Welcome player-deities,
please keep all dice rolling and out of context stuff in here. Descriptions of your actions are fine in the gameplay thread. I will also be posting a summary of each turn in the gameplay thread, with less focus there on mechanics and more on description.
Without further delay below are listed all the player-deities. The D20 roll will determine your order of play for turn 1, Each player begins turn one with 10 power.

Sheher you are up, Because things are getting going and it is the weekend, you have until 1800 EST Monday to post your turn or your points get banked until turn 2.
Remember after things get started you have 24hrs from when the deity before you posts their turn or it moves onto the next guy and your points get banked until the next turn.

Blinding light, Shimmering from a bipedal form
He wills into being an area where All light may reach without worry so all may bask in its warmth. Open plains, in the middle of the map.
6 pts to create 2 inches of plains, 4 pts to give both warm, moderate climate.
Where do you want that in relation to the desert?
Browman |
I hate to admit this, but this is the first time I have read the PDF (been busy). It is cracking me up. I should just wait for Kelnet to post and then, I am good to go? Pretty sure that's it.
Exactly, you have 24 hours from when Kelnet posts or you are assumed to be banking your power. If you post within 6 hours you get an extra power next turn for keeping things moving. The 24 hour window is designed so that things keep moving otherwise with 10 people things could stagnate quickly waiting for people to post. Likewise the 6 hour window encourages people to post quickly and keep track as their turn approaches.

And are we using the role 2d6 when we start going from turn to turn and we just start with 10. Or, do you roll it, as indicated earlier, and do you roll 2d6? Do we still get the +1 if we have 5 or less? Or, does the posting earlier to get bonus points cover that?
Edit: Aslo, with the shape land, that roughly 1 in. diameter, how does that work? If I wanted to make an island, I would say, 3 power points, but if I wanted to make a whole bunch of islands, would it be 3 each depending on the size?
Browman |
I gave everyone 10 power to start, it will be 2d6 per player from now on, I will roll for everyone at the start of the next turn.
You get one bonus point if you post within 6 hours of the last player, you also gain bonuses asiindicated in the rules for dawn of world's.
For islands it depends on the size, you could get several small islands or one big island for 3 power or a really big island could be 6 or more power.

Another thing about this. I love geography. I am having a hard time not putting a desert on the other side of the rain shadow with the forest up against that mountain. Also, that mountain at the start of the river where it meets the coast. That is perplexing. Does the water flow inland, not towards the sea, and that's fine, if it ended in a marshland and not a desert.
I realize these are gods messing with the terrain. AND it's a fantasy world. No problem, but any one else having a hard time with it? I am playing a Lawful deity, but what should I care about the mountain in the southwest, with no rain shadow. BUT, look at the size of that mountain(range)!
Just posting for discussion.

Perhaps that is your roll, to keep things from getting to far away from the natural order.

The river is older than the mountains and the rock is soft enough that, as the mountain range uplifted, the river cut through the rock. It's strange, but it happens from time to time.
I got nothing for the rain shadow.
Shelayyen |
Totally could see that. The river cutting through, but then also ending in a desert. I do just picture the gods crafting the world with their power, then after the leave it more alone, it will balance itself out. That plains area would be so fertile you couldn't farm in it.
I'll leave the balance to the two neutral gods.

Maybe after Phase one is d we can collaboratively go over the features of the map and make tweaks or find reasonable explanations for features.

Age 1, Turn 2
Sheher 1d20 ⇒ 14 Power 2d6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 8
Zanthreair 1d20 ⇒ 17 Power 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4, 1) + 1 + 1 = 7
Shelayyen 1d20 ⇒ 8 Power 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 3) + 7 = 16
Ryazan 1d20 ⇒ 3 Power 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6, 1) + 1 + 1 = 9
Shylar 1d20 ⇒ 9 Power 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 = 18
Kelnet 1d20 ⇒ 13 Power 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1) + 1 + 1 = 6
Fenii 1d20 ⇒ 4 Power 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5
Kawliga 1d20 ⇒ 6 Power 2d6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 7
Aninga 1d20 ⇒ 11 Power 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 + 1 = 8
Orregr 1d20 ⇒ 16 Power 2d6 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 11
That might be the worst set of 2d6 I have ever seen
Turn 2 order

Bank one point. I know it's been a little over 6 hours but I was asleep! Would like to get the extra power point for quick play but that's up to you Browman.
Sheher |
PDF says at least 5 turns per age, I think the max is 10 but after 5 turns we can vote to push things on to the next age if we want.
Edit: Here's the section
The game begins in the first age. Each age
must last a minimum of five rounds. After
five rounds, the game may move from the first
to the second age, or from the second to the
third, if a majority of the players vote to do so.
After ten rounds the age may shift as soon as
anyone player wishes to do so.
I think when we get the map nice and filled out we can move on.

Should be Aninga next. No offence, I thought it would be good for the story for only the six gods that relate to emotions about life should make the ancient race (and by that, I mean that Shelayyen thought it would benefit her with only these gods). So, please don't add to the race if you aren't Sheher, Zanthreair, Ryazan, Kawliga, or Orregr.
However, that being said, betrayal, sneaking, plotting, and disturbing is not beyond the gods. Shelayyen asked for only those 5 to join her. The real me is only interested in a cool story.
Kawliga, Sheher, Zanthreair, and Orregr make four. Plus mine. That is 5/22 = 4 points each with 2 remaining. I will put in 6. If Ryazan adds to the race that would be 6/22 = 3 each with 4 remaining. I would put in 7. I am only putting in more because it was my idea and I don't want to force you guys to spend more than you have to. I saved my points for this.
Aninga |
Aninga is likely to step in and wreak havoc with the race, possibly sowing the seeds of their destruction (or fall?) by infusing them with his stormy temperament. That, likely, would happen after they were created. Just as (in world building) he is less inclined to build something new than he is to take what is begun and add chaos, with races, he'll be more interested in creating stormy passions of rage and desire than in actually spawning a race of his own.
I, as opposed to Aninga, very much care what you think about that though. It could happen to some, creating a sub race, or it could lead to the collapse of the first civilization, down the road.

You are correct that Aninga is up.
I think you are getting a different amounts of power from various gods depending on how committed they are to the idea. Zanthreair gave you 8 points, while others have given you 4 or 2.

Too me it would be most interesting for you to create a sub-race dedicated to chaos and destruction, but a key aspect is what exactly this eldest race will be, is it fey, dragons, giants or something else?
