Melisca finishes off North.

You search the bodies and find 4 potions, 2 tanglefoot bag, 2 sets of mwk scale mail, 2 light crossbows with 39 bolts, 2 mwk morningstar 2 and 2 iron unholy symbols.

You press on through the battlements past shattered mile-wide doors into the heart of the complex. Vaulted arcs of stone create a bizarre network of geometric recesses, like a petrified beehive but orders of magnitude larger. In one cell stands an altar smeared with blood and ochre. As you make your way to pass through it, however, you notice two things. Firstly, your skin begins to tingle and sting. If you did not obtain a planetary adaptation spell from Ralph earlier, your skin blisters and you take 1 point of damage each round.

Secondly, your path is blocked by two dessicated humanoid creatures and they move towards you with menacing intent.

“We’ve discovered a path to the Vault Entrance!” Sorrina Westyr’s image appears drenched but defiant, in the midst of pouring heavy rain. Ignoring the water sleeting off her, the Master of Spells points with her wand as she illuminates the asteroid map behind her. “Reports from those traveling through the Ice Reservoir indicate that most of the enemies in that region have been mopped up, though a few scattered groups may still be dealing with ongoing fights.” She taps the map. “We’ve discovered an entrance to the Vault through this area. If you’re nearby, proceed here as fast as you can!”

Then a serious expression crosses her face. “Our efforts have not gone without notice. My divinations indicate that Kelizandri, the Brackish Emperor himself, is displeased and wreaking havoc. Beware of flash floods and rain! Take care, Pathfinders!”

The undead swings at Els as he tries to trip it. It misses and Els puts it on its back. The rest of the pathfinders take the opportunity to smash it into a pulp.

Doldrak and Els take a little more damage from the radiation in the room and quickly move out of the radiated area. Melisca and Kromac are protected and can search the room. They find a small collection of bottles (7 in total).

You push deeper into the tunnels, following the sounds of battle, and eventually come to a new chamber. The ceiling of this deep chamber is barely visible in the distance. Stairways designed for giants connect multiple levels, and bright illumination wipes away the shadows, unlike most other areas on the asteroid. A central platform inscribed with arcane runes hangs carefully balanced in the center of this network of enormous pathways paths. The floor of the platform appears to be a never-ending cascade of earth, forever falling into a black void.

Throughout the chamber, Pathfinders are battling creatures of earth and stone. But before you can move to join the fray, two of those creatures see you and bring the fight to you. One of them you easily recognize as an oread due to the recent increase of their kind in the Society. The other is appears to be some kind of floating rock that emits a strange hum that resonates with elemental power.

Despite its appearance, the flying rock is surprisingly fast. It flies into Kromac's space and strikes him with a stony tendril. Also surprising is that despite its very small size, it hits like a stone hammer!

Hey Aram, did you ever tell us what was in the set of potions from the archers on the walls? I made checks that I'm pretty sure are high enough to identify those potions. I'll do the same for the set of 7 we found here too. Also, after defeating the undead, Kramac will spend a few mintues inspecting the altar, copying down any important-seeming symbols and taking some rubbings of any inscriptions or whatnot that are in the area. Kramac doesn't know what any of the means, but any good Pathfinder would at least make a record of it to show to the other Pathfinders and see what they make of it. This is of course assuming it seems like we have a few minutes to spare - I haven't gotten the impression that things are so time sensitive that documenting what we see would be imprudent. Also, finally, I have combat reflexes, so I should get an AoO against that thing when it enters my square, unless of course it has something that prevents AoOs.

After receiving a savage blow from the earth orb, Kramac steps away, his shield held high as he strikes out twice from a defensive posture. His first attack goes wide, but he reverses the momentum of the swing, and the orb is too slow to avoid the attack, and several large chunks of stone go flying in the air.

★ - OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT - ★

The image of Sorrina Westyr appears as she helps an enormous water elemental dispatch a band of gargoyles. “We do not stand alone in our efforts, my friends. Our teams discovered a band of rebels fighting back against our adversaries and we have begun to coordinate with them. Some much needed assistance should be arriving shortly.”

Table GMs, the Allies benefit is now in play!

Moments later, Ralph appears before you and tosses a small blue crystal to Melisca, who is still on her back.

"I see you are in need of assistance. Fortunately we have freed a number of unwilling detainees in this place and they have agreed to lend us some aid before they return home. This stone will call one of them to you and it will aid you against whatever foe you are facing, upon which it will consider its debt discharged and return home. Use the aid wisely. To activate it, simply drop the stone and say 'aqua mente'."

This is the allies benefit. It is usable once as a free action.

He then flies to another group to deliver another stone and the same message.

You look around and see that many of the other pathfinder teams have already defeated their opponents and are moving on into the tunnels. With nowhere else to go, you head on into the tunnels as well. They twist and turn into dozens of dead-ends, each of which terminates in a rapidly shifting portal through which other locations on the asteroid are visible. None however appear to lead to this vault that Sorrina Westyr has been talking about.

As you continue to explore the tunnels, you are suddenly accosted by a pale yellow humanoid with blank, bulging white eyes and gangly arms and legs. It clutches a pickaxe in its knobby hands that it brandishes wildly upon seeing you.
