magic Weapon, etc.

Question:

Do you allow the various harrowing feats/PrC?

If so, how would one go about "rolling" for such things?

Harrowing feats/spells/PrC are all fine.

The rolling mechanic is roll 1d6 for the suit, then 1d10 for the alignment (reroll on a 10).

Liberty's Edge

4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 1) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 4) = 18 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 6) = 15 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 4) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 3) = 19 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 5) = 19 16

Dotting for later. Sounds neat, kind of crazy to think of everything that could have went wrong, did go wrong. Maybe thinking a Goliath Druid with the Rage Domain, VMC'd with Barbarian.

If it's alright, I'm thinking on adding Undead Lord archetype for Ilinica. (I know it's not optional and definitely a trap option (losing a domain hurts), but it's a good thematic fit and hey, useful bonus feats!)

Up to you. Anyone should feel free to make changes to their characters and concepts as much as they want. You still have essentially a week so feel free to tweak, refine, and redesign until you're satisfied.

GM you did not rule out Psionics, just checking, are they off the table for PC classes?.

Psychic Magic from Occult Adventures is fine. Psionics (such as Dreamscarred Press) are not allowed.

cool gm thanks

I've decided to go with a goblin alchemist (fire bomber) instead of a gunslinger. I'm leaning toward the Trickster path, but I have to study it some more. Sheet pending!
