Hey Warforged, I figure I better let you know what this does, considering it's nowhere online.
Price: 2,000
This ornate gold ring is set with a single round sapphire and platinum stems. When worn, the ring of the sublime protects its wearer from fear effects as if constantly under the effects of remove fear. Wearers of rings of the sublime in Taldor often believe the ring's ability to combat fear also removes social anxiety, making the wearer a more confident and self-assured member of high society.
It's only found in the Taldor, Echoes of Glory Companion.
I saw it in herolabs and thought it fit him pretty well. (Especially in this town) ;) But if I need to find something else instead,(seeing how it's listed nowhere online) just let me know and will do.
Which shocked me really. Usually d20psfrd has everything.
Deimus |
I think it rocks for him! Good choice.
Nearly done. I just gotta tweak a couple more things. Still have some money left over but that can be dealt with easy enough.
Here he is so far... Iozef
Remember, still gotta implement some things. But nearly there.
Love the avatar! My trolls will greatly enjoy pounding the little nerd!

That sounds pretty powerful... I'll have to have a better look and compare it with similar items of similar cost. Immunity might be replaced by a nice bonus to saves.

Question on languages: Since it's not a Golarion ethnicity, changeling starting languages don't include any of the regional languages, meaning that by RAW, she can't have Varisian, the language of the people by whom she was raised. Is it okay for her to have Hallit, Skald and Varisian as starting languages to represent growing up traveling around the Ustalavan countryside? They seem to make more sense than explaining how she knows Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Giant, Gnoll, Goblin, or Orc.
Question on the Scars hex: As the language in the book is unclear, are you okay with using the errated hex as shown in the FAQ?
Deimus |
I would agree. Club would be perfect as a cane/walking stick (plus you'll be able to use it two-handed).

I'm good with both.

Alright. I think I'm finally done. But I'm sure there's something I've forgotten. But oh well.
@Windle: Does it have to be bludgeoning? You could always go this route.
Deimus |
Regarding the ring, I would suggest we go for a +4 save bonus for 2,000 gp. How does that sound?
Joana |
I'm having a hard time spending all her money, DM. I have just over 1500 gp left. Is there a bank in town where she could keep a stash in case she has to get out quickly and start over somewhere else, or could she just hide it under the floorboard in her room or something? That way, if something comes up that we need in game, she could have some money to put toward it, or save up for something she can't afford right now. If you want me to spend it all (or nearly all) she could pick up a second pearl of power, I suppose.

No problem. I think she'd trust the floorboard more. Perhaps not in gold, but in something valuable and easier to carry. Gems come to mind, but if you think of something more in line with your character, go for it.

I've gotta spend until near broke - its an IC thing :) That 3k restriction really bit hard for me. 4k and it would have been much easier.
I'll buy a potion or three and wind it out.

I'll add an hour glass - 25gp and it thematically appropriate... still shopping... should be done soon. I'll price the glass at 30gp that includes a belt gimbal that wieghts the hour glass and allows it to swivel so its always pointing 'down'.
Assuming I spend 200gp it will give me 1.56gp in my pocket - until payday that is.
1 potion 'Shield of Faith'
1 potion 'Enlarge'
1 potion 'Cure Light Wounds'
1 Potion 'Protection from Evil'
In a magical world in wouldn't be unheard of for 'Police' to be given cheap magical enhancements - I'll say these are issued by the City

Unfortunately that's a martial weapon, and inquisitors are only proficient with simple weapons, bows, and hand crossbows. Something like a jo stick or singlestick would be reasonable as well, but I'd like to be able to make the hitting part out of alchemic silver.

Then go for a light mace, but with a special design. Totally free if you have it masterwork or magic; 50 gp if it's a custom regular weapon you want designed differently.
Hope this helps.

Are we still aiming for today or tomorrow?
No pressure, just wish to know to best plan. I'm quite busy these days.

On another note, I've mentioned in the recruitment I might try to link the module to the Carrion Crown AP. How do you feel about that? Other suggestions if we manage to get through the module.
If we go with CC, we'd probably join at the third installment.
I ask now as I'll try to mix elements of the future in the presence; some foreshadowing if I can.
Joana |
I started playing a Carrion Crown game here on the boards, but it didn't get very far. I don't think the opening of book one works very well in play-by-post; I've seen a lot of games get bogged down and peter out in Harrowstone. If you think the later books are more suitable, I'd be happy to play, although I don't know anything about them.
Helaman, isn't Feast of Ravenmoor set in Varisia rather than Ustalav? And it's for 3rd-level characters; we're already 5th.
Windle Thetra |
I'm in a CC game on the boards, playing Part 1. Being PbP it's unlikely to get near Part 3 for a couple of years...if we're lucky, and it survives. It'd be cool to see some of the later stuff. (I also just played in a heavily modified version of Feast of Ravenmoor, set on an island near the Shackles, although we didn't know that's what we were doing because the DM put it in as a set piece in a larger campaign.)
Javell DeLeon |
@Windle: My bad. Didn't even realize their weapon restrictions. I guess that's what happens when you never run inquisitors. :p
I'm good for starting whenever's good for you, DW.
As far as connecting to CC, that sounds good to me.
I've never heard of those other games that's been mentioned.
Deimus |
Lets get thru this but hell yeah but may I suggest Feast of Ravenmor then wake of the watcher?
Intriguing suggestion... Any reason in particular?

DM, a question about the sequence of events this morning: The intro says the summons came "before dawn." Mireza would usually have prepared spells upon waking in the morning, after her 8 hours of rest. Did the Crow sent to fetch her allow her an hour to commune with her familiar and prepare her spells?
Deimus |
Absolutely.
Joana |
I know Mireza and the Sergeant are in the tent.
Grigor went into the tent and then left before Mireza's questions.
Windle and Iozef are ostensibly examining the remains of the structure, which begs the question of how Windle heard the bit about Marshan, unless we assume that the sergeant didn't answer Mireza's question until after they both left the tent, which hasn't been narrated yet.
Joana |
Yeah, it's all a bit mixed up right now. It does say the sergeant "points to the building," which would be hard for him to do from inside the tent, but then he also answers the question Mireza asked inside the tent about who the owner is. Except for the spoilered stuff, I'm not exactly sure who's privy to what information at the moment. Once Valiard arrives, everything's going to have to be repeated for his benefit, too.
Deimus |
Ah! Ah! Sorry about that. I just answered the questions, thinling that whoever would ask them would go to the sergeant. He can always point from the entrance of the tent to the building.
Anyway, for now, you are all in the tent, Valiard just got back, and Grigor is just outside, but can hear everything and see a lot through the gap in the tent's entrance.

Please confirm here whether you took the equipment Grigor distributed and marked it on your sheet. Thanks.

Just marked my stuff on my sheet. Thanks for the reminder

I must thank you all for the quality of your participation so far. Your writing is excellent and I'm always eager to find out what you wrote. Your characters have great complexity and seem to mesh well, in their own way, together. You certainly set the bar higher up for me!
As for Iozef, what craks me up is that the ranger he plays in Kingmaker is a straightforward, blunt, charging first laughing type. The contrast is extraordinary. Well done Javell!
