Just like to say thanx to Black Dow. While Abitan was annoying, he was still amusing, and you provided some solid ideas and insight.

What I will say is this: Before you all leave the game, let us see if Pentor will be back. I am also curious if either Drayen or Black Dow would be willing to work with Sunshadow to resolve any issues they might have with his style of GMing.

Also, my apologies to drayen for not warning you about the npc squad. I was updating multiple games I'm running and that aspect slipped my mind.

Thanks, Sunshadow. I completely understood why you did it when you posted your explanation.

Monkeygod:
I hesitate to respond because I feel that you are only going to become more inflamed by anything that is not an apology to you, but out of respect to your question, I will answer.

When you came into squad 2 as a co-DM, one of your first comments was to complain about the snarky back and forth between the sneaky squad 1 members and the unperceptive squad 2 members. You made demands that came across as rather immature. My thought was "Glad he's not my GM." and I stopped posting to the other squads. Instead of stopping there, you decided to complain about another player. I don't know why you felt you had to keep going. I do know that if you had posted it in the main OOC under a spoiler to Abitan and Pentor, that it could have been addressed and handled without any muss or fuss. Had you posted it in the squad 2 OOC thread or here, it could have been handled just as easily. Even if you had posted it openly in any of those three spots it would have been cleaner and easier. Instead, you opted to post your grievance openly on the recruitment thread. That was how you chose to display your leadership qualities. I responded with check your attitude as an attempt to get you to notice that you were behaving inappropriately and take the opportunity to step back and stop. It never mattered that it was Black Dow, Barack Obama or the sacred Hindu cow.

Your last post here on June 3 did not come across as humorous, playful or anything else positive. It really seemed, again, to be mean spirited and spiteful. Please try not to infer inflection or tone in my post beyond trying to honestly answer your question and lay out why I posted what I said and how I feel you could have handled things differently. I hope you can take something constructive from this, I don't intend for this to further hurt your feelings.

Guys, I spoilered this to hopefully keep it out of your game as much as possible, not to hide anything from anyone. Please excuse my intrusion.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Drayen:
you mean this?? "Also, as Co-GM, there is now a permanent Glitterdust cast on any "interlopers" in this thread particularly those who wear pretty red dresses"????

If you see that as "one of your first comments was to complain about the snarky back and forth between the sneaky squad 1 members and the unperceptive squad 2 members." than all you are is a whiny little b%$%!.

Now where did I make demands?? is it this?? "Little Biter is actually starting to annoy me a bit. Not sure why it needs to constantly rip on the other squads....at least the rest of us try to be semi-useful to our other squads.

What did I demand??? Did i even request, politely, demandingly or otherwise, ANYthing of Abitan??

Here's the crazy part: I went through the Recruitment thread, the Squad 2 OOC thread and the main OOC thread, and I can't find anything at all that remotely resembles what your talking about. Now, I copied and pasted the two things that I think your talking about, though nothing seems in line with your complaints. So ima pull a WoW line on you: Screenshots or it didn't happen. Show me exactly where i complained about the snarky back and forth or where I made demands that were immature, and I will apologize. Unlike you seem to be, I am man enough to do that, as I already have to Black Dow.

Balls in your court, man up, grow a set and prove me wrong, if you can. Doubt you will though, but maybe.

The initiative isn't that big of a deal to me. If you can keep up the pace, with the current system, I don't have a problem with it. Most of the other things, I am willing to give a try as long as works for you guys.

As for the dice rolling, the problem is that it takes me fifteen seconds to roll a physical dice, add it up, and type a description, whereas it takes me a minute to type out the dice roller here, hit preview, and type the description for it. When I do so much of my updating games at work, this matters since this board has a timer on writing posts. There are a few other minor issues, but this is really the big one that adds up when running a combat with a lot of monsters. I'm sorry if some of you aren't comfortable with my approach, but it's one of the biggest ways I've found to make my updates easier, which in turn makes it easier for you guys to keep going. If it really bugs you that much, I can use the roller here, but understand that on busy days at work, it will mean fewer updates.

I'm sorry you feel that way about the drama, Black Dow, but I would rather deal with it now and get it out of the way before we get any farther than have things go smoothly until we almost reach a high point and have it erupt. It's simply inevitable when you attempt something of this scale.

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

I'd be cautious about continuing Squad 1 in its current form without Hakon and Abitan, and it remains to be seen whether Flynn and Bear are still around and interested.

Given that we really haven't done anything significant in character at this point - I think a reboot is more likely than a continuation.

At this point, you are probably right, Krathok, but that will depend on if enough people stick around to do so. I apologize if I came off as trying to change everything, my original post was negotiable as I tried to make clear at the end of it, but apparently people took it as set in stone. I am simply trying to find a balance that will work for everyone. It's as hard for me to come at this point and try to take over as it is for you guys to adjust to a new DM running it.

Bear is still here, sorry I thought we were on hold for a while so I didn't check posts for a whie...I am okay with whatever, I really don't care about the GM style as long as we can have some fun in character so I don't care if I see your rolls or not.
I don't have any emotions invested in the game so I am having fun just screwing around with the rest of the crew. I hope that some of the other guys will re-consider since I thought we had a pretty neat chemistry with this team of idiots and psycho's.
I am still in.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Same here. If Hakon and Abitan are backing out, I say reboot.

Male Human Rogue 12

I am still in. Although I loved their characters, and the both of them will be sorely missed, I will say I felt that Abitan and Hakon were kind of out of place for a mercenary squad.

As for the new Dming style, all I gotta say is, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Up to this point I think everything was going fine and I was having fun. Not saying we won't still be having fun just that the status quo was fine with me.

Male Hairy Highlander Halfbreed (ThirdSwede) Barbarian 9/King O' The North 5/Staffy Dad 7

Hi All

Just to reiterate that I will be dropping out of the game, so my guess would be a reboot sans insane halflings as the best way forward. [although Jaycen I've got to disagree - don't think any character is out of place in a mercenary company - barring maybe a pacifist lol].

While I agree Sunshadow that the drama has to be dealt with, I'm on these boards to enjoy myself and enjoy the gameplay/roleplay that interacting with people far more creative and imaginative than myself brings.

I know that inevitably some tension and personality clashes will occur, but honestly I don't need em [my character and cross board comments seem to be the root of all this, which has since grown legs].

The other pbp games I'm in don't have them [touch wood] so I'd rather bow out and let the game carry on.

Best of luck to you all

Black Dow

Half-Orc Barbarian 1

After considering the decision for a while, I'll have to pull Krathok out as well.

Absolutely nothing to do with Sunshadow21 coming in as DM, just a re-assessment of my involvement in the holistic whole PbP as it stands. I have to make a call and would prefer to focus on DMing for the Wolves.

Peace out and good luck.

To be fair, Black Dow, most PBPs you're in on this board probably aren't trying to juggle DMs and a combined storyline between 4 groups. You can't expect a new DM to try and step up and have no changes whatsoever. It just doesn't work. I am trying to keep it them to a minimum, but it's inevitable that some things will change.

At any rate, it sounds like a reboot is the most likely scenario, so for those remaining, how do you feel the best way to do that is?

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Hard reset? Either start a new thread, or restart in the old one. Is our squad count at 4 + Corporal? Do we need another?

For those sticking around, here is a thread where we can start over fresh.
Reboot

For those not sticking around, I apologize for the disruption, but this is the first time I've tried to take over an existing game, and I've learned a lot about what not to repeat in the future if I find myself doing it again at some point.

It would appear that this is the discussion that got linked to the campaign, so we will be going back to using this one, simply because I'm lazy, and see no point in trying to put more effort into the system than is absolutely required. If I get time this weekend, I will try to put some notes in the attached section.

I don't mind the slow pace of the game, but I would appreciate it if folks would check in periodically with an update just so I know who is still around. Also, I am always willing to consider any questions/concerns/comments about the pacing or the game as a whole.

Sorry for the inactivity. I have not had enough time in the day here lately. I am still here and still eager to play! Plus my Squad 1 reboot page seems to just direct me to the Paizo store so imma gonna dump that one.

Yeah, since this one was still around and got linked in the campaign, I figured it would just be easier to use this one.

Female Half-Orc Magus 2

I'm still here, I'm just usually waiting for a logical spot to post an interjection. Not really a fan of posting if there's no reason for my character to say/do anything and all.

Though now that the call has gone out for casters to comb the area, I shall post!

That's cool. It's just that every once in a while, it helps me to see who is simply waiting and who, if anybody, has drifted off.

In order to help give me a way of having people check in on a regular basis, as well as give those not familiar with Golorian some familiarity, I am going to try a weekly trivia question. I will post a question every Sunday, and everyone who posts an answer (please use spoilers so as not to ruin it for the others) during the following week will get an action point. You can have up to 5 action points at any given time, and they can be used in a variety of ways. You can add 1d6 to any d20 roll once in a round, you can use one to automatically stabilize yourself, and you can recall any spell or limited use ability that you have already used in the current game day. On Saturday, I will post the question and answer in the campaign notes, so that you can reference them at any time. The questions will be mostly be common information about Isger and it's neighbors at first, but may branch out if I run out of questions in that category.

This week's question: Who are Isger's neighbors?

Liberty's Edge

Male Human, Taldan (Actually Chelaxian) Alchemist 1 (Rage Chemist) / Fighter 1 (Two Handed)

What fun! I know the answer to that one!:
The Military Oligarchy of Molthune - That's where King came from!, The mercantile philosophy of Druma, The demon throne of Cheliax and the Sons of Liberty (and the bank) Andoran!

Two of these regions, by the way, are mentioned in Alestar's backstory!

Poor Isger is the redheaded stepchild (The Thrall of Cheliax)of Cheliax. Probably one of the most strategic locations on southern Avistan.

Unfortunatly, for Cheliax it is ripe for the taking, and because they neglect it militarily as well as financially it wouldn't take much for an insurgency to develop and either Molthune, Druma or Andoran independantly or in a combined effort to claim the territory for themselves.

It would be hard to reclaim if Cheliax chose to do so, due to the fact that the Chelaxian border faces the eastern edge a mountain chain, a river crossing and the Goblin infested Chitterwood!

Female Half-Orc Magus 2

Trivia Answer!:
Isger's neighbors are Molthune to the northwest, Druma to the northeast, Andoran to the southeast, and Cheliax to the southwest according to the map in my Campaign Setting.

The Goblinoid Wars forced what 3 groups to cooperate, something that under any other circumstances would have been seen as impossible?

Liberty's Edge

I know two out of three...:
I am sure of Andoran's Eagle Knights and Chelaxian Hell Knights....the third I'm not so sure. I will have guess....Druma's Mercenaries???

Question of the week 11/6
Which monastery has made a name for itself taking the many orphans of the Goblinoid Wars and raising them in the worship of Asmodeus, with male children often aspiring to become Hellknights or priests of Asmodeus, and female children often aspiring to join the unholy order as sisters?

Liberty's Edge

Ouch! That's a good one. Seems familiar...but I don't know the answer off hand. I'd have to check the ol' Campaign Guide fer that one.

Had to cheat and look it up:
Sisters of the Golden Erinyes

That was a tough one.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Ha! No contest. (No Reference)

I say:
The Sisterhood of the Golden Eriynes

I have got to remember these weekly questions.

I'm officially moving the question of the week to Monday. I like to sleep too much on Sunday.

Question of the week:
Who is currently the ruler of Isger?

Male Human Rogue 12

Answer:
Steward Hedvend VI officially. However, everyone knows he is simply a pawn of house Thrune, conveniently ruling a vassal nation for the glory of the Chelaxian cross.

Female Tian Rogue

Answer:

Steward Hedvend VI, it is a well known secret that he is a pawn of house thrune. he is blindly loyal to the thrice damned house and is in a position comparable to that of a marionette.
