Just get a big rock as a thief and roll it at things you want to check for traps.

I like to imagine a Lawful rogue as a black ops soldier type. Stealthy, precise, and very disciplined.

Hmm, I could possibly reskin my guy as a magus. Let me think about that.

GM--I noticed in your profile that you are 14. I played RPGs when I was your age, so I'm not knocking you for that (and I commend you for offering to run a game!), but because of your age I'm asking: do you have any GM experience? I ask because PbP GMing can raise some challenges, especially for a dungeon crawl. I just started GMing Mummy's Mask (book 1 of which starts off with 3 big dungeon crawls in a row) and I can perhaps offer some advice on how to make things run smoothly.

For example, I use Google Drawings for all of the maps (and just cover up unexplored rooms) and Google Docs to organize all of the room flavor text (and relevant room spoilers, etc) so it makes it easier to keep the flow going.

Another challenge will be managing two simultaneous (and likely adversarial) groups. I have a decent amount of GMing experience, and I've never done two simultaneous groups. I feel that it would be difficult. How do you plan to run this?

Yea, I am 14. this is my 2nd real play by post, so I am rather new to that, but I have been GMing/DMing/ Playing RPGs in general since before third grade, and I on average GM about as much as I am a player. I have a lot of experience with this module as I am running it IRL as well as on another site. Thanks for the advice on Google. I plan to have the groups be in the location that they are in real time, rather than where they should be according to how much time they spent (does that make sense? I seems confusing now that I read it.) And for leveling I won't use EXP, just level up when the characters reach the next level of the dungeon.

That's cool! And that's a good idea re: leveling--way too much bookkeeping. Yeah, when I run APs I just use the suggested level guidelines for each section of the AP and just level at that time. Ok, I'll submit something today.

This is mbauers--here's my Lore Warden Fighter submission for the Chaotic team. He is deceptively tanky with his weapon trick feat and should contribute some useful skills (and a little magic with UMD) outside of combat as well.

Bump.

How badly do you want all of the roles filled out? I can be the "skill monkey" for the law team if you prefer.

I don't have disable device, but I do have perception. If you really want the skill guy to have disable device, would you consider letting me take the trait from Mummy's Mask that lets you disable magical traps like a rogue?

Personally, I think it would be cool to just roll with 4 or 5 characters apiece on each team disregarding traditional roles and just see what people come up with.

Yeah, sure let's do that. I would have preferred to have all the roles but I'm not getting much interest for this, and it won't spell absolute doom for a party if they don't have the roles. So I'll wait a few days to see if there's any more intrest and then we'll start, say on Thursday.
Edit: there are quite a few traps, so having someone with disable would be nice, so it's fine if you take that trait.

Ok, done. I see Enrico as more of a mercenary anyway and one who has a certain code, so lawful is probably better. He now has both perception and Disable Device, so I present him as the "skill" role for the Lawful team.

Go team Lawful!

"Being law abiding farty pants sux!! You can't just murder hobo wheneves you want.. So says Asassi!"

Yeah, based on my experience with my party in the spire, the traps are dangerous but not lethal. My party has a rogue, but they also have someone trying to become the goddess of triggering traps (I'm not sure why). I don't go easy on him with the traps, but they're still alive.

The teams look pretty fair to me. Sure Chaos doesn't have an arcane caster, but they have three divine casters. DM, are you willing to run with 5 on 5?

Looks to me like we only have 4 on each. The first 2 haven't actually done anything beyond their concepts.

Ah, you're right. So 4 on 4, then? :-)

Alright. Recruitment is closed if that wasn't clear. Because I'm currently on vacation on spring break, I'd prefer not to start in earnest until I get back on Saturday, but I will open up threads sometime later today.

Ok, law discussion is up in this campaign, I'll create a new one for chaos in just a bit

Ok link to the chaos discussion is here
