Voice 1: "*Cough..cough*..alright, back to guarding the damp space with a box....honestly....*cough*.."
Voice 2: "If you don't stop complaining i'm gonna make sure that cough is going to be silenced permanently."
The tunnel makes you move at half speed.
You have 1 round to set up before the two goons return.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |
Elsa casts True Strike using her wand...
GM Chyro |
I reckon Elsa didn't stay in the tunnel, as such i've placed you just inside the room.
The two voices come closer again.
#1: "He's making stuff up...dumb fool."
#2: "Whatever, as long as he does his job and...what the?"
Confrontational pause.....

Come on Elsa, you really expect the thug to require a fort roll, when you roll that kind of dmg?
Surprise, round 1.
The ice ball catches the man in the chest, a large patch of clear frost gripping him as he reaches for his heart before he falls down.
#2: "What the hell did you do to him?"
1d20 ⇒ 17
1d2 ⇒ 2
Thorn
Grint & Father Burdock
Ruffian
There is unfortunately no opportunity to remove the beam from the inside.
GM Chyro |
You've heard 2 talking, but there's no way to be sure yet.
Voice 1: "You know, i wonder who the guy is, who's hired the boss and us to steal these goods and kidnap these here."
Voice 2: "Why does it matter? We get paid well enough, that's all i need to know."
Voice 1: "Yeah, but there's just something about him, could even be just a messenger."
Voice 2: "Stop worrying and keep quiet about it, or need i remind you of the unexplainable way that guy the other day ended up dead?
I don't know, i don't want to know, as should you."
Voice 1: *Grumble, mutter, grumble*
Grint Mavric |
Grint either steps 5 feet to the north or 5 feet north-east, depending if Thorn moves and attacks the ruffian.
He aims for the last ruffian and fires two shots at him.

Thorn Dulani |
You can only standard in the surprise I believe Grint.. Upside, your first might hit now. Don't forget Bless.
Thorn looks at his Axe, it shakes in his hand as he moves forward to close the distance.
GM Chyro |
As Thorn closes distance, Grint moves north to shoot at the ruffian.
Despite Thorn being in los, Grint manages to put 1 arrow in the ruffian.
"Ugh...damn you."
Disabled
Father Burdock
Ruffian
Father Burdock |
Burdock is surprised at the lethal accuracy, especially given the fact that he was hoping to have one alive to question.
"Hands in the air, and come quietly.", the dwarf readying his hammer at his side.
GM Chyro |
The man withdraws, holding his side where Grint's arrow hit him...
...and from the end of the little corridor.....
"Alert!!"
It remains quiet after that....for now.
Grint Mavric |
"We can still question him. He can't really move far in the state he is in, let alone fight us. After him."
He can't be much further than 15 feet away from Burdock, unless he's unconscious and bleeding that is.
Grint moves closer to Burdock and waits for him to move further down the hall and then moves after him.
GM Chyro |
I've moved Father Burdock & Grint to where i think they'd be after their posts.
Father Burdock |
Burdock looks to the others and nods. "Guess they know we're here, no reason to be sly.", and presses forward into the next turn of the corridor.
Whoops, moved Burdock into the black circle and now he's under it; didn't want to move it on you so I guess it'll be revealed shortly anyway.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |
Indeed Father, I'm right behind you... Elsa says as she follows the sturdy dwarf, her fingers tracing frosty patterns in the air.
GM Chyro |

As Father Burdock and Elsa go after the man, they enter a large circular room.
Three flask fly towards Father Burdock as he enters.
Father Burdock is hit by two flasks, the fiery liquid still burning as it lingers on his armor. 1 fails to hit, but it splashes minor dmg near him and Elsa.

Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |
Oh, ok.
Elsa uses her wand of True Strike! Frost Bolt incoming sucka!
GM Chyro |
You've heard the conversation from earlier.
The next checkup will be when the quartet will have advanced a bit more through the rooms.

Grint's second shot misses green however.
Father Burdock & Thorn
Father Burdock |
Burdock steps to the south to give Thorn an opportunity to surround him.
"Drop thy weapon and surrender unless you want another kiss of dwarven steel!"
Readied action to attack the guy if he tries to move or attack.
Readied attack @ Green: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

GM Chyro |
Blue goes down, as does green's weapon, as he drops it and puts his hands behind his head.
"I ain't dying down here...."
Combat over
Unless you off the surrendering guy too.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha |
You will tell us what your purpose is here, as well as those who give your orders. You will tell us this, and hold nothing back! We will not countenance lies! Elsa says with a hardness to her eyes
Intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
GM Chyro |
"Okay, okay!.....
The boss was approached a little while ago by this guy, i dunno his name, in a tavern in Korvosa we visited. He spoke to the boss in private, next thing we hear we've been hired to steal harvest from these nearby farmers and kidnap 1 or 2 as leverage. They're held in the abandoned barn.
I'm sure you've met the boss already, muscular man with an attitude."
Thorn Dulani |
Thorn lowers his axe and twitches a bit at the mention of him, " Yes " The smaller man letting the blade touch the ground. " What of the f-family from t-the stage c-coach? T-They weren't f-from this village. "
GM Chyro |
"I dunno, i wasn't there, but i heard of it. If the boss or an ordered by the boss group took them, they should be in the barn. If they're lucky or of use...something about that guy was off, and i've seen plenty of shady characters. One of our own, who spoke his doubts, had ended up dead."
Father Burdock |
Burdock moves to stabilize the others (if possible), and then listens in on the interrogation. "Did the 'boss', have any necklaces or strange symbols around?", the dwarf not liking the idea of off people and shady characters again.
GM Chyro |
Father Burdock manages to stabilize red, but just barely.
"No man, he's just your every day 'special muscle', hardened and strong you know? That and he's had some minor power that seemingly helped him get where he is now. The man who got killed did mention he briefly saw the figure wearing a symbol, something about a black spiral?"
The symbol of Yog-Sothoth.
