GM Chyro |

Afaik, you haven't dropped off the book yet, have you?
Some casual talking is going on between early-bird patrons enjoying their breakfast.
The dwarven woman from earlier is walking around, before poking Grint in the side.
"Hey lad, a lack of sleep? I've got something for that."
She turns her head towards the bar. "Bax! Bring a mug of the special morning brew!"
A moment later, the barkeep comes over with a big mug.
It looks like an average ale....."Drink up lad, it'll help you."
-------------
Plans for the day;
Warehouse, exploring the underground city, Darkland tunnels, other?

Father Burdock |

Huh, guess we got distracted; meant to do that right after trying to take care of Tessa.
Burdock thanks Sivar for the hearty meal. "We need to drop this off.", showing the strange book. "I hope someone can explain its origins to us. But we have some other tasks we need to take care of, too. I'm thinking the warehouse that's seeing trouble or the tunnels to look for a diamond for lass Tessa's return."

Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |

The sooner we divest ourselves of this book the better Elsa says, dabbing at her mouth's edge after she has eaten.

Thorn Dulani |

Distractions abound
Thorn perks up at the coming plans, " L-Lady Tessa has b-been secured s-safely we should c-check the warehouse t-then check the t-tunnels. W-with the attack last night. T-They might be all r-related. "

GM Chyro |

They might be, might not be.
That will be for you guys to find out.
The group ventures forth through the streets of Janderhoff, occasionally getting a quick glance, as the majority of the humans currently walking around in Janderhoff are at the docks.
From time to time, you notice you are being watched, the dwarfs leaving quickly when you look their way. It happens about 5 times.
The warehouse is a single floor, but has a 20 feet high roof.
Its double doors are of solid wood and look very firm, proof of dwarven sturdy design.
The plan?

Grint Mavric |

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Grint walks along, bow in hand but no arrows nocked yet.
"With all our luck, they might just be all related. I wouldn't be surprised to find more cultists even here in Janderhoff."

Father Burdock |

Can't even make that check if I wanted to.
"Don't even joke about that.", Burdock sighing at the grim possibility. "Looks like nothing out of the ordinary out here...", the dwarf moving to open the doors when the others are ready.

GM Chyro |

Thorn takes a quick look at the surroundings.
The general public is pretty occupied with their daily business and haven't given attention to the group yet.
From the front, where you are at, the doors can be opened via a DC 20 Disable Device, or a Strength check DC 22.
The sound of something metal falling onto the floor can be heard in the distance, along with a vaguer frantic talking.

Thorn Dulani |

Thorn sighs as nothing seemed out of the ordinary. he leveled his weapon comfortably and lifted though he had no confidence in it. " D-Don't be surprised if I f-fail. It seems heavy. "
Str Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Grint Mavric |

Grint looks at the door and listens.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
"Hmm, there might be nothing on the door. Wait. Did you hear that? Something made of metal fell onto the floor inside."
Maybe we should get a wand of Knock.

Sivar Soulscar |

Sivar throws himself into helping Thorn
"Almost there Thorn, together!"
aid str Thorn: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Can you take 10 on an aid roll, seems weird it would be auto-pass, succeeded roll anyway, but it would be good to just try take 10 in future
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
"Hark I heard ...The sound of something metal falling onto the floor can be heard in the distance, along with a vaguer frantic talking."

GM Chyro |

I don't think it works like that, since take 10/20 is applied on skills, opposed to ability score checks.

GM Chyro |

From within, something slams hard against the door, with a dwarfen scream ensuing.
Two more slams follow.
Some red liquid seeps from underneath the door, expanding slowly.
Str DC on the door has dropped to DC 18.
You can of course try to quickly scan around the warehouse for other potential entrances.

GM Chyro |

Presumably you opening was thwarted by the slamming...^^
Sorry for overlooking.
I'll update in the morning.

GM Chyro |

The forcing of the door would have worked, had it not been for the forceful slams exactly at that time from within.
A few seconds later, you open the door, to see nobody in it.
Though not as bright as outside, it is bright enough for humans to see clearly.
There are barrels and crates stacked and a workbench is on the other side.
Some coils of rope lie scattered on the floor.
One also lies close to the door.
A dusty old pot stands upon the workbench.
Marked on map.
The coils have the very vague shape of a humanoid.
The coils seem to take more humanoid shape, the longer you stare at them.
The one at the door looks like dwarf.

GM Chyro |

That's too easy :)
Thank the kind elf.
There's a series of ropes and pulleys along the ceiling, with a weighted ballast system supporting a lifting crane.
The area outlined red is a loft higher up, with the 5ft being board walks. The heavy orange lined borders are safety boards, providing cover. Black is....well you'll find out.

Sivar Soulscar |

Sorry I was posting hastily
"Look there is a dusty old pot on the workbench, The coils have the very vague shape of a humanoid and that really looks to me like its a dwarf, what's going on here?"
"I wonder if it could be something caused by an undead or extra-planar being"

To your knowledge, no outsider is known to mask dead bodies as objects.

" S-Something is l-likely invisibly t-tossing people. "
Thorn step forward with his axe drawn looking around at any sudden/slight movements.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

GM Chyro |

Not quite, but you're not too far off.
Thorn sees what is spoilered above and now.
You very vaguely see and hear an irregularity near the crates to the SE.
The sound of....an angry voice? Somewhere in what you reckon the grey marked area.
Concerning the sight:
Similar to how you'd perceive something through glass, you see the same but it's slightly different.

Sivar Soulscar |

Sivar casts Iron skins +4 NAC and then moves to stand beside Thorn his Fauchard before him looking in the direction Thorn is pointing
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

GM Chyro |

1 round action from the others, before we go at this.

Grint Mavric |

Grint nocks an arrow to his bow and moves towards behind the others, backing up against the wall.
He readies an arrow to shoot at any obviously dangerous creature.
Grint looks around the room and checks the ceiling and floor for any signs of traps or things that might be dangerous.
Take 10 on Perception: 10 + 12 = 22
Note: Depending on the description of the creature/encounter Grint might fire or not fire. Seeing a white rabbit with blood-coated fur and teeth would for instance be considered dangerous to him, same goes for a wolf, armed goblins, a vampire, creepy dolls holding a dagger etc. Unarmed humanoids will not directly provoke the shot, unless they start casting spells at us, charge us or do anything that would harm us.

Father Burdock |

Burdock, getting an uneasy feeling, casts Protection from Evil: Communal, buffing himself, Thorn, Sivar, and Grint.
1 minute of Protection from Evil for us all!
"What in Torag's beard is going on?", he asks quietly.

Elsa says Grint what is happening? and she casts Light on something nearby.

GM Chyro |

Between the talking of the group, a heavily wounded dwarf stumbles forward onto the ground, popping up as if from invisibility.
"Accursed monsters....what are those things..."
..before he passes out.

These were visible for a split second. I'm going to rule a no.
To the other question, would you imagine creatures from nightmare to be all cuddly friendly?

Grint Mavric |

Damage: 1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 4 = 131d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 4 = 15
Visible for a split second is enough to fire a shot, though with a miss chance. So there's no visible creatures but they are visible on the map?

Thorn Dulani |

Because prot evil could work or not. As far as the Readied action, thats sorta what its meant for.. especially if you arent Flat Footed. If they had enough time to spit he had enough time to shot them as they spit.
Fort/Protection: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Thorn placed his axe in front to block it but was unable to fully grasp the situation.
Knowledges?

GM Chyro |

They are indeed invisible.
I put them on the map as location from where the shots came from.
One can't react to everything, popping out of invisibility and remaining visible is much more likely than disappearing right after they spat it.
I'm going to say no on this.
They hit you guys FF, since there was no combat 'yet' and you did not know what was in here. Yes, you do get that +2 against these things.
This is their surprise round, as they noticed you via some good perception rolls.
Grint, you're rolling for hit % btw.
They vaguely remind you of lore on a thing called a Gibbermouth.
Aberrations with many eyes and mouths.
What you saw, however, was something unknown entirely.

Miss Chances 1-50: 1d100 ⇒ 421d100 ⇒ 80
I'm confused, are they visible or not? Your spoiler says it's more likely they remained visible, instead of disappearing again. Either they have remained invisible the whole time and we couldn't have seen them even when they fired, or they are visible, or they turned invisible again?
"Guys, you saw those outlines yeah? Can we make them or their steps visible?"

GM Chyro |

They turned invisible again the moment they attacked.
Grint manages to shoot an arrow into, well, something.
Thorn activates his divine healing.
