Odd'n feels a tickle in the back of his mind, a memory trying to come to the surface. "An.. interesting family.. and interesting child.. with eyes like that.." he offers with a smile. Maybe Garret will know what to make of this. "We will likely be off soon and we must equip ourselves for the journey ahead. Where might I find you all when we return?"

I follow Umaveti as far as the inside of the gates before I split off and start heading toward the shops. "I will meet back up with you shortly. I must get rid of some of this gear that we have picked up."

I will travel to Battles & Beasts first, visiting Delbar and Nibalo the fletcher. "Hello, I have traveled a bit and come across some weapons that I need to part with. I was wondering if you would be interested in purchasing any?" I will show them the following:

Hoya answers, "This hut here and the one just beside it marked #16 on the map are her and my huts. We will await your return." As Odd'n is about to turn to leave, she says quickly, "Oh! You'll need this, so she knows I sent you." Expecting some token or other, Odd'n turns back with his hand out. "I'm very sorry," she says just before slapping him, clawed, across the face. She inhales through her teeth with a wince, "I didn't mean to get you that bad, are you hurt?"

I ask how much it would be to send a barrel of lantern oil to Fwey, if the owner knows of any good exterminators that would be able to travel to Fwey for a job, and if there is someone who can discover new well locations to assist in Fwey. Just so you know my purpose for asking all this. I am assuming the Inn keeper hasn't figured out that I am the one who stole the dagger, so I am attempting to 'get paid twice' by sending him what I agreed to so that I could receive the dagger from him. I realize he doesn't have a second dagger but perhaps he would send money or something else to 'compensate' not having the dagger anymore.

Delbar lets you know that the more general the stores get around here, the less reputable. "The only store that'll buy everything you've got for sale is Irenaeus', on the dock side of The Flood Bucket. That suli is trustworthy enough, at least when it comes to buying and selling. It's the neighborhood you need to worry about."

As Garret approaches the store, he sees to what Delbar was referring. Children begging, alleyway transactions, and women of the night...even this early in the morning. It's clear now why The Flood Bucket built such tall dormitories for its workers' families and extra clients: they act as walls between it and the rest of the neighborhood.

A shady character tries to sneak up on Garret, but the archer's eye is too sharp for him. He backs off, but not very far.

As Garret enters Irenaeus', his nostrils are immediately accosted by a mixture of acid and burnt meat. The archer has to move through stacks and towers of anything and everything. Garret moves expertly past all of it without touching a single thing. That probably explains why Irenaeus was so surprised to see you standing before him while he was counting out his gold. He immediately sweeps it all into a chest to his right and locks it up in one quick rehearsed motion.

As the suli stands it's clear that he's the source of the strange stench, he holds a hand out to shake and introduces himself with a (literally) glowing smile, "Welcome to my shop, people call me Ren. What can I do for you?"

As you show him all the things you have to sell, and the prices you ask for them, he grins and suggests a cheaper price for most of it. He successfully convinces you to sell for less. You come away with a total of 241 gp 7 sp and 7 cp. He sells you the things on your list for 21 gp 9 sp and 7 cp total.

When asked about the exterminator and diviner, he answers with a chuckle. "I'm sure I don't know anyone like that, sounds like something that requires an education. You might try the upper town."

Odd'n grimaces at Garret's shopping spree. "You seem quite intent on filling your pockets moments after emptying them, I'm going to head for a drink.. I have a few questions about this place that I don't think the mayor or your shopkeeps would care to help with." Hazy images of the fun he had in Fwei dance in Odd'ns head as he steps to Hormeros and hammers him on the back with a meaty palm.

"Come! We have ale to drink and things to discuss. Let's not waste our time in this city bartering over a few gold when we can be enjoying ourselves before heading back out." Leaning in a little closer to prevent Alistair from overhearing, Odd'n continues "Let Alistair be Garrets mule.. you were put in my charge and I won't have you thought of as such-- we shall be friends or you shall find your own path. Perhaps Milani will find a use for you yet. In any case, you must know this city better than I- where can we find a drink? Maybe tavern goers have some knowledge of that thing .. or the cat-lady outside whose daughter suffered the same fate as the fire-boy..."

While Garret is controlling the thieves and whatnot, in cases like this with information gathering and general city RP stuff could TLGM be in charge of their response?

Kingmaker Table 1

Upon entering the library, Garret encounters Umaveti, rummaging through his books and scrolls researching odd natives of the island, seemingly to no avail due to the troubled expression on his face.

"Scrolls and scroll materials?" He asks as if in pain, "Feel free to browse, I'm not sure what all I have on deck, but I can have nearly any scroll made given the time, my contact can make anything he can make in about a day."

Among the shelves and shelves of poorly organized scrolls, Garret has to Detect Magic to even locate the magical ones, and as he does he finds the following: Ray of Frost, Touch of Fatigue, Abundant Ammunition, Ventriloquism, Unseen Servant, Crafters' Fortune, and Grease. Umaveti has an abundance of scroll scribe supplies, and sells him what he needs as well as the 7 scrolls he found for 555 gp (if you want all of them/it).

He takes off 138 gp for the Shield Other scroll.

I'd be happy to share the RP weight, it's mostly combat where I get bogged down rolling for--I think it was six?--different people at the same time.

Odd'n is surprised to find that his hard slap meets an even harder back, clearly the dorsum of a man who's spent the majority of his life in hard labor. His eyes light up and a smile spreads across his face like a blanket lifting off the ground in the wind at the mention of being friends. He nods and says, "If you want a good drink that don't cost a lot," he juts a thumb over his shoulder, "It's The Flood Bucket you want. If it's information you're after though, not much goes on in this town that Nina at The Panting Painter isn't aware of...if you can get her to talk to you."

I then discuss with Umaveti about getting Light, Spark, and Enlarge Person from his contact to replace the three spells I changed my mind about.

Umaveti nods and takes the gold ahead of time, "All the scrolls will be ready by 0800 tomorrow." He then goes back to his research, and without looking up, adds, "I suppose I should mention I've been to see the mayor. He's expecting one of you soon. I wouldn't exactly recommend keeping him waiting."

I acknowledge Umaveti's comment and turn to leave. If I see Odd'n on the way out I say "I am going to see the mayor, you may tag along if you want."

I make my way to the Mayor and enter the building, speaking to the greeter "I am here to speak to the mayor at Umaveti's request."

Kingmaker Table 1

As Odd'n and Homeros enter The Flood Bucket, Homeros is immediately greeted by four men in leather armor--clearly thieves--seated at the first table on the right, "Merry! How goes it little man?! Come let your new friend and yourself join us at the table!" Homeros looks uneasily at you as they speak to him. It's clear he's worried that word has already gotten to town regarding the fall of the bandit camp, and those who fell it. He waits for cues from Odd'n as to what to do.

The guards at City Hall, ask Garret and his friends to wait while the mayor is addressed. The ifrit can be heard shouting, "Well let him in! There isn't time to waste on formalities!" even from outside. The guard left to make sure you don't enter unwelcome quickly steps back and aside holding an arm out in the nigh-universal gesture of permittance.

Garret, Tanwen, and Alistair find the mayor in the conference room with a very heavily armored guard with a high-quality dark blue cape. You assume correctly that this is the Captain of the Guard. Mayor Minoj is waiting impatiently by the door and closes it as soon as the three of you enter. "So what happened!? I understand Minah was..." it's strange to see such despair on such face, but there's no other way to describe the emotion which keeps this father from speaking about the bleak fate of his son.

Without waiting for Homeros to sour the mood anymore with his apparent unease, Odd'n waves a barmaid over and dips into his pocket pulling out (Gold: 1d10 ⇒ 3) three gold coins and pressing them into her palm while indicating at the table. "See to it this lot don't run dry. With us joining them, they just might!!" Odd'n lets out a roar of a laugh as he nudges Homeros towards the table (albeit a little more gently than before, a bit of a sting lingering on his back where the slight man slapped him back).

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Odd'n scans the room, and those at the table, as they approach Homeros former companions

"So.. 'little man'.. is there a story behind this name?"

Kingmaker Table 1

"Ha! Merry! You ought to make new friends more often!" One man says.

Another answers Odd'n, "You mean besides the fact that I can fit him in my boot!?" He removes the boot and starts to put it over Homeros' head before dropping it in a fit of laughter. As he leant over, Odd'n could see a letter fall out half-unfolded. He couldn't see the content, but he could see that it was signed U.M.

"I have already begun outfitting myself for a rescue mission to retrieve your son, however I would imagine a small payment for the removal of the bandits and perhaps a little something from you to outfit us for success would help."

No bluff check required, technically true statement.

"The forest, not the creatures," Tanwen corrects quickly when Garret points to her.

Minoj's flaming hair climbs and the room begins to heat up quite uncomfortably, but Minoj simply sits, and with a stern but calm tone, he says, "1,000 gp each, as promised for your time and effort, I do expect you to put it toward retrieving my son. If any of the bandits you took down are wanted, and you have proof you eliminated them, you can talk to Captain Csaszar, here. As the armored figure turns around, you are surprised to see a tall woman with metallic silver hair and striking blue eyes as well as round fey-like features.

[b]"Defeat The Wish's men did you?" She says calmly, but not without a splash of disbelief. "How is Landis these days?"

"Never mind that now, Captain, Mr. Powers' group and I have a trip to take." He turns to the guard at the door, "Corporal Perkins," she stands at attention, "Begin preparing my armor and steed!" She nods quickly, and dashes for the stair at the end of the hall. "Captain, I'm naming you Steweard of Krisol as of this very moment." He removes a gold ring with a crest from his finger and hands it to her, "See to it that Umaveti draws up the paperwork. It's clear that I can't entrust him with this mission."

Next, Minoj addresses Tanwen, and seeing her symbol, asks, "Pyralian, eh? You seem mild-mannered for an Azata worshipper. Anyway, where would you have lead them if you'd gone straight after my son?"

"The temple, some of the elders there have been here longer than the temple itself. I'm certain one of them would know something."

"Very good," the mayor nods, finally turning to Garret, "I'll need the day to prepare, be sure you and your people meet me outside the barracks at day break tomorrow morning." At this he gestures with an open hand toward the door, intending for them to leave, you suppose.

Before the Mayor cuts the captain off I say "The Wish was no longer in charge, Beshoi is who we defeated. Other then the burnt out shell of their former camp that they were setting up and statements from some people we liberated, we have no proof. I have already sold all the gear that we recovered from them and I did not think to take a trophy." When the Mayor makes is clear that it is not time to discuss that I simply nod.

"I will ensure that they will be there to meet you, in the meantime I will finish outfitting myself and my party to ensure success." I turn and leave the room, wondering when I will get another chance to speak with the Captain.

I travel from the meeting with the Mayor and head to the Alchemists shop. Once there I produce the 20 dye arrows and ask "Could you fill 10 of these with alchemists fire and 10 with acid before daybreak tomorrow?" Just curious how we are going to do damage with these, I would think that it would not hold the same amount as a flask so perhaps 1d4 of the fire/acid damage with no splash radius + 1d6 blunt or piercing damage?

Appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 He sells them to you at base price 100 gp He also recommends a good place to get what Garret needs for the pearl, and with his recommendation, Garret is able to get those at base price as well.

We haven't had a time stamp since 800am so I am assuming it is 9 or 10 and I still have most of the day ahead of me to work on the pearl of power. Also how much did the rooms cost? I figure we got 3 rooms with meals.

I head to Jassir Manor with the rest of my supplies and when I reunite with Tanwen and Alistair I send them to find Odd'n and inform him of where we will be staying for the night as well as gathering the money that was not used to pay for the room and board. After they leave I make myself comfortable and begin working on the Item I am crafting.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 To see if there is anything weird in the room or something that would distract me.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 DC22

After a few hours I take a break to pick up my arrows from the chemist and then return to finish the pearl.

That is what Garret will be doing for the rest of the 'day,' I will roleplay using Alistair until 'tomorrow' unless someone comes to the hotel and interacts with him.

Odd'n merely offers the man a wink at his jest.

Odd'n snatches the letter without anyone noticing.

Sliding the letter into his own pocket as he stands, Odd'n gestures for Homeros to take a seat amongst his old companions. "So, what news has your lot heard in this city? We just came in past the shanties.. there was some woman screaming about her children being taken by a bee! Can you believe that!? Unless her children are as small as that mages brain Homeros here scrambled, I can't imagine a bee making off with them!" Odd'n lets out an awkward chuckle at his joke, glad Garret wasn't around to hear it. "Worst yet-- she slashed my face for my disbelief!"

Odd'n emphasises his false anger with a shake of his head and an upending of his ale down his throat.

Kingmaker Table 1

"Agreed, she was clearly out of her mind, brats probably just skittered off, happens all the time in the shanties. Kids' are more likely in a galleon than a bee hive," the one bandit replies, with a drunken laugh of his own.

Trying to draw attention of a passing bar-maid so he can get another round for the table (let me know if Odd'n needs to pay more and I'll roll for it), Odd'n probes the man about these galleons. "Galleons eh? They that desperate for workers they taking on children?! Aye, after the day we had perhaps the boats are where we should head.. eh Homeros?!" Odd'n gives the man a wink and his shoulder a firm nudge.

Kingmaker Table 1

each round is about 3sp, so I think you're good for a while

"Work?! No, ya silly brute, I meant they'd have stowed away!" More laughter, this time the other of Homeros' acquaintances joined in.

I'm not missing, I just figure Odd'n had quite a bit of time while I was running around and doing all my shopping so I am not going to jump into his rp for a bit unless prompted.

"HA! Little buggers. Well friends, Homeros and I mus' be gettin' on. I'd be a liar to say I was'n intersted in tha' story about the bees.. and, well.. maybe we can find out bou' it elsewhere..? Plus, it is too early for me to repeat my performance from a few days back." Odd'n gestures to the empty mug in front of him with a slightly woozy smile. "You lot gon' be aroun' for a while? Mayb'haps we will find our way back la'er on.."

Kingmaker Table 1

"We'll be 'round," the man in leathers answers, "you can usually find us here between 2 & 10 in the morning, almost as if it's our job." He adds this last bit with more than a hint of sarcasm.

Odd'n dips into his pocket and pulls out another (Gold: 1d3 ⇒ 3) 3 gold and tosses it onto the table as Homeros and himself step away. "Yall enjoy a little more on me, maybe you will keep a seat warm for us eh?" Odd'n offers them an awkward off-set double-eyed wink before turning towards the door and stepping out onto the street.

As him and Homeros join the throngs on the streets outside Odd'ns hand returns to his pocket to pull out the note he managed to tuck away. Let's see what this lot is doin' back here in the city..

Mikaiela eventually catches up to the others, having changed her mind about the whole idea.

Returning to them, she seemed out of breath, and was breathing quite heavily. Obviously, her physique was still alluring in a sense, but her overall strength and stamina, or lack thereof, was showing.

She said nothing as expected, and seemed to lack a noticeable piece of paper to write on if she did have something to say.

Giving a concerned and apologetic glance to the others, she fixed her glasses. She then pepped up a bit and focused a smile, making sure she still had her bag and scythe with her.

Does Alistair and Tanwen run into Odd'n and Homeros? Does Mikaiela magically know where everyone is or is? Does Garret manage to mess up the pearl he is working on? Tune in next week to find out!

Kingmaker Table 1

You'll have successfully finished the pearl by the time you leave in the morning. I assumed based on his post that Odd'n was just outside of the pub, and if you went looking for him there, you'd find him. Odd'n if that's not the case, let Garrett know, because he'll have a survival or diplomacy check to make to try and find you. Mikaiela needs to make one of those rolls regardless. Reading the letter, Odd'n discovers it's orders from the Upright Man: Boys, It's come to my attention that the group that fooled Landis into letting them through without paying is debating going through our camp at all this time. Beshoi suspects they may try something and is setting a trap for them. If you don't receive word by morning, you five will go down and ensure everything is under control. If you get wind that any of that group are in Krisol, tail them, and notify me personally as soon as you can. This is followed by a semi-detailed description of Odd'n, Garrett, Tanwen, Caltrop and Bronan.

Perception DC 15, only if you're in front of the pub:
Looking back through the broken window to the table where the rogues were sitting, you see that two of them are missing.
Perception DC 19:
The talkative one is leaning nonchalantly against a nearby merchant stand.

Odd'n cusses their luck; These teeth might be helpful in fights but.. I almost wish them away at times like THIS!!

Odd'n hands the note to Homeros so he can give it a read. "So what do you think of this? It fell out of your old friends boot. Should we be concerned.. or do you think they count seeing you as the 'word' they were waiting for?" Stopping in the street, Odd'n anxiously runs his fingers through his messy hair as he tries to think of what they can possibly do.

Thankfully, the oaf spots Garret nearby and waves at the man to get his attention.

It's not Garret, it is Alistair and Tanwen.

Alistair Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Alistair not noticing anything waves to Odd'n and Homeros, "Garret wanted us to track you down and show you where we are staying tonight, it is pretty swanky, ready to head that way?."

Ah, my bad

Odd'n, not quite sure what to make of the note, nods to Alistair. "Aye, may as well get back. We ran into some of your ol' friends in there.. nice lot.." Odd'n ends with a scoff. "No, no.. wait; Homeros & I had intentions of talkin' to Nimma.. Nima?" Odd'n raises a brow towards Homeros as his mind struggles to recall the name. "Well, whatever her name is.. I had intentions to ask her about that cat lady from the shanties. Let us know where we are to sleep and we shall see you there shortly!"

Turning his attention entirely away from Alistair and Tanwen, Odd'n once again addresses Homeros. "So, who.. and where..? You mentioned she knows a lot.. even if she won't share it.."
