Vili Borrson |
Vili will share the Info with theon and he will pay Solomon the 20 gold for more info.
The Dire GM |
The bureaucrat smiles as he tucks the coins away, and spends several minutes giving Vili detailed accounts of Remaio's long history of taking bribes almost regardless of the source. Your own recent foray into the hinterlands of Taldor, Andoran, and Qadira, for instance - all funded by ill-gotten gold.
Solomon wryly admits he sympathizes — the Taldan government is dysfunctional, and Remaio is barely given one month’s pay for six months of work.
Wilen Proudbrew |
"Gawds you should have seen this one. Walked straight through fire towards his enemy," Galdur gestures to the now free Hullric. "Hullric, we are hoping the warrior Inka Heldotor here could share some of her exploits. Maybe we can learn something so that we might need less of your other talents," The young dwarf shivers at both his near death experiences.
Gawds, Lamentations of their women? Where does he come up with this stuff. he grins
... combined works for me Wilen, unless you prefer the other. EDIT though it won't help in any case. :p
"Yes, searching to restore one's honor we ran into interesting dangers, but we also suffered through ancient bickerings of political mistrust. Inka, what mighty deeds do you have that we could learn from?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 probably lead, unless a better comes along
The Dire GM |
Wilen, Galdur, and Inka keep chatting about battles and the like, and the conversation does turn eventually towards Princess Eutropia, who observes these conversations with a quiet smile.
Captain Seferi has yet to be approached, and the attitudes of Solomon Menander and Dominicus Rell remain in question, unless you would like to proceed to court now and take your chances?

Hullric Torsol |
Perception on Captain Seferi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Sense Motive for Captain Seferi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Hullric spots an attractive woman and recalls she was Captain Seferi. He decides to end his watching and approaches her. "Greetings Captain. I noticed you seemed out of place here. By coincidence, so am I. Personally, I'm really only here because the Princess requested I come. I've learned a few things while observing the lot here and maybe I can be some help to you."
Hullric proceeds to tell Captain Seferi what he has observed and helps the Captain come up with some lines and topics to use.

He watches Hullric pick his next target, and sighs to himself. Of course the masked man claims the strong, pretty, adventurous woman. Ah, well.
He approaches Solomon Meander to do some commiserating.
"Hello there! Solomon is it? I'm Wilen. Is it just me or is there an over-abundance of ceremony before getting to business around here? And all just so that these people can not explicitly say things that they'd like to say to each other? What does it take to just get it all over with? Maybe you can help me with that."
Diplomacy, commiserate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
The Dire GM |
Hullric is able to consult with the Corsair Captain, and as a result of his coaching, she feels much more confident, and is in your debt.
Wilen chats with Menander a bit (I'm going to pretend you did Bluff instead of Diplomacy :P ) and after sharing tales of bureaucratic woe, the two quickly find themselves sharing a bottle of wine...and more than that as they whine.

A TRUMPET FANFARE SOUNDS
"Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear ye! Court is now in session, overseen by Her Grace, Princess Eutropia Stavian!"
The many and varied nobles and courtiers take their places, and issues both large and small are brought before the Princess. When it is finally Remaio Alcasti's turn to present his case for the restoration of Honaria Alcasti's hereditary title (and all that goes with it for her descendant), the Princess sits back as Remaio gives a long and flowery preamble. She interrupts him as he is about to begin presenting evidence, confirming that it was your party that went about collecting the proof. When he nods his assent, she smiles and leans forward, looking across your faces.
"Than let your friends make this presentation for you. If they were so staunch allies that you would send them far and wide across the land on your behalf, they will surely be such now." As Remaio seems like he is about to protest, the Princess holds up a gloved hand, silencing the man as she continues. "But as you bring this case and its evidence forward, I wish to know the answer to this question as well - does Honaria's legacy reflect on her descendant, Remaio?"
GM Instructions: For this final scene in Honor's Echo, you must make the case for Honaria Alcasti's. You can choose to tie her legacy to her living descendant Remaio, or focus on her deeds alone. In addition to giving a speech before the court (as long or as short as you want it to be), you have the following options:
The highest roll will automatically be the "lead" with all other rolls "aiding" the check, so long as the same skill is used by those rolling. Good roleplay will add significantly to the DC of this check.
Final Actions! Ayri, Hullric, Galdur, Wilen, Vili, Necuametl, Altorin - you are all up!
Hullric Torsol |
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Hullric steps forward, not known for his flowery words, he tries his best to make Remaio look good with Honaria's tale. He bows to the princess and then turns to the audience. "Greetings Princess and dignitaries. On our adventure we discovered that Honaria fought many battles with her intelligent sword. On her adventure she even talked with magic trees while defending herself and the army she commanded."
Hullric suddenly freezes up and tilts his head. His expression hidden by the mask he wears. "The blood of Honaria, who was quite honorable flows through her descendants which Ramaio happens to be one. Even though Honoaria was viewed with disfavor in her time, she was truly an honorable person and doesn't deserve to be dishonored."
Hullric moves back to end his speak. Not sure what might have gone wrong, he started so good but seemed to fizzle out toward the end.
Wilen Proudbrew |
(I'm going to pretend you did Bluff instead of Diplomacy :P )
Yes, that was the intention. So many die rolls :P By the time I got to that one, auto-pilot kicked (social something something diplomacy) Thank you for the auto-corrected application.
Galdur XXII 'Fichead sadhà' |
Galdur attempts to relay some of the honor they have discovered of Honaria and the family of Alcasti. "It took many seasons, but Honaria's tenacity captured fugitives from the army while in Verduran forest. Those leaders bore the fox insignia."
"As the sword itself can tell you, the church of Aroden awarded it to her for her service to Empire and church."
"And records we uncovered provided detailed information about Honaria’s leadership, depicting her as a skillful leader with a brilliant command of tactics." Not sure why he finds this next part significant the young dwarf adds. "This is despite a reference that she repeatedly failed to receive sufficient resources during some of her campaigns."
"And yet she succeeded."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
The Dire GM |
Hullric speaks well, with Galdur following in a similar vein, both causing Remaio to smile warmly. The Princess asks a few polite questions here and there, before turning to look at the rest of you for you input.
Ayri, Wilen, Vili, Altorin, and Necuametl are up!

Current Dice Breakdown:
Support Honaria & Remaio: Diplomacy (17, 17)
Wilen Proudbrew |
Wilen speaks at length about the story revealed by the clockwork owl: how the familiar's master had been blamed by Syagra Tetranella for some of their troubles after Honaria's death. The familiar had blamed Honaria for this for some time and although the blame was not of her choosing, surely it was the cause of some of her perceived loss of honor. Now with all of the relevant details brought to light, and the familiar's time to reconsider the matter, this matter could be cleared up.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Vili Borrson |
Vili will do his best to make Remaio not look bad but focus mainly on Honaria's glory.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Ayri Fukai-Sagashi |
"...And given her experience I'm sure Honaria would not have wasted time backtracking or going round in circles when someone is wise enough to point out the fact...."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Ayri uses the time to explain how inefficient it was to travel up river and then back again at the beginning of the party's adventure. And that some people wouldn't know common sense if it was a storm giant sitting on them. Hmph!
The Dire GM |
Wilen addresses the court with reasoned arguments on par with Galdur's and Hullric's, while Vili weaves a tale tying all the evidence together nearly seamlessly...while Ayri somehow ends up pointing at Wilen to the confusion of the onlooking nobility.
Current Dice Breakdown:
Support Honaria & Remaio: Diplomacy Lead: 26 (Aid: 17, 17, 16)
Wilen's honest mention of the fate of Italice Cenabri makes Remaio wince a bit, but it does prompt Theon Cenabri into addressing the court, noting that his family does not at this time seek to bar Remaio's bid to restore Honaria's honor, both because she was not at fault and because the truth of Italice is now known to all.
Father Basri makes a special note to bless your presentation in the name of Aroden, even if he seems reluctant to say anything nice about Remaio directly. Captain Seferi and Inka Heldotor both cite your expert handling of things in court as reasons why the matter should carry more weight, with Solomon Menander making note that Remaio does currently languish far underpaid given the station he should be holding. What Dominicus Rell thinks, you cannot tell, as he whispers his advice to Princess Eutropia directly.
After careful consideration of your presentation, Princess Eutropia has decided that Honaria Alcasti will be posthumously restored to the noble title she once held, which now passes to her heir - Baron Remaio Alcasti! Calling the new Baron to her side, and using his blade, she bids you all come forth one by one to kneel before her, as she grants you the reward of loyalty - being appointed a Knight (or Dame) of Taldor!
After court comes to a close, Remaio is ecstatic and treats you all to fine wining and dining in Oppara, paying you handsomely, and granting you access to several family heirlooms!
With that, we have now completed the Pathfinder Society Quest pack - HONOR'S ECHO! I hope you all had as much fun with these quests as I did, and I hope to have your chronicle sheets finished and in your hands in the next 24 hours or less! Thanks very much for playing!

Nice! Thanks a bunch for the game Dire. Especially for letting in a 7th player at the last moment. See you in SFS soon. GG everyone.
Galdur XXII 'Fichead sadhà' |
"Sir Galdur? Uncle Galdur is going to be a little offended."
Well done everyone. Thanks for keeping me alive Hullric. Nicely played Ayri *points at Wilen* and for everyone else who played off of that. :)
Special thanks to the Dire GM! Well paced & colorful. :)

Thanks for running it. The adventure was pretty good - reminds me more of the Eberron approach to scenarios. I just wish I brought a character that was a little more balanced to deal with the non-combat aspects of it. Oh well...
Galdur XXII 'Fichead sadhà' |
In the next room Galdur tries to inspire Wilen in his work with tales of the Galdur's before him who were much better at this sort of thing.
Flavor for guidance which this character doesn't actually have.*
*I meant to come back to this. In my first character I flavored guidance as a luminescent emerald ghost of an ancestor overlaying the character and giving him actual guidance. He made the check--by that 1 point.
Galdur shouted "Thanks Galdur..." and got stuck for what to say next.
"Galdur the Intimidating! shouted the GM.
I rolled the dice and Galdur XIV, became Galdur the Intimidating. I had the GM write that on the chronicle and have been asking GMs to name the Galdur on every successful check. Part of the reason I am playing Galdur the XXII is to complete the list. One of the funnest moments is when I rolled a 20, since my character was Galdur XXI that meant the ancestor who came to visit was his... dad.

Thanks again Dire GM.

Sorry for the slight delay from end-of-game and now, but your chronicle sheets are now ready and online!
Honor's Echo Chronicle Sheets!
Once again, I hope you all had fun playing these quests - thank you for being such a fun group to GM for! I know I'll be seeing at least one of you at a Starfinder PbP table in the upcoming OutPost online convention, but keep an eye out - after that's over, I plan to run more games myself as well!
