Its the same map I just make a copy of it and then make sure it is shared with everyone. I am updating when I get home this afternoon

I updated my character sheet to reflect the negative levels I took. Rather than spoiler tags I just made notes with the ooc tags in parenthesis.

Man 5 negative levels hurts in some areas.

Can anybody explain to me what an ability check is? Thats the only thing not accounted for.

An ability check is a d20 roll modified by your ability score modifier. Basically an untrained skill check.

I know it's a bit of a retcon, but perhaps we could all kick in 200gp for party restorations. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of the level/stat drains/damage. Also, what are people's feelings on resurrecting fallen party members if/when we get to that point? I would be willing to do so if needed, but I'd like to know what the rest of you all think.

Good catch on the spell components, that's -100gp for Gelik.
But he is a bit selfish character, i.e. he does not have infusion discovery and as such he can only cast spells on himself. So while he will chip in on the restorations for the rest, he will most often take care of himself.

The only reason I brought it up in the first place was because I was going to have Malcom pay Zaldane back for the diamond. I don't think its fair that the party should have to pay for my recklessness. I'll cover this expense. That is unless she doesn't have the component, in which case nothing...

As for bringing dead characters back to life, in my groups I usually discourage creating new characters when somebody in the party dies. If you think about it, if there is somebody you're traveling with in RL for a long time and they die, if you have the means to bring them back you probably would. I don't see why in game would be any different.

Hmmm....the retcon not really sure about it, but I will give it to you guys this time as a one time thing...Mainly because this is a tough module was surprised no one really thought about this ahead of time

I do have one thing that I have to share.

I will not be able to post from Friday after midnight till at least Monday afternoon ( I will have my phone on me but It is a little hard to post but if I am needed for something I will do it) I am out of town and will not be returning till Thrusday (I will not be able to post at all on Wednesday at all even with my phone I will be driving)

Since this is the case, I took the liberty of making a short list of some standard cleric spells that require expensive material components / foci.

Lvl 1:
Bless Water (5 lbs of powdered silver worth 25gp)

Lvl 2:
Augury: (Incense worth 25gp, and (F)a set of marked sticks or bones worth 25gp)
Consecrate: (A vial of holy water and 25gp worth of silver dust)
Shield Other: ((F)A pair of platinum rings worth 50gp)

Lvl 3:
Sacred Bond (APG): ((F)A pair of golden bracelets wort 100gp each worn by both you and the target)

Lvl 4:
Divination: (Incense and an appropriate offering worth at least 25gp)
Restoration: (100gp of diamond dust for temporary negative levels or 1000gp for 1 permanent negative level.)

Lvl 5:
Commune: (Holy water and 500gp worth of incense)
Raise Dead: (A diamond worth 5000gp)
True Seeing: (A 250gp eye ointment)

I'm also going to go through my spells and make sure there aren't any expensive components that I neglected to account for. Those of us who are spell casters might want to do the same.

I'd rather just do the diamond dust since we end up getting a lot more bang for our buck than we would with potions, but if it's going to be potions, I will kick in for them.

Yeah I forgot about that, I haven't played any high level campaigns to need such expensive mats, will definitely check my list, will probably add that to my lists in the book too. Nevermind the book lists have a small superscript M or F for expensive things.

I can toss 400gp towards restoration. Hmm next chance I get I should buy a scroll of reincarnate, too.

Oh yeah, Lord Thas, it looks like I forgot the Focus for my 2nd level spell, create pit. It's a miniature shovel with a 10gp price tag. May I deduct my gold and update my character sheet? Sorry to be doing this with the game already under way.

How long would it take for the missive to get a reply? We might be able to use this still depending on things.

The fact that there were humaniod possibly gnollish tracks outside likely point to them coming back and forth regularly. Probably a few days to a week or so at most

Aelaeron, as long as you have enough to cover the spell components that your forgot to buy we can retcon it this time just add them to your character and reduce your money.

I will gladly donate 2,000 gp for the cause of materials needed.

These are only temporary negative levels and not permanent correct? As in the spell should remove them all?

it doesn't state in the creatures info that it is permanant so I am going to go with it being healable and you are healed then since we retconned the diamond dust
