Thorn Dulani |
That was the whole reason Thorn was even on the ground in the first place. DM then I assume instead DR would have been chosen and Thorn had taken less damage? As appropriate to the change as otherwise I would not use said ability pretty much until the END of my turn, to thus gain it the next round.... even then it likely wouldnt come up..
EDIT: Can't teach humility when you are constantly on the ground.
GM Chyro |
If i would have rewind all damage due to that, we'd be messing actions.
You might even have ended up worse for wear, if you were conscious at times of me rolling for targets.
Thorn Dulani |
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.
@ previous discussion; With the results I am sure thats not particularly true.. as Being up and not prone is different from Prone and disarmed and constantly getting hit by people. At least from what has been rolled. Unless you assume there would suddenly be a crit.
GM Chyro |
Is that thanksgiving today?
Have a happy day then.
GM Chyro |
You in the US probably have more special days than us Europeans.
Probably a few i haven't heard of either.
Grint Mavric |
concerning the previous discussion, a bite attack is a primary attack and will get the full BAB bonus and no penalties. So you could use a weapon and a bite attack with a full-round action both on full attack bonus.
Claws on the other hand would be a secondary attack when you also use a weapon in one of your hands.
Thorn Dulani |
Grint I am not sure where you got any of that information but that is very much false.
1.) Bite, Claw and a few other attacks are ALL Primary Natural Attacks which means they do full Str to hit and damage. Unless stated otherwise its the natural attack TYPE that signifies this.
2.) Using a weapon at all in any limb with that has a natural attack means you cannot attack with that nat attack if you wish to use manufactured attacks.
3.) Using ANY combination of unrestricted Nat attacks and Manufactured attacks makes all natural attacks accompanying the process Secondary if not already and imparts the penalties for them.
Grint Mavric |
So I've been told lately Thorn. seems I've been told wrong before no doubt.
I was told that you could always use your bite attack on a full-round action, but I was never told that it invokes penalties while using weapons as well.
Ah well, never too late to learn.
GM Chyro |
Come on team, someone take Sven down.
Can't have the coterie steal the kill or him getting in another full rounder.
Elsa, if ever a snowball would be epic, this is certainly the opportunity.
GM Chyro |
Grint, i saw you posted in another thread over an hour ago.
I'm going to sleep, if by the time i wake up...nothing still, i'll idle your turn, beware :D
Grint Mavric |
Yeah, I've been quite busy the last few days, appointments; newly found inspiration and energy qill get you that.
To be honest I think I've overlooked it to be my turn as well.
Sorry about that.
GM Chyro |
Soon.....into the darklands.
Ready thine torches, mortals, for it is very dark hence you are headed.
Thorn Dulani |
So yeah Changing levels for Thorn especially since we didnt level from that fight. Im waffling between How many levels of Barb or Fighter.. with Inquisitor. And changing a feat out because it hasnt really done anything for him.
GM Chyro |
1 dip maybe, for starters.
Actually, lvl gain is right around the corner.
It's just waiting for you to pick your lead and grab it.
However, level 6 won't be as relatively soon as the current pace was.
Thorn Dulani |
Nahh I mean rebuild, he is too weak for this. I made him this way based on what was before and with the ruling you have on certain things I have to change up quite a bit as a martial or Thorn will commit suicide from embarrassment.
GM Chyro |
You're no Tien samurai.
As long as it's according to retraining rules, knock yourself out.
There's got to be a trainer for the specific class, however, more so if you're aiming for an archetype.
From core classes, Janderhoff would not have druids.
From base classes, there are no gunslingers, summoners or witches within Janderhoff.
As it is a lawful city, C specific classes are not a part, but we'll roll for any potential visiting ones you could train with.
Thorn Dulani |
@Grint, yeah there are bfew classes that have to be C only, not that I would take them because LG.
Tien has nothing to do with it again, it seems you are missing the point.
If rulings and game is changed outside of what the character is expected then ofcourse a change should be made. It'd be like saying the game will have demons and devils and I make a core rogue before all the cool stuff. Then we run into nothing but Elementals, HUGE elementals.. Ofcurse it would mean that you would want to change.
Now assuming we go on these retraining rules with the Meager amount of gold I have now. Will its STILL take forever, to train and change? Will i basically be out of several gold and time for trying to survive?
GM Chyro |
You are missing/ignoring the reference......Tien/Japan, Samurai & ritual suicide in case of defeat. You're neither, missing the point of encouragement of not hopping into suicide?
Of course things don't take forever.
This is what downtime is for and i can still read fine without it being in caps.
Besides, i recall a certain dwarf say the guard would likely pay for information with the warehouse. Given you've rescued one of their own.....
Now, i'm going to sleep with the night shift coming tonight.
Happy thoughts people....is what we'd like to wake up to.
GM Chyro |
Yes...i had the feeling you'd like that. :)
Father Burdock |
So Inquisitor 4/Unbreakable Fighter 1? Interesting Blend. But you can wear heavy armor, now, which can help with your AC. Plus side, I can make you masterwork heavy armor during the downtime and even enchant it. Selling your magic breastplate for some solid heavy armor would cost about 550gp.
Thorn Dulani |
Nothing interesting about it, Its purely for survival. While Heavy armor is fine and all I didnt originally have him made to wear such till later so really all Im doing is moving it faster along. And delaying the PRC he was eventually going to go into later. AC wasnt really a problem/ wont be fixed all that much (BP gave +7 and 3 Dex/ FP gives +9 but one Dex)
Its more so I cant ever be screwed out of Judgement or other things. Ill still have to place money into that to catch back up.
Father Burdock |
Actually, I was thinking the O-Yoroi armor which is +8 armor/+2 Dex. With the +1 enchantment it'll be overall +2 AC boost for you. I'd like to think that being such a master craftsman I could replicate Tian armor fairly well :)
Grint Mavric |
Grint will no longer need to carry a sword with him to effectively fight at close quarters.
Point-Blank Master feat all the way ^^
I'm almost better though, will post tomorrow.
GM Chyro |
The haggler feat was meant for selling stuff with slightly better prices in Kharum only.
Call me picky, but this is a dwarven city, there's no Tian armor smith here.
1d100 ⇒ 96
Kharum gets an occasional foreign traveling merchant from it, but not Janderhoff.
Thorn Dulani |
Doesnt a high roll mean something good? Also Im aware but nothing stops us from going back to Kharum, selling these Items and then coming back here... as literally we wont be doing anything until a month later.
Burdock is also crafting the armor so it doesnt have to be from anyone here.
As far as no seppuku on a serious note, that was not even Japan exclusive in practice. It often was far less pretty and structured/romanticized. Also harder to do with an axe.
GM Chyro |
There's a problem if Father Burdock wants to craft Tian Xia armor.
From the beginning of the campaign, i specified Tian Xia armor is not for sale in Varisia at convenience. The only way to get it would be from them directly.
Since Father Burdock is a smith from Janderhoff, he'd have knowledge of making pretty much any sort of non-Tian Xia armor. Its crafting techniques (direct stats from Eastern Armor) would therefor be be unpracticed in Varisia.
Enhancing armor via conventional means, have a blast.
Beware, painting something crimson red will attract the bulls though.
1d4 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 31d5 ⇒ 5
The merchant arrives with all 4 light, 3 of 6 medium, and all 5 heavy eastern armors for sale.
GM Chyro |
I added your cash to your sheets.
There's still 10k worth of items unclaimed/unsold.
If you'd sort out what goes to who and what is sold.
Thorn Dulani |
So just to be sure here are the prices marked up for the armors or not?
Im also curious if you consider Judgement Fast Healing to be magical or not? This will determine things such as feat choice and whatnot. Will Retraining be based on level 4 or Level 5?
If the sheet we have here is appropriate (Including the reward cash) then I would say Elsa is fine on loot because she has the largest amount ( on top of whatever the gift does. It seems Burdock is in need of the most loot with Sivar and Thorn coming 2nd/3rd. Then Grint.
The loot is also variable in that some things sold might not equal loot out, (Save for the Father)
around 8k Is what Im thinking we want to get people around likely closer to 7 because of distribution.
We might also be running low on that wand so funds have to go there.
Assuming we sold everything and re-purposed, Burdock could get armor Increases via himself
Even if we spread the loot among the 4 martials and not else thatd be ~ 2559.75 g. Which would only put Grint somewhere near equal.
Then the payment for Retraining/Loot shifting happens.
Father Burdock |
That sheet is off. I have a pearl of power 1, +1 armor, shield, and hammer, too. I think Thorn and Grint need the most, followed by Sivar. I myself just want a Headband or perhaps a cloak.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Thorn Dulani |
Yeah Shifting the loot around Thorn starts off in the hole. He doesnt even have a belt or headband either.
Selling the armor he has gives him 675 with the 950 according to this sheet that would be 1725. Masterwork O-yoroi is 1850 and +1 is 2850. Then its the pay for retraining. Which I think totaled like 900 more, From that point Either a Belt of Con or Retraining spells would be needed, maybe a Cloak.
Thorn starts off in the hole a bit more actually.
Upside, conditions underground wont be that different, we have ways of staying warm.
GM Chyro |
If whatever is missing currently, you could add for yourselves, it'd save confusion, for some reason, my PC won't allow me access to change anything. >_>
Thorn:
------
Retraining, you can retrain what you want. I'm unsure what you mean whether it's based on lvl 4 or 5. Retraining levels is retraining levels.
I'd consider your judgment Fast Healing not the magic version, but working the same.
Yes, the prices on the eastern armor section is what the man's charging.
Father Burdock |
@Thorn: Actually, the +1 to the armor will only be a 500 increase as I have Craft Magic Weapons & Armor. Another bonus, I have a trait that reduces magical item costs of stuff made by me by 5%, so it would only cost 475 gold :) Your total for the armor would be 2375.
Likewise, I can make the cloak or belt, too, barring time.
Thorn Dulani |
@GM: Alright then so the Fast Healer feat isnt useful; good thing I didnt pick that. All the weaknesses of the magical version. One of the few uses for Diehard.
Retraining gets more expensive as you level the higher you are the higher it is.
Father, its based on worth for loot overall is the thing, this was assuming you DID actually craft it, however, that just keeps the worth the same (Because being sold makes the loot worth less unless you can covert it. The base armor being a situation where that is the case)
GM Chyro |
Well, we can base it off lvl 4, as the 5th lvl is a new one to take.
Thorn Dulani |
Cool, is there anything else I should know about your interpretations of any ability Thorn has/can have that I need to adjust for? Like The Fast healing? Surprises are fine but less so with class abilities.
Shield other for example is a nice spell but on revelation Thorn doesnt have any capability to do such a spell effectively. Also I dont think I can find plat rings. (It was also chosen when we had a paladin)
GM Chyro |
Plat rings= platinum rings?
Depends on which one you're asking me to look into.
There'll be plenty to bring divine wrath upon down there.
