Airak shows no reaction and plods his way towards the healer with his charge on his back. Head down and mumbling a marching tune to himself.

Deputy Hugs and Arnholde look unsure of what to do. Arnholde glances back at his mother.

The Baroness calls out to the barely standing Loman, "Loman, are you alright?"

Talia bolts past Arnholde whom ends up a few steps behind her. She loses her breath when she sees Tyler.

Arnholde glances at Tyler, and gives the kobold a very stern look, his grip tightening on his hilt.

Deputy Hugs looks unsure of what to do, looking between his injured fellow deputy and fallen fellow deputy.

Nighttail speaks up, as she pulls the reins on Hak to get some distance between them and Arnholde "It wasn't me!"

Borin looks grimly stoic over Talia's reaction, he doesn't feel much of anything at this moment. He glances over to Loman, see what the kid is going to do.

Loman glimpses at the crowd, completely aware of the stares of hatred. With another look at his fallen comrade and his' loved ones he closes his eyes tight to push back the tears that were beginning to form. He looks up at them and shouts;"They are not your enemy!"...small pause to breath... "Without her we would not be here now!"...this time he takes a gulp and the tears are evident..."These deaths are mine to carry, punish me as you will..." trailing off at the end whether due to emotional overload or exhaustion it is not clear ,but he loses his strength and falls to his knees before coming face first into the ground unconscious.

Loman sees Talia rush over as he begins to fall to the ground.

Airak, Red, and Loman all wake up inside the Wise Piper's common room, for a brief moment, it seems like a horrible nightmare. The illusion is shattered by the cuts and bruises from the fight of their young lives. The sun hangs high in the sky. None of them are aware of how much time has passed. The wounds they have been bandaged. Hunger stirs in their belly.

There are a few townsfolk milling about eating some kind of stew.

Deputy Handsome sits against the wall staring at his feet, he has not noticed that any of you have woken up.

Red opens her eyes and finds herself in a stone room. The sound of chains can be heard clinking around her. She tries to move but her wrists and ankles are secured tight to the ceiling and floor. Coming fully awake she begins to panic as darkness closes all around her.

Red startles awake in the wise piper with a hoarse cry. Hugging her knees she trembles in fear, tears streaming down her face.

Airak rallies his strength and takes note of everyone who survived. He Addresses Deputy Handsome.
"Where is everyone else?" he then inquires specifically about Borin, Nighttail, and anyone else he knew to be alive the day before.

Deputy Gorgeous looks shocked at Red's sudden outburst, it quickly turns to concern. But, he doesn't seem sure of what to do about it.

He turns towards Airak, and straightens up his demeanor, "The injured and deceased are with Xemne. Borin disappeared a few hours ago." He pause briefly before continuing, "Nighttail? Is that the kobold's name?" Well, the...Nighttail left shortly after dropping off Red." He tries to unsuccessfully tries to appraise the situation, "Why don't you three grab some food? And I will tell the Baroness that you are awake. She wants to speak with you three."

Talia comes out of the kitchen, looking worse for the wear. She is carrying another pot of stew, when she sees Red. She places it on the counter, and sits down next to Red. She carefully places her hand on Red's back, "I am so sorry." Tears well up in her eyes, she doesn't seem to be talking to anyone in particular.

CORRECTION: Deputy Gorgeous not Deputy Handsome

Reminders:
Talia, the young innkeeper. She is 24 years old. Her father died a few weeks ago. She was left in charge of the inn. She has three younger siblings who are typically help her run the place. She has typically been something of a den mother for the group before having to take on the responsibilities of helping her father in his worsening health.

Deputy Gorgeous, regular name is Gergis. He heard his nickname he earned in his youth, is too busy flirting with women to be caught doing actual work.

Deputy Hugs, or Hodd, is an intimidating man by his size, but is friendly as a lap dog.

Airak gets some food and goes to check on his mother before going to the baroness

Deputy Gorgeous stumbles out of the Wise Piper. By the time Airak finishes his food, and comes back. Deputy Gorgeous is on his heels.

Talia spends the time trying to comfort Red, making minimal progress.

Deputy Gorgeous appraises the scene more or less where he left it. He finds his voice, 'Let's go see the Baroness now.'

Talia speaks up, looking concerned at Red, 'I don't think it will do any good for Red to meet up with the Baroness. She hasn't really talked to anyone.'

Deputy Gorgeous takes a deep breath, 'Fine, I don't see the harm in that. And he makes his way out the door.

He leads Loman and Airak out on Canteclure Road. The townsfolk seem to only offer sympathies to the young men that had gone through so much. Even the older kids who might have one time jested at their expense, don't have anything more to give than a sad expression. They cross the Rogue Creek to Green Hill Road.

The climb is a bit steep and Deputy Gorgeous struggles more than once up the hill. He doesn't make any fuss about it. They pass the Devy Stables and make their way to Devy Manor.

The Devy Manor over looks the entirety of Belhaim. It is two story orange wooden building, there is a porch that wraps the around the building. There are a handful of steps leading up to the double wooden doors that lead into the manor. The doors have symbols of Abadar carved into them.

Upon knocking on the door, Arnold Devy answers the door. He escorts the three of them into a small office. The room smells of books. Lady Origena Devy sits at the desk. She doesn't look like she has slept well for days. Her eyes are sunken and her hair is a frayed. She motions for the two of them to sit down and dismisses Deputy Gorgeous.

With a heavy sigh, she starts, 'I am so terribly sorry for what has happened. It was against my better judgement to send two deputy trainees, and their friends into that tower. And now you all have paid the price. Now if you need time to gather your words, I will understand.'

Her voice turns stern, 'But, if that is the case, I will need one answer. Is the town in danger?'

Loman and Tyler were the deputy trainees

Kavin died in the collapse, Tyler and Inwisme died to the kobold leader

Due to age changing, I am bumping Talia down to 17. The rest stands as it is. It was just that mostly everyone had been around 16-18, now its mostly under that.

Loman remains silent and keeps his eyes to the ground only half paying attention, with obvious distaste and tension at being forced to listen about his poor decisions over again.

Baroness sits through the well told tale. She is astonished by the recovery of the ancient Devy family sword.

She exclaims, 'That is remarkable. I believe that might be Windsong'

Arnholde stretches out his hand to take it from Airak. He inspects it, marveling at the craftmanship. He remains distracted as the Baroness asks Airak to continue.

When he is done, the Baroness takes a deep sigh. And she looks directly at Loman, [b]'This is not on your fault. You were a Deputy trainee, and it was way over your heads.' She sits back in her chair, 'There will be no punishment. And we will be investing in more town guards, at least for a while.' She raises her hand to stop any interruptions, 'But, don't worry, I don't intend to hunt down Nighthawk in the rest of her tribe.

She stands up and looks out the window and over the town. 'Unfortunately, Professor Hunclay has not woken up yet. He is still at the Shrine of Shelyn. There will be a funeral for your fallen friends in a few days. If there is anything, we can do to help. Please let me know."

She looks at the both of them with an appraising look, 'Now, I understand that you might not feel this way. But, the town does owe you a debt of gratitude. Especially, myself and Arnholde. We will have a finely crafted item of your choice made. Think about it, and place your order at Baccus Smithy.

Loman remains as he is, seemingly numb to their words.

Airak inquires more about Windsong.

The Baroness sits back in her chair, "That is a tale for another time. But, to satisfy your curiousity it belonged to our towns founder."

The next few days were a blur. Funerals were held for the fallen.

Talia is one of the ones taking it the worst. She clutches an old symbol of Aroden that Tyler gave her as he is put into the ground. She refuses to leave after the townspeople have left.

Borin grimly carries her off to the Tavern.

Over the next year, Talia becomes a devout worshipper of Aroden. Borin has taken up helping her with the Tavern.

Professor Hunclay is placed into hospice care, as he has no woken up since the Tower's fall. His mansion remains magically protected. It takes the Towers place as the new haunted grounds. Sounds of glass breaking and screams are heard from it.

At this time describe what your character did at the funeral, and what they did for the next year. Kick to third level

Loman took the events hard, as he blamed himself for a lot of it. He attended all the funerals, and showed as much respect as he could, but he would not speak to anyone. With the coaching of his Druid master and others in the town he slowly came out of the worst of his funk after about a month. A cloud still hung over his head, but a few distractions began for him. He finally was able to talk to the Baroness about the events and even went as far as to advise that the Kobolds would make better allies, than being left as is. He was of course, due to the events and his tracking skills selected as part of the diplomatic party (assuming it goes through). (Terms to be set by the ST). In addition to these envoys he also was tasked many Ranger and scouting missions by the Baroness(most likely to keep him moving and not brooding). Also, he began a new friendship with Red. A very awkward friendship at best due to both their social inabilities, but they got along well with little talking. Loman spent the time showing her things and places he knew, and soon she became his best friend. He still continued visiting the graves once a week, rain or shine, so as to never forget the efforts of the fallen. He would always pray for them and leave fresh flowers on each grave.

*If the anniversary is coming up he would make a wild fruit/berry basket for families of the fallen and leave them for them (outside their house if available).

Airak attends the funerals and sings and speaks for each one.

Over the next year he continues working in the tavern. He splits his off time between gathering information about the incedent, as well as the history of the town, and trying to write a song about their events in the tower.

Red avoids crowded places so she does not attend the funerals with everyone else but still watches from afar.

The first part of the year following is difficult for Red. She keeps to herself mostly staying at inwisme's old cottage sleeping or foraging for food. The days fly by until Loman happens to wander close by. Seeing someone she recognizes and that isn't surrounded by others, Red follows and then later spends time with Loman learning as she once did with Inwism. Red quickly took to any lesson Loman could provide whether it was fighting, hunting, or learning to read and write.(the reading and writing is a work in progress but the other two are pretty good.)

Some weeks after the funerals, a foreigner arrives into Belhaim-- and an elven one, at that. Claiming to be a cousin of the now-deceased Inwismë, the elf named Andreas is met with little to no resistance to his claims to temporarily move in to town to settle his cousin's affairs. Some rumors flurry about the town shortly after his arrival, yet the man tends to keep more or less to himself and the fascination of a stranger quickly loses its appeal. Just like his cousin, he's not one for people.

Especially small human people who regularly invade his house.

The first meeting with Red is... well, to say a surprise would be an understatement. It quickly becomes an annoyance. Both see one another as invaders of their home. There is a small cold war between Andreas and Red for a time (creating more rumors), but in time a grudging truce is made between the two.

A year comes and goes, there is a reluctant peace between the humans and the kobolds. It is the sort of peace where they just do there best to stay out of each other's hair. Nighttail has taken over the tribe of Kobolds and if people weren't looking for them, they did not find them.

Professor Hunclay remains in a coma. His mansion becomes the new tale of horrors as no one has entered. Fear of the glowing symbol on his front door upon approach dissuades anyone from pursuing anything else. Instead people discuss the unnatural sounds coming from it at night. Deputy Hugs and Handsome claim to have chased off a few monsters from the Manor. No one has any evidence of this.

Summer has just started and the mood has picked up for the first time since the Tower fell. Townsfolk have finally managed to move on from those horrible events. It has brought the town a bit closer together.

The Baroness Devy has asked you all to visit her at the Estate. This isn't a terribly unusual occurrence, she has made a point to know that you are all doing well.

As everyone makes there way through the town, the setup of the Summer Festival has started. It's not for another few days, but this is one of the few holidays that are celebrated in Belhaim. The smell of baked goods waft in the air.

Arnholde Devy meets you at the door, and leads you to his mother. She is in her study, she seems a bit more distressed than usual, but she wears a smile nonetheless.

"How is everyone doing?"

Andreas has been included because he would likely be placed in charge of Red as papers would prove that he is a relative of Inwiseme. And this is a once per month.

Red:
Red has had trouble sleeping, and it has only gotten worse as time gone by. First, it started with the events that led to Inwisem's demise. But, over time, it turned into something else. An immense beast with fangs the size of swords and a shadow that eclipses the town. It's large reptilian eyes settled onto the Professor Hunclay's manor.

More troubling, she has seen what appears to be the beast in the Kobold's lair.

Andreas:
It has come apparent that child has been struggling to sleep at night, if at all, in the past week. It seemed like it has always been the case, but more of nuisance lately.

Loman:
The woods have grown darker in the past month. Animals seem to be migrating out of season. Your master seems quite concerned. He asked you to stay nearby while he investigates. He hasn't returned in nearly week.

Airak:
Airak has noticed a large influx from Galt. Mostly people are passing there way through. Apparently, there has been another uproar from turbulent country. Your mother has been more sick. She has trouble getting out of bed anymore lately. She has had to retire from the stage.

Airak have noticed that most of the songs that she has taught are sung also by the Galt refugees.

Up to his normal short talk, Loman gives a nod of head, "Baroness". He gives a mild nod to all those he ventured forth with before trying to embolden a sense of respect for their efforts past. He does not hide the perplexity on his face though. He seems eager to say something, but reluctant to appear impatient or being responsible for bring more troubles to the others again.

Red:
You would have full knowledge of Loman's post from Brad as you spend time with him regularly. He would confide his concerns about the forest and his missing master, as well as him wanting to get permission to investigate matters further and possibly search for him.

Andreas offers the Baroness a small smile, more out of forced politeness than anything else. "Baroness, always a pleasure." He inclines his head at her inquiry. "I am well enough-- a bit tired, but not as restless as some have been..." His voice trails off momentarily as he casts a sideways glance at Red.

"And yourself, Baroness?"

Airak dresses in his finest. Though these meetings seldom lead to anything interesting he always has his hopes up. He enthusiastically greets everyone with a handshake, and a bow for the baroness.

Baroness looks concerned at Andreas' comment, and goes to speak before noticing Loman biting his tongue.

Her glance crosses over the assembled group, "I feel as though something has come up. Would anyone care to explain?" Her eyes settle on Loman.

Loman clears his throat a little, nervous of the Baroness's stare."The forest is..... wrong, I mean.. there is something wrong with the forest." Loman shuffles his feet a little and says;"I seek your council on a private matter.. it need not concern the others." Loman then looks to the floor, still uncomfortable in the current spot light he feels is upon him.

Baroness looks surprised, "What do you mean there is something wrong with the forest?" She appraises him for a moment, "If you don't wish to talk about it front of your friends, I understand"

Baronness continues, "I have an update for you all." She looks like she is trying to chose her words carefully.

Arnholde speaks out of turn, receiving a glare from his mother, "Professor Hunclay has disappeared. We moved him to the manor about a month ago, and this morning, he was not in his bed."

Baroness interrupts, "We tell you this due to the events that happened last year. Do not fret about this, Arnholde will be helping the sheriff and his deputies look for him"

The Baroness replies, "Well, we don't suspect any foul play. But, we really don't keep our doors locked any more than anyone else in our town."

Arnhole takes a deep breath, "Don't worry about it. The Sheriff and I will be looking into it."

Important note he only has two years on the groups average age

The Baroness continues, "There is no expectation of any of you to help. In fact, I would prefer you didn't. But, I sense, you are going to do it anyway, I want it to be known what you are planning to do and when. So, the town and myself can help in what ways we can."
