Investigator mutagens

I like the idea of the class, especially how it uses relatively weak abiltities and stacks them making it far more useful in combat than you would expect from a skillmonkey.

The Investigator can gain Mutagen as a class feature through one it is class talents.

Can it gain other kinds of Mutagen? If not what ways are there to focus on combat?

Getting to 4th level.

Once you have studied combat, you gain pretty substantial attack and damage bonuses. Stack mutagen on top of that, drink as many combat buff extracts as you can, and you're good to go.

Combat inspiration is also helpful, but particularly so when used with an "inspired" weapon.

Using a longspear makes it easier to start studied combat as a move action, make a 5' step, and still attack.

Typically Focuses of Combat inquisitors are:

Strength based

Strength based reach with a spear

Dex based

Swashigator Dex- 1 level Inspired blade swashbuckler

I myself Love the Swashigator build as I like Parry and Ripose as a combat option.

I will be honest the Str based reacher is the most optimal build however.

An Investigator with Panache and with a Blue Scarf Swordmaster's Flair has reach anyhow...
