Boudacia is returning from peeking out the door when she says on the topic of slavery:-

Perhaps we should discuss the topic of slavery in more detail later. We are hardly in a position to influence the Cheliax Empires policy to abolish or reduce slavery at the moment.

That is one hell of an understatement. Do these guys realise the trouble this sort of talk could get them into?

I have heard tell of strange attacks by new types of undead monsters. I don't know any more or even if it is true. But this has High Mother Sarise Dremagne worried. Perhaps we should talk to her before leaving for the Spire also.

When the subject of the Spire comes up Aldhranhald's face lights up with a wide grin, making the white and pink scars on the right side of his face wrinkle and distort. Well, it just so happens, that one of the first places I stopped in town was the Nolm Book Bindery. I have a thing for books, if you haven't guessed already. It just so happens that the proprietor had in her possession a scroll with quite a bit of knowledge about the Emerald Spire. The elf leans down into his pack, and opening his waterproof bag, he pulls out his scroll case, and removes the newly copied scroll. Thankfully the original was written in Common, and he copied it in the same, so most should be able to read it. He cleared a spot on the table, and smoothed out the scroll on top of it. Here, any who wish, are free to read it. He says, then leans back with a certain air of joy. We've not even left town yet, and already knowledge has proved itself a worthy and helpful companion. It is ever so.

Scroll of the Spire:

THE STORY OF THE SPIRE
In the unthinkable depths of time, the mysterious Vault Builders carved vast homes in the subterranean recesses of the world. They left their fingerprints in many places in the Darklands beneath Golarion, delving colossal cavern-worlds and sculpting titanic magical constructs that strengthened these vaults against collapse, supplied them with air and water, and filled them with whatever specimens and artifacts the Vault Builders saw fit to preserve. Most of the Vault Builders’ works were entirely buried miles below the surface—but not the Emerald Spire.
Why the Vault Builders created the Spire or when they abandoned it, no one can say. Like many other strange wonders in the world’s depths, the Emerald Spire was forged with mighty magic, served its purpose for untold centuries, and in time was forgotten by its makers. What remains today is the titanic splinter of strange green crystal embedded in the earth. Only part of its uppermost end pierces the surface, rising a few dozen feet above the ground.
The Coming of the Azlanti
Sometime around 10,000 years ago, an Azlanti wizard-prince - whose name has been lost to the ravages of time - was discovered plotting against the royal family and forced to flee into exile across the sea in the untamed continent of Avistan. He and his followers chose a remote woodland for their home in exile. Not only was the Echo Wood thousands of miles from Azlanti justice; it was also home to the mysterious Emerald Spire, which he had discovered after hearing tales of the fantastic crystal from natives he subjugated in his exile.
The exiled prince was fascinated by the arcane power slumbering in the Spire. Among other unusual properties, the substance of the Emerald Spire proved physically nigh indestructible but magically malleable and capable of serving as an arcane battery for powering long-lasting spells or creating constructs. Most importantly, the device served as a powerful focus for planar energy, tapping the subtle magical currents miles beneath the world’s surface to create potent resonances with every known plane of existence.
He realized that the Spire held secrets to vast power — perhaps power enough to overthrow the enemies who had forced him to flee Azlant. Below ground, they sculpted strange dungeons to access different points along the Emerald Spire and built laboratories to experiment with the Spire’s planar properties.
However, he and his followers didn’t escape Azlanti justice forever. A few decades after the evil archmage fled his homeland, the Azlanti authorities successfully divined his location and launched a powerful attack to eradicate the vile cultists. The attackers wiped his palace off the crown of Brokenhelm Hill (the modern site of Thornkeep) and shattered the upper reaches of the Emerald Spire. The Azlanti warriors raided his secret dungeons and hidden vaults, slaying the wizard in his lair.

Since Then
Humans came to the region, but the primitive tribes of the Echo Wood and the early settlers of the River Kingdoms avoided the Spire, spooked by the eerie otherness of the place and stories of the various monsters from other worlds that frequently plagued it. The goblins of Zog, which occupied the Echo Wood roughly 500 years ago, used the Emerald Spire as a creative form of execution, driving those sentenced to death into the dungeon to meet grisly ends in the monster-infested depths.
After Zog was defeated by the neighboring realms, human settlers slowly moved back into the northwest corner of the River Kingdoms. Towns such as Thornkeep, Southwood, and Mosswater were founded near the Emerald Spire. More people and more commerce meant that the news of the Spire’s existence began to spread. New parties of adventurers came to the area to try their luck in the Spire’s dungeons. At the same time, the deeper levels of the Emerald Spire attracted the attention of new waves of subterranean dwellers. Bands of derros, morlocks, troglodytes, and stranger creatures infiltrated the Spire’s lower reaches from the Darklands, establishing lairs and performing horrid experiments.

Boudacia takes the offered scroll and reads it thoughtfully. She then asks:-

Should I read it aloud for all to hear? It is certainly not a place to be ventured into lightly.

If there is a positive response to her question, she will proceed to read the scroll aloud.

Boudacia looks around and sees the meal is practically finished, then looks at the group and says:-

It looks like we have finished eating. There is much to be done before heading to the Spire. We will need to talk to Abemard Royst about his mapping commission, then to the Lord Commander about another paid task and a Letter of Warrant and likely to High Mother Sarise Dremagne about recently appearing undead. What say we finish our drinks and be about it?
Abemard Royst's dwelling is not far away, so perhaps there first.

Zero looks at the massive northerner with respect before saying, "Will you read it aloud please? It may help prevent any confusion from arising." Smart of him to prevent any misunderstanding before we actually enter combat.

After it is read, Zero rises up and arches backwards, stretching himself out before standing to his full height. Grabbing his blade from it resting place against his chair, the half elf dips his head. "I'll follow."

Excellent! Aldhranhald says as he grabs the Spire scroll from the table and replaces it in its containers in his backpack. He shoulders his pack, grabs his oak staff, and then reaches into the leather pouch on his belt and drops four gold coins on the table. That should about cover meals and drinks all around, don't you think? He asks, and then waits for everyone to file out of The Helmed Lady's parlor room so he can follow.

Zat vill be a large tip for ze barmaids..

Not caring much of what the scroll said, the north-man soon stands and slides his chair back with his legs, the battleaxe resting on it tips and falls flat on the floor. He glances at it and shakes his head. Reaching down he gathers it up, and the rest of his things. Shouldering the pack on he then slings the darkwood shield over his shoulder, and drops the axe in a leather and steel loop on his belt.

Saying nothing he heads to the door and holds it for everyone to pass through. When the last person has gone through he also leaves and closes it most of the way. The northerner then takes long strides as best he can and heads to the front door of the place, and again holds the door for them all.

When Tamlara returns, Boudacia, leads the way to Abemard Royst's dwelling, which is not far. If nothing of note occurs on the way, she knocks on the door when they arrive.

As you arrive at the location that Boudacia indicates she thinks is Royst's home, both Tamlara and Alex will confirm it is the right location.
You see a relatively large 2-story house that is very nice looking. This by no means belongs to a poor commoner, and while obviously the home of someone wealthy, it is not overtly extravagant either.

When Boudacia knocks on the door, a servant opens the door and asks you to please state your business. Upon telling him that you are here about the job offer to map the Spire, he will escort you to a sitting room & ask that you wait here "without touching anything please!" while he summons the Lord Abernast. "It may take some time for him to present himself as he does get absorbed in whatever current 'hobby' he is dealing with. Please be patient."

After about a half hour or so, in walks Lord Abernard Royst. In a rather gruff tone and at a fairly quick pace, "My! You are a rather large group of adventurers aren't you? Good! The better chance for success rather than death! I am Abernard Royst. Well, I hope your not wasting my time! I want maps of the spire! As detailed as they can be! And any additional information or notations to go with them! I will pay according to the quality and amount of danger involved per each map that you bring me. Now! None of this trying to scribble 3 or 4 itty bitty maps on one parchment to save paper! I expect you to use at least one full parchment per level! The rewards start at 300 Gold pieces and for a map that is very well done & for which you had to overcome enormous obstacles ... well, who knows how much I might be willing to pay! Just so you know I've been known to pay as much as 20,000 for the BEST of stuff! The gods - and the scoundrels of the Hellknights and perhaps some thief or two as well - know I've got the money to spend! After all my years adventuring and all the different treasures I brought home!

I have another task for you as well, that I didn't want posted publicly on the board. First let me warn you all that while you were waiting I had servants write & draw detailed descriptions of each of you as they observed you through magically concealed peepholes in the walls. A servant is even now on his way to the Citadel with a sealed package containing magical copies of those descriptions. The package has instructions on it, that it is to be opened in the case of my untimely death or in the case of a robbery occuring at my home and there is a note in there saying you are the most likely culprits. Don't take this personally, it is a measure of precaution I have to take as I am about to show you my most prized possesion!"

As he says this he turns towards a cabinet by the wall and you hear him muttering some arcane words as he waves his hands around. Those of you with arcane abilities are fairly certain that he just dismissed or de-activated at least one spell, possibly more. He then pulls out a chain that hangs around his neck, under his tunic and uses a key on there to unlock the doors on this cabinet. Behind these doors you see several compartments and drawers, many with locks of their own. He moves to block the view of exactly which drawer he is accessing as he uses yet another key on the same chain to open that drawer. When he turns back around to the group you can all see in his hand a small piece of metallic looking crystal, that is a pale green in color. It is about the size (NOT shape!) of a finger joint, and is serrated on one edge. Quite clearly it is a broken off chip from some sculpted item.

"In and of itself this has very little monetary value, though it is made of a an extremely rare substance. It is the skymetal Noqual and it is very resistant to magic. But it has great sentimental value to me! The last adventure I ever participated in. My dearest friend, companion, fellow adventurer, and fiancee, Shantleen had found this and was fascinated by it. She really wanted to find the rest of it to see where it had come from. Alas, one evening as she was studying it, she failed to notice the skeleton that came up behind her and stabbed her in the heart. She died instantly. Now, if you should find the sculpture that this came from and let me know everything you can about it! And if you should be able to bring it to me! I shall pay no less than 3,000 gold for that! As I said, it is not valuable in itself, it is just for the memory of my dearly departed Shantleen. Now, unless you have questions for me I must get back to my research! Joaz will see you to the door!" As he starts to walk out of the room not expecting any questions to be asked.

Female Werebat-kin Skinwalker (Bloodmarked) CG Witch (Ashiftah)1 5/11 |FL F: +2, R: +2, W: +2 | Ini| HP 9 (1d6+2+1FC) | Defence AC 12 (Touch 12 Flat Footed 10) [/ooc] | CMB: -1, CMD: 1t: +5 | Perc: +4/+6, SM: +0/+2 | Speed 30ft | Hexes Misfortune DC 14, Ward | Spells: lvl0- 3 1st 3 | Active conditions: None.

Lord Royst, before you leave. First, we came here to take your commission to map the Emerald Spire. Aldhranhald here is a skilled cartographer, so you should expect good quality maps unless we succumb to the perils of the Spire. Second, we have absolutely no intention of robbing you. Third, I am sorry you lost your love Shantleen and we can probably agree to search for the skymetal statue. Perhaps if you allow Aldhranhald to take some measurements we will be better able to make sure we have the right object. Fourth, and last, if it is alright with you, I would like to scan the item with detect magic. If we know how the object reads under that cantrip it may assist us in finding the object which is of such sentimental value to you. I ask before casting the cantrip out of courtesy and because strangers using magic in your house could be misinterpreted as an attack.

In her mind, Boudacia is thinking:-

Sentimental value? My guess is the statue is an object of power, likely worth far more than 3,000 gold.

Question for the GM and more knowledgeable players- is there something special in Chelaxian law about contracts? I recall something about that. And what do we know of it if yes?

"Huh? What? Oh ... yeah, skilled cartographer, good, and I'm glad your not robbing me. Measurements? Measurements huh? Now that sounds like a very wise idea indeed! Certainly, here take your measurements." He hands over the piece of crystal, but will not take his eyes off of it. "And you said you want to cast detect magic on it? Sure! Go right ahead! But I'm going to tell you right now that your not going to be able to detect anything! I told you it is very resistant to magic!"

You cast detect magic and while many items on his persona and some spots (mostly at eye level) on the walls and the cabinet all glow, the crystal itself has no aura what-so-ever. Dead-as-a-doornail so to say.
On the Chelaxian law and contracts, I have no info! But if you should ask around town you will be told that Abernard's word is as good as cash in hand! He is trusted by EVERYONE! Many think he's a grumpy old fool, but they still trust his word!

Measurements! GREAT idea! 100 XP bonus for Boudacia!

He waits until your done with the measurements and the magic detecting, then takes the crystal back & goes ahead and locks it back away in the cabinet. "Now, gotta get back to my research."As he is walking out of the room again, suddenly, loudly, "MAPS! And LOTS of them and lots of detail!"

You are right Lord Royst, the crystal does not have a magic aura. Your magically concealed spy holes do, however. We are kitted out for the Spire with enough weapons to start a small war, so I guess we look intimidating, so I can understand your caution. We will map the Spire and search for the statue. A pleasure to meet you sir.

After Lord Royst leaves, Boudacia says to the group:-

Now, if I have the lay out of this town right, the next stop is High Mother Sarise Dremagne at he temple of the Golden Key, which is located conveniently just across the street. Shall we?

Boudacia makes no move to race Ozzy, in fact moving towards the Temple of the Golden Key at a measured pace, saying:-

This might be a good time to talk about taking young Ozzy into the Spire. It is no place for a child. But Ozzy has no family or means of making a living. If she does not go with us she may go by herself or fall victim to others. I think the best thing to do is have a talk to her about not being impulsive when adventuring and keeping herself out of the front line. If she does things that endanger herself or the rest of us we will have to leave her behind in future. What do others think?

Taking in everything that transpired in the mansion, the north-man is slightly amused by the mans paranoia and his manner. Boudacia handles the questioning very well, at least to Tangar's mind.

As they make their way to the building across the street Tangar agrees with the woman, as he has had these thoughts himself. I agree, she is too young .. or at least acts it, und I sink she should not be so anxious to go to places she may not be ready to ... experience. At za least, ve should caution her to be .. careful, and let us go before her. I also agree zat she should not be in ze front line. Walking towards the Temple of the Golden Key, Tamlara speaks up: Lord Royst is a bit strange, even obsessed possibly, but he is completely trustworthy. Also, I agree that we should keep an eye on Ozzy, at least until we know how she responds in the heat of battle. Though we should remember, she has survived on her own for some time. She's not completely defenseless, and she may have experiened much that we know nothing of. Assuming that she needs us to protect her could be a mistake.

As we make our way to the Temple, Tamlara *may* work her way towards the back of the group, depending on how Stormy decides High Mother Dremagne's feelings toward Tamlara.

Tamlara, High Mother Dremagne judges not, as long as one obeys the law. Interestingly enough, that is how she is described in the module, AND that is how the percentile dice rolled! Tamlara would know this as well.

"Yes, the child-like one does seem over-anxious at times, just as a child does! You make a good point Tamlara. We know nothing of her past and we should be careful not to judge by appearances alone. Whether if Ozzy has been on her own for years, or days, we cannot say. For all we know she may have just runaway from home this morning! Those weapons may belong to one of her parents! Or she could have been on her own for most of her life and be quite a fearsome warrior with that ridiculously long spear she carries. My point is, that we don't know! I don't recall if, back in the tavern, did she ever give an account of herself or say what her talents are? I don't think she did. Yes, we should keep an eye on her and protect her, whether from herself or others, until we know better."
"Well, anyways! If we are going to go see High Mother Dremagne, armed to the teeth as some of us are, we must stop at the doorway before entering and ask for permission to enter from one of the clergy members there. ... Oh My! I hope Ozzy doesn't try to just run on in there! They will try to detain her for sure! And that pet guardian of hers won't take that kindly I fear! Maybe one of you younger folk should try to catch up to her and stop her from entering?"

Recall that Ozzy and I showed up to the Helmed Lady together. Well, we had been to a meeting with Lady Iliara Starcloak of the Goldenfire Order at the Juliver Arms together. Lady Starcloak described Ozzy as a Summoner. It makes sense from what I know. That would make Mr Blinky her Eidolon, and the pair of them quite formidable. She still has a child's impulsiveness.

Ozzy and I had talked before too. She says she got stranded on the Shadow Plane and has not seen her parents since. I would think she is being honest. You saw how hungry she was and how little she knows of table manners. It is consistent with being an orphan.

Tamlara, you describe Lord Royst as completely trustworthy. He certainly seemed honest to me. There are few people I would say were completely honest, why do you say this of Lord Royst?

Walking beside Boudacia, Tamlara says:

No one has ever complained about a deal made with Lord Royst. Everyone around town knows that he keeps his word, and can be trusted to do as he says. Of course, those who try to betray him. . . well. . . Tamlara shrugs. . . I'll catch up with Ozzy. Tamlara dashes ahead, her scarf flying behind her.

Something I forgot to mention earlier: as we left the Helmed Lady, you would all notice that Tamlara wears a scarf wrapped around her head and a wide-brimmed hat.

Ozzy and Mr. Blinky reach to top of the steps that I assume there are in front of the temple and turn around. Mr. Blinky could have arrived first, but wisely stayed with the girl instead of running ahead, potentially scaring those around them. Ozzy is disappointed to see that only Tamlara is running, and she seems to have given Ozzy quite the head-start. Still, when Tamlara approaches, Ozzy matter-of-factly says I win. She runs her hands through the fur on the back of Mr. Blinky's neck, and Mr. Blinky licks his eye as he watches Tamlara approach.

Glancing in the direction of the former barmaid, Zero adds, "Perhaps we can take this opportunity to help her. A life of adventure can easily set someone for life, as Lord Royst demonstrates, and as long as she is not on the front line the danger is minimized ."

Frowning a bit, the half elf thinks out loud about the metal the Lord has shown them. "Who would build a statue out a magic resistant metal? That seems...wasteful."

I just want to be clear. Even though it is called Skymetal noqual (and strangely enough the module tells me ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it or it's properties other than being magic-resistant!) it is actually a crystal substance with a metallic-like look to it.

And I'm guessing no one has a craft skill that would apply to sculpting. I'll allow a Knowledge engineering check that may give some info.

"You did indeed win, but next time, you will not catch me unprepared! Where did that come from?? she wonders to herself.

Ascending the steps to stand beside her, Tamlara quietly speaks for Ozzy's ears alone:
Although, you might not want to try that as we come closer to the Spire. We will all be safer if we stick together once we leave town.

Very nice usage of going back and forth between bold and italics there, especially on the emphasis on "that" within your thought! And at least you tried to use quote marks! I think somebody is trying to 'show-off' that she read my guide and it's links too possibly?! Seriously, well done! Especially for a first time PBP'er.

Boudacia takes her light crossbow from where it is hanging from her backpack and puts it down next to the wall near Tangar, saying:-

Would you look after this while I am inside please Tangar.

Boudacia then moves into the church, seeking someone who can lead her to the High Mother.

As all of you approached the temple you couldn't help but notice that this is one of the largest - besides the Citadel itself of course - and most ornate buildings in town. You see what you presume must be their deity's symbol prominently displayed at the pinnacle of the roof, and in a couple other locations as well. Obviously this is one of the main religions accepted in Fort Inevitable.

As Boudacia walks boldly into the temple, after setting down her crossbow, she sees a few fully armored and armed Hellknights. A couple are knelt down apparently praying, while others sit quietly and reverently in a couple of the pews.
She also sees someone who is obviously an acolyte, turn to look at her, and his face suddenly gets a look of panic, and he comes rushing over to her, and it is quite obvious that he is staring at Boudacia's waistline. Wait! Um, ... uh ... no weapons are allowed in here without first obtaining permission! And since I am the only one currently on duty, I know you didn't get permission! That dagger you carry on your belt, (Since your character sheet doesn't specify, DM is going with the most common and logical location.) while not much of a threat is still a weapon! Oh my!" He suddenly seems to calm down and gets a serious look on his face, I must do my duty! Then trying to put on a strong forceful voice (but not doing to well) "I hereby detain you by the authority granted by both High Mother Sarise Dremagne and the Lady Commander Audara Drovust! Halt and surrender any weapons you have!" as he he holds out a hand in a 'stopping' motion. I wonder if I should ask those Hellknights for assistance?

Alex did warn you that armed individuals must first stop and ask for permission before entering the Temple. This could get interesting.

Character sheet

Ozzy, having not heard Alex's warning, is about to follow Boudacia inside with her spears still swinging above her when she stops in her tracks and watches Boudacia and the acolyte from the doorway.

How are we supposed to ask before entering if there's nobody at the door to ask, so we have to enter before we can ask anyone? She asks the others around her in an impertinent stage whisper.

As soon as the acolyte starts talking, Boudacia stops walking and raises her hands palms forward, showing they are empty. When the acolyte is finished Boudacia repies, as calmly as she can:-

I am sorry I broke your rules. I am not from Fort Inevitable but Thornkeep, where people go armed practically all the time and everywhere. I don't mean to harm anyone and you can certainly take my dagger.

The dagger is on her belt alright. I am trying to make this as minor and uninteresting as possible.

Tangar looks down where she sets the crossbow and nods his head Sure, I vill keep an eye on it.

When the commotion inside starts the young north-man looks over his shoulder to see what the racket is abut, seeing Boudacia talking with someone.. official looking he thinks everything is ok, but when it turns south he moves towards the stairs to the temple, meer feet from the crossbow.

He waits and watches to see what happens before just charging in and ... well...

The acolyte keeps his eyes mainly on Boudacia, but also often glances quickly over at the Hellknights as if to make sure they are still there.

At all the commotion most of the Hellknights are now watching the exchange as well.

Very slowly and carefully he reaches over to take the dagger from your belt, "No tricks now you hear?" Once he has the dagger in hand and sees you are not resisting at all, he calms down a good bit. "Thornkeep eh? Yeah, murder their own mother for the right price I've heard." She doesn't lok that bad or scary to me? But if she's from Thornkeep she must be a vile one alright! Maybe that's her trick, she appears not to be dangerous! Hah! I've got this one figured out. "So what is a murderous thug such as yourself coming in here for? I seriously doubt you worship Abadar god of law or do much of any kind of worship for that matter! State your purpose!"

In response to Ozzy's question, "Well, little one, there is always someone on duty and they watch the doorway closely. It is customary even for the Hellknights themselves! Anyone wishing to enter with their weapons comes and stands at the doorway & as soon as the staff member on duty sees them they will come over to assist you. You then ask for permission to enter with your weapons. They will most likely ask for your purpose in entering at that point."

Upon seeing Tangar appears ready to charge in, Alex puts a hand on Tangar's shoulder, "My new companion, if you go charging in there like your thinking, you and most likely all of us as well, will be hunted by the Hellknights and executed. Wait a moment please? I shall see if I can clear this up."

Stepping over to the doorway and in a loud clear voice, "Excuse me young gentleman? I am sorry to interrupt, but as you can clearly see I am also of religious inclination, though of a different faith. The young lady is a new companion of mine and this group standing here at your doorway. I'm afraid the young lady walked in before I could stop her and explain your rules. May we come in so as to straighten out this ordeal? I assure you no harm is intended. We were coming to ask the High Mother about the recent problems with the undead to see if we could be of any assistance?"

Looking over at Alex and seeing a Holy symbol of Sarenrae hanging from his neck and hearing he is possibly offering assistance with the undead issue, he throws his hands up in the air and back down to his sides, clearly getting excited now in a happy manner though, "Well why didn't you say so in the first place?" He looks at Boudacia, "I wish you had started off telling me that! This whole little um ... misunderstanding shall we call it? could have been avoided!"
Turning back towards Alex, he walks forward with an eager step, "Yes! Yes! Please come in! All of you who wish to do so! My name is Jacov. Well met! It is good indeed to hear someone may assist with this situation we have been experiencing. Please follow me and I shall take you to see the High Mother!"

Ever since leaving The Helmed Lady Aldhranhald has seemed to retreat into himself. Perhaps an after effect of the somewhat heated conversation about slavery, perhaps nothing more than being a, sometimes, pensive thinker. Regardless, as various conversations and circumstances have transpired around him, he's remained silent and reflective. Part of his contemplation rests on the very interesting hunk of sculpture that Lord Royst showed them.

As the group approaches the the Temple of the Golden Key, obviously a sanctuary dedicated to worship of Abadar, Aldhranhald steps to the side, near Tangar, and rests his back against the front of the temple, very near where Boudacia placed her crossbow. "If it's all the same to everybody, I'm going to just stay out here and enjoy the sunshine for a while." Aldhranhald unshoulders his pack, and sits down. Rifling through the pack for a moment he pulls out one of the latest books he's been reading, finds his page, and continues reading. Any looking closely would see the title: A History of Azlanti Scuplture.

Just want to make clear, your not required to give over your weapons, or leave them outside, if you obtained permission to enter; which the whole party now has thanks to Alex's (DM's) intervention. So anybody that wants to change their mind and say they kept their weapons or that they did go in, that's fine. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Once it seems to be settled who is coming, Jacov will lead the group through a doorway towards the back. In the hallway he stops in front of a door and ask all of you to wait a moment. He knocks and you hear a male voice saying to come in. Jacov opens the door, leans in a bit and you hear him asking someone to watch the sanctuary as he has to take some people to see the High Mother.

He beckons you to follow down the brightly decorated hallway. You then proceed up a stairway to the second floor. There are several works of art & tapestries hanging on the walls here, all very ornate and fancy looking. Jacov passes several other doors but finally pauses at one and again asks you to wait a moment, while he informs the High Mother of your presence. He knocks, waits just a brief moment and then walks on in closing the door behind himself leaving you standing in the fancy hallway.

While waiting, Alex will approach Tamlara and lean in closer and in a conspiratorial whisper, "Actually, if her office is anything like I expect, there will be plenty of room! I just didn't think it the best place to bring Mr. Blinky to, and did not want to offend either him or Ozzy!"
