before you go this route understand that charming smile by default will not work as all it is, is a swift action Charm Person which requires speaking the same language as the target, as I said before

You walk towards the fountain and notice on a raised stone surface at the center of the pool sits a three-foot-tall nine-inch-round chalice that glows with an unusual colored ambiance. As you examine it, the beautiful vessel shifts from a glistening green to a warm red hue. The weak illumination plays tricks on the surface of the pool below, making it look aflame with crimson reflection.

And then suddenly you and Luca only see darkness as you both pass out.

Right after you hear Malcom yell out from the northern tunnel you see coming around the corner to the south six emaciated creatures whose skin appears charred or dried, they wear reading clothing with a strange star like symbol emblazoned on them and they have empty eye sockets which seep trails of smoke. They utter not a sound as they move towards you.

You look up from the Gnoll in time to see Aelaeron and Luca who have wandered away from the group towards the now reddish colored Chalice Fountain drop to the ground like a pair of rag dolls about 70 feet way.
About then is when you realize two other party members are missing Malcom and Drake and remember Malcom yelling out about some arcane symbols just a moment ago.

"Now that I think about, we should all three stay together and try to find out what is wrong with Aelaeron, at least drag him back further away from that red glow. Then we can look for Malcolm and Drake.

You see as you get up to walk towards the hallway where Pendin and Zaldane are walking towards the crumpled forms of Luca and Aelearon, that Drake is standing at the T intersection to the west of you and just as you start to turn to walk to the hallway you see the emaciated body of a what looks like an undead creature heading towards him.

Standing where you are you don't see anything but you swear you hear the sounds of several sets of shuffling feet coming from back down the hallway you just came up

Would entangle work here? Some GMs allow casting it anywhere but others say only where there is plants. Which is your call?

As to the chalice very little it is looks magical and it seems to have a wide area of effect that you friends have run into without knowing. Of the undead probably less though you know they are definately not zombies in fact you are pretty sure they are a lot worse than any zombie you have ever come in contact with.

the entangle would work as long as you have the spell components or ability to cast it and according to entangle spell you need V, S, and DF. So as long as you meet that I would be okay with it.

Yes I am aware of your bonus against enchantments in fact the whole reason I made you and Zaldane roll the check was because I looked over both of your sheets to check if anything would prevent you from being effected by this and the only thing that would is Spell Resist which neither of you have and you don't get till next level. Also the effect is not an enchantment.

Drake on your action you take a double move back and slip around the corner and into the room with the chalice and hide in the shadows along the walls successfully.

Malcom runs down the hall and stops across from the creatures that are coming out of the south part of the t intersection and gets ready to attack, about this time Chirinide cast entangle and successfully grabs the entire group of undead creatures within the area of effect. Each one of them are stopped in there tracks. On there turns 4 of them take move actions to become unentangled in the back. the front to look at Malcom and gaze at you with baleful glares that reach into your very souls as if they are trying to rob you of your existence.

while hiding in the shadows, I take my bow off my side and try to gauge the distance I am away from them now. After seeing Malcom fall by looking at them. I decide that my best bet is to stay away from them and shoot from afar.

attack rollto hit the first one that I can see from my vantage point (understanding that I will lose cover and no sneak attack.)

Malcom feels strange as he locks eyes with his foes. Its a feeling unlike any hes ever experienced before.

If he passes his saves Malcom lets out a loud scream and charges.

Gelik continues to run, moving around the corner behind Drake. Move H39->D38
A dry grin runs over Gelik's face as he grabs two bags with colored powders and swiftly pours them over three small vials. He then throws the vials into the group of undead, shaking them vigorously before throwing. At the last moment he notices Malcom charge past him and curses under his breath as he adjusts the trajectory.
Throw splash weapon aiming at C42 or C41 after it dies, ranged touch attack w/Rapid Shot, PB Shot and Heroism, excluding Malcom's square from splash damage (or up to 6 squares occupied by allies in case they all decide to charge)

2d4 dmg per round for 4 rounds, successful save takes only 20% dmg.

I can see how that would foil my attack. I don't suppose you'd mind dismissing the spell would you? None of them are caught in it anyway. I believe its a free action.

It won't completely foil it, you just need to make a save to not be stopped dead cause you can move normal if you meet the dc 17 reflex save and I need you to make this save if you are wanting to proceed with your action as is cause you have the highest init and in order for me to resolve what is happening this round I need to know what your going to do. Also Chirinide has the lowest init this combat so you would have to wait till then if you she was going to dismiss entangle, but realize the front line is entangled and if they want to move forward towards the party they have to make saves so it pretty well placed. attached is a map of where I am guessing based off of comments where everyone is wanting to be and where I am guessing the entangle is dropped is this correct? and Chirinide the green is the entangle is this the right placement?

I just read entangle. I didn't realize you could move normally if you passed the save.

As Malcom lurches forward he notices the entire area is covered in a thick layer of plants and weeds.

No stopping now!!!

The spell also calls for another save if I end my turn within the spells area.

Malcom rush towards the undead and gets entangled in the weeds but is still able to clock the first one with his shield pretty good despite the weeds, at the end of the round you become unentangled

Next Drake peeks out from the the other end of the hall and hits the same one with a arrow as well.

Zaldane, Pendin, Luca, and Aelearon are still passed out Aelearon you and luca are up at the beginning of next round, Zaldane and Pendin beginning of the following round

Gelik

Spoiler:

During you first round action you observe the undead for a moment and realize they are what called Bodaks, a fearsome form of undead known for having a glare that sucks the life out of people and making more bodaks in the process.

During your second round action you chuck the volatile fluids at the bodaks and kill the first one that malcom has just attacked and splashes his allies. The next two fluids hit and kill the bodak to the left as well as splashes his allies.

Chirinide you hit the only one available to hit this round though it remains standing after the hit. roll dmg

The undead fail their saves when they try and move into the entangled area and instead deceide to glare at malcom again. Malcom 4 fort saves this round
