On the off chance his comrades are incapable of solving this problem, Anol remains hidden until a more opportune moment presents itself i.e. delays until an enemy is in his threat range.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Turgrim tries to climb the wall and grapple the human to drag him over the wall before he can raise the alarm.

Female Orc

Turgrim goes up the wall a bit, grabing the leg of the guard, then lets himself drop to the ground. The surprised guard goes over with a yelp.

bit of a luck roll 1d100 ⇒ 57

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

As soon as he lands Turgrim will try to kneel on the guard's chest and muffle his mouth to keep him silent.

Should I make a roll to attempt this? Strength to overcome his struggles, perhaps, or grapple? Maybe stealth because I'm trying to keep him quiet?

Female Orc

Hmm

Both turgrim and the guard fall the guard takes 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 damage, turgrim can make a DC15 acrobatics roll to avoid 1d6 damage. The guard loses his grip on his lantern and bell.

Anol you can attempt to catch one or the other with a hit roll vs AC 14. If you like you could attempt to catch both with a two weapon combat penalty. You could also attack the prone guard. Warrok your wolf can attack the prone guard as well.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Warrok left his wolf behind, the wolf isn't stealthy (somehow, weird Pathfinder mechanics heh)

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Turgrim lands lighter on his feet than the human does, only taking 4 damage.

Female Orc

Actually, you fell less than the human. No damage but you are prone with him. BTW do you maintain grapple?

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

I certainly attempt to. Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 4 = 33 I assume I get the +4 bonus to maintain existing, let me know if that doesn't apply. *edit* Nevermind, I assume I have him completely pinned lol.

Female Orc

you are over him like a rash, lol

Female Orc

Sequence of events just so all understand
surprise round
1 turgim yanked poor fool off the wall, falling with him and holding on.

2 anol and warrok (and wolf) get to act. Bell and lantern hit the ground, unless stopped.

Round 1 (guard loses init)
3 turgrim pins guard

4 anol and warrok act again

5 guard, if still with us gets to act

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

Sorry, I just got Hero Lab, and I've realized I've mucked up some of my character's stats. I'll move now with what I've found out and I'll put the corrected stats in my alias when they're finished, okay?

Anol drops his katana, then goes for the bell, assuming the lantern will go out when it hits the ground. Attack (Unarmed, I'm assuming): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

The bell hits the ground, and rings presumably.

Anol draws his katana, and brings it down with both hands on the prone guard. Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Female Orc

The bell hits the ground with a loud clang, followed by another clang as it bounces on the hard packed ground.

Yells are heard from inside the mission, with much movement. Someone, actually several someones are yelling orders.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

"Damnit. We can still salvage this!" Turgrim mutters under his breath to Anol. "Grab the bell and lantern. We must leave no trace."

If Anol didn't kill the guard with his katana:Maintaining a tight grip on the human's neck, Turgrim squeezes tight to try to prevent the human from squeaking or making any more noise.

Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 4 = 32
Unarmed damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Afterward, if that finishes the job, Turgrim glances around him for a place he and Anol can run to hide.

If Anol's katana strike killed the guard, use my d20 roll for perception to look for a hiding spot and it's 26 instead of 32.

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

I forget, are we doing encumbrance? If not, add 3 to the above. Also that roll is assuming we're in a hilly terrain

Female Orc

warrock is still a distance away, as you noted above. You could spend a double move to close if you like.

Anol, this is flat terrain, somewhat rolling away from the mission. Little or no cover here except the night and the wall itself.

The guard slumps, out of the fight. Warroks wolf finshed him in grand style, shaking him backward and forward. You hear footsteps on the wall and shouts and a loud bell ringing. Lights start coming on, light spells and ever burning torches and the like. You hear also the crack of firearms. The sound is odd to you, more high pitched than the firearms you have heard before. None of the shots fall near you, so someone is firing wild.

everyone please state actions. This place will soon no longer provide concealment, due to the attention and light on the area.

"By the way I wonder how the rest of our party is doing" Draxia says looking at the others.

Female Orc

So I am seeing that the party wishes to beat a hasty retreat.

Draxia and Mogwag:
You see lights, hear bells and shots from firearms. Things seem to be not going well

Showing a clean pair of heels, the scouts vamoose away from the mission. A few shots wing through the darkness, but none come close. You soon rejoin the party.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Turgrim grumbles as he rejoins the party. "That didn't go well. What's plan B?"

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

"Those firearms, they are unknown to me. I say we stay out here. Let them believe that they've scared us off, then if some or all of the humans want to leave, let them. We'll fight the rest, hopefully we stand a chance against those new weapons..." He sits down next to Husom, and affixes the wolf's wooden armor. Didn't occur to me during character creation that I could've purchased armor for the mount. Hope this is okay now, since I haven't been using it before...

Female Orc

Anol, yeah go ahead

The mission calms down after an hour or so, a watchful silence

The night advances to dawn as you and your group settle down to wait. There is some grumbling among your troops as the sun crests the sky.

Fightin' in daylight! Not good.

remember orcs are dazzled in sunlight

Female Orc

As the sun moves into the sky, movement occurs in the settlement. Four wagons and about eight horsemen emerge from the gate and start to proceed along the river. the wagons seem to have a lot of people in them. About another five or six are walking along side the wagons, which are being pulled by horses. In about an hour they vanish from sight.

The gate of the mission closes behind them. Guards can be seen on the walls.

One of the orcs, shielding his eyes against the light says We should wait for dark, then storm em. You see it is the grizzled hunter who guided you to the ogre lair.
Actions?

Female Half-Orc Arcqnist(Bloodied:Orc Blood)1st HP:8,AR:11(15)[t:11,ff:10]F/R/W:+2/+2/+6 Percept:+2 Spells:0-*(4) 1-5(2)

"Hmmm Looks like they got spotted anyone got anything to hide them?" Draxia asks as she moves slowly in the direction the others went.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Turgrim viciously cuffs the grizzled hunter with the suggestion. "Idiot! Did you never learn to count? There were dozens of warriors in those wagons. Storming the walls when they're ready and waiting for us is suicide. What we need is a distraction. I say we sneak our witch in there," he gestures to Draxia, "under cover of darkness, and set their homes ablaze. They'll be too busy fighting the fires to properly mount a defense." He glances at Anol. "I didn't get a chance to see a way in there when we crept up yesterday. You catch anything?"

Male Orc Wolf Shaman 4 | Init +1 | Per +10 | AC 16 | touch 10 | flat 16 | HP 44/44 | F+6 | R+1 | W+7 | CMB +7 | CMD 17 | Companion Init +3 | Per +5 | AC 21 | touch 13 | flat 18 | HP 44/44 | F+6 | R+7 | W+2 | CMB +5 | CMD 18

Warrok looks at his companions with a warning stare.

"Maybe would be better to avoid bloodshed if not needed. Maybe now will tribe listen to our animal friends?"

"Turgrim, I think you and the hunter are saying the same thing. We should wait until nightfall before we attack. I didn't see a good way in myself, but I like your idea Turgrim; set a fire and win distract. Since we don't know how to get in, I say we send a small group to the wooden part, get a fire going there, then the rest of us will be waiting under cover at the other end of the mission ready to break in and take them out little by little until they surrender or perish."

Anol pats Husom once the armor is attached and secure. He the turns to Warrok, "Any intel your animal friends can provide would be most useful, especially if they can quickly tell us when the guard is changing at night. Avoiding bloodshed is no longer possible, the ones who stayed behind mean to fight us, I'm sure."

Female Orc

The hunter snarls at Turgrim as the blow registers.

If not for my chief's command, I'd have your blood for that, hobgoblin! Do it again and I will.

His hand rests on his axe handle as he says this.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Turgrim scowls at the orc, his hands clenched into fists. He doesn't back down.

Female Orc

Anol's words calm the orc, so he holds his peace for now.

The day passes and soon night falls. throughout the day the remaining people at the mission keep watch.

Actions?

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Turgrim looks to Warrok. "What do the birds chirp at you, tun'wa?" Tun'wa is Hobgoblin dialect for "mystic man."

Draxia will look at the others and huff."We will wait and see what the humans do next. if we show ourselves we might make them move faster tomorrow in which they might leave better bits for us to claim. Or it might show us if they will attack"

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

"These humans aren't fools, they know they are in an easily defensible position, we must move now if we hope to have any advantage. And the ones who planned to run have run; these left will surely fight."

He hoists himself up onto Husom, draws his bow and looks to his comrades, "Who's with me?"

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

Turgrim smirks and pounds his palm with his fist before climbing up on his wolf mount. "You know I've been itching to do some skull-cracking. It's about time!"

Female Orc

A rumble of agreement echoes your sentiments from the orcs, as they ready themselves.

One of them asks what's the plan. Charge or sneak? You can tell charge is the preferred option, but they are will to adapt to your wishes.

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

Anol sighs, having forgotten there was an army to command...he was not accustomed to working with others, much less a troop.

"Both," he says loud enough so that he won't have to say it again, "Any of you who are skilled at stealth or ranged attacks," he looks around an thinks slim pickings, "Go with Turgrim and me to the side entrance," He points to the right side of the encampment, "The rest of you go with Warrok and Draxia to the wooden part of the mission where you'll start a fire to get in. This will get the fighters' attention letting us find our way through the side entrance unencumbered. Then they'll quickly fall having to fight on two fronts." He waits for any responses, having spoken with a decidedly unauthoritative tone so that they know it's just one idea from a battle-trained hobgoblin.

Male Orc Wolf Shaman 4 | Init +1 | Per +10 | AC 16 | touch 10 | flat 16 | HP 44/44 | F+6 | R+1 | W+7 | CMB +7 | CMD 17 | Companion Init +3 | Per +5 | AC 21 | touch 13 | flat 18 | HP 44/44 | F+6 | R+7 | W+2 | CMB +5 | CMD 18

Warrok will proceed then with the castings of speak with animals, and send some local birds to fly over the mission and see what's going on. ( Hopefully we can assume that I prepared the spells over the night lul )

Female Orc

warrock:
The birds report that there are a flocks of guards in the mission, and a smaller one in the wooden fort. After some patient questioning (birds can't count) you think there are about 20 in the mission, and ten in the fort. The mission seem to be all human, the fort human and dwarf.

Five orcs, including the hunter, step up for the stealth mission. The rest make preparations for the raid.

Note: It is not that easy to set a well built stockade on fire. It can be done, but it requires a hot, continuous flame. The buildings inside however...:)

"I will go with Draxia and Warrok, while they burn the mission I will slaughter any who approach." Runt says with a not to Anol finding his plan more than sound enough to work "Those of us moving on the wooden part of the mission should make out arrival as noticeable as possible to draw as much of there attention as possible." Runt says adding her two copper to the plan.

I'm not sure who has it specifically but I think maybe Anol had the banner of the Great Chief? I do not think we ever specified which of us had it specifically but while the others are communing with birds and preparing for the stealth mission I would like Runt to obtain it if possible and assemble a means of attaching it to the back of her armor in a manner similar to this http://tinyurl.com/ljr53pm

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

Once everyone is strapped, Anol reminds the fire team that their goal is distraction, and that the fire doesn't necessarily have to break through the wall. "Runt, lead them on," he says with a toothy grin, handing her the banner, "Turgrim, let's go." Anol takes up the rear, bow drawn and notched as Husom makes his way stealthily to the side entrance. Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Female Orc

Very well the plan is for one group to obviously move on the wooden fort, distracting the followers, and the other to move on the mission from the rear entrance while stealthing.

I will just set up a map.

Female Orc

Ok. note you have to cross the river, but it is shallow. Indicate on the map where each of your forces are going to (you can edit the map).

A few question
How are you coordinating the different groups?

How are you burning the wooden fort?

Are you riding wolves or going on foot

Please describe your approach and if you need to, make stealth rolls (I have note yours anol, but your wolf needs to as well if he is along)

"Birds tell me of three dozen guards. Good fight for tribe."

We should probably make a bigger group for the mission because of more guards being there, and smaller for the fort. My stealth is very low so I don't prefer the stealth approach, and wolf is coming with me.

Hobgoblin HP: 68| Initiative +5 | Perception +7 | Ref: 6 Fort: 6 Will: 5 (7) | AC: 13 | CMD: 22 | Ki: 2 points

The stealth team will be on foot, fording the river and giving the mission a wide berth to the east (updated map). Stealth roll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

Anol was going to ride Husom; even mounted, the wolf has a better stealth bonus than the samurai. Here's a stealth roll for Anol if I can't do that Stealth (Anol): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21; I agree with the stealth vector. As far as lighting up the wooden part, is it too far-fetched for someone to have at least enough alchemist's fire to light it up? I'll happily take it out of my gold if you need no more than 13 bottles.

Female Half-Orc Arcqnist(Bloodied:Orc Blood)1st HP:8,AR:11(15)[t:11,ff:10]F/R/W:+2/+2/+6 Percept:+2 Spells:0-*(4) 1-5(2)

Male Hobgoblin Samurai/8 || HP 71/71 | AC 13 DR 7/magic or large | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort 9 | Ref 6 | Will 2 | Init 4 | Per +5

Nearing the northern entrance, Anol notches an arrow and waits for the sound of screams or the billow of smoke, whichever comes first.

Female Orc

Ok each group has left on their way. The larger group has 46 orcs in support and is making no secret in its attack, the other left earlier and has six skilled stealth orcs.the stealth group gets close to the mission's back gate and waits.

Larger group actions please.
