Not particularly wishing to discover just who or what lies beyond the door just yet, Elidal quickly motions towards the trapdoor in the ceiling and attempts to move up the ladder and open it...

"Ok, behind me and Elidal, quickly! This thing is big." whispers Emmett, bringing his axe to bear and taking position a few steps from the door, keeping his companions behind him, Sterne to his left, and Elidal to his right.

"We let it go in and we try to circle it, right?"

Tired, he decides to switch tactics, quickly releasing the clasp on his cloak and preparing to send it flying at his opponent's head.

Oh the irony...

The door is opened and you see a VERY large, bulky heavily muscled body held together with wire stitches and metal pins. It is surrounded, and in part being led by three tiny winged creatures that move around it on leather leashes... and the reason is apparent - the humanoid figures face is a blank piece of flat featureless skin and flesh, the creatures seem to be directing the humanoid.

Emmett throws his cloak that manages to cover one of the winged creatures and the head of the humanoid but it seems to not suffer as it attempts to push into the room.

I'll give you the initiative.

Simeon/Nalun:
Its obviously a flesh golem but the creatures leading it are something different - another sort of construct... homunculi

Elidal starts on the ladder. The humanoid creature is large - consider it to have reach and also the creatures flitting around it to be able to attack within the reach zone (but not beyond) It is able to squeeze through the door if allowed, otherwise it can attack through the door way but the attacked person gets +4 AC/CMD due to cover

"Rovagug's t!t!" swears Emmett as his perfect ruse is foiled by the fates. The pragmatic in him lets go of their tricks and follows the cloak with a side cut of his axe.

"Right!" Elidal calls as she hops down from the ladder and draws her longsword, before moving up and attempting to cut one of the guides out of the air.

On mobile so can't see or access the map, but Elidal will try to aim for the nearest guide if room allows.

Flesh Golem:
A flesh golem is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance. In addition, certain spells and effects function differently against the creature, as noted below.

A magical attack that deals cold or fire damage slows a flesh golem (as the slow spell) for 2d6 rounds (no save).
A magical attack that deals electricity damage breaks any slow effect on the golem and heals 1 point of damage for every 3 points of damage the attack would otherwise deal. If the amount of healing would cause the golem to exceed its full normal hit points, it gains any excess as temporary hit points. A flesh golem gets no saving throw against attacks that deal electricity damage.

He points his finger at the faceless behemoth and utters a single arcane syllable, his fingertip glows white for a moment, before a beam of pure white shoots out and stikes the golem..

Ranged touch attack, Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Cold Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Rounds slowed: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8


Simeons strike hits the golem, slowing it down.

Elidal cuts one of the flying figures but doesn't down it... until Jaru's bolt takes it in the head.

A shudder runs through the golem as the flying creature dissolves into chemical goo and it lurches a bit... setting it up for a blow from the old lawman... though the blow seems not to bite as it should have.

It in returns tries to slam its arm into Emmett.

Slam: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 for 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 7) + 5 = 19 Even with cover and with being staggered thats still gonna hit

It would be nice to resolve whether the guides are down first. It make a difference, but I'll roll standard attack.

Despite the pounding, Emmett doggedly keeps up the attack.

Amazed despite the danger, Simeon can't help but admire the genius in creating the flying guides for the blind golem.

Shaking his head at the necessity of destroying such marvels, he nonetheless bring his crossbow to bear on one of the guiding homoculi...

...but their constant movement confuses him, his shot going awry.


Jaru wounds one of the creatures which will try to attack Elidal but Elidal cuts down another of the creatures which in turn seems to affect the golem.

The other attacks are not successful.

I really hate to point this out because it is a clever use of ray of frost, but that spell is affected by spell resistance and useless against the golem.

Elidal deals the Golem a heavy cut as Emmett cuts the last of the Golems 'eyes' out of the air. Emmett freezes it again.

Elidal gasps and ducks under the golem's wild and vicious swing, thankful that they've got the door frame partially blocking the way. She quickly recovers and offers a return swing, hoping to finish the thing off.

Simeon count himself lucky that his minor cold spell was keeping the golem from it's peak efficiency.

However, he acknowledges that other spells probably won't be as effectinve, bringing his crossbow to his shoulder and firing...

Sterne the dog rips one of its legs to shreds though fails to drop the golem. Elidals strike is insufficient to the task but Emmett and his axe finish the foe!

"Since we've already made plenty of noise should we just continue to see what lies on this floor before going up the ladder?" she asks as she peeks out of the door and into the room beyond.

Simeon looked up from where he was exmaining the sutures that connected the golem's arm to its body, "Magical cold and heat have a slowing effect...but I think we were lucky, this was a imperfect creation. A more powerful version may resist those effects."
