yep but the walls are pretty thick on both sides of the area so even if you do use the lyre it will take quite sometime to have a discernible effect of any sort. All so take into consideration that the lyre will make noise and lots of it for a long period of time which could possibly attract all sorts of stuff to you guys unintentional.

hmm true, lots of noise, so that would be plan B or C, me making small tunnel and everyone else defending if needed.
The description says that 30 min= 100 humans working for 3 days (for reference)
But first a recap,
the only things here is the doors and a star shaped indentation on the floor.
No reliefs, carvings, writings, or pictures, just bland walls and smooth faced doors.
Anyone have true seeing?

Checking things out with True Seeing sounds like a good idea. My other thoughts are to try my dimensional steps ability from the side of the door past where the wards extend. If that doesn't work, I could try summoning an earth elemental and have it earth glide under or around the door and the wards and have it try to open the door from the other side, or at least tell us what's over there. If there's any open space around the door jamb, an air elemental might work too.

Wow I have to say you guys are thinking outside the box and then some :) makes me proud to be an evil DM...Chirinide I am typing up the response to your last action in the gameplay thread read it closely and mayhaps you will get an idea of what is a good idea to do... :)

dimensional step won't work as it is similar to what Pendin tired with the abundent step ability...as to the earth elemental not sure this would work necessarily but I will take a look has merit as a wonderful way...only concern is you ability to control the actions of the elemental enough to get it to open the door on the other side. Oh and no there is not enough of a gap for an air elemental

Lord. I will be gone all day tomorrow with my son for Boy scouts. I might have time to check it on my phone, I might not it depends. I did want to let you know, but Tomorrow night when I get back (9pm CST) or so I will get on and post some.
Sorry for the late notice. I got roped into it today

Finally around midnight you arrive at the castle a quick search of the walls outside the castle you come upon a tunnel After proceeding eastward for about ten minutes along a downward sloping passage, you come at last to a T intersection, with a short hallway continuing to the north and another leading south into darkness. A large eight-pointed star design has been chiseled into the stone floor at the intersection. The points of the star are entirely cleaned out, as if something is meant to be inset into the shallow depressions.
What if we left the tunnel and tried to scale the walls?

Whoa, I'm finding it not too easy to keep up the pace!
I'm participating in eleven PbPs past this one. They all combined made 33 new posts in the past 15 hours, while you guys made 88! That's like over 10 posts per day from each member! I can't commit to more than one post per day, especially as they all seem to flow while I'm sleeping (I'm in Europe). If you don't want me slowing you down, I'll understand.

The only problem with this idea is that the place is mostly a ruin and pretty much everythingyou are going to is underneath castle ruins or in its lower level of which the door is the only entrance...but again good out of the box idea

Several hours is probably going to be enough to restore my 2 ki points? I have a pool of 11 and it takes 8 hours to restore the whole thing.
Off topic question anyone live in the Southern California area? Or for that matter...what timezone is everyone in? Pacific Standard Time here.

DFW Texas!
On phone right now was at work all day today and will be tommorrow too.
I will be home in an hour but if you want to roll for me before then I have a +12 to perception and +6 to init. My first action will be to get out and stuff my hole into my pouch. Stealthily like.

Once we get to the first round, who wants the Enlarge Person? I'm thinking Pendin or Malcom.
It grants size large, 10' reach, +2 str(size), -2dex and an additional -1 to attack and AC, but it also ups your damage dice one step and gives an additional +1 CMB & CMD (CMD cancels out due to Dex drop).
So, +1 damage, +0 hit, -2AC, -1 Ref, +2CMB, +1CMD, 10' reach and damage dice increase one step.
Let me know.

If I can get to the middle of the pack as I'm planning to, with the Enlarge Person I'd be able to get 5 attacks at 2d6+18 & a free Bullrush attack /hit with a full round action.
Just a thought.
I'm just unsure if the Dex drop would affect your Two-Weapon fighting feats. I don't want to gimp your build.
Pendin Fust |
Shoot I went ahead and attempted to grapple one of the guys in the front and pin as a full round action before I saw this! Next round I had planned to tie him up with my spider silk rope and keep him alive for questioning if needed.

Ok, I read up on prerequisites and it looks like the Enlarge Person would cost you the attack from Improved Two Weapon Fighting. It would still be useful to Pendin, and it lasts for 12 minutes, so I'm going to put it on the monk.
Pendin, my main concern is us getting through the door before someone can shut it on us, so I think that should be our top priority.
Pendin Fust |
Fair enough...I will check the discussion before launching an action from now on. I can always break the little buggers neck in the next round (Coup de Grace) after tying him up :)
