Odd'n Lhrar |
Ah good. Was wondering when we'd get this gravy train rolling again ;) Hope he comes back though.. he is our moral compass :P
Garret Powers |
well, a well placed shot and a crit will do that to a second level fighter/wizard
The Little Game Master |
Okay, everyone! We've finally reached the end of the first "Adventure Path" of this campaign.
As such, I'd like everyone at level 2 to level up. But in order to best represent the amount of time and effort everyone's put into the game, I need to know how much XP everyone needs to get to the next level (remember, medium pace chart).
Then, whatever number is the highest, that's how much XP the level 2s get. That way, everyone gets to level up to 3, but whoever had more XP from before, still has that much more XP. Sound fair?
Also, I know leveling can take a while, and it also seems as though we may have lost one or two people. With that in mind, I'm giving everyone until Monday morning, March 16th @ 0600 EST to post their XP. If they haven't I'm going to assume you're no longer with us, and I'll RP you out without any leveling XP from this part of the campaign.
I didn't want to leave this out, and I don't need an answer any time soon: I love this story and I would like nothing better than to see it to completion, but there are two other sections that are about the same length as this one, so I'll understand if any of you want to quit at this juncture or at the very least take a break.
Anyway, who's got what?
Garret Powers |
I'm enjoying it immensely and I am enjoying growing this character. I will take another level of wizard to level up my character me thinks.
Odd'n Lhrar |
I'll be here for the long haul. I'll post my stuff up on here later on today :)
EDIT: medium pace? Agh, I thought we were doing 'slow pace'.. and I looked at the wrong row anyway when I made Odd'n -_- haha-- sorry TLGM! I think I started him with 5000xp for some reason, instead of the 2000xp for 2nd lvl. Thus I THINK Odd'n gained 850xp.. meaning I need 2150xp more to get to lvl 3 medium pace.
Since I kinda messed up I don't mind if Odd'n just gets to the next lvl with no extra xp. In any event let me know!
Yahooooooooo lvl 3 ;D
HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Character lvl 3 feat- Power attack
Monk lvl 1 bonus- Dodge
4 skill ranks: perception 1, intimidate 2, survival 1
The Little Game Master |
It just occurred to me that my system works it out for everyone who is still here to be at level three with the same amount of XP on top of that they had before. If that makes it easier.
And yeah, if everyone could roll your new HP too, that'd be great.

Okay, so it looks like we're down to two. Do you guys want to wait a bit, or recruit a few more?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Garret Powers |
Honestly, We have already proven that Odd'n and I can post pretty regularly if we aren't waiting on others. I would not be adverse to running it with just the two of us as long as the encounters where scaled with that in mind.
Odd'n Lhrar |
I agree. While it is more fun with more people, it is more fun still when there is a regular pace to the game. It is exciting when the 'party' is getting into/out of/around a spot of trouble, but having things drop off the face of the planet for a week or two drains the anxiety & thrill of waiting to see what happens next!
So, as I said, I agree w/ Garret (and whoever controls him behind the scenes :P ); let us proceed for now. Maybe we could open recruitment and screen a few more people as things progress and work them into the story as it unfolds/they decide the game style is for them?
The Little Game Master |
Hey, if you guys are cool with being a two-some, I'm game. I might have to adjust the story a little...there was one part which required five people (which I tried to supplement with NPCs a little), but if it's just going to be the two of you, I don't want to be most of the players in my own game...so...yeah we'll adjust that.
Okay, cool! Moving right along then.
Odd'n Lhrar |
Yea, I imagine playing the GM and half the party would be.. awkward :P
Feel free to open recruitment while we continue stumbling forth-- I think Garret and I would just prefer to keep things humming along instead of taking a protracted break in the adventure :D
The Little Game Master |
Ah yes, well, the other option is killing off NPCs...mwahaha...no not really
Like I said, I'm game, I don't want to open up recruitment again just to get two or three more people who'll just up and leave randomly. Maybe I'll recruit from my other games...would that be okay? I know at least a couple of them will stick around longer, maybe...
Garret Powers |
Like I said, I am ok with just the two of us, we seem to have just picked up two more NPCs though haha. I am wondering how long until they run off or try and stab us in the back. If it is really necessary to have more players we could recruit or Odd'n and I could make one more PC each? either way I don't really mind. What ever is easiest for you.
Odd'n Lhrar |
@Garret- Odd'n isn't a material man so all of what YOU found is yours/in your possession/yours to distribute. Odd'n don't care to rummage through everything and lug it along. He does, however, expect some share for his efforts, and I think in this case it is evident you rummaged through the camp and have scavenged up some wealth. Up to you if you give it.. but Odd'n might make a stink (rp fluff stuff) later otherwise.. ;P
Garret Powers |
At this point Garret considers you 'in his employment' and being an ex rich person throws money around. No need to worry about getting your share ;) he is also super stingy if he can just steal something haha.
The Little Game Master |
Well, you never know. Hey, what if you both took over actions for one of them? Like hirelings. I'll still man Tanwen and Umaveti. That solves the number problem and the NPC problem. What do you think?
I'd obviously let you customize them. As long as they're level 2 rogues with ≤140gp worth of gear, including what they've already used. Let me know if that's something you'd want to do.
The only reason I might not want brand new characters is that I'm getting a little tired of random convenient plot devices. This way you get to play two characters and we don't have to suspend belief as to why.
Whatever y'all wanna do, I'm here to facilitate.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Odd'n Lhrar |
Yea that could work.. but I'd prefer to keep my focus on Odd'n and would only use the guy for his sling attack or to carry junk or something.
Would you want us to throw together traits/feats/whatnot for the hirelings? How do they work.. are like just like PCs?
Garret Powers |
I don't remember who was holding money for everyone but I guess I will be party banker now. I will have to go back through the discussion and game thread to find out how much 'party money' we had. As well as anything else that was considered 'party gear' and I will add it to my character sheet under an appropriately named spoiler.
I wouldn't mind running both the rogues, I could make some characters up for them. I have a soft spot for rogues since when I first started playing I played exclusively rogues. Or Homeros could leave without my knowing at Odd'n's bidding and I could just run Alistair.
Garret Powers |
...I'd like everyone at level 2 to level up.
Sound fair?
So, I just read through the entire campaign thread, discussion and gameplay, and per what I read we should be at 6250exp(me but I have 6350/7500 written on my character sheet, probably bad math on my part) and 6500exp(Odd'n) and that is without adding however much we got from this last battle. Which leads me to believe we were originally using the slow advancement chart otherwise we would already be level 3.
Also I have compiled a list of gear that belonged to the party, which was... nothing. Everything got separated out, however, I did realize that I still had a potion from the dragon that I never identified and 3 scrolls from Umavti that I never Identified (should probably wait until we are no longer traveling with him to identify those anyway.)
The Little Game Master |
Okay, maybe I did say slow, as I was picking most of the stuff for this game at random if I didn't already have an idea what I wanted to do. No need to change now, unless you really wanna go medium speed (that's what I usually use).
And yeah, whatever y'all wanna do with the rogues, they're gonna be on the same point buy as y'all were, and perpetually a level behind, so the spot light is on Garrett & Odd'n.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Garret Powers |
I wouldn't mind switching to med. Slow is sometimes a little too slow for PbP I find, but that is your call. If we do we could just keep our current totals and gain whatever extra we need to make it to third
I will write up some characters for Homerous and Alistair. You seemed to have some sort of backstory in mind for Alistair already? If not I could make up a quick blerb for both of them using info you have already put out.
The Little Game Master |
Medium it is! Still level 3 at the moment.
The little backstories I have for the rogues:
Alistair Vincze is descendant from the wealthy merchant Varisian family of the same name, but he grew up in the streets thanks to he and his mother being abandoned by their father without a way off the island when he was just a baby. He denies any wrong-doing on the part of his father, and is determined to one day buy passage to make it back to the man one day, but not before making a name for himself, so his father will be proud to welcome him home. He used to be a part of the eastern shanty gang (the one Gwyn was a part of, btw) before they were massacred, at which point he joined up with Upright (but--according to him--he was planning to do that anyway).
Homeros has Chelish ancestry, but carries himself like a slave as his family had been enslaved at one point, he barely remembers anything before his family escaped off a ship at Krisol port, but some things stay with you. He joined up with the central gang to survive, having very few other options, since the inhabitants of Krisol tend to shy away from employing escapees on the off-chance the original owners take to violently repossessing them.
That should help with RP, and maybe gear, feat, and trait choices. Have fun with it!
Garret Powers |
Dang it, I posted them on here last night and apparently the boards ate it. I will pull them out from where ever I stuffed the character sheets when I was done with them and repost.
Garret Powers |
Ok, so I had more but I have literally posted this like 4 times over the last 3 days. I have hard reset my computer and wiped my internet cache so hopefully this works today.
Edit: I am test posting this with incomplete info to see if it works correctly.

Yesterday I had to deal with my kid before I could finish editing the info I put up, and I have to do yard work this morning, but I am off for the next 4 days and have no plans this evening so I should be able to throw the rest of the 2 rogues info up and what I have done to my character to level him up and then we can get rolling again. Apologies for the wait, sometimes technology and I don't get along.

Sigh, here is all the information, just gave them basic gear it was the only thing holding up the post from last night. Sorry it took so long. Let me know if it is good or if you want me to change something.

1st level got max hp d10+2con, 2nd level I rolled crappy and got 1 on a d6 +2con+1 favored class, 3nd level I rolled 6+2con+1 favored class for a total of 25 HP.
Garret Powers |
You are 100% correct, I must have rolled a 3 on my first wizard HP roll then because my HP was 16, I will look back through the posts to find it and make sure. I may have just added incorrectly the whole time.
Edit: Yup first page of the discussion thread, rolled a 3 for my first HP roll so my HP was correct up until this one when I added +2 con instead of +1 con, fixed now.
Garret Powers |
Odd'n, I took Craft Wondrous Item as my 3rd level feat. I meet the CL 3 due to one of my traits even though I only have 2 levels of wizard, so if you have a low level magic item you want crafted let me know, I may charge you a bit more then 'half going rate' but you seem pretty free with your money anyway ;p
BigBenClockTower |
Wait, this RP is still going?
Dang, I jumped ship because I had visited daily for a period of almost two weeks there where it said there were no new posts...I (wrongfully) assumed it was dead.
Well, anyways, I'd be fine with getting back into the swing of things if you'll still have me. Although I'm afraid I'd need to drop Mikaiela as a character (because the party dynamic don't suit what she fits into).
Odd'n Lhrar |
Yea, I thought things had died to but.. they popped back to life once we all agreed to drop whomever we were waiting for..
@Garret; Odd'n isn't one to know much about magic.. I'll leave it up to you to create things for him. Seeing as how you are the collector the money maybe you just put whatever Odd'n is owed towards some item you think he could use? This would mean tracking his share of the cash that is in your possession.. but I think are you doing that anyway ;P
.. at least I hope so.. :O
Garret Powers |
I am tracking what is yours, I meant ooc that you could tell me what you wanted so I could make it for you.
Big Ben, if you want to pick up one of the two rogues that we just got I would be more then happy to let you re spec them if GM is cool with it
Odd'n Lhrar |
@Garret-- I'll leave the item creation up to you entirely ;P It'll be more fun for myself (& Odd'n) to get items I was perhaps not expecting. Make it flavourful. ;)
Garret Powers |
Haha, I'll see what I can do to make some fun magic items for you then.
If Little GM is cool with it would you rather take over Alistair or Homeros?
