If the GM links me to a creature's stats, which DH did, and says, 'okay, here's it's stats, you guys figure out how to do your plan'.... am I then expected to ignore the information the GM gave me, because that would be metagaming to use it?

And it's still honestly not what I would consider metagaming, to expect an 900-lb animal, to not be able to make a 20-foot vertical jump, when it would be obvious to people who exist in that world that a 20-ft jump is ridiculously hard to make.

I adjust jump DCs by size, and creature type.

Expect a grasshopper or scarlet spider sized up by Giant Vermin to be able to jump hundreds of feet. Expect the Terrasque to be able to jump like The Hulk.

The Jump DCs are based on a medium sized creature and get silly fast when adjusting for size. It's an 80 DC for you to jump 20 fee upt. It's a DC 12 for you to jump 3 feet up. It's also a DC 12 for an elephant to jump 3 feet up, and elephants are physically unable to jump. It's also a DC 12 for a Titan to jump up 3 feet, in spite of the fact that their feet clear more than five feet every time they take a step. In theory an awakened slug with a few ranks in jump and no other adjustment could jump onto a person's chest with an average roll. I'm all for fantastic, but I draw the line at ridiculous.

Essentially, I treat Jump the same way the rules treat the Fly skill. The DCs and what the skill can be used for are adjusted based on a creature's size and "maneuverability"

So for those of us not playing with Fido, what is the timeline like? I know we were doing a partial rest earlier to recover a spell or heal some, have we had time for any more rest during the dire wolf Benny Hill sketch or did that happen during the partial rest?

In case it comes up, the reason there were no perception checks allowed to see what the Orcs were doing at the far sides of the tree line is because between distance, darkness and cover, there was no way anyone could have made those checks.

Likewise, they didn't get checks to see what you folks were up to in most cases, though for them it would have been easier due to lack of cover and more light on your side.

I'll allow the second attack with a sling while hasted as long as the sling was already loaded at the start of the round.

Normally someone could attack, then reload. While hasted, someone could attack, reload and take a free action attack. Then they'd be at one attack the following round.

I'll also allow Rapid Reload or the Reloading Hands spell to work with slings.

Unfortunately without training, slings are slow to reload.

Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I'm heading to Florida for vacation/visit family (my mother is having a hysterectomy and colon resection on 3/9 to take out some cancer) on 3/11 and will be gone until 3/18. Not sure how it is for tablets, but might I recommend roll20.net? Takes a bit of getting used to for the GM, and we'd all need accounts in order to see it, but it's a pretty solid system. It lets you upload maps, draw your own, set tokens for each character complete with stats, and you can assign permissions for who can control which token and what info we can see. It's a cool tool.
